My girlfriend and I spontaneously visited this restaurant tonight and were completely blown away by the exceptional experience. The service was outstanding, attentive, kind, and welcoming. As first-time guests, we were delighted with a complimentary lentil soup, 10/10, which warmed us perfectly on a chilly evening. We started with handmade samosas, the most authentic and delicious we’ve ever had, truly perfect. For our main course, we enjoyed butter chicken and paneer with garlic naan. The portions were generously large, and both dishes were phenomenal, with no flaws to note. For dessert, the rice pudding was simply divine. The atmosphere was relaxing, enhanced by a charming ticker board displaying cute quotes. We regret not taking photos but will definitely return to capture the experience next time. The staff provided convenient take-home boxes, and we’re excited to enjoy the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. This place is a gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

Five stars across the board! The food is amazing and the wait staff are fantastic! Sonny always remembers our favorites and the food is always delicious. We've been trying different things on the menu every time we come in and it seems like very dish is better than the last! The saag naan is an amazing appetizer and I don't even know what to recommend for the entres since they're all so good. Great options ln both the vegan menu and the meat menu. You can't go wrong with anything here!

This food is amazing! Service is stellar. But seriously, the food!! Portions are generous, too, and even as leftovers, the flavors, spices, and textures are on point. Highly recommend! We got the coriander soup—amazing—coconut lamb curry, vegetable korma, vegetable pakoras, garlic naan, and masala chai. It was ALL so delicious!

Came here with my friends today and the food was amazing! Our server was equally as amazing and was very friendly. He was super kind and even talked in some of the best Spanish I have ever heard! I will definitely come back to eat their delicious food :)

Wow, just wow! As a Miami Florida native, I wasn't expecting to find a gem like Himalaya Restaurant in Ventura, California. But boy, was I blown away! The moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the flavors were a perfect blend of Asian and Indian cuisine. As someone who normally sticks to traditional Asian and Indian restaurants, I was hesitant to try something new, but Himalaya exceeded my expectations. The dishes I tried were not only delicious but also expertly crafted, with a great balance of spices and textures. I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back for more in the future when I come back to California. Highly recommend to anyone looking to spice up their dining experience!

This restaurant came recommended by a family member so I thought I would give it a try We got the wedding meal that comes with so much food at a reasonable price. It was perfect for two and I highly recommend it. The food was simply outstanding. I don't think you can order anything here and be disappointed. The staff was attentive but not overly so in a good way. If you have a chance to visit Himalaya Restaurant Ventura you should.

Wonderful food and great experience. I always leave there being satisfied! The veggie samosa is the perfect appetizer to start. I had the vegetable korma and my mom had the jackfruit curry as our entrees. Both dishes were so delicious, full of an inviting aroma to excite and satiate a ravenous palate. Before we left, they gave us a nice rice pudding treat. It was so delicious and full of flavor. I recommend this place. You won't be disappointed

If you've not tried this place, stick it on your list! Get there well before 2:30 in order to not feel rushed by the wait staff. They want you to be out by 2:30, no joke. Yet, even with that rushed experience the food was top notch and the lunch special price couldn't be better. Flavors, spices, heat, and color make this a must return to. I promise to be out by 2:30. :)

I’ve been to this restaurant four times now within the last year (I live in Santa Barbara) and every time I’ve been the waiter that I met the first time remembers me. The butter chicken is the best butter chicken I’ve ever had. I’m not a fan of tomatoes, so in my opinion, it isn’t too tomato-y. It’s so good every single time and the staff is so friendly. They’ve often given us something on the house. Two times I came we were given extra dessert and an appetizer! Love this place and I will continue to come here!!

The food we ordered was amazing. The Gobi Manchurian and mango lassi were perfect. What sets this place apart is the fresh quality of the ingredients used in their dishes. As an Indian, I found the food to have a homely style of cooking, and having visited Nepal three times, I can say the flavors and aroma were very similar to Thakali-style (Nepali thali), like it was prepared by a local Nepali lady in a serene Himalayan valley dhaba (cafe). The hosts are very welcoming, and the atmosphere is authentic, reflecting traditional Nepali Buddhist architecture. The restaurant also has a small gift shop. It's popular with Americans, which indicates that the spice levels are moderate, but generally, Nepali food isn't overly spicy. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Ate here with my friend tonight. It was an awesome experience. The service was phenomenal and the food so delicious. I was very impressed and will be going back. I tried foods that were new to my palette and loved every one! They have a huge wine list I'd like to take advantage of as well! A major plus for me was parking is easy because there's a parking lot. There is a beautiful patio, but we chose to sit inside because it was chilly outside.

Very impressed by this place and look forward to going back. Suggestion for the owners: it’s ok to back off on upselling appetizers; when you push more than what’s adequate, it shows and it’s not a good look. And, when a child orders a meal that you have both on the kid’s section and entrée section, at least clarify before bringing out the adult portion for a 9 year old, then telling the kid they don’t get the ice cream because they ordered the adult portion… c’mon now. All that said, excellent food, nice atmosphere, welcoming and attentive people, and generous portions. Prices are up there but seemed acceptable for the quality of this Nepalese-leaning food. The yak pasta (only item containing yak on the menu) is $20 but worth trying at least once. The cauliflower dish and tikka masala chicken are both excellent. Samosa’s are solid, dumplings are take or leave, and the naan is good. Mango ice cream is something else!

Tonight was my first time here. Lots of available seating inside and outside. Promptly greeted by a friendly staff and seated. Immediately brought out some water and menus. Overall for my first time here i enjoyed myself and plan to return to try other menu items. Some of the Prices to me seem a bit high for the portions of food received on certain Items. Tonight I got the butter chicken in medium heat. It could of used some more flavor and it wasn’t hot at all. I definitely did fill up thankfully to the seemingly bottomless white rice that is served along with your food. The stuffed naan bread was great. The samosas were very large and seem to be a favorite for most everyone. The food here seems to favor the region of Nepal. So if that interest you and you’re ready to spend a bit more for the authentic restaurant vibes then this is a must stop for you. As I said before I look forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.
