La Riserva di Castel D'Appio was like being in a fairy tale. Our stay was absolute perfection. From the staff at check in, to the amazing servers, a room right out of a story book with 2 balconies overlooking the sea and beautiful surroundings. The pool is great with a water slide for the kids and adults, I did it myself and jt was fun. The restaurant is to die for with amazing options that were all mouthwateringly delicious. My only complaint is that I could not spend a few more days there and have a few more items on their menu, I will just have to go there again I guess 😁. I highly recommend staying at the La Riserva di Castel D'Appio.

The staff is attentive, the menu caters to seafood lovers and meat eaters...and the kids menu is OtH (Off the Hook). But the best part ..the view is majestic! As far as specifics....the seared tuna, lamb chops and whole fish were exceptional!

Castel d'Appio was a wonderful place to spend the night. They were extremely helpful, especially when we had trouble getting a cab from the train station to the hotel - they arranged it for us. We had to leave super early in the morning and they again saw to it that there was a taxi at the hotel for us, despite the few that are in the town. It's surrounded by lovely vistas, the room was comfortable and clean, and they were all so hospitable! Thanks again :)

We stay here for one night, in our way to Toscana. Amazing view. Be ready for a challenging drive up the hill to the hotel. Room comfortable, would like to have a bigger size, but it's OK. Be ready that bathroom small, it's traditional for italian style. Food in restaurant was good, fresh and tasty. Perfect spot if you want stay in quite pace for couple of days.

Very very kind people and a very nice stay. The food was excellent, the swimming pool fun and the view amazing. The hotel is a little bit dated and the location a little bit strange. But every little minor is easily compensated by the enthusiasm of the people from the hotel! Thank you for the hospitality 😊

We had a room w great view of Mediterranean Sea! Reasonable price and restaurant is great too. The drive to this hotel is tricky on a very narrow uphill road but manageable following the GPS.

The hotel is frozen in time, a real time capsule. If you're into it, you'll love it. Great ambiance and very service oriented personnel. On the other hand if you are into minimalistic design and large rooms. This is not for you. The view is great, a nice swimming pool and a nice breakfast. Lunch and dinner is a la carte and not cheap.. the room & bath room is small. The bed is hard, sqeaky and obsolete and the walls are thin as paper. You can reach the hotel via a 2,5km road. You need to be a skillful driver, very narrow and it is a prettyvwinding road.

We booked last minute and got a delux room at 279 per night. The room seemed fairly standard to me but did have spectacular views. Overall the hotel was nice and at the standard rate of 90 per night it seems reasonable but at the rate we paid there walkers small details which ruined the experience. One use plastic cups at breakfast, no glass wear in the room, a message on the fridge stating it was against the rules to use it for your personal items and a tiny tv from about 20 years ago. All in all a nice hotel but not worth the price we paid

Judging by the over-whelming review responses so far being combative rather than accepting, I did wonder if it were worth writing this. After all, isn’t one positive aspect of an honest review being that those responsible for the establishment can improve? I visited with my husband - one night stay. First things first, acknowledgment where it is due, the owners/people at this establishment are lovely and are intent on giving good service. All are very friendly and courteous -but other than this element, I’m afraid I’m at a loss as to why many other reviews are so at odds with our own recent experience. The views, of course, are absolutely stunning ….. but when that’s been said, nothing else is anywhere close to acceptable, let alone impressive. It’s obvious that the picture-book location is expected to deflect any and all expectations of comfort. There really is precious little. Please don’t expect that the photos were taken this side of the millennium, and at that fast-receding point in time, the decoration and facilities were more than likely passable - but having clearly had zero investment in the fabric since, it has become tired and massively past its sell-by date and in dire need of maintenance on a grand scale. It has to be said, however, that as some buildings fall into decrepitude, they become oddly iconic. Perhaps this is a case in point….. but be warned, don’t expect anything less than an authentic Adam’s Family mansion experience complete with incredible, breath-taking views.

Outdated and kind of a train-wreck. Photos from 20 years ago probably and cleanness of Hotel not the best. Restaurant has a great view but very over-priced for low quality. The biggest disappointment. Service was good overall.
