I had an incredible lunch today at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant! The atmosphere was lively making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Our waiter was extremely attentive and on point from start to finish. The warm pretzel bread rolls came out fresh and didn’t last long at our table—they were that good! We started with the sweet chili calamari and the crispy Brussels sprouts, both packed with amazing flavor. I had a tough time choosing my entree, but I’m so glad I went with the Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon. It came with wasabi-buttered mashed potatoes and Asian coleslaw, and everything paired perfectly. The salmon was cooked to absolute perfection, and the glaze was mouthwatering. I literally forced myself to finish every bite because it was just that delicious. If you haven’t been yet or are on the fence, I promise, you will NOT be disappointed. This place would even make an amazing date night spot with its great vibes and standout dishes.

We’ve been wine club members since 2019 and it all started with our very first visit in December 2018. We instantly fell in love with the wine, the food, the service and the incredible atmosphere! Since then, it’s become our absolute favorite place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, milestones and any moment that deserves something special. It’s a perfect place to gather with loved ones, enjoy delicious wine and amazing food, all paired with amazing service. And the wine tastings? Always such a fun and memorable experience! And definitely try their “Brunch & Bubble” menu on Saturday and Sunday 😍🍷

So I picked this place for my birthday dinner this year and let me just say it did not disappoint. The restaurant was so clean, the staff was so nice and our waiter was the bomb. Ok so we started off with the wine tasting. OMG them 8 glasses of wine had both of us feeling right. We tried the sweet wines. Let's just say before I left that counter I was a 2 bottle wine member. After we did the tasting it was time to eat. Again this place never disappoints. The food was so so so so good. Let me just say I will definitely be coming back again and again.

Arrived for our reservation at 1230. Watched 3 others behind us get seated. We were told the table had to be prepared. Seated at 1245. That was the only reason we marked service at 4 stars. Everything after that was phenomenal! Our server Kenny was on point and was extremely professional. The manager also provided us compensation for our wait, even though we never complained! Love this restaurant 😍!

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating Mother’s Day at Cooper’s Hawk, and I can’t say enough about the incredible experience we had. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming — the perfect setting for such a special occasion. A huge shoutout to Adam, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel truly valued and appreciated. He set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. The entire Cooper’s Hawk staff was equally impressive — kind, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient. Our food came out perfectly timed, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. Every course exceeded expectations, and you could tell the kitchen and service teams were working in perfect harmony. Thank you to everyone at Cooper’s Hawk for making our Mother’s Day celebration so memorable. You turned a simple dinner into a lasting memory, and we can’t wait to come back again!

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (no turkey for us; too many other delicious items on the menu), great service!

Shout out to Amy - she recommended this place for lunch after our house closing. Upon entry - the atmosphere was awesome. Customer service was 10 out of 10. The menu has a good variety to choose from, the wine selection and menu compliment each other very well. A great way to spend my birthday with my husband. We will have to come back for the wine tasting and to get my husband more truffles. ❤️

Each course of our meal was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and expertly paired with exquisite wines, elevating the dining experience to new heights. What truly stood out was the impeccable service; the staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our evening was flawless from start to finish. After being to the Chicago location I was eager to try this Virginia Beach location. The trio of medallions is what I got each visit but this locations meat seemed lacking in tenderness.. same meat same place maybe the cow. Either way the manager, Jen, was fantastic! She was extremely personable and understanding of my experience. I even signed up for the wine club of the month after her recommendation of the “sweet red” which is absolutely delicious 😋 I look forward to coming back and giving the food another try because the atmosphere and people here are really great! Updated 1/11/24 excellent service, food and wine recommendations. Great turnaround from two weeks ago, keep it up! 👍🏻

9/20/25 - was invited for a friend birthday dinner. The front is like a mini store plus a long bar to try the wines. We were seating just behind that area at a round table. You are given complimentary pretzel upon seating. We ordered the appetizers the egg rolls, classic tomatoes bruschetta, and the brussel sprouts. All three appetizers were very good. The flavors were great and great portion for a table of 7. I got the soy ginger salmon as my meal and the lobster crab soup. The soup lacked flavor and tasted only like cream which I was a bit disappointed by. My salmon also tasted like salmon and not much flavor. Could barely taste any soy ginger sauce they used. The Asian coleslaw was nice. My friend got the gnocchi carbonari pasta which tasted pretty good. Our server was great and paired a great wine with my friends dinner. The appetizers or my favorite but my meal lacked considering the pricing. Would love to come back to try some wines and eat some appetizers though.

We chose Cooper's Hawk since my daughter joined their wine club and said the food was really good. Upon entering you there is no clear indicator of where you go to get a table. The entry is busy with little tables of things to purchase, one bar, a 'check in" and "check out " counter, then another counter under a Cooper's Hawk sign. After putting our name on the list to get a table, the wait was 30 min for inside or outside. Our preference was outside. The restaurant was roughly 50% empty inside. So I assumed they were down on staff. 50 min later we asked how much longer and they said they were clearing a table. Unfortunately, that table was inside. It would be a little longer for outside. This is why I gave 3 stars! Kenny was our server, and he was very pleasant. Our drinks did take a few minutes to come out (wine and a mocktail). Appetizer - Calamari, the other two throughly enjoyed. My daughter ordered the Grouper which was so delicious! I had the Cliantro Ranch Chicken and a side salad. The chicken was tender and everything went well together! My salad did not come out, and after asking it took some time. The last order was the Prime sandwich. I did not taste, but looked delicious! As far as atmosphere, it is a wide open space, so nothing to block noise. Towards the end of our meal there happen to be a very loud girl 3 booths down, and we were all happy to be leaving because it was a level of loud that was disruptive.

Came here to eat for a date night. It was a very nice atmosphere and experience. Wines are all tasty. The food was really good. Booked a reservation in advance but still had to wait a bit. Food: We had the Asian Ahi Tuna Sashimi appetizer, Gnocchi Carbonara, and Parmesan Crusted Mahi Mahi. The sashimi was room temp which slightly concerned me but it was good and nothing came of it. I was also worried about ordering the only sushi on the menu of a place that isn't known for sushi. (We have been binge watching kitchen nightmares so that doesn't help.😅) The Mahi Mahi was my favorite and absolutely delicious with the broccolini. Drinks: Blueberry Acai Sparkling Sangria, Camille Magnificent, Romance Red, Lux Ice, and Lux Cabernet Sauvignon. The Camille was on the same dryness level as the Lux Cab; dry but with a different flavor, which I enjoy with food. The Romance red tasted like red grape juice; very enjoyable and sweet. The Lux Ice tasted like the juice from one of those plastic dole peach fruit cups; very sweet, fruity, dessert wine. Service: Service was great at first. Very responsive and decent. Towards the middle/end of our dining, our waitress was scarce. I was considering dessert but by the time we saw the waitress again, I was ready to leave. All drinks were empty and all plates cleaned for at least 10-15 minutes while we waited for her return. Side rant: They do not offer military discount which I think is ridiculous. So many places are going away from this and it just shows me how greedy they are. It's only a 10% discount usually. Plus we are expected to pay a minimum of 18% tip to the server instead of the company paying employees higher wages. Whatever happened to 15% being excellent service?

We came with a large group and the server was so good! She handled all of us gracefully, and the food was delicious!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. They have excellent cocktail choices and an extensive menu. I had their lunch special, which was a short-rib grilled cheese with tomato bisque, and it was great. I would love to return again and check out their wine options. Highly recommend if in the area.

Decided to make a reservation here for dinner. The environment is clean and modern, not really what I’d call upscale though. It is also pretty noisy, so don’t come here if you want a quiet, relaxed, intimate dinner. The service was great! Our server Harrison was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, and was prompt in getting our orders out in a timely manner. Most of the wines were good except for the glass of merlot I got, it tasted the same as the cheap merlot I get from the grocery store. The pinot noir and super tuscan both tasted better, richer, and more velvety. The lux white meritage was pretty good, lightly sweet, crisp, and refreshing. The chocolate almond, blueberry, and rhubarb dessert wines were also really good and sweet. Unfortunately I was very unimpressed with the food. The cramp, shrimp, and lobster bisque was delicious and flavorful, the pretzel bread was light and fluffy, and those were the best parts. My shrimp and scallop risotto was so bland that no amount of being wine drunk could have made it taste better, and for $35 I found it to be a measly portion with not a lot of seafood on it. My dessert of crème brûlée was lightly sweet, creamy, and had enough crisp on the top with a touch of fresh blackberry. It was good, but nothing spectacular. I would *maybe* come back only for the appetizers and a few wines and that’s it. The quality, presentation, and taste of the entrees was just underwhelming for the amount we paid. For better wines and food that actually tastes good, and a more relaxed environment, I would recommend going to Mermaid Winery instead.

While we loved the food here, the experience itself wasn't great and we wouldn't return. The first issue was trying to find parking. It was pouring and it took my husband over 15 minutes to try & find a spot near the restaurant. We were seated and noticed right away we couldn't hear each other at all. Loudest restaurant I've ever been to. The wine/bar area is close to the dining area and they crammed so many tables in the dining area that I had a headache from the noise level by the time we left. Lunch might possibly be quieter. Service was very slow (we were there 2 hours after being seated). They forgot my crab bisque and I had to remind the waiter when he said our entrees were finally coming out. He said he'd remove it from the bill but didn't when it came. We did enjoy our entrees & salad but definitely not a place for a romantic date, relaxing dinner, or for communicating with those in your party. I cannot begin to describe how loud it was. The waiter said it's usually even louder.

Just visited Cooper's Hawk to celebrate my niece's birthday. She wanted to go to a winery and do a wine tasting. We made a reservation for a party of 4 at 7:30p. We didn't get seated until 8:05ish. I've been here one time before, and I REALLY do like the atmosphere. We were able to try the $14 wine tasting while we waited, which was cool. The server was awesome, however, the service time lagged. The food is NOT comparable to the pricing! The plating is NOT good. I'm assuming that Mary's Potatoes comes with the thin gravy that floats around the plate. Lol! The Chicken in the Gnocchi Carbonara literally tastes like frozen Tyson oven roasted chicken strips. There's no way that chicken was cooked in house. I think the burger looked the best out of all of the food we ordered. The drunken shrimp was underwhelming as well. I think I would maybe come back just for the drinks, but NOT the food.

Overall, this restaurant isn't super wheelchair friendly and the food isn't worth the price. The door handles were so high that someone in a wheelchair couldn't reach them. My reservation was for 6pm, and I wasn't seated until after 15 minutes of waiting. The menu said my sandwich had avocado on it, and as per the photo, it was less than one slice. My mahi mahi was dry. The asian slaw was pretty good though. The lighting was nice, but the restaurant was super crowded and loud; the person next to me couldn't even hear me well. I also had to park at lynnhaven mall because there aren't not enough parking spaces at the restaurant. The best thing about this place is the pretzel bread.
