I went by myself and it was very pleasant. Quiet and relaxing. I ordered a glass of proseco, the salmon, and for dessert my favorite ice cream ( stracciatella) and, of course, an expresso! The service was great, but what I like the most was the pleasant atmosphere.

Another wonderful Italian dinner! 🇮🇹🤩 Highlight of the meal was the Scampi Ravioli. These ravioli were light, soft, and delicate– not heavy at all. The orange butter sauce paired so well with the scampi filling, a combination that I would not have thought of. I should have ordered two of these. 10/10!

We (wedding photographers & planners) were looking for a restaurant that would seat 13 people for lunch for a wedding party. The staff was super helpful and friendly (unlike other restaurants in the area) and made sure that we almost had the whole covered outside area for our group alone. On top of that, the food was amazing!

We were greeted with warmth and friendly enthusiasm by Orlando, who cheerfully accommodated us with a window-side 2 top, in the moment. Absolutely charming. The entire staff works in concert to be sure you are well taken care of. We started our visit here for a sense of local cuisine. You cannot go wrong with a Margherita pizza and a local wine. Thin crust, light hand on the sauce. We also were enticed by another pizzas with two cheeses, pear, and smoked ham. Great blend of salty and sweet. We chose a half bottle of a local wine from area-specific grapes, Nebbiolo. Dry on the edges of the tongue, deep red fruit, great body, old vine flavor. Completely the taste of northern Italy. The building is marvelous— glass walls, at least half of which open to the fresh lakeside air. The view of the piazza and the old chapel is another part of the charm of Varenna.

We had a great time here! The food was absolutely delicious and amazing! The pizza was exquisite! The waitors were a little bit displeases with our big group, and in general they seemed overworked, so they had a little mood. But overall the experience was just amazing. I'm glad we came here after walking around the village.

Centrally located in Varenna this restaurant is very convenient as well as accommodating. The food was good and the staff were nice enough however there is a cover per person to dine. Which is fine but what was a bit frustrating was their add in of a tip on the bill which they state is optional however the waiter made it a point to read that point his finger and passive aggressively ask it be paid. It is a touristy spot and I assume they feel non native tourists will pay it but the way in which staff ask for it is a sad way to end a meal.

The food is delicious but a little bit pricey compared to the quality and other restaurants. I ordered grilled beef but it can be more tender because it is a bit chewy. I would also suggest to season it more. My friend ordered a vegetarian pizza which tastes good. The staff are friendly especially the girl in pink who seems to be the manager or owner, although, I understand that other staff need more training in interacting with customers/guest. The atmosphere is good and good spacing of table. We sat in the side facing the church. Overall, it was nice and giving it 3 for the food but 4 stars for service and atmosphere.

This is a nice restaurant with excellent service and reasonable prices. The food was the best we had in Varenna, including lasagna, risotto, and tiramisu.

We were disparate. No reservation for the first night in. Food was bland. Risotto needed at least salt and more with rice underdone and very little perch. My wife’s salmon was bland, too. Rest of the meal was ok at best. Service staff hustled and were polite.

Great atmosphere and service! Dishes are reasonable in price but very small in portion. I ordered the Fried Lake Fish with Risotto for €18. The risotto was cooked well, but it was just a plain butter sauce, and the fish on top I could barely call it that… I could only see the tiniest amount of fish maybe 5% fish 95% crumb/batter. I was shocked. The pizzas looked good, I think they are the safer option here!

My partner and I had a table booked for the wrong evening sadly, which is our fault. However, we were made to feel stupid for doing so. There was no offer of help or solution from staff and we had to enquire about takeaway food although there were free tables. My partner needs gluten free and was made to feel stupid for trying to order a gluten free pizza that it says they serve online that they no longer offer. We ordered takeaway which we watched the chef unwillingly agree to make. We then waited awkwardly for 20 minutes and was made to feel unwelcome by management and in the way by staff. The food was then cold when we received it, the pizza box was stone cold before we left the restaurant. I've never been made to feel so unwelcome anywhere before, the rest of Italy has been amazing but avoid this place unless you are looking for appalling service. And just to add insult to Injury, when my partner had calmed down enough to open her food, we found the enclosed (pic attached). Apparently we paid €16 euros for that. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE: The Restaurant had responded to say I've left three bad reviews, I haven't, I posted one and so did my partner separately. Secondly, we were told if we wanted to wait around we might get a table but no guarantees and we were not offered any drinks while we waited, we were awkwardly stood around with no guidance from staff or offer to wait anywhere out of the way of the kitchen. You can't write your way out of bad service, don't go here, the 3.5 stars is not low enough. They've even admitted their website is incorrect.
