We stopped here on a whim as we drove down the coast. We had an RV camper and were able to park so that was a big plus. These were the BEST OYSTERS I have ever had in my LIFE. and the Brussel sprouts were amazing too. Service was top notch, every person who worked here was extremely friendly and welcoming (and I'm from Canada so I consider myself a good judge of friendliess 😉) Very clean and unique restaurant with a ton of character of tons of outdoor seating and indoor.
What a gem! We found this place after missing our hotel's brunch. The service was a bit slow but I'll forgive that because the food was so awesome. I had some oysters and the fried chicken and waffles and both were amazing. Would definitely return.
Salmon was to die for, Cajun boil was pretty good, and the atmosphere was quaint. Only 20 mins away from Lawson's Landing campground.
Piney the Elder on tap. Amazing BBQ made on site. And oysters
Just wow. Oysters are definitely fresh and delicious. And the brisket!! We did brisket tacos that were flavored do perfectly and LOADED with meat. They definitely know their way around a smoker. Will definitely be back!
I’ve been visiting Valley Ford for 13 years. I always stay at the Valley Ford Inn and I always dine at Rocker Oysterfellers. Brandon and Shawna are amazing hosts and I love that every time I visit there’s something new and delicious on the menu. Highly recommend the fried chicken, deviled eggs with fried oysters and beignets.
Ahhhmazing. We definitely ordered too much food but damn it, it was worth it! Wow.
Wow, honestly we were so pleasantly surprised by our food! We had the fried chicken sandwich and the pimento burger. I thought, for sure, that my burger was going to leave me hungry because it was only 5 Oz. Man, was I wrong! My husband's chicken sandwich came out HUGE! And the dipper fries were to die for! I chose the side salad, which usually comes with a mustard vinaigrette, which I was informed a bit spicy, so I chose to have the Caesar dressing instead. We left full and happy! Our sandwiches were $19, but most options are going to be in the 20s range jsyk :)
We had dinner there a couple weeks ago. The service and the food was excellent, old fashioned country cooking. We had the pork chop schnitzel with mashed potatoes and a pickled fennel and apple salad. Beer battered onion rings and a beet mushroom salad. And two ginger beers to drink. I would definitely go back 👍
Delicious! Enjoyed everything about this place & will definitely return!
Stopped in after a long trip away from home. This is one of the best ways to celebrate West County food. Had a special, local caught black cod on polenta. Paired it to a nice local sauv. My wife got Cajun shrimp pasta and a gin apple shrub. Just delightful! It was just at sundown, the evening was still warm, so we ate on the patio. Spacious and well lit. Definitely coming back, and would love to check out their happy hour. -J
Service was great and the food was alright. Amazing location however the price reflected that.
Place to be for Christmas in Valley Ford. Great food, great service, with the at home feeling!
This is a must stop if you are passing through! Fantastic spot for homemade fries and local chicken wings. The bloody Mary's are also spot on. They have a great bar area and really cute patio.
The Bartender (Trey?) Was super nice and efficient, with good wine suggestions. The oysters were all Fantastic. We had 3 different preparations. The Shrimp in BBQ Sauce we're good as well. The GM was at the bar doing some work and he was very hospitable as well, and added to the comfortable vide at this place. So glad we were driving by on Oyster Mania Monday!
A Rare Gem! We stumbled upon this place during restaurant week and couldn't be more happy with our find. Nestled on HWY 1 in Valley Ford (Don't blink or you might miss it) the restaurant is quaint, cozy and offers a homey old-style bar setting. The service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. The namesake "Rocker Oysterfeller" are well worth a try and the fried chicken is unforgettable (if you are lucky enough to get it before its gone for the day)! Overall, this place is exceptional and what every restaurant should strive to be. Keep up the good work. We now have "must-stop" every time we head out to the beach!
We stopped here around noon before reaching the ocean. The food was good. The atmosphere of the outside tables were kid friendly and a lot of shade.
Stopped in for a bite after a long hot day at Dillon Beach. Great idea. My wife and I love oysters and they did not disappoint. We also had their beef brisket sandwich. Equally delicious. Comments we had: why did they chop it into tiny cubes on a sandwich? We also felt it was missing something, a sauce, maybe. Staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back and try more things on the menu.
Quaint restaurant with interesting menu and fresh seafood. Everything was delicious! Drink menu was standard cocktails and nice wine selection. Quick, friendly service. Lovely outdoor seating with ambiance. There was a live band when we were there so enjoyed that for a few minutes at the bar before leaving as well.
The food is outstanding, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are seasoned just right. They offer a blend of Texas, California, and Cajun cuisine that works great. From the server, to the bartender, to the busser; all the staff was very friendly and offered great suggestions for food and drinks.
Fun place. Outstanding food that runs the gamut from oysters (duh) served baked (delicious) or raw (ditto), fish tacos (also yum), and fried chicken (which tasted like turkey and was the only 'meh' dish in an otherwise flawless menu). Lively bar with fun cocktails and a well curated wine list. Desserts are also yum. Don't miss this fun little spot.
It is what it says it is - a cozy social house serving up some southern comfort foods. The food was excellent and priced reasonably. Dessert and after dinner drinks did not disappoint and you may not want to share as they were so good! The waiter was prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. Would definitely recommend and return.
This place was a total delight. Great fun service, charming atmosphere and delicious food. Had the jalapeño cheese bread, shrimp n grits, chicken biscuit and beniets to go. All tasty, some of the best grits we've ever had. Shout out to the cool dude working the front and the lovely service from the kitchen Happy we enjoyed our anniversary at such a cute spot on the road. Thank you will return!
This patio is amazing. Dog friendly. Amazing clam chowder, salads and oysters! Saw sea lions, birds and bodega bay! Awesome little dinner place!
The best BBQ Oysters you'll find in the region. We were very surprised and impressed with the Louisiana influenced menu. The duck gumbo was phenomenal, as was the strawberry shortcake.
Hands down the best Oysters I've ever had. Mac n Cheese tastes like my grandmas recipe...and the Nashville Chicken cooked to perfection. 6/5 stars.
Wonderful kitchen with patio dining and a nostalgic bar. Great and attentive servers and wonderful portions and delicious food! Heydi was our waitress/server, was delightful and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Half off oysters on Monday nights! Lovely live music too. Theo is warm and welcoming up front, top-notch bartender. Will be back soon! 🥂
Love this place. I always come here after I hit Bodega. The food is delicious and the bartenders are awesome
We can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! The staff is attentive and friendly and the food is the best in Bodega Bay! Their crab is sweet and succulent, you may pass on the butter it’s so good. Try the crab cakes, you will be happy you did! The owners have a lot to be proud of. Sam and Pam and the entire wait staff are so pleasant. Admittedly we are locals, but we stop at exactly one place on our coast. Best Shona!
This place is awesome. . . Food is amazing and the folks that work there are the best of the BEST FYI, jalapeño pull apart bread . . . Unreal
This place is great! Bobby was awesome. We ate on their outdoor patio and atmosphere was wonderful. We ordered the Roadhouse gumbo, The buttermilk fried Chicken Sandwich and the smashburger. All were great! Prices were reasonable. This was the first time we've been there, but we'll be back.
Our server was amazing. The bloody Mary was the best I've ever had. The local beer was great. A group of 3 of us had ever oyster on the menu, they were all fresh and excellent. The seafood soup was amazing.
Busy holiday week Monday evening. Two people managed to keep a full house fed and drinks topped. I was impressed. Food was fantastic. Oysters were the best I've ever had.
Went on a Monday half price oysters great deal fresh as they get . ... Delicious. Stayed the night the bed was luxury all the way , the room was cozy and very clean . I highly recommend this place.
Live this place. Everyone is super friendly, the food is excellent (the gumbo was fantastic last night, as were the artichoke crabcakes). Small but excellent draft beer selection, & a plethora of wines are available for devotees of the grape.
We were so impressed with our lunch at Rocker’s Roadhouse (in Valley Ford) that we didn’t hesitate to entrust them with the rehearsal lunch for our daughter’s wedding—hosting a party of 20. They exceeded every expectation. The food was incredible, the staff warm and attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere made everyone feel right at home. The local oysters were delicious both cooked and raw, but the real star was the fried chicken—unanimously declared the best any of us had ever tasted, even by friends from Kentucky! Whether you’re stopping in for a casual lunch for two or planning a larger gathering, Rocky Roadhouse delivers on every level. They clearly know how to take care of guests.
We had a great meal for lunch. Buttermilk fried chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes. Onion rings yum. Death and taxes beer
We live this little spot! The menu is somewhat limited; but the dishes they serve are all great! We wish they would serve the fresh oysters with a quantity of 6, as opposed to the 4 that they serve. Otherwise they are delicious and the fried chicken plate was amazing too.
Everything was good 👍 the female cashier was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Rockefeller oysters , cornmeal catfish, and Cajun calamari. Oysters were good although I realized I don't like Bleu cheese. Fried calamari was the best out of the 3 I had. Also know that there's no wait staff. You order, find a table and you have to Clean up after yourself .
Great oysters!! very fresh. The tacos were also very good.
Smoked BBQ pork was pretty tasty.
Rocker's Roadhouse is a throwback to things just being good. Quality food, personable waitstaff, in an enviroment that feels rustically contemporary. Woods abound, soft lighting, it feels comfortable, and homie. The cuisine is farm to table inspired in its freshness, the menu is contemporary with an edge, ofering an eclectic, but familiar taste. There is somethng for everyone, leaving the most discerning palate satisfied. There is an ample drink menu to choose from, including mixed cocktails, local wines and beer. One of the best restaurants in the Valley Ford area, treat yourself to a visit.
Good "roadhouse" in Valley Ford. Friendly staff and good food. Generous servings and freshly made. The $10 drinks also nice touch.
Stopped in for the 1/2 price oysters. My fur baby, Pricilla and I sat on the patio; Haylee, our server, brought ‘Cilla water in a stainless steel bowl. I ordered the barbecue garlic, butter, oysters! The best oysters I have ever eaten. Tender, perfectly seasoned, and served hot. I ordered the fresh baked, pull apart bread with garlic and sea salt, mostly to scoop up the oyster juices. When Haley asked about the oysters, I told her I couldn’t eat one because it was stuck to the shell. She brought me another one. I also had the Dungeness crab and artichoke cakes, and the Yukon, gold potato, and Manila clams chowder. I ate everything! I took home the flat iron steak, fruits, medium, rare, for my husband. He loved it. Can’t wait to go back.
Our dining experience fell short of expectations, particularly regarding service and attention to detail. While the food quality was adequate, several service issues significantly impacted our visit. Our party of nine was seated promptly during a relatively quiet period. However, we had to request service multiple times before our order was taken. Food delivery proved problematic—after a 30-minute wait, seven meals arrived together, but two diners were left waiting. Despite repeated inquiries, one guest finally received her soup while another never received his entrée at all. The billing process revealed additional concerns. At least two items were overcharged compared to menu prices, and resolving these discrepancies required considerable time and effort from our server. Most disappointing was the absence of management intervention—no manager approached our table to acknowledge the issues or offer any resolution.
Unfortunately, this place rebranded. We stop here every time we head to Bodega(which is quite often). It was actually my wife and mines first date years ago. Atmosphere was awesome, food was amazing, and the staff was great! We stopped in a couple of weeks ago hoping for the chowder, and a couple of other things, but they have totally changed the menu! The staff was still great, but we chose to leave, due to the fact that it was not the same. Now it's more of a BBQ joint, with a sign that looks like Texas Roadhouse! It was such a better place the way it was before. We tried to go to the old Lucas warf restaurant, but it was too busy for us. Sorry guys, but we won't be stopping by anymore unfortunately. Thank you for the years of an amazing place though! Best of luck!
Worst meal I've ever had hands down! Last year Thanksgiving dinner was a fantastic experience, so we couldn't wait to go again this year. Beyond disappointing. Overpriced under delivered! The meal was so terrible that we ordered the mains to go we didn't even stay. Never again! The picture shows you what $72 per person will get you. And this is exactly how it was delivered to us. No edits no eating off the plate this was it!
Really bad smoked ribs at Rockers Roadhouse in Valley Ford! Have had several good meals there with excellent service, usually sit out on the patio with our dogs. Had a great lunch on Friday with an over the top friendly bartender serving us. Went back on Tuesday for lunch and had good service but not very friendly. We made poor menu choices this time, my wife had the mushroom poor boy with hardly any mushrooms. I had the spareribs which I figured were probably smoked over the weekend and heated up later. Really bad choice! I could ignore the overwhelming liquid smoke flavor but not the overcooked, rock hard dry ends on every rib! It came with really good hot crispy fries and tasty cole slaw, which I ate first. I was going to take most the ribs home for dinner but found out too late that a lot of it was inedible. I showed the bartender some of these ornaments and he comped me for a beer, said he couldn’t do anything about the food! We’ll probably go back since there’s limited choices in the area but I will absolutely make sure our food is perfect before I start in. Lesson- don’t order there BBQ meals and/or don’t go on a weekday!
My friend and I ate the most disgusting meal today. Large cheese noodles with 6 shrimp on top. My fork literally when stuck in this mess lifted up the hard mess. It appeared it had been frozen or was stale. We've eaten there before and it was good. I brought him there today, a visitor from Pennsylvania. I really should have sent our meals back. I was deeply embarrassed but didn't want to make a scene. INCREDIBLE. I'M STILL IN SHOCK!!
