Greta food and service. The restaurant is a hidden gem, its not easy to spot from the main street. It was the first pasta that i had in Rome, but later i find out that it was one of the best. I just had the Cacio and Pepe and my wife had the Carbonara, both of them really well seasoned.
A small trattoria hidden in an alley near the Coliseum. Our guide told us he celebrated all his important dates here. And he should. They serve perfect pasta and a very good house wine. You can get fancier but why should you. The gricia was heaven, the carbonera outstanding and the risotto with seafood made me want to lick the plate. Find this place.
The best restaurant we tried in Rome! We went on 2/13/23 and loved it so much we went back on Valentines Day. No reservation but they remembered us & sat us down quickly. EVERYTHING was delicious! Fresh seafood, delicious pasta, and the service was top notch. We have a 1 day layover in Rome on 10/5 so we are definitely going to stop by again!
Wow, we weren’t expecting it to be this good. We were exhausted after a long tour, and just wanted something near our hotel. I loved the energy here, and our server was very kind—he even told us we are ordering too much and suggested to remove one 😅. Loved their calamari salad, egg plant parmesan, calamari “steak”, seafood pasta, and the pasta vongole. We will definitely return when we come back to Rome.
We had the best experience eating here on our first day in Rome. We have been traveling the past couple weeks eating our way through Italy and our server was fantastic, not to mention the food here was so good! We had the pasta with mussels, fresh caught fish with sliced potatoes and the lemon meringue cake wow and homemade lemoncello, it was just such a great meal and experience with every bite. Highly recommend coming here, and thank you to our server, for a very special experience.
A hidden gem with good old fashioned service. Good was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice quiet atmosphere. Bounissimo!

My recent visit to this charming Italian restaurant in Rome left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was a delightful experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, the restaurant exuded an authentic Italian ambiance, with warm tones and inviting decor that set the stage for a memorable evening. The menu boasted a variety of traditional Italian dishes, and after much contemplation, we settled on the cannelloni and beef. The cannelloni, filled with rich ricotta and spinach, was a flavorful delight, showcasing the chef’s dedication to authentic flavors. The beef dish, cooked to perfection, was tender and succulent, a testament to the kitchen’s culinary expertise. While the taste and presentation were commendable, I must acknowledge that the prices were on the higher side. Although the quality of the dishes justified the cost to some extent, it might deter budget-conscious diners from fully enjoying the experience. I believe a slight adjustment in pricing could make this gem of a restaurant more accessible to a broader range of patrons. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff members who added to the positive atmosphere. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Their commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction elevated the overall dining experience. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant’s location in Rome contributed to its charm. The subtle background music, combined with the dim lighting, created an intimate setting suitable for a romantic evening or a gathering of friends and family. In conclusion, despite the slightly higher price point, this Italian restaurant in Rome offers a delightful dining experience that combines authentic flavors, attentive service, and a warm ambiance. Whether you’re a tourist exploring the culinary delights of Rome or a local seeking a special night out, this establishment is worth a visit for a taste of Italy in the heart of the city.
La Cabana is a restaurant in the touristy area of Rome, Italy. When we first arrived in the city, we were super hungry and had checked in to our hotel (Corso 281). Our hotel recommended that we go to La Cabana and tell them that we were sent there from “Corso 281” specifically. The restaurant is a bit hidden in an alley, and when we walked in, it was extremely busy. They said they didn’t have a table, but as soon as I said our hotel sent us, we were seated instantly! [PASTA] +Cacio e Pepe for €16 - 4/5 +Off the menu item (linguini, tomato, and seafood) for €16 - 4/5 Overall, everything was good at La Cabana. If you’re hungry for a quick bite and are in the area, this place is a safe bet.
The waiter was amazing, he was attentive, generous and friendly. The cannelloni was scrumptious with a white sauce and herbs though the portion is petite. The ravioli was flavorful with the tomato and meat sauce and good portions. The restaurant is air conditioned which is ideal during the high heat of the summer. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve had, rich coffee flavor and delicate creamy cake.
We were three, visited in September 2016. We had steak, lamb chop and seafood risotto. Steak was nicely cooked, it was tasty and portion was good. The lamb was nicely cooked and seasoned but it was quite small and it didn't come with any side. So you'll need to have an appetizer or an side dish to fill you up. The risotto was quite filling, amount of seafood was decent.I find it nice but a bit dried like the risotto didn't absorb the sauce well. And my dad found it just okay. We didn't have dessert but the way they served dessert was very interesting, they would bring out all selections for you to choose, I saw quite a lot of Italians ordering Tiramisu that night. It was a midrange dinner. It was a nice meal but not amazing enough for me to give up trying other restaurants if I'm in town again. Still I'll recommend.
Delicious food, good portions and very friendly staff. Couldnt fault it. Good value for money. Definitely book a table as gets very busy.
The seafood risotto tastes really good. But the penne with meatballs was OK. As there are only 5 small pieces of meatballs. The bread is not fresh and is as hard as the statues i saw in the roman forum. Service is ok, but there are a few flies in the restaurant. One landed on a piece of my penne just after i took a picture of it. 🤢🦟
The service felt rushed and unwelcoming, which really took away from the overall dining experience. For the high prices, I expected much better flavors and presentation. Unfortunately, the place felt more like a tourist trap than a restaurant that truly values its customers. There are many better options nearby that offer more authentic food and friendlier service. Overall, I was disappointed by both the staff’s attitude and the lack of value in what was served. —————— ANSWER TO OWNER: Any business that refuses to welcome constructive criticism and instead clings to its own perceptions is inevitably doomed to fail. I witnessed how two groups were denied dinner vouchers at the restaurant, and the responses to them were rather disdainful. This is not a matter of whether I am open-minded or not; if you, as the restaurant owner, choose to respond in that way, then there’s truly nothing more to expect. I sincerely hope you keep doing as ‘well’ as you believe you are, then. :)
