Opinions de Lucia's Craft Sandwich Vallejo
Excellent sandwiches. The main sandwiches are massive, bigger than your head. Worth the detour! So good. Prices are slightly higher to reflect Trump’s inflation. Breakfast sandwiches are $7 instead of the previous $5. I got the mushroom, spinach, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Yummy!
The name Lucia derives from latin meaning light or illumination. Illumination is precisely what you will find in the form of crafted sandwiches that are more artisanal than average. This quaint little shop, nesteled under the trestle of the Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge, offers the finest in italian fine meats that I have ever supped upon. I lavished myself upon the spicy coppa, which I requested toasted and was accomadated. Bit of advice, never fear to request alterations to a menu. Succulenta, qualcosa è delizioso; the acidic of the vinaigrette perfectly complemented the sandwich. The bread was crusty and delicate, the cheese divine. The portions are well more than I could finish. Be sure to request toasted. Get your sandwich to go then head south from the shop to the little park...Bring Wine. Buon Apetito!!!
Kim Chi in a sandwich?!?! My friend told me I NEEDED to try this kim chi sandwich! This craft sandwich shop he recommends happens to be a little bit out of the way for me. It's in the small but hometown feel town of Crockett. (I live in SF.) Was on my way to Sacramento and was reminded to make a stop in Crockett. So I go and ordered the kim chi, bacon and cheese sandwich. I was very surprised at how good it tasted! I know, I thought it would be a weird combo with crunchy bacon, melted cheese and spicy kim chi. It works though! You have to try it to believe it! I decided to order the Nola to go for later! It has mortadella, ham, salami, olives, and provolone. The oil seeped into the bread and reminded me of eating a muffaleta sandwich in New Orleans! Very sleek and modern store. Wonderful friendly staff. Safety protocols in place and plenty of parking.
Stopped here for a lunch with the family. Sandwiches and salads were delicious. Portions were huge and everyone loved it! So many things on the menu we can’t wait to try.
Tried this place for the first time last weekend. It won't be the last! I'm very excited to find a sandwich place where many of the sandwiches get me excited for all the flavors! Excellent sandwiches. And big! Lots of different sandwich options, and each one has great complimentary ingredients. We had the prosciutto, blue cheese, pear, walnut, balsamic sandwich. And the mortadella, eggplant, artichoke, ricotta one. Look forward to trying the toast and grilled cheese next time
Huge sandwiches packed with unique and super tasty flavors! I loved the lemon zest touch. Got the Turkey Breast and the Chicken Breast. The service was super friendly and even gave my pup a little pinch of turkey meat—so sweet! Focaccia bread was amazing—little salty, but so good! Can’t wait to go back and try more!
We stopped at this incredible sandwich shop for the first time and it exceeded our expectations. The sandwich maker takes great pride in providing delicious sandwiches where every sandwich combination is carefully crafted to perfection and every ingredient is completely fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and they have more than just sandwiches so I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes as well. The decor is adorable as well and I especially love the wood sign outside that was burnt etched with the store name. Adorable and yummy place to visit. Worth the trip even if you don't live nearby.
This is some of the best sandwiches I've ever had in the East Bay. Had both the bacon egg cheese breakfast sandwich and grilled ham and cheese. Breakfast sandwich had runny egg on focaccia. Grilled cheese on perfectly grilled Texas toast. Fresh ingredients, well made, and these guys were really nice and friendly to boot. Limited seating, so take out is better. Come here if you love sandwiches.
Going to give 5 stars on this local spot!! The staff were chill but friendly, gave suggestions and the atmosphere was just all around low key, laid back. It was busy for a Saturday lunch hour and the pour over coffee was great, and we had club Sammie’s. Next time will get the Italian (saw them making it). Def plan to take your meal to go.
my partner and i stopped by after we found out lucia’s does a kimchi grilled cheese which we haven’t had anywhere else besides making it at home. it was great! perfectly melted cheese complemented by the tang of the kimchi and rounded out with a generous amount of bacon. all of that squeezed between two thick slices of crunchy toast. we also ordered the mushroom grilled cheese which was just as good as the kimchi one. i don’t know if the place has ever offered indoor dining but it wasn’t available when we went. we just drove up to the crockett vista point 5 min away. regardless, do not sleep on lucia’s. this place rules.
Stumbled upon this incredible sandwich shop by accident looking for pizza. Got the Impossible breakfast sandwich. It’s to die for plain and simple. It started luscious over easy egg, melty gooey cheese and this crazy crisp but good chew foccia bread bun. The taste was balanced indulgent and a light lemony pepper aromatic from the arugula. I am paying the 7.00$ to cross the bridge and will be back often, it’s worth it. .You have to come here and partake in Lucia’s this place is a gem.
Dam that was good! New tradition for when I'm in Crockett: veggie sandwich at Lucia's and beer at Toots. NOTE : for no good reason I wondered if the name was pronounced Lu-See-Ahs, or Lu-Shas... So I asked and was happy to be corrected! It's pronounced Lu-Chee-Ahs... After the owners daughter) You can see the tops of both bridges over Carquinez from this local peak! The general view is also great: trees, houses on hills, and general quiet. I don't know the Crockett motto, but it could be: it's pretty great here on a sunny day! Back to the veggie sandwich... it was great. Sea salt and a citrusy olive oil permeate, but allow the smokey eggplant to play its rhythm to hold the performance together. The foccacia got a little crumbly towards the end, but everyone knows that messy sandwiches taste better. So good right now!
Amazing sandwiches, made to order. Large and fresh portions.
This place has been on my radar for sometime now as I've heard so many good things about it. They did not disappoint. The NOLA Sandwich was huge, packed with meats, while the Prosciutto was super tasty. I'm glad we finally got to try them out. I still have my half Sandwich for dinner so it's all worth that price.
Great grilled ham and cheese sandwich. The marguerite pizza was also very good. Amazingly fresh artisan bread and fresh ingredients. Very pleased, will definitely be dropping by again. Edit: I tried their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich this morning and it was AMAZING! Very much looking forward to having it again.
Seriously, this place is a true find from the sandwich heavens. They take such meticulous care with every sandwich, and everyone there is genuinely caring. I’ve already gone off the freeway twice just to come back and eat there again, and each time it’s been just as wonderful. I had the Rib Roast the first time, man what a sandwich, good amount of meat that you can taste the flavor, tomato, layered on the entire bread kept it so moiost delicious. Then the Italian, swapping the salami for mortadella (a perfect switch). The sandwich is perfectly moist, tastey, full of flavor, loved it. Oh, the lettuce, they do an entire side salad with dressing and put it on the sandwich, unreal. I appreciate this place and recommend it to everyone who cares about a great sandwich.
i’ve been eager to come here for so long and i finally went today. the staff was super friendly. i ordered the apple smoked ham sandwich but replaced the ham with chicken. superrrrr good.
We were craving sandos on our drive home to Sacramento from Oakland and wanted something beyond the hustle and bustle. That's when we found Lucia's in Crockett, what a hidden gem! Neither of us had ever been to Crockett before but its quiet charm and quirky vibe immediately won us over. We ordered the Toasted Turkey Club and the Applewood Smoked Ham (with bacon added) and both were absolutely incredible. My husband said the club was the best he's ever had. I don't think we spoke more than a few words while devouring our lunch and the only ones spoken were directly related to our love of these sandwiches! All orders are prepared to-go but there's a small seating area if you'd prefer to stay and enjoy your sandwich on the spot. Also the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better! Lucia's is officially on our must-stop list and we're already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu (and Crockett)!
August 2025: Was driving back to San Francisco from Napa and remembered reading about a sandwich shop in Crockett. Arrived slightly before noon and there was a healthy line. Tried the albacore tuna sandwich which came with 🫒, artichoke, red pepper aioli, pickled red onion, tomato 🍅 and basil. Sandwich was very tasty 😋. Sandwich was on a focaccia which was very unique. 👍 My wife ordered the BLT and I had a bite. I liked how her bread was made on a panini press. I'd order a sandwich from that "toasted sandwich" category next time. Service was friendly and pleasant. Definitely a nice spot to visit when cruising highway 80 around lunch time!
Came here in vacation from Boston. I have a dairy allergy and they are more than accommodating. The food is delicious and a must try if you are in the area!
An absolutely fantastic sandwich! Bummed I didn’t take a picture of it, but just imagine beautiful ingredients stacked on top of each other with a delightful choice of bread. Very large sandwich service was great and the food came out quick. I will definitely stop again. Plenty of seating for that lunch rush and it’s next-door to a coffee shop.
This is such a nice hidden gem of a deli. The most spectacular sandwich I have demolished in awhile.....really really something to try! I got the rib roast sandwich and it was perfection. Hand crafted and made to order, all fresh ingredients and had a nice glass bottle of coca cola to wash that baby down. Highly recommend, if you are a husky boy like me this is a good test....otherwise share a half of your sandwich with a friend!
Been living in Crockett for some time now and this was our first time here. If you're looking for a refreshing, piled on, delicious sandwich... you've got to come to Lucia's!!! 😋 Great and friendly customer service. Best time to come is mid morning and mid afternoon so you'll miss the breakfast and lunch rush. We had the prosciutto, apple wood smoked ham, and mortadella sandwiches... YUMMY!!!
Wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches as well as salads, with plenty of vegetarian options. The turkey breast sandwich was amazing. Coffee was also very good. Portion sizes are very large so you can easily split between two people. Definitely will be coming back!
What a gem! Tucked away in the quiet city of Crockett, this place has no business being as good as it is. Sandwiches with fresh ingredients, large portions, and great value. Don’t worry about the $15-20 price tag, each sandwich is HUGE and can easily be two servings. And yes, they taste as good as they look. Not every place can say that. Been here 6 times and haven’t had a bad experience yet. I prefer their toasted sandwiches over the regular, but I highly recommend getting the rib roast sandwich if they have it in stock. Maybe next time I’ll see if I can get that sandwich toasted too.
It’s a small sandwich shop. I recommend all their breakfast and lunch menus. I ordered the —ultimate— and a —grill cheese— on some type of Ciabatta Bread. Quite chewy. The dining area is quite spacious with plenty of chairs and tables to choose. It has a nostalgic feel from a 1980s living room.
I swung by for lunch, and it was fantastic! I tried the Veggie Deluxe, and honestly, it might be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service was super quick, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. If you’re in the area, you’ve got to check it out!
Love Lucia’s Craft Sandwiches! This spot is always consistent with their quality and flavors. My fiancé got the Italian sandwich and only was able to finish half - he said it was very filling and everything inside was well seasoned. I got the Cesar salad and added chicken since I was in the mood for something familiar. The dressing tastes house made and was delicious. I’d definitely get it again. Something noticeable that not all other places do well - the salad was well dressed throughout and the croutons were mixed in too! I loved that because I didn’t have to make a mess mixing everything in. I really appreciated the care in preparation. Next time I might try a sandwich or a different salad because everything on the menu sounded good. We waited maybe 10 min for our order and it was very busy. In terms of space, there’s only one high top table in the back of the shop with 4 chairs and next to that there’s a high bar with 4 stools facing the wall, so if you’re dining in, heads up the space is small and it’s first come first serve seating. Overall, great quality sandwiches for the price! Well worth it.
As a person who lives in this perfect town, I love Lucia’s. They have vegan options. The meat sandwich is the Italian with extra meat! Vegan and non vegan partner recommend this place!
I came here expecting superb deli sandwiches and I was blown away by the quality of the product and the care with which they were made. I will make certain to stop by here any time I cross the Carquinez Bridge. 13/10 would recommend you stop by and eat here anytime you’re near here.
The staff is very nice and kind, polite and lovely at taking orders whether it be on phone or in person Their food is next level, genuinely tastes amazing AND substantial for a meal! The entire place is very clean and the new dining room (albeit I didn't sit) it was very nice, open to daylight and overall a wonderful modern yet rustic feel! I recommend this place to my friends often and recommend it to anyone who's thinking about going here. 10/10 very hard to find a better place for a sandwich in crockett

Was told about this establishment by my sister. I went and ordered the Mortadella, the Smokehouse ham, the Nona, grilled cheese and pear, grilled prosciutto. They were all by far the best sandwiches we have ever had. I can't even pick a favorite they were all phenomenal. It's my great new sandwich shop
Probably the best sandwiches I've ever had around the Bay Area. Everything is made freshly and feels like there was a lot of care and consideration for what goes on the menu. Portions are nice a big for the price. The bread itself is also incredible, the perfect kind for a hearty and refreshing sandwich.

Ordered from the kiosk, so the cashier never said a thing to me, only smile once. Got the Americano sandwich which was good, but too sloppy because of the overabundance of mustard on the sandwich. Condiment balance needs to be learned here. A more apt name would be the Mustard - American sandwich.
Fresh bread ✔️, quality ingredients ✔️. I got the Turkey to try for the first time, WOW, it did not disappoint. The focaccia bread was very good, turkey not dried out, the ricotta spread was nice touch along with the micro greens. I think I've found my go to Deli. I will be returning to try other sandwiches on the menu! The service was a little slower today 2/28/24. The quality and everything was still there, the Italian was little sloppy, that is just looking for a something to critique.
Massive sandwich that's pretty darn tasty. They definitely pile them up but for $18 that's what you would expect. I'm not the biggest fan of focaccia so I wish I could have swapped it out for something else but I'm glad I stopped by. I will say we had to wait like 30 minutes for three sandwiches and it seemed like everyone behind the counter was pretty frantic so maybe doing some more line prep could have helped get stuff done smoother.
Awesome menu. I wanna try everything. I had Italian combo sub w/muffallata and inhaled it. Never been before but the atmosphere was very chill, laid back. However they did have a ton of pickup/delivery orders! Don't be fooled by no line, there's still a wait. Totally worth it, just plan accordingly.

I feel really conflicted writing this review. The sandwiches here are phenomenal - 5 stars. However, the owner’s integrity is what led me to leave a one star review. In my previous job, I was in charge of ordering food for meetings. I ordered frequently at Lucia’s (they’re a local small business and their sandwiches taste amazing - what’s not to love?) but one time I ordered to the wrong location. I called in and they told me that there’s no way to cancel but that they’d refund me. They told me to put the same order in again at the correct location. Flash forward a couple of months, as I’m going through my expenses, I realize I was never refunded. No worries, probably an honest mistake I thought. I called the store and asked to speak with Randy (the owner) around 10 times. He was coincidentally “not available” every time at either location. I then got his email and started emailing him - he never responded to a single email or voicemail. I am very disappointed by the lack of integrity and honesty and just the way this entire situation was handled. I have always supported local and small businesses but this really shocked me.
