Shout-out to Poppa Rollos for accommodating our volleyball team of 30 people! 🙌 Marcus, our waiter, was amazing and took such great care of us. The atmosphere was so fun—even with all the silly squealing 11–12-year-old girls! 😂 Such a cool, fun place for a team dinner.
The “Repeat last order” is a great feature on the app. We have ordered the PR Special dozens of times each year since the 1970’s… along with a few others. Great dough and ingredients. We used to be able to identify the cooks (a couple of Dans in the 80’s) and fondly remember the Rollo kiddos growing up in the attic cubby, Dan Chovie and the Olive Tones, and Jose Jalapeño (on a stick)! Keep it going!
Fantastic place to enjoy good food and friends. Our waiter really spoiled us. The highlight of the night was Poppa Rollo came to our table and talked to us for 30 min. Great man with a great smile. Love this place. GO you will not be disappointed.
Gotta love it... my gluten-free pizz is always great have it your way... I love how fresh the ingredients are every time I eat there. I get the gourmet vegetarian plus I add Canadian bacon. Yes I add meat to it. I is always delicious. Keep up the always "great" food, service, and atmosphere. I have love this place since my teens and they never fail to please me and my friends... angry orchard is my choice of drink... or red wine. Yum plus lots of water. Thank for being consistent throughout all this time❣️😎❣️
I ordered through DoorDash. The pizza arrived cold and late but, was still divine. They have vegan cheese, which is such a bonus! Vegan options are fairly small in Waco, TX. We will be ordering from Poppa Rollos again. We will either eat in the restaurant or pick up next time. 3 different pizzas, all mini size. Which is 4 small pieces. We got a build your own with pizza sauce, cheese on top and mozzarella. My daughter loved it. We also ordered a Hawaiian pizza with pineapple. I loved the flavor of this pizza. The pineapple was delicious. Not small, flacid pieces but, nice and fresh tasting. Finally, we ordered a build your own with vegan cheese, pineapple, mushrooms, red onions and bell peppers. We were impressed by the quality of both the mushrooms and pineapple. The mushrooms were not soggy but fresh tasting and good size pieces. 👌 Thank you, again for considering your vegan and lactose intolerant customers.
So my husband went to wake up to go to home zone to look for a sound furniture when we asked the people there.Where was the best place to eat pizza?They said Papa rolo's, so we were like back.That's where we're gonna go eat for lunch.😛 so when we pull up the bsit in a little parking lot. But they have different art on the building. They have pictures from the movie 300, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin all eating pizza lol too funny. To add to it, they have the little rascals, the three stooges and sten and oliver from laura and hardy stained on the windows on the outside of the building. Very nostalgic invented the whole building😊 my type of place, so when you walk in the inside, everything is decorated so authentic. From the little horse that you could ride on when you were little used to b. E in front of grocery stores back in the day that you would put a quarter in and be ye hawing lol.🤠 They had a bumblegum machine on top of a Blast the Gollie pinball machine🤯 They also had games i saw 2 basketball hoop games.There was another pinball machine game and some other games to the left , but they were a lot of people sitting on that side. But a lot of stuff to keep you busy while you wait and after you eat. 😉 That was one side you could sit on the other side where we sat had the T. V that played 3 stooges the whole time. 🤣 Those guys didn't have any lick of sense🤣They also have an upstairs loft area where you can eat, and there's like little games for I would say from 2 to 5 year olds to play with and keep busy while you wait on your pizza. Also, all over the building, they have different vintage signs and sands and pictures of art. But the coolest thing I thought was. We had to go to the restroom to wash our hands, and you have to walk down this little hall. And then there's this brick wall that you have to push, and then it goes into a hole. Another other freaking big room. I was like, wow. 🤯 So when we went in, there was probably a birthday party🥳 going on, but that room was huge also. Connected to that was the bathrooms, but this place had little hidden gems everywhere you turned around.😀 So before we got to where the bathroom was, Isaac, our server, got our drinks. I ordered a pink lemonade, and my husband got a Sprite, and they were on the table when we returned. When we came back, he told us a little bit about the pizza and the about the history of Poppa Roll's and that he thought not just because he were there that they had the best pizza but like I told him we heard that also at the furniture store. 🙌 He also try to offer us some wings.But we weren't in the mood for wings.We really just wanted to taste the pizza.But he said the wings are also good.They're not small.They're big so we will probably try those the next time we come in☺️ We ordered our pizza that had everything on it. I think it was called the works, and please forgive me. I took a picture of the menu, but I forgot to take the picture of that one freaking page🤦♀️ I did take pictures of the pizza and man.😋 Let me tell you when that pizza came out. It looked so good. One thing I really liked about the pizza was that it wasn't very saucy because some pizza places put a lot of red sauce or tomato sauce on the pizza.😵💫 I do have to say it is one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. 😋 So kudos to you, Papa Rollo's.Ya'll have the number one title🏆🏅🎉🎊 Thank you, Isaac, for being a great server until next time✌️🫶🍕
A unique experience with friendly service and good pizza. The fact that some of the favorites of the Little Rascals is playing on the tv it not lost on those childhood memories for some of us. The staff were friendly and suggested different menu options for our first visit. Will return for another visit to try some additional menu options.
There are many great pizza options in Waco now but I always return to Poppa Rollo's when I come back to my hometown. Wife tried the BBQ chicken pizza and said it was the best she ever had. My daughter destroyed her mini cheese pizza. Love the beef topping. Make sure to order extra cheese on top to help keep the toppings on.
Hands down my favorite pizza place. We drive from Georgetown to enjoy it. The original location has the fun atmosphere we like. The food is simply awesome. Fresh, quality ingredients (and plenty of them). The service is always good with smiles and attention. I always order too much, but isn't that what is supposed to be done so it can be taken home and enjoyed even more?

A little after 7:00 on a Friday night had front door parking. Not too many people in each room. The large party room that we were in was big enough for all of us. All the kids sat on one long table while there were two long tables full of adults. You have to bring your patience when ordering drinks, food, everything else. So if you have children or you're thirsty, my advice would be to bring your own drink or snacks for the kids. The waiter (he) had help when the pizzas finally came out to our table. Other than that he did it himself. Maybe he should have had another person helping him?Service for this restaurant is a longer wait than most restaurants. I could understand if the restaurant was busy around the time we were all there. Even after another party had finished eating, the service didn't change. It was still a long wait for refills or any extra food that was ordered by our party . But again, this is just our experience 😕🫤.
Pizza was good. Boneless wings were tiny with barely any sauce, so that was disappointing. But all in all it was fun. We liked the quirky decorations.

Went here a week ago with a friend. Service was good. Our waiter was very attentive and the staff was all around friendly. I ordered the vegetarian pizza. It was good, but the heat from the pizzas being cooked lingered in the building… you may want to wait until the fall when it’s a lot cooler. (I get it Texas has record heat days!) They had fans blowing near us, but my friend and I left soaked in sweat.

Let's talk about Poppa Rollo's 🤷🏼♂️ I am a fan of good pizza and this place was highly recommended to me. I have driven by this place many times, but it never caught my attention, but it was recommended to me, and I went. Let's start with the service, it was excellent, I can't complain. The people who work there are very attentive. They are always telling you what is happening with the food, and they constantly ask you if everything is okay. Although I wait around 35-40mins and I don't understand why, overall, great service. Let's talk about the place, the Vibe, I appreciated it was a vibe like from the 30s, black and white TV shows, hidden rooms, etc. But they are trying to incorporate the Western style from the 30s mixed with Italian. I don't think that goes hand in hand. What is seem is that they just did themself a lot of decorations because some of the decorations looked like DIY, and they hung them everywhere, or so it seemed it fix. The place looks messy and pointless. The bathrooms had a strange smell, with memes that look like they hand cut them themselves and put them in a frame. I don't know, I didn't find the meaning of anything in that place! Let's talk about the food, which is why you are reading this review... When I go to a place, I try to criticize them depending on what they "specialize," and I order a pizza, Mozarella Stick, and a salad... The dough from the pizza was different. The dough itself was very good, but the amounts of ingredients that they put on top are too much, as if they were hiding or trying to flavor the pizza with a lot of ingredients. I think with the dough they're using, they don't need to bring in a tractor and just dump all those ingredients on top. Although that's why they were recommended to me, but I don't know, I can't find the logic. Mozzarella Sticks are normal, something you can buy in the frozen section at Walmart. The salad, I think that if I go to a restaurant, I hope they make me something as simple as a salad, different from how I can made at home. The salad had artificial bacon, the one that looks like play-doh, that one. Something that didn't make much sense to me since I'm eating at a restaurant. Not even FastFood uses that kind of artificial bacon. Overall, I think they only use low quality ingredients, but they do a lot to counteract the low quality of their ingredients, or that's what it's seems to me! I did not go with high expectations, so I was not surprised by anything I experienced in Poppa Rollo's. Liked always let rate the food! Pizza 3/5 🌟 Mozzarella Stick 3/5🌟 Salad 3/5🌟 Service 5/5🌟
For a place that raves to have the best pizza in town, I found it to be somewhat lacking. The pizza sauce was good, but the toppings were like straight out of a can. The dough reminded me of what we would get from a DYI pizza box at the grocery store. The service was as if they were busy even though they were not. I have no intention of returning. I'm sure they are not the best in town.
Pizza is good. Service was a little slow and dry. The decor is old fashioned pizza. There are different sections to sit. There is a quieter than the game room. It’s really noice with all the game machines and kids playing. I didn’t like the floor plan of this place. The restrooms are hidden and the door looks like the wall. I has to ask for directions in how to open the door. Its located in a meeting hall section. Weird setup.

I ordered a crisp crust pizza for pickup. The pizza wasn't cooked all the way. I finished cooking it at home; kinda like take and bake pizza. Only half cooked. I think they forgot the tomato sauce.
I was dragged here unwillingly for a work event. It was some of the worst pizza I have ever had. Below chucky cheese. There is no way the dough was made there, it has the taste and consistency of something premade. The sauce was straight from a can. Mozzarella sticks were baked in a toaster oven. No garlic knots, no rice balls.
Ordered: gluten free 10 inch 4 cheese with pepperoni, 10 inch four cheese, and 16 inch BYO with cheese and sausage. It all started when the waiter hit play on the 3 Stooges and cranked the volume up. Earsplitting "singing" echoed throughout the restaurant and my friends and I look at one another wide-eyed thinking "what have we gotten ourselves into?" We came on recommendation from a coworker who was astonished that we hadn't been yet. Apparently the pizza is amazing, though that wasn't quite our experience. We order at 7:20. My pizza comes at 7:50, meanwhile we have made our way through about half of the 3 stooges DVD. I asked a waiter to turn the volume down (remember the ear-piercing volume?) and he responded "But...the people like hearing the show!" ... I looked around the room and no one is watching the TV - everyone is either talking or in their phones. All this to say, we didn't get our other two pizzas until around 8:45 because they had forgotten about us (verbatim what was told to us). They did discount the two late pizzas by 50%. Honestly might consider going back and giving them another chance if not for the 3 Stooges and low quality gluten free crust. A couple other notes: 1) the gluten free crust was undercooked in the middle. It is also a store bought crust, not made in house. I still think it's crazy that I have to pay extra for the same product that I can buy at HEB and cook better at home. I digress. Still looking for a pizza parlor that has house made pie crust. 2) if you BYO you get one topping. Cheese counts as a topping! Ridiculous. Who is going to get a pizza without cheese??

My my family have been long time customers for many years. We can’t figure out why things have gone so badly here. You can literally go in there unknown and chill out and know body will even know that you are there. Poppa Rollas is losing their lunch crowd. We opened the back door twice to make the buzzer sound to let anyone know that we were inside. This place has serious issues. So sad because they used to to be so so awesome. ☹️
