Kuu Sushi

When friends visit from out of state, Kuu has been my new go-to for quality fish. I have not found higher quality tuna in Ventura outside of Kuu. I have been impressed 5 of the 5 times I have come here and brought friends as well as family. Everyone has been impressed. Staff is kind and genuine. I hope they stay around for a long time. Edit: many visits later I have yet to be anything less than incredibly satisfied. A new bar has been set!

Fresh sushi and good quality! The miso soup is a little on the salty side, but the munch specials are a great deal. Great portions. The staff is super friendly and nice!

Delicious new sushi spot in Ventura. Fresh Toro, sushi and sashimi were excellent. Will definitely come back!

Kuu Sushi in Ventura totally blew me away. The fish was insanely fresh—like melt-in-your-mouth good—and every bite felt super clean and flavorful. I tried a lot of nigiri and a few different rolls, and honestly, everything was spot on. The staff was friendly without being overbearing, and the vibe inside was relaxed but modern. It’s easily one of the best sushi spots I’ve hit in a while. @sushitraveler

We took our son to Kuu for his birthday dinner. He said it's the best place in Ventura and I have to agree. The food was all fantastic the rolls were delicious and the sashimi was as fresh as it comes. I want to give special kudos to our service and the service. Our sons 96 year old grandmother joined us for dinner and had several unusual requests which our server was went above and beyond to fulfill. Great place with great food.

I really liked the atmosphere of this restaurant. It was very nice and quiet. My server was amazing and she was very helpful and sweet towards me. She showed me some popular recommendations since it was my first time there and I ended up ordering 4 plates to try out. I really enjoyed the sushi. It’s very fresh and delicious. My favorite has to be the Lobster Roll. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant. They also have a happy hour menu starting at 8pm which is so great.

This is our favorite sushi place! Everything is fantastic, the food, the service, the atmosphere and so much more. My kiddo requests this for special occasions and treats, and I love how fresh everything tastes and the phenomenal service of the entire staff. Special shout out to Marco, he has my special order down (pictured). Hint its a "Tiffany" roll (last page of menu) sub salmon for yellow tail outside and sub crab meat for spicy tuna inside. So. Dang. Good.

This was my first time at Kuu. Won't be my last time. Sincerely enjoyed the food and the environment. Everything was tasty. The young man who served our table was very polite and friendly and efficient. I think his name was Leo or gio, sadly I forgot.

We checked out this new spot, and it was totally worth it! We'll be back for sure. The food was amazing, with a great presentation and flavor. The only thing we would complain about is the oyster shooter , was a bit much—good, but way too much liquid.

Tucked away in a corner by Urbane Cafe, this cozy sushi nook is truly a sweet find! The interior is beautiful and the service was fast and with friendly servers. My boyfriend and I wanted a quick dinner before heading home and were not disappointed. The Joe's Special role was fresh, tasty, and just the right amount of spicy! The simple Eel role was delicious, the eel still crispy and warm when we got it. The dinner plate was massive and had a lot of great sides, including pickled cucumbers, salad, gyoza, etc. The sesame chicken tasted amazing and the lemon shrimp was an interesting new experience (not bad! But was definitely a new flavor to us). All in all this place was a great find and we'll definitely be coming back for some date nights!

I've been here a few times already and every visit is perfect. The sushi is always delicious and so is their ramen and soups. I finally tried out the desert Japanese Sweet Cakes and I reccomend it. What I like about this place is its open Later than most restaurants and during its last hours of operstion they have Happy Hour. Its amazing food and drinks at amazing prices.

Kuu Sushi has rocketed to the top of the local sushi rankings for my wife and I. The service is warm and welcoming. The portions are generous and the fish is fresh. We’ve been happy with everything we’ve ordered. It’s the best option in town for rolls. Their lunch menu is also a great value for the quality.

We were a huge group, stopped by here for some dinner. Best sushi in Ventura and they offer a lot of variety!! Definitely a must try and special mention to Hani Blair for her awesome humor and serving us the best experience!! Will visit here again for sure!

I thought the sushi here was excellent. The special rolls are massive and have excellent presentation. The hot sake(standard) is excellent. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food. I would definitely eat here again.

Amazing sushi. Super fresh !! One of the only places that serves Uni in this area. The fish is so fresh there’s no “ fishy aftertaste” Service is a hit or miss but that’s fine. Here for the quality sushi . Price is pretty standard in this area. Pretty acceptable.

It took a sushi chef pointing it out to the manager before anything happened. There were plenty of employees on the floor, but no clear direction. The manager reprimanded a server about being on her phone, which I understand, but doing so in front of a packed restaurant wasn’t ideal. To top it off, when a large party arrived, the entire staff was pulled outside to rearrange tables—while food once again sat waiting at the counter. At one point, I was tempted to serve it myself. Great sushi, but the service and management really need improvement.

Grabbed takeout from here today and the place was packed. Sushi was OK. Maybe it's the best in Ventura, I'm not sure. But as someone from the LA area, I only found it decent.

Great sushi, poor service. We were becoming regulars and really enjoying the restaurant despite some ordering issues and service we were experiencing majority of the time we would dine there. The last 2 times, the service was just terrible. The servers definitely had low moral, it was palpable. The owner, despite us coming in at least 10 times would barely acknowledge us. Too bad, we really did like eating here... we will just go back to anaba.
