We booked for a Sunday lunch at this trattoria to enjoy typical Mantuan cuisine. We really appreciated the comprehensive menus and the care in the search for selected raw materials. Helpful and smiling staff, very nice outdoor patio refreshed by providential irrigations on the awning to cool off in the sunny summer heat. When you're in the Mantua area, the standard you expect is inevitably very high, so a 4* here is like a 6* anywhere else in Italy. From appetizers to desserts, the portions are just right and the quality is top-notch. Pumpkin tortelli: thin pasta, flavorful filling, subtle toppings. Perfectly cooked. For the main course, cotechino (a little too spicy for my taste) with cabbage and grilled polenta. There's a wide selection of desserts; almost all are accompanied by delicious zabaglione. Good value for money. I forgot about the bread and breadsticks. Very good.

I came here because a friend brought me there. The atmosphere was nice, the person who took the order was friendly, the service was good, and everything arrived in one go. The pasta was homemade; the tagliatelle, in my opinion, cooked 30 minutes too long and some were sticky. The mushrooms were very good. The desserts were superb, the meringue pie assembled on the spot, amazing and not too heavy. With a bottle of wine, the price was fair. Worth a try if you're in the area.

We had a Sunday lunch at this delightful restaurant on the outskirts of Mantua. As soon as you enter, you immediately feel at home and are greeted by the kind and knowledgeable staff. The dining room is intimate and elegant, yet not overly "pretentious." This elegance is immediately evident in the table setting and helps you feel at ease. The welcome from the house, accompanied by an aperitif, was appreciated. The menu is traditional, with off-menu options readily explained by the staff. The wine list offers a good selection, and I definitely recommend saving room for their desserts (I personally found the invisible apple cake and zabaglione to be truly superb!!!). The price is reasonable for the dishes you choose. This is definitely a place to return to, and I highly recommend it if you're in the area. ..Congratulations to the entire Stella staff.

A spartan place, more like a tavern than a restaurant. The dishes offered are traditional and of excellent quality. Portions are not overly generous. The cured meats are definitely worth trying. Homemade bread and breadsticks. Attentive and attentive staff. Average value for money.

We returned to this restaurant after a few years, following a visit to the city of Mantua, for dinner, having been positively impressed the first time by the quality and attention to detail of the food and the overall ambiance. Our choice fell on a cheese tasting with various sauces, meat and fish main courses, two side dishes, and a dessert. What we found positive was definitely the bread packaging and the complimentary gift at the end. Everything else was a sore point: the cuisine, with dishes that were careless and too superficially prepared. The venison lacked the typical gamey aromas, making it almost like a goulash; the pike, boiled and then seasoned with Salina capers and accompanied by polenta, was completely disjointed. A side dish of pumpkin was served boiled and nothing else, as were the chard, all served on overly generous plates. Finally, the dessert: a Montblanc served in a novel way with cream that wasn't fresh, chocolate that wasn't particularly dark, and no rum. Only the chestnut preparation inside was good. Another sore point: the service was too fast. We practically finished dinner in an hour, consuming one dish after another without any pause. Since our previous experience, we've missed the quality of the food served at the table. The cuisine isn't expertly prepared and is rather sketchy. Another sore point: the tables, more suited to a bar than a restaurant. The bathrooms were tidy and clean, although dated. We definitely won't be returning. The next day, the owner contacted me both by phone and WhatsApp, severely insulting me for the review I left, adding, to his poor culinary skills, his immense rudeness and arrogance. Highly not recommended!!!!
