We love it here, especially for happy hour. The oysters are delicious and the drinks are really good value. The service is amazing too - after even a couple of visits they remembered us and were really friendly.

One of my favorite places to solo dine. Did I mention the oysters are a 1.00 (HH OYSTERS ONLY) I also enjoyed their mocktail.

Went on Mother’s Day the food was delicious. From the gumbo, calamari, spinach artichoke dip to the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The drink options weren’t my favorite but my waitress was nice enough to bring out white cranberry juice from the bar. The atmosphere and the service from the staff was great will be back!

One of the best happy hour deals in town! The special menu is impressively extensive, with a great selection of small bites and cocktails to choose from. The happy hour oysters are my favorite—small, crisp, and briny. And at these prices, they’re practically a steal! I also really enjoyed the brussels sprouts and shrimp bites, both served with a delicious sweet and savory sauce. Cocktails here lean on the sweeter side, which I actually prefer. The frosé and punch are both super refreshing and pair beautifully with all the bar bites. The Tenleytown location is bright and modern, and not too far from the metro. Service is friendly and efficient. What’s not to love? I can’t wait to go back for another dozen oysters!

Great choice for refined casual eats! You HAVE to go to happy hour. We were lucky enough to come right when they rolled out their enhanced HH menu and we were impressed. Oysters are local and delicious, drinks are class and not overly sweet, everything our table ordered came out delicious. Also, our server Collin was awesome and did a great job running through the menu and getting things to the table quickly.

Collin’s was an excellent server. Broke down the whole menu, was super nice, and gave my friends and a great experience. It was my birthday so I really appreciated the hospitality. Good was amazing and I’m definitely coming back for happy hour!

KSOB in city ridge was amazing! The food was excellent (I had the salmon BLT) the drinks were tasty and strong (yes to the espresso martini)! Our server, Collins, did a great job suggesting top meals and beverages. He was attentive and kind and extremely accommodating! Cute asthetic! Highly recommend this location.

The service at this location STANDS OUT! Our server Collin went through every section of the menu giving us incredible recommendations. I had the seafood pasta per his suggestion and it was a 10/10. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and he made it special! Give this guy a promotion. Thank you Collin!

Title: A Delightful Experience at King Street Oyster Bar newest addition in City Ridge, DC Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting the new location of King Street Oyster Bar in City Ridge, DC, and I must say it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service, particularly from our server Collins, who remembered my fiancé and me from our previous visit to their Potomac location. Collins was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food! King Street Oyster Bar truly excels in delivering delicious seafood dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of options, from freshly shucked oysters to mouthwatering seafood entrees. We indulged in a selection of oysters, and each one was impeccably fresh, bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in every dish was impressive, and it was clear that the chefs took great pride in their creations. Aside from the exceptional food, the overall vibe of King Street Oyster Bar in City Ridge was simply fantastic. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting and stylish, with a charming coastal-inspired decor that transported us to a seaside getaway. The lively atmosphere and upbeat music created a vibrant backdrop for our evening, making it a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. Our waiter, Collins, was maybe the greatest person I’ve ever met. An absolute fire dining experience. He was AMAZING, with prompt service, a smile on his face, and great recommendations. When I come back (soon!) I will make sure to request him! 10/10 happy hour, and 10/10 service

Chill, tasty place. I've enjoyed oysters and drinks a few times, solo and with friends. Tonight, the welcoming bartenders Sierra and Gen recommended the staff favorite Thai salad. Delicious dish I can only describe as "fearless". Good drinks selection too. And open to the outdoors/neighborhood.

Sierra and and Christian are amazing. Great cocktails and very friendly. We feel like family when walking into this space. Rick (Owner) is there constantly and runs an amazing business. Can’t recommend Oyster enough. It’s a hidden gem in NW DC!

When they first opened, it was not that great. But wow, I'm glad I gave them another chance. Absolutely love this place. Their happy hour improved immensely! Also their fish and chips are now top notch. Wish they had oysters Rockefeller but their fresh oysters are awesome! Will be coming here are lot from now on.

This place was phenomenal for food and drinks. They had a new menu so we had the caprese pizza and fried oyster sliders. We also had the wings, sangria and the froze. The weather was nice and Collins took genuine care of us by breaking down the entire menu to us. We can’t wait to bring our students and alumni hear soon and especially for graduation season!!!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and awesome service. Our server, Q, and the manager, Blue, took amazing care of us. Fun night with friends. Loved the bar and outdoor sitting area. We will be back!

King Street Oyster Bar in City Ridge is our go-to spot — the oysters are fresh, the drinks are great, and the happy hour is unbeatable. The manager, Chris, always makes us feel at home, and the whole team brings great energy. Can’t wait to come back!

Great food and atmosphere. Waitress was great. I had to ask 4 different people for a high chair, which was fine because I didn't need it quite yet. I was hoping they would knock my mocktail off for my birthday, but they didn't. Guess I should have asked! Loved Emma G, the live music, and so did my son and the other families!

Absolutely phenomenal! This upscale oyster bar is an absolute gem! The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting, and the service is impeccable. But what truly sets this place apart is their happy hour – it's the best in town, hands down! The oysters are incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the drink specials are creative and delicious. Whether you're a seasoned oyster connoisseur or just looking for a fun and lively atmosphere, this oyster bar is an absolute must-try. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Friday Night in the National Cathedral area at City-Ridge: a casual and very satisfying meal can be found here at KSOB, King Street Oyster Bar, sharing open air seating with Tatte and Shinwa. Admittedly, we arrive after the dinner rush and very hungry. Q and Blue ensured quick service and recommended the perfect sub when my preference was 86’d. Difficult to believe that it was only Q’s sixth night. He understands service and the entire menu. We’ll definitely be back and ask for Q.

I come here all the time - servers are super nice…Chris P is the best. They just need to hire more servers since it can be a bit slow when it’s busy. Best happy hour in dc…food is delish

Service is AMAZING, our waitress Oga was nothing short of amazing! This is our first time coming here and our waitress was PHENOMENAL! She made sure our food came out hot & ready on time , and we never had to ask for a refill . 10/10 RECOMMEND if you ever come here make sure to ask for Oga ! She’s the best !

The dessert was more than enough to share. Hushpuppies were good with the butter. My salad was beautiful and good. Salmon was cooked to perfection.

1st timer and the food was amazing. Came here for a Sunday brunch date. Had the lobster and crab oysters, charbroiled oysters, sea bass, and seafood pasta. All delicious!!! Drinks great. Expresso Martini delicious and Bloody Mary good but a tad spicy. Definitely a return spot. Music upbeat. Staff friendly. Aliyah was our server and was very attentive.

For the type of restaurant it is, it's fairly solid. Happy hour is good. Lots of good regular choices on the menu. We live in the neighborhood, so we can just walk over. However, we still find it hit or miss. Tonight, for example, one of us had the lobster salad, which was market price, so when one of the managers came over with our drinks, we asked the cost ($30) and what lobster parts (is it a tail, claws?). She said all of the parts. Great! Well, it was just claws, no tail. Then we saw someone get the fried soft shell crab, so we asked where that was on the menu. She said it was the special. We probably would have ordered that, but our server didn't tell us there were specials when she quickly took our order in a curt manner. So, now we most likely will just come sit at the bar during happy hour, which seems to be the best bet. But don't order the martini. It's $16 and comes in a small coupe glass :)

Well-designed space and a trendy neighborhood created high expectations. But services were quite mediocre, while the food was rather regular, nothing special. Decent Pinot Grigio.

M
Martin Lucero

Oysters were great, but the food was very disappointing. Food took a long time to arrive and then it was cold. The ceviche looks awful, we didn't touch it

B
Brittany Mayes

We sat down immediately but had to wait a long time for our server. We only got soft drinks but that took at least 15-20 minutes to get. Ended up ordering cocktail shrimp, raw oysters, crab and lobster grilled oysters and the blue crab dip. It was all just ok, at best.

I came here for lunch last week around 2 and was not very satisfied. I've been to the NoMa location many times and had a lovely time. The service at this location was very slow even though it was not crowded at all. It took forever for my friends burger to arrive and there was confusion about swapping her side from fries to a salad which was not clear. My po boy sandwich had barely any slaw on it and the fries were soggy. The brussels sprouts salad lacked flavor as well. Overall, I would only come back here for HH and would not pay full price for anything on this menu again.

R
Rachel K

We were very excited to go and have dinner. The restaurant is nice and relaxing and has good staff. We were really disappointed about our dinner and dessert. The food was not particularly warm or flavorful. It might be worth trying again.

L
La Magdalena

i realize they get packed during happy hour ‘cause it’s such a good deal … but they must make enough money to hire enough servers. Each and every thing you order takes 20 minutes. Either The food just sits there and no one brings it to you or thee waitstaff never stops at your table. HIRE MORE STAFF!

T
Taylor Schaedle

I’ve been here many times and while service can be slow it’s normally worth it. Today was one of the more bizarre dinning experiences I’ve had. It took over an hour to bring our food, and my “clam linguine” was obviously just the little neck clams they’d made by accident with some noodles put on top. Wild to think that would be ok but then when I talked to a manager about the food taking forever and not being even close to what I ordered she became confrontational because we ate it (again sitting for over an hour before any food came out so quite hungry). They covered the “linguine” and one glass of wine. In my opinion and experience in restaurants, we were stuck at this restaurant for 1.5 hours and then given food that clearly wasn’t what we ordered, this should have been an embarrassment that they were apologetic and hospitable about but instead I had to ask the manager to calm down.

J
John Mitchell

Every oyster we ordered on a Saturday night was out of stock. And a few entrees also, but you didn't find out until you ordered. P.S. Rockefeller is not made with Parmesan cheese.

S
Susan Stevens

My partner and I dropped in for dinner a couple of weeks ago. The menu looked great and as we had never been, we were excited. The server seemed pleasant at first, if somewhat disengaged and flippant. Example, when I asked about the chili, she said "it's award winning." I can read the menu and wanted to know more about it. She did explain that she didn't eat red meat so ok. We ordered oysters. Several of them looked engorged and had a strong bad odor. They were clearly spoiled. The man who brought them us took them away. When the server finally returned...she was extremely inattentive, and we let her know the oysters were taken because they were spoiled she again was flippant, shrugged and walked off. It took forever to get our check, no apology from the manager for serving rotten oysters. The server was also having a lot of fun socializing with what appeared to be acquaintances or regular guests. Will not be returning.

This was my 1st time at this particular location I usually go to the other location but decided to try this location out and I instantly regretted it. The host was rude when we first walked in there was a woman who after listening apparently worked there but was off that day and come to order food. Her order was long but we stood there patiently waiting, the woman who was placing the order than asked the host did she want to seat us then she could finish up with her after to the hostess responded “ No I don’t they can wait “ with a nasty attitude. Then after she was finish she wanted to speak to us politely which I responded back quick and short. Then our waiter seemed to be in a mood but seemed to be more friendly with the other guest. I’ll never come back to this location the service from the time you walk in is horrible

J
Julia Ainsley

The first time we have ever not tipped so we feel like we have to explain why. We were not served water for 30 minutes, never received all the place settings we needed for our party (though we asked) and we were charged for oysters that arrived after our meal. Call me crazy, but appetizers are supposed to arrive before the meal. We said, “so sorry we wanted those earlier but we are ok now.” They put them on the table next to us and charged us even though we didn’t touch them. So we didn’t tip to make up for the price of the oysters. Would not recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice atmosphere or good service.

J
Josh Lahey

Saturday night party of 5 with a reservation for 6:45pm took 15 minutes to be seated. 10 minutes more for waitress to come by. We put in apps and entrees at once and then Apps and entrees all came at once. Requests on entrees screwed up. Food was meh at best (wings are good). Mocktail was terrible. And it was expensive. Total disappointment. Have had better meals in an airport.

A
Amber CH

Disappointed with the service. A host sets the tone of the whole meal. The host was begrudgingly there. Didn’t smile. Asked for a high top booth and told they couldn’t accommodate (although the space remained empty long after we sat down). Was sat at a dirty table. When he came to clean it he just pushed all the debris onto the floor and the seats, which meant right onto our feet and laps. We didn’t see a waitress for close to 10 minutes and she had to be reminded multiple times we needed water glasses for the water she left, and silverware. Food was ok. The sliders were the best thing we got. Overall just very disappointed. My sister lives close by and she swears this was a misstep. Once was enough for me.

K
Keenan Bentley

I ordered my food at 3:14pm and was told that it would be 15-minutes. I go back to the restaurant at 3:30pm and was told my order wasn’t ready yet. I stood in the lobby for another 25-minutes before asking if my order is complete. The host goes to check, comes back and says “they’re still working on the sliders”. Needless to say, I asked for my money back, which they did. Whomever processed the refund, I guess thought telling me that the culinary director was in the back was supposed to make me feel better about my order still NOT being done 50 minutes later. Although they were apologetic, they didn’t even offer to comp the meal.

C
Caleb Long

I’ve been a regular at the City Ridge, NoMa, and Potomac locations, but this past Saturday was my last visit. The food is consistently fantastic but the service has become too frustrating to ignore. I tried contacting KSOB via email and never got a response. For the third visit in a row, part of my order was completely forgotten. I always start with at least two dozen oysters and either sliders or wings, and each time they just never show up. By the time the entrees arrive, it feels pointless to bring it up. It doesn’t even show up on the bill, which tells me the staff likely forgets as soon as they walk away. Maybe if they just wrote orders down like most restaurants, this wouldn’t keep happening. Tonight added another layer of disappointment. The Coke tasted like flat, syrup-less water, and we were charged for three sodas—despite there typically being free refills. When I pointed it out, our server said, “Oh, you each had two, it should be four,” which made no sense. I gave up at that point, paid, and moved on. I’m done. The service is consistently careless, and it’s not worth it. I’ll happily go somewhere like Clyde’s or Salt Line, where the drinks are better, the staff actually writes down orders, and refills don’t come with surprise charges. If refills are no longer free, maybe mention it before offering one.

R
Ritu Varma

Very disappointing service. Disagreeable attitude of server. Refused to agree that coffee was cool instead of hot. Dirty dishes. Server not around to service when needed. Not surprised, it’s mostly empty.

d
datoneguy246

Same as an Airport Restaurant - NEVER go here. This place is a loud, poorly run restaurant. Our drinks were flat and warm. Two of our meals came out 12 minutes before the rest of the table’s. the waitress cleared half our plates but not the others until we asked. It was like eating at a crowded, loud airport restaurant where the staff know they will never see you again.

K
Kastriot Gjoka

Service was slow, plates would pile up and we would just put them on the other table next to us. The server seemed like she didn't want to be there, was rushing us to get the order to her. We asked for some extra ice and this guy comes up to us and say "Yo, Yo, Yo" to get our attention. One of our plates came cold and some other ones were to salty. Extra bread and refills on drinks came really late, when our food would be done. We were celebrating a family member's college graduation but it unfortunately was very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend.

K
Katelyn Kurke

The service I received today was very disappointing. We sat on the patio for nearly twenty minutes without being greeted, and throughout the meal, we saw our server maybe twice. While I understand things can get busy, it made the experience frustrating, especially after we never got our appetizer. Additionally, the manager who assisted us with another perceived missing item came across as dismissive and condescending.

T
Tracey Turner

Oysters were spoiled. I sent them back and noone acknowledged it at all. When i told the server i returned them she asked why amd when i said they were bad...she kinded shrugged and walked off. Her attitude was just off...unfortunate. rest of food was fine but we wont be back. Server could have made all the difference. But her attitude was as bad as the oysters. The menu looked great..we were excited to try somewhere new. I could have given a pass on the rotten oyster if the server acted like any of it mattered at all.
