Disponibilità e servizio Top. Cibo di ottima qualità. Siamo arrivati con due bambine di 3 e 11 anni dopo un lungo viaggio in auto e abbiamo trovato massima disponibilità del Titolare che nonostante senza prenotazione e locale completamente pieno, ci ha permesso di mangiare piatti tipici gustosi e caldi. Heartily welcomed by the moment we stepped foot into what looked like just a bar, and led to the dining area split into 2 sides - each side accomodating about 20 people. The servers were friendly, the chef came out to greet us with recommendation. We had Ragu pasta, Pesto pasta (of course!!), and our favourite was a Shrimp pasta with tomato and zuchinni! Proseco was a little pricey but we loved it. Tiramisu for dessert, best one we had in Italy so far...we've only been to Milan and Turin at this point.

Very nice traditional regional dishes, cooked and presented beautifully. The parmigiana di acciughe was excellent, full of flavour. The restaurant is very cosy and we sat outside Really tasty starter with lightly fried anchovies, octopus with potatoes and bruschetta with mixture of goat cheese / cream and anchovies fillets on top! Then 3 pasta dishes with pesto, ragu and the amazing anchovies with bread crumbs. Homemade Tiramisu and Penna Cotta for dessert. Complimented with a bottle of Rebo Rigotti and a bottle of Traiano! The host Valerio was great and the staffs were very hospitable. Definitely a place to visit for the best local cuisine!

To begin, I was absolutely bewildered at some of the negative and some outright ridiculous reviews (in my opinion) regarding this business, therefore as a level 8 contributor with over 13 million views to date as well as being a frequent traveller to Italy, Liguria in particular, I hope you will read this as being truly honest and genuine. My wife and I had to stay overnight in Genova enroute back to the UK and as we were in the Brignole area around 7pm I took to Google to find a nice eatery rather than being somewhat restricted around the airport. Rustichello Restaurant looked ideal, only a few minutes walk from the train station, our kind of local cuisine and it opened for dinner at 7pm, perfect. We arrived a couple of minutes before opening however the female staff member setting up the outside tables was extremely friendly and accommodating directing us (and our luggage) indoors and to a table and were we lucky as by 7.30/8.00pm they were full. The staff were professional, courteous and friendly and although busy within a short period of time, were always attentive and quick. Onto the food, well what can I say, other than outstanding. To begin you are given some lovely warm, fresh bread and focaccia which was regularly replenished. Our starters were their popular trofiette al pesto and a pasta with salted anchovies, butter and crushed walnuts. Both dishes were definitely fresh and homemade, perfectly cooked and very flavoursome. The pesto was thick and creamy accompanying the trofettie perfectly and definitely traditional. The anchovy and walnut pasta was also very good with good depth of flavours and topped with a small fried squid which was a nice touch. The dish was and only in my opinion slightly dry with maybe benefitting with more butter or some oil but overall full of flavour and perfectly cooked. For our mains, we had beef tagliata and the crispy octopus. Again both dishes very tasty and full of flavour, the beef cooked perfectly accompanied by a few roasted potatoes and a rocket salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked then what seemed deep fried for a very short time in order to crisp the exterior, served on a bed of puréed, buttery potato and a lovely red onion and olive side. For dessert we opted to share the homemade tirrimisu as we always do no matter where we go, probably just to compare regional recipes, not that we need a reason and their’s was not to disappoint. The highlight however was what we ended with. We shared a lemon sorbet with fresh basil and pink peppercorn. Wow, this was a palette cleanser on another level. The basil flavour was bold yet did not kill the lemon flavour just strange seeing a green lemon sorbet, it was a sure winner to finish off the meal, well apart from the obligatory limoncello that is, chilled and not cheap and syrupy like many. We had 2 or 3 bottles of sparkling water and a bottle of Cinque Terre Ligurian white wine. Overall we were just over €100 which for 3 courses of that calibre with wine, I feel was a great price and for that quality of food elsewhere down the coast i.e Santa Margherita Ligure, we would have been €150 or more. Finally as we paid, the very friendly owner struck up a conversation about golf and whiskey with us being from Scotland even offering us a free dram from his collection. Overall, the staff, service, food and price was very good and to then get the customer service we did at the end, money really can’t buy! We will be sure to visit again the next time we are in Genova. Grazie Mille

Excellent preparation of simple, local, and quality ingredients. We loved each dish we had but the spinach ravioli with artichokes and shrimp; the crispy octopus; and the vanilla gelato with orange, pepper, and sea salt are absolute musts. They have a simple but nice wine list and great grappa. The staff was warm, patient, and helpful. There is clearly an emphasis on exceptional hospitality. Even though the restaurant was busy, our courses were timed well and we never were without anything. Our only disappointment is that we went to Rustichello on our last night and we will not be able to go back. But when we come back to Genova, we know the first place we will go to. This was our favorite meal in Italy, if you are in Genova add this to your list!

Durante il mio soggiorno per lavoro a Genova la prima sera ho cenato all’Osteria Rustichello, un locale caldo e accogliente dove si respira un’autentica atmosfera ligure. Ho assaggiato le trofie al pesto: davvero eccellenti, probabilmente uno dei piatti migliori del mio viaggio. Lo staff è stato gentile e disponibile, contribuendo a rendere l’esperienza piacevole. Unico aspetto migliorabile: il tavolo 4, dove sono stato fatto accomodare, è situato proprio accanto alla finestrella della cucina. Il continuo suono del campanellino delle comande ha un po’ disturbato l’atmosfera. Anche i soffitti piuttosto bassi possono dare una leggera sensazione di chiusura. Detto ciò, nel complesso è stata una cena positiva, grazie alla qualità del cibo e alla cordialità del personale. Consigliato per chi vuole gustare piatti tipici in un ambiente semplice ma autentico.

Esperienza altalenante all’Osteria Rustichello Ho recentemente cenato all’Osteria Rustichello, un locale accogliente situato nel cuore di Genova, a pochi passi dalla stazione di Brignole.  Punti di forza: • Il croccante di polpo con cipolle di Tropea caramellate è stato il vero protagonista della serata: esterno perfettamente dorato, interno tenero e saporito, accompagnato da cipolle dolci che bilanciavano splendidamente il piatto. • Il sorbetto al limone e basilico ha chiuso il pasto in modo fresco e originale, lasciando un piacevole ricordo. • Il personale si è dimostrato gentile e disponibile, contribuendo a creare un’atmosfera cordiale.  Aspetti da migliorare: • I primi piatti hanno deluso le aspettative. Gli scialatielli alle vongole, in particolare, erano eccessivamente unti e privi del sapore distintivo delle vongole. • I tempi di attesa tra le portate sono stati piuttosto lunghi, rendendo l’esperienza meno fluida di quanto sperato. In sintesi, l’Osteria Rustichello offre alcuni piatti di qualità e un servizio cordiale, ma ci sono margini di miglioramento, soprattutto nella preparazione dei primi piatti e nella gestione dei tempi di servizio

Il cibo è buono, alcuni piatti davvero ottimi altri probabilmente hanno patito un momento di crisi della cucina. Il servizio spazia tra cortesia e professionalità e la tipica accoglienza ligure degna dei pirati dei caruggi, forse un altro momento di crisi... Il locale è nel classico fondo genovese: soffitto basso a volte, muri in pietra, scale per scendere un po' sotto il livello strada e nessun segnale sul cellulare che per pranzare in tranquillità va benissimo.

Ho cenato insieme alla mia famiglia lo scorso sabato. Sul cibo nulla da dire, era tutto molto buono e porzioni generose. Abbiamo avuto un problema con il seggiolone per la mia bimba, poichè la struttura era sfornita, o meglio ne aveva soltanto uno già prenotato. Avrei preferito saperlo in fase di prenotazione del tavolo piuttosto che sul posto. Visto il disagio mi sarei aspettata uno sconto su un coperto o almeno un amaro offerto, invece nulla di tutto ciò. Per quanto il cibo sia stato apprezzato, l'accoglienza non è stata altrettanto. Peccato.

Good food but not spectacular, very nice service, a bit spicier on the prices than somewhere else. From what we ordered: excellent foccacia, good pesto and ragu pasta, good octopus, noce seabass with potato (a bit too much oil but the fish was nicely done). The only grain of salt was tge Amarone which did not worth 12 euro a glass. Otherwise everything decent, size portions ok (including tge wine) and food cooked ok (as opposed to some contrary reviews that i have read before). Bill for everyrhing (and some water at the table - five dishes - three fish two pasta - and one glass of wine 107 euros.

Finding this gem was just the blessing of passing by, a traveler in search of food. The first look is a bit crowded but as you enter in the Taverna it is a cozy, pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend the pesto, delicious. Bread and wine were abundant as well. My compliments to the chef.

The place is quite small so make sure you book your table for dinner. They usually book from 7pm to 9pm or from 9pm until closing. Only two tables available for outdoor sitting. The staff was nice. We had the pasta and the sea-bass. The pasta were great, but we were disappointed by the size and the taste of the fish dish. Average prices.

Their pesto is heavenly delicious. I did not intend to finish the entire dish, but I did, involuntarily, because it is irresistible. The pesto is very well balanced. Nothing is overwhelming. In particular they do not use pecorino cheese which in my opinion would be too strong for the delicate basil. So their pesto is simply PERFECT. The fried cod fritter is much bigger than I expected. It is very well done, crispy and juicy, and it does not taste very oily afterwards. The crispy octopus, well, this needs to be improved. They pair it with caramelized onion which I love, but they use too much oil in the onion which make it impossible to eat. I would suggest to use water as a base and the same result can be achieved, but much lighter. Also I think the frying oil needs to be changed. It must have been used too many times and it starts to turn rancid, and it kind of contaminates the delicate flavor of the octopus. Great service by the way. This restaurant definitely has potentials and I would love to give it another try in the future.

Cena per due. Zuppe di moscardini con pesto buoni...poi presa parmigiana di acciughe. Rispetto alla ricetta scritta sul menù hanno aggiunto del pesto rovinando l'idea originale del piatto che ha perso il suo sapore originale. Servizio un po' spartano..da migliorare soprattutto il cameriere un po' invasivo. Purtroppo prezzo esorbitante per 4 piatti ed acqua senza vino di 42 Eur a testa.
