Service 2nd to none. Crowded. Busy but so efficient with great servers and delicious food.
This place is so homey and the food is fantastic. The even have smaller portions for people like me that have smaller appetites. Victoria was our server and she was amazing. I was so happy with the service and the food. Best place for breakfast in waco
So many options for breakfast, and the food was nice and hot/fresh when it came to the table. Service was good. The coffee was decent and came with a carafe for refills. There are options for smaller portions. I enjoyed the French toast.
Very busy place. The portions were large, but not so large that you wasted food. Staff was very friendly. I got the Avocado bacon scramble, it was a hearty dish, I couldn't eat it all at about 90% of it. Husband got Ham Bacon and Cheese Skillet with hash browns; he ate about 90% of it; got too full. My mother got another skillet and was pleased with the taste of everything. My friend and her mother got Avocado Mash and the other got a pancake with an egg. Overall worth the price paid for the quality of the food.
As a tea snob, their tea was great. And bringing a carafe with the glass, classy. The Athena was great, different dish to have at breakfast. The only negative I found was not having tobacco sauce. Just my jam with potatoes. Server was wonderful, just an enjoyable place to have breakfast.
We were visiting Waco and decided to try them for breakfast. We enjoyed it so much, we came back the next day! Freshly ground coffee, delicious food and great service! What I really appreciated were the variety of options, plus smaller breakfast options, like 1 egg, 1 strip of bacon or a sausage patty and 1/2 of a Belgian waffle. Today, I tried the apple granola pancake with eggs and bacon. Excellent!
Nice quiet place in early a.m.. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. The food was hot and fresh. Exactly what I ordered the way I ordered it. The tables and utensils are very clean. I had the strawberry banana waffle, very reasonably priced. I would definitely stop here again. If your in Waco you might give it a try.
That was an excellent restaurant to have a breakfast meal with family and friends. They have many options to choose from, I loved the pancake and the waffle 🧇 😋 Kids love their meals ( good portion and mixed between egg waffle and fruits) Overall, it was a good experience and sure we will come back again.
Delicious! My son and I loved this cute brunch spot. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. The restrooms were clean. There was a wait, but they were getting people say quickly. The food came out exactly as ordered and mu h quicker than I thought it would given how busy they were. If we ever find ourselves in waco at brunch time again we will for sure be back.
While visiting Waco we searched up a breakfast spot and this place looked good. Give this place a try! Everything was good, the staff is friendly and they give you your own coffee carafe! The waffle was light, fluffy, delicious, and crispy and it didn’t feel like you were stuffed with bread after you ate it. This is definitely our breakfast place when we visit Waco for now on.
I’ve been to this establishment a few times and have yet to be disappointed. The food is great with a variety of choices (and huge portions!) and the waiters are always friendly. I will say the wait for the food is a bit long but it is truly worth it. I ordered the chicken avocado omelette with a pancake as my substitution for bread -it was phenomenal. The strawberry banana waffle is also fantastic. Overall, 10/10. I have and will always recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for a good breakfast/brunch spot to eat at!
The restaurant was very busy, but we were greeted and seated right away. Inside, the building was clean (around 10am, including restroom). Our server was prompt and pleasant. The menu items varied - omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc. - with many fresh fruit flavors. Gluten-free options. Portions are LARGE. Food was delivered hot and fresh. Syrup was warm and we didn't need to request proper condiments or refills. Overall, well worth it.
Every time I come to this restaurant, it never disappoints. This restaurant is always clean. The service is always great. The wait times are always short, even when the hostess says it's long. The breakfast is always hot, fresh, and tastes good. In particular, the grits, which are always smooth and creamy. Eggs are fluffy. The turkey sausage has to be the most well seasoned piece of turkey sausage I've ever had at a restaurant. And the pancakes are huge. Not to mention that the coffee is a very good blend. And the prices are reasonable. Don't have a bad thing to say about this place. 5 stars easy!!!
We are always very satisfied with the food here. However, today was the exception. Food was good as always. Here is the concern. I paid $11.00 for a a la carte pancake. It was literally 1 pancake. A big pancake but definitely not an $11.00 pancake. Didn't even think (yes I should have) to check the menu for the price for a pancake. But never ever would I have thought it would be $11.00. What did I learn always check or ask the price for something a la carte before ordering.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy, 2 over easy eggs, and it came with fried potatoes. The biscuits and gravy reminded me of my grandmother's (homestyle gravy), the eggs were cooked perfect, and the potatoes were pretty good as well. The staff was friendly and even though there were plenty of people it didn't seem too loud. Will definitely be going back.
When you walk into Our Breakfast Place, it’s welcoming in a familiar kind of way. The kind of place where the coffee is hot, the décor hasn’t changed in years, and they greet you before you find your seat. Service starts strong. A server swings by quick to take your drink order, and soon after, a full pot of coffee lands on your table—no need to wait for refills. But that’s where the attention starts to slip. I ordered the Avocado Mash on Toast with a side of Ranch Potatoes—a clean, lighter choice. The server asked about eggs, and I assumed she meant as an add-on, not that eggs were included in the meal. So when the plate came out eggless, I realized there had been a communication breakdown. No big deal. Except she dropped off the food, said nothing, and disappeared. No “Can I get you anything else?” No “Enjoy your meal.” No check-in mid-bite to ask if it’s all right. I didn’t see her again until she dropped the check at the end and asked, “Was everything okay?” At that point, it’s too late to fix anything. Let’s talk food. The avocado mash was a highlight—generously portioned, chunky, creamy, drizzled with good olive oil and perked up by a wedge of lemon that brought real brightness. It was clean, simple, and satisfying. The potatoes, though? A miss. The cuts were all over the place—some thick and soft, others thin and burned, and more than a few half-raw. They lacked seasoning, tasted starchy, and had that unfortunate undercooked interior with an overcooked shell. The uneven chop made them cook unevenly, and it showed. I left most of them on the plate. As for the coffee, the pot-at-the-table model works in theory. It’s efficient, especially during busy breakfast rushes. But it also underlines the lack of attentive service—you pour your own, refill your own, and if you need anything, you’re on your own. And then comes the checkout bottleneck. They drop your check at the table, but you have to pay up front—right where the people waiting to be seated are also huddled. It creates a logjam of folks trying to leave and enter in the same square of tile. One lady in front of me had to dig through her bag, pack up a to-go order, swap bills for change, leave a tip—it took five minutes. And it wasn’t her fault. It’s just a system stuck in time. With today’s tech, there’s no reason they couldn’t cash you out at the table and keep things moving. Atmosphere? Comfortable. Familiar. But not particularly memorable. Service? Inconsistent. Started warm, ended cold. Food? Half hit, half miss. Generously, I’m giving it four stars. But next time, I’ll ask if the eggs are included—and I’ll hope the potatoes get a second chance.
Cozy little cafe for breakfast, however, the food was a let down! The breakfast potatoes tasted funny, like it was close to being spoiled. Omelette look and tasted like baked, and not what you normally get elsewhere. The cornbeef hash was terrible! The breakfast burrito isn’t something I would remember! The Belgian waffle was the clear winner!
While in Waco visiting family we came to this location where we’ve been multiple times in the past during my visits. I order eggs and bacon plate and asked if they have a short stack of pancakes since I didn’t see it in the menu. Waitress said they have an option for 1 pancake and that it is a large one. So I ordered the pancake. I received the bill and the pancake was $11 for one pancake. Size was maybe 10” diameter. I did not see it listed as à la carte or ask the price. I never imagined I would be charged $11 for one pancake. I shared my feedback with the manager about the cost and her attitude was flippant. She Didn’t care about my comment regarding the cost for one pancake. She said it listed as à la carte. I am writing this review after we left and I can see in the menu now it states $9.49 for a plain à la carte pancake. Even this is a very high price. The establishment should be ashamed of themselves for charging this much for one pancake.
