I recently dined at Il Tinello East and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The veal parmigiana was outstanding perfectly tender, flavorful, and a true standout among classic Italian dishes and frankly the best I've ever had. We also ordered the martini chicken, which was equally excellent and beautifully prepared. Both entrées were memorable and executed with care. The service was outstanding throughout the evening: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm without ever feeling intrusive. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere it made for a relaxed and refined dining experience. Il Tinello East delivers classic Italian cuisine at a high level and I would happily return to enjoy it again.

My wife and I were visiting from Austin, the food was delicious and the presentation of each dish was meticulous. I was very impressed, the staff were very friendly and extremely attentive. Our waiter Ray was what I will remember most about the restaurant, he is one of the main components that made our visit to Tinello memorable, as we were leaving, his shift had just ended and he shared some great stories about the restaurant and what made him love his job there. We will be coming back to visit Ray and the staff at Tinello when we’re back in New York, Cheers!

This place is a classic. Service is awesome, food is exceptional, and vibe is perfect. Arta (bartender) makes fantastic drinks. Ray (server) knows the menu great. Benny owns the place and makes it great! Definitely recommend the Caesar salad, Larry’s pasta, veal shank, and the chicken sorrentino.

My husband and I go to Tinelo at least every couple of weeks . it’s truly become one of our favorite places. We absolutely love Mr. Benny, and the bartender A is wonderful as well. The whole team always does such a great job, and the food is consistently delicious. If you’re looking for the best Italian restaurant in NYC, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Very classy Italian place, I ordered the truffle Risotto which is very fragrant and truffly. It’s not very greasy and comes w mixed mushrooms. Complimentary bruschetta also really good. The peppers that came as appetizers were super spicy though.

Dining at the Il Tinello restaurant exceeded our expectations of a great italian dinner in NYC. The staff was amazing, we were greeted in a very warm and welcoming manner and they sat us next to the window for a nice street view! The food was amazing we had the Spaghetti Carbonara, which i practically was licking the plate, followed up with two amazing desserts, Tiramisu and Chocolate lava cake topped with ice-cream. SO YUMMY. Then we had a cappuccino with irish cream to end the night. The servers were so attentive, knowledgeable, and kind and the owner Benny Bello had a very charming and welcoming personality. He even gifted us a complimentary prosecco to welcome us in for our first time there. We saw him greeting each and every customer and making everyone feel at home!! Truly can’t recommend this place enough!!

We were extremely excited to try Il Tinello after reading many positive reviews and our first impression walking in, lived up to our expectations, so were confident our evening would be excellent. Shortly after being seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink and proceeded to ask for a wine menu, which the waiter said they didn’t have. We didn’t feel comfortable ordering a bottle of wine without seeing the options available first. Eventually, we were given a menu by another waiter but begs the question why we didn’t receive one in the first place? The starters provided were very tasty and were enthusiastic to try our mains, which arrived very quickly after finishing the bread and peppers… Two pasta dishes arrived which were both very tasty and portions were plentiful. The dishes were taken from us immediately after finishing and then were asked about dessert straight away, by which point we began to feel rushed. There was no dessert menu and were read the options verbally which meant we didn’t have time to really think about the pudding we wanted and instead had to pick something there and then. Again, the desserts came out almost immediately after ordering and before we had even finished our plate, the waiter took the half-eaten dessert away and then asked had we finished when he had the plate already in his hand. The bill was given to us very promptly after the dessert plates were taken and still had half a bottle of wine left. It now was apparent that we were being rushed to vacate, but couldn’t understand why as there were about 3-4 spare tables… Unfortunately, this ruined our evening as a $200 meal should not result in feeling hurried out. We were in the restaurant for under an hour to put things into perspective… The waiters were attentive but, sadly, their haste to get us off the table and clean it for the next customer, ruined our experience/evening and would not return due to this.

I spent the evening here with my girlfriend, and we were looking forward to enjoying quality Italian cuisine in a nice setting. The atmosphere itself is charming, but the lights were flickering the entire time. I mentioned it to the waiter, who acknowledged it but didn’t take any action to fix it. Service was extremely fast, too fast. Within five minutes, three different staff members asked if we wanted an aperitivo and two asked about water. While attentiveness is usually appreciated, this felt overwhelming and disruptive. The same happened during the meal: plates were taken away before we had even finished chewing. We ordered starters, mains, and dessert and were out in under 60 minutes, which gives you an idea of how rushed the whole experience felt. Even after asking for a moment before dessert, our request was ignored and another waiter came by almost immediately. For drinks, we had a prosecco and a Negroni. The Negroni was poorly made: warm, with just a single piece of melting ice, which was very disappointing given the price. You get much better cocktails for less money. As for the food: • The meatballs in red sauce, recommended by the waiter, were fresh and decent. • My girlfriend’s carbonara was underwhelming, no crema at all, and didn’t taste any guanciale. • I had the pollo scarpariello, which lacked flavor, although the chicken itself was tender. We ended with a cheesecake that was slightly dry but acceptable. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the restaurant’s strong ratings and higher price point. The rushed service and inconsistent food quality really took away from what should have been an enjoyable evening.
