First off, I have to give a huge shout-out to Jose, who works the parking lot. He is hands down one of the happiest and most positive people I’ve ever met. Rain or shine, he greets everyone with a smile and sets the tone for the whole night before you even step inside. He’s an inspiration and honestly part of the reason I look forward to coming back. Inside, the experience only gets better thanks to Elizabeth, the bartender. She’s the kind of bartender you hope to find but rarely do — friendly, attentive, and unbelievably good at what she does. Whether you want something classic or one of her recommendations, she nails it every time. Her drinks are always on point, and she somehow manages to keep everything moving smoothly no matter how busy it gets. Between the incredible staff, good vibes, and great drinks, this bar has become my go-to. If you’re looking for a place where the people make you feel at home and the service is top-notch, this is it.

I have been a regular customer at Dukes with many of my family members for over 10 years. Dukes is also a place we take all of our visitors to eat either for their wonderful breakfasts, lunches, or wide variety of foods for dinner. A special favorite is Jose, who always greets us and makes us feel so welcome like a member of the Duke’s family whenever we come. The food is wonderful, but my favorite is the staff and the friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend Dukes whether you’re local or a visitor to Ventura. Dukes is also handy if you’re shopping on Seward Avenue or hanging out on Seaward beach. A warm greeting from Jose is just the beginning of a great experience at Dukes.

Very cozy small beach community vibe. It has great hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and a bar. Walking distance to the beach. Surrounded by other restaurants so it's a nice place to check out. Parking is challenging unfortunately

This spot is really amazing! Nice friendly sevice, good food and reasonable prices. We had the Cheeseburger with fries. It was delicious. They have a choice of different beers at the counter and a beautiful patio. We had a real happy good time at your spot. Next time, we're in Ventura we come again - promise. Beach Boy

A favorite local's hangout that includes a restaurant and sports bar, neighboring Seaward Beach. Also, additional seating is available on their outdoor patio, beyond the bar; and a small area when entering through the front door. They have a fairly extensive menu including bowls, hamburgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. However, hamburgers with sweet potato fries are my preference while dining here, but really wish they offered more fries for the price of a meal. Since COVID days, many restaurants significantly raised their prices and reduced quantities to recoup money lost during a horrific time in political history.

I had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The bread was basically garlic toast, and it was good. The tomato soup had a lot of black pepper in it, and yet was also a little sweet. I wasn't a fan. The lady at the register was nice, and there was live music in the bar.

Dukes in Ventura, located not far from the beach on Seaward, remains a longtime family favorite for us, and our recent lunch experience only solidified that sentiment. While the restaurant has evolved over the years, it still retains its laid-back atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for families. With plenty of tables catering to various party sizes, a bar, video games, and a patio, there's something for everyone at Dukes. The counter service setup allows for easy ordering, with food brought to your table once you're seated, while bar drinks are purchased separately at the bar. The menu boasts a variety of options, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish, clam chowder, a kids menu, and various sides. During our visit, we indulged in fish and chips, a BLT, a whole ball of wax cheeseburger, and clam chowder, all of which were consistently delicious with no complaints. While the prices for sandwiches and burgers are slightly on the higher side, averaging around $20 per person for lunch, the quality of the food and the convenience of the location near the beach make it worth it. Dukes also offers a great option for those looking to grab food to go and enjoy a beachside lunch. Overall, Dukes continues to be a go-to spot for us, and we'll definitely be returning for lunch in the future.

We had such a great time here. Indoor and outside seating. Service was great. They were helpful with local information. Located by the beach and easy to get to. FUN Place to go. Great atmosphere!!

Stopped by on a whim and the meal was off the hook!! Perfectly prepared grilled salmon and steamed veggies. Fresh, great taste and texture on the salmon with just a hint of char. Veggies were well seasoned and the ideal texture too -- fully cooked, but crisp tender. My husband had the "Whole ball of wax" burger and house made potato chips and enjoyed it immensely. Not a spec left on either plate. Friendly staff too! Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

It's a nice little cozy restaurant by the beach. Very friendly and casual environment with good food and standard beer offering. We had the Mexican style street corn on the cob, fish taco, and clam chowder in bread bowl. Corn was tasty. Fish taco was not overly breaded, and flavor was on the spot. Clam chowder was also good. Definitely a nice coastal eatery with good vibes and service

This place is awesome. Friendly staff and patrons! I ordered the Duke's cheeseburger with the house made chips (which I recommend over the fries). The cheeseburger was well prepared and picture perfect when it was delivered to our table. Highly recommend Duke's.

My wife & I stopped for lunch. Great local atmosphere. Very clean and well organized. The servers were very friendly & helpful. My wife had the nachos. She liked the nachos as they put the pico de gallo on the side for her. Good guacamole. I had the fish & chips. Very good Cod. The breading was light. The fries were good. I can recommend this place for a good lunch, relaxed bar atmosphere.

Absolutely going to visit this restaurant again and again. It was my first visit and I had a difficult time choosing the burger I wanted as all of them looked delicious. I chose the BSM with French fries. I also splurged and ordered the cup of chili and an order of onion rings (I'm on vacation). Everything was delicious! Dukes also has a great vibe to it and a bar that I want to spend some time at in the future.

4/5 ⭐️s! Everything tasted good, most everything you can find anywhere else. Great location in comparison to the beach 🏝️ 🌊 so, you can eat something then head to the beach! Great 😌 outdoor patio area. Food has high prices due do it being so close in proximity to the beach!!! 🏖️🐚 Service was average. Nothing stood out. Tables, floors, and bathrooms were dirty.

Duke’s was a nice stop for a quick Lunch. It’s in a good location, with just a short walk to the beach. You order right as you walk in the front door, and we had our food within 10 minutes. They had big portions at a reasonable price. We had the Western Burger, which was great, and the seasoned fries were even better. We also had the Three Taco Special, which was alright, just thought they needed a little more of a kick.
