Omg the food here is so good !!!! Definitely worth the hype. There was a lady singing & she was a vibe. Food was seasoned well & also the servings are so worth it ! It was packed so i would definitely make a reservation because if not you may be outta luck. Will be back 🤤
It was AMAZING! But let me say that the SIDES are shareable lol I definitely had a Togo bag 😂 but yes food was fire I had salmon, Broccolini, and Mac and cheese and the drinks were good as well. The artist playing the piano and singing was beautiful and amazing.
I was invited for my cousin’s surprise birthday dinner. I had no idea what to expect but was I beyond pleased! Love the dim atmosphere and live singer. Dress the part and view menu and vibe online before you go. Call if you need beforehand. I was driven into the city and greeted upon arrival and walked over to my dinner party and seated. Several servers in formal white jackets.Great service and attention to detail. My cocktail was refilled throughout dinner. My petite cut of steak started @$50. I have never had a better cut of steak ordered medium well. Yum. Sides varied (mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, garlic mash and so much more to complement. Yum! We stayed the length of the evening and desserts were insanely good. Already booked my next visit. Loved this place!
Taste :5/5 Environment: 4.5/5 Service:5/5 who can resist the steaks at Mastro's? Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And if you're a seafood lover, you're in for a real treat. The lobster tail is a must-try, and the seafood tower is perfect for sharing with friends—it’s fresh, indulgent, and just so satisfying. The service was impeccable, as always. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was just right. But my absolute favorite part of the meal? The butter cake. Oh my goodness! The moment I took my first bite, I couldn’t stop until it was completely gone.…🥹🥹 so guilty
This place was absolutely exceptional—truly a hidden gem! The service was outstanding from start to finish, attentive without being intrusive. The chef prepared my filet mignon well done (which is no easy feat!) and it was still incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and absolutely delicious. As someone with very particular filet mignon standards, I was thoroughly impressed. We practically had the entire restaurant to ourselves, which made the evening feel so intimate and romantic. The live music added the perfect touch of elegance—it was beautiful without overpowering the atmosphere. My husband also loved his steak, and the sides were just as impressive—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. From the food to the ambiance, everything was spot on. We’ll definitely be back!
Mastro’s is simply outstanding. The food was delicious, very delicious. The service was top-notch, with attentive and incredible staff who made our experience enjoyable from start to finish.
Came to Mastro’s for my bday on 7/17/25 & they had a bday card & complimentary dessert (cheesecake) for me. My dinner-salmon, broccolini, & scalloped potatoes was so good. I had to make myself stop eating. The portions were huge. S/O to my server, Nicole. I was in the general seating area, but they had live music by the bar & the musician sounded really good. If you’re someone who stays cold like me, bring a jacket.
I love how the atmosphere is very calm , they have a live singer I think is a beautiful experience also food is worth the price big portions so for you’re side please get one thing of whatever choice you want also offer valet parking and have to wear business casual attire
I’ve been to Mastro’s a good number of times for dinner with friends over the years. However I decided to go to the bar alone after a crappy day at work. The bar staff was pleasant and the live music was Exceptional. The stunning young lady performing that night was so kind and so much fun to engage with. She sang at least four to five of my requests and nailed them all perfectly. I had a few cocktails and the smoked salmon appetizer to eat. I assumed the portion would be small but I was in for a substantial pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my visit. Can’t wait to come back for some me time again. Cheers!!!!!
I took my son for his 18th birthday dinner. From the time we arrived and left. The service was exceptional and the food was great. I give it a 10+*
Rich, buttery bone marrow meets peppery arugula in the perfect balance of indulgence and freshness. The citrus vinaigrette adds a bright finish, while toasted bread takes it to the next level. Unexpected, elegant, and absolutely delicious. A must-try!
This was the single best dining experience I've had in DC, hands down. The food was incredible and the portion sizes were phenomenal! Usually when you go to fine dining establishments you expect tiny portions for big prices but this place made every menu item sized to be more than worth the cost. I ordered a bone-in ribeye and it was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The sides are ordered separately but a single side can easily feed a table of 4-5 people. Even the drink was perfectly portioned. I ordered a Jameson and Coke and received a whole glass of Jameson and a separate bottle of Coke to mix as I pleased. I probably got about 2 or 3 glasses out of the one order. Whatever you do, save room for the butter cake dessert. It was insanely good. You cannot go wrong with this place. It is pricey, but it is worth it. The ambiance was great and the service was the best I've ever had. It was almost like we had a private wait staff and cooks. They cleared plates as soon as we were done and the next courses came without any delay. I can't say enough positive things about this place. Make your reservations now!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mastro’s is pure luxury from start to finish. The SAUTÉED SHRIMP and bone-in ribeye melted in my mouth and the lobster mac & cheese was insanely good. The live music added to the ambiance without being too loud. Our server treated us like royalty. Worth every penny! Top-tier steakhouse experience! Impeccable service, elegant interiors, and one of the best old fashioneds I’ve ever had.. Whether it’s a business dinner, special occasions. or date night, Mastro’s is a sure-fire winner in DC.
Cosy restaurant. Although this is a steak restaurant their sushi is outstanding. The bar was a little too noisy for our liking but the restaurant was more sedate allowing for conversation. A good choice for dinner before a show.
Food is always great. Only complaint is the company doesn't let you use the Mastro gift card for online or phone to go orders.
Went out for our anniversary while in town. Rice our server was amazing, all the food was great. Even the bread basket was remarkable. We had the best plain cheesecake of our lives.
I can only think of why this amazing steak house is at a 4.4 and it has to be if people eat at the bar. Your service won’t be as great. The waitress are hustling. If you sit in the dining room the waiters are attentive and professional. Food: best place to get a steak in DC—or many other place. Ask the waiter if they have an off menu special because if you get offered a ribeye wagyu for $300, you should take it. Best steak I’ve ever had. A lot of people don’t want to order sushi from a steak house and I’d agree, but get the sushi as an app, because their rolls are designed by chefs from Cabo and if you’ve been to Cabo—you know the sushi there is the tastiest North America can offer you. Butter cake. I’m drooling. I love Mastros food. Vibe: the live music is lovely. I’ve been there when I thought they were playing a soundtrack because the artist was so lovely.
Mastro’s was a delightful experience! We visited to celebrate my friend’s 27th birthday. First, I want to thank the staff for allowing us to dine because we were late and the men were out of dress code. They mentioned “collared shirts” which wasn’t explicitly stated on the website, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit. I think they were so forgiving because it was a Tuesday night, it probably wouldn’t fly on the weekend lol Now on to the food, everything was delicious and everyone in my party was satisfied with their food. Quick food/drink review: Lemon Drop: The lemon drop was really good & came with a bonus shaker so it was like two drinks in one 10/10 Clear Lobster Roll: This was really good, but the sauce was the star of the show. 8/10 Branzino: It was really good and the lemon sauce that came with it was delicious 9/10 Broccolini: Such a simple side but the parmesean made it over the top 10/10 Lobster Mashed Potatoes: Yes, Yes & Yes 10/10 Butter Cake: Its a reason everybody comments about the butter cake more than the steak here! It was huge and I will be coming back for my birthday to get one! 10/10 Overall, I’d love to come back. When you visit order everything you want and you’ll have an amazing time!
Delicious!!! Fresh, amazing, and definitely returning. I had the pleasure of ordering the pork chop, and it was amazing. Came with an apple, pecan glaze. The lobster mashed potatoes were heavenly. And my Dream berry martini was sweet and tasty. Overall, amazing dining experience and excellent wait staff. Well be returning soon.
Came here for dinner on New Year’s Eve and was very impressed by the food and service. We ordered the clear lobster roll for our app which was great, highly recommended! For our main, we shared the porterhouse steak between 2 of us - it was cooked to perfection! Sides were sautéed asparagus and the gnocchi. We did have a hiccup with our gnocchi order - manager Steven rectified the issue and handled it with great care. Also the warm signature butter cake was phenomenal and is huge so perfect for sharing! Thank you so much for an amazing experience, looking forward to coming back!
Food is so delicious. Service is always great. They have live music. Everything I’ve tried has been great so far. Highly recommend the key lime martini, ribeye, and tuna tostadas! Sides are sharing portions.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in DC. Went to Mastro's for my cousins birthday dinner, reserved the private room downstairs(check with the team for availability). We got there about an hour and a half before closing, yet they were very patient with us. The shrimp cocktail and Woodford Manhattan were excellent. Tried some of the other appetizers from the table and everything tested pretty well. For the main course I had the Rack of Lamb, didn't disappoint at all. Dessert was no different as well, the butter cake was the highlight for sure. Highly recommend!
Updated Review 2/20/23 Wonderful Experience! What a difference a change makes. We had an absolutely wonderful experience here again. The drinks, appetizers and food was simply delicious and everything was cooked to perfection. The entire Staff was wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit. Shout out to the District Manager who heard my previous concerns and worked to make a difference. Highly recommended! Here are some pictures from our recent experience. Review 12/6/23 Both the Shrimp and Scallop appetizers were great. The steaks we ordered were to be Bone-in Filets and they were not. The drinks were outstanding. Our Waiter, however, was running a scheme to increase his tip by lying and saying that they had Specials of Bone-in Filet with Crab and it was complemented with Wagu Butter. Well, he ran our bill up to almost $1,600 with his additional add-ons. We paid an additional $50 for the crab and $15 for the (complimentary) butter. We discover the next day that Mastro’s never has Specials. This unscrupulous Waiter ruined a 70th Birthday Celebration.
This restaurant was wonderful! We had a reservation for 4, and was seated immediately once all members of our party arrived. Our waitress was phenomenal and explained drinks and the menu. Service was prompt, food arrived HOT and well prepared with little wait time. Everything was delicious!
I had booked the reservation on Open Table but the reservation was canceled by the restaurant for some reason. I think they hit a wrong button because we were seated quickly after we arrived. It was a special occasion and they made sure it was. I ordered the Beauty Filter drink and the Expresso Martini for dessert. For the appetizer we had the shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was nice and the horseradish was awesome in it. We both had the Chefs cut NY strip 20 oz. The steaks were cooked to order. I added the bearnaise sauce with crab, so good and the sauce didn’t break! My husband’s steak was a bit stringy and tough but no fault of the restaurant as they can’t see into the steak itself. We also had the scalloped potatoes. It was big enough to share. So good and cheesy on top. For dessert we had the signature warm butter cake with ice cream. They gave us a cheesecake slice for the anniversary. 10/10 we want to come back.
We had a phenomenal meal here with Emily after closing on our new house today. What a memorable and sublime meal. Thank you to all the staff and for Steven for coordinating the table. Truly a sensational dinner with our broker to herald in a new chapter. The filets and side dishes and the desserts were to die for. Thank you all! We will be back!
Fantastic service and delicious food! Even without a reservation, they were incredibly accommodating and seated us in great spots at the bar. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and clearly took pride in taking care of all their guests.
5 star! Ten out of ten. I wish I had more to say, I definitely want to go back because the food was delicious. The oyster Rockefeller even if you don’t like oysters is a must try!
I had the most AMAZING experience at Matro's! From the moment we walked in, everything was just chef’s kiss. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every bite had me falling more in love perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. I’m not even exaggerating when I say I was obsessed! And let’s talk about the drinks 100% worth the price. They were crafted so well and complemented the food perfectly. You can tell they care about quality. What truly made the night unforgettable though was the service. The manager, Ngong Temateh, went above and beyond. He consistently checked on us, made sure everything tasted great, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying ourselves. That kind of attention makes all the difference. Our server, Juan, was equally amazing! So communicative, attentive, and detailed. He made sure everything was prepared exactly how we wanted and that our drinks were just right. We truly felt taken care of the entire time. Overall, I loved everything about this place the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and especially the people. I will DEFINITELY be coming back. 10/10 experience! 💛
Mastro’s Steakhouse was an awesome experience. The atmosphere feels upscale but still comfortable, and the service was professional from start to finish. My steak was cooked perfectly—super tender and full of flavor—and the sides were all great. The cocktails were well made too. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a great steak dinner, and I’d definitely come back.
The steaks were really good. As far as sides we tried the mac and cheese, sauteed spinach, and french fries which were good, especially the french fries. The drinks were pretty good. I tried the sorbes for dessert and they were the weak point. Service was very good. The restaurant was kind of dark.... People were using flashlight apps to read the menus. The place is pricey but you know that if you're looking at this restaurant. A lot of dates going on here.
I ate here last night for my birthday with my husband. I wish it was possible to give 100 stars. I had the most wonderful experience celebrating my birthday here! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully set perfect for a special occasion. The music created such a relaxing vibe and set the tone for the evening. The food was absolutely delicious flavorful, fresh, and plated with care. Every bite felt like it was made with love. What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond, treating me with so much kindness and attention that it made my birthday feel extra special. This place is a true gem, and I can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and an overall amazing dining experience!
Here for restaurant week and here we go! A little backed up maybe because It’s restaurant week so that probably played a role in the service. But my friend got the French onion soup and I got the mambo salad. Both wins there. Then I did the 6oz while he did the filet. Again another good choice. Both of us were happy with the food. Get add ons. I love me a bread basket so we had that too and their fun drinks are good! Found some street parking and only issues I kinda had was in regards to slight delays in service and being checked on. Cute place romantic and cozy. Has a good feel and good spacing
Took my friend here for her birthday. I enjoyed this place. I chose here bc she likes steak, seafood, pasta, and lamb. They had all 3 with good reviews. Our food was amazing. The young lady who was singing had a beautiful voice. Our waitress was attentive. I recommend this place. It's a great place for intimate dining. We both had steak w shrimp med rare. As an appetizer, we had shrimp in a delicious sauce, and our sides were lobster mac and cheese and truffle mushrooms I believe.
Dined here with a party of over 15 for a birthday dinner so we were sat in a private room. All the servers were attentive and great with answering questions. I didn’t order a cocktail but loved the table side pours that others in the party had. I had the Caesar salad as my appetizer and it could’ve been better; I think there was too much dressing and the lettuce didn’t seem crisp/fresh. My herb roasted chicken was delicious, it was seasoned well and wasn’t dry at all. Because we were a large party the sides were done family style so I did end up waiting a few minutes to enjoy the chicken with the sides. The broccolini was my favorite veggie followed by the roasted Brussels sprouts. I also liked the garlic mashed potatoes. I was able to try some of the desserts from the birthday girl’s sample platter. I’d definitely dine here again for a special occasion and in a smaller group to have a different experience.
It was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is nothing short of romantic and beautiful, exuding an upscale and classy vibe that is admittedly accompanied by a high price tag. However, every penny spent is reflected in the quality of the service and the meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience. The live music, featuring a female vocalist with an incredible voice, added an extra layer of sophistication to our evening, setting the perfect mood for a romantic dinner. Our waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, making us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our meal. It's evident that Maestro has mastered the recipe for success, blending impeccable service with a warm and inviting atmosphere. As for the food, it was beautifully presented, turning each dish into a work of art. The Brussels sprouts and Mac & Cheese sides were incredibly yummy, leaving us craving more. The Chilean sea bass, topped with crab meat, was a highlight of our meal - buttery, mildly flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Our rack of lambs, while delicious, could have benefitted from a bit more seasoning, and the crab cake appetizer, though tasty, had a bit more filler than we would have liked. Despite these minor critiques, we had an amazing time at Maestro. The only reservation I hold is regarding the price tag in relation to the food flavor experience. While the ambiance and service are unparalleled, when it comes to sheer flavor, one might argue that establishments like Ruth's Chris offer a more value-for-money experience. Nonetheless, for those special occasions where atmosphere and overall experience are paramount, Maestro on 13th Street is a choice that will not disappoint.
My son turned me on to this place since my husband loves steaks. Our first visit was for our Anniversary and it was awesome! We both said we would come back for the food and service. Plenty of food and steal was ooh la la. We decided to go back in November of this year to take my son with me for celebration of promotion. My husband and I ordered almost the same thing, a 24oz Porterhouse steak, yippee, however, we were so disappointed when the entree came out. Less meat, no bit 24 thick porterhouse, I was so disappointed that I did not hardly eat the steak they presented. My husband had the to wrap it up. Let me say this, the service was excellent, I appreciate the fine dining service but not the food. We all voted not to go back since the abundance of food would not be served for the price. SOO DISAPPOINTED!
Great dining experience i got porterhouse it was cooked great. But tbh texas roadhouse steak had better taste. Same for Brussel sprouts bland an nor very good. The bread was also amazing an the Italian chopped salad was ok not the best for 18 bucks. Overall steak good not the best but ok.
It's always a bit of a gamble with these ostensibly high end steak houses that are also chains. Overall, the food was subpar, the service adequate, and the ambience a bit too noisy and dark at the same time. I started with the foie gras which was actually quite good, and a generous serving. Zero complaints. My French onion soup that followed was disappointing, the soup tasted overly salty and watery at the same time. As for my entree, I had the Japanese A5 wagyu New York cut, and it was sadly just ok. Definitely the worst A5 cut I've ever had. It was both burnt/overdone at the edges and underdone in the interior, and should have cooked more evenly across. Service was fine, very polite and professional, though I did feel misguided a bit on what to expect from the steak. They should either turn up the lights or quieten the restaurant, it's a weird dissonance to have it be that loud and that dark, it should be a fine dining restaurant, not as loud as a night club. Won't be returning. Bourbon Steakhouse on the lfher hand, is light years ahead of Mastro's and recommended if you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse.
First time to this Landry's location. Unfortunately, they don't participate in the Landry's Select Club which is relatively disappointing, especially for the menu prices. Cocktails were excellent; ordered the Thyme Is Of The Essence & Hemingway Gold. We enjoyed them both very much. Ordered the Mastro's salad. Portion was incredibly generous for the price but I felt it was overdressed. We had the sea bass and the pork chop for dinner. The sea bass portion was massive but unfortunately because of the portion size was undercooked and had to be sent back. Pork chop was delivered so hot I had to wait about 5 minutes for it to cool down before I could eat it. When they put the sides on my plate (mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts), they sizzled like crazy. I was afraid they were going to end up being tough and overcooked. However, flavors were good and the pork and sides ended up being cooked perfectly. Dessert was creme brulee and was average and as expected. Now for the service: it was not ideal. The server seemed very high strung and jittery. Maybe he had too many tables assigned to him? New? Nervous? Not sure. He also didn't seem to have any clue about food allergies which was disappointing. He confused dairy with gluten several times. Finally we asked if he could just check with the chef because we weren't confident with his answers. We think there needs to be some training of the staff on this subject as people can get sick. Seating was a bit tight. Our table was very close to others which wasn't ideal but we suppose it could have been worse. There was a singer in the bar area and she was pretty good. Overall, I would come back again and give this restaurant another try. Maybe getting another server might improve the experience next time.
I booked for birthday celebration. The hostess was very nice and friendly. Foods that I ordered were outstanding and the butter cake was also good as I saw many reviews mention about it. but I could not finish it because it was a huge one. There were nothing to complain about after our server and I guess busboy? tried to rush and took away our food according to a tiny table that we were seated. First attempt was when our appetizers came but we still enjoyed our bread service that was charged $5 and we literally just had One piece. However, I had to let server took it away because there was NO SPACE for the rest of our dishes to place on the table. Second attempt was when we were having our main course. I would say we just want to spend time to eat and have conversation along with it. But one of the busboy came to us and asked if we need a togo box for a dish that we were still eating. I was surprised because we were still eating and then he left. A few minutes later, our server came and asked the same question if we need a togo box or not. So we decided to say yes so that they could clean and don’t interrupt us anymore. I am not sure the reason why. But it made us feel that way. Or, they were trying to finish their job and serve a dessert Or the restaurant was going to closed soon. It was around 9 pm tho. And We could order more if the services did not rush us. Anyway, hope you can take my experience to improve your customer service better ,especially with people who came with special occasions Because they expected everything that they are looking for and paid for.
This place we wandered into before going to Warner Theater. It was ok at best. We sat at the bar. The person singing was wonderful but it was so loud we had to talk so loud and half the time the bartender didn’t hear us. They messed up our order and it took a while for drinks. We decided on a couple appetizers and was going to do main course but food was bland so we opted to leave. I don’t mind spending great money on experiences for culinary delights but this isn’t one of them and the pricing is outrageous for what it is IMO.
Came here for my birthday dinner. The ribeye I got was bland with no flavor. I’ve been to several upscale restaurants and even the ones that are not and steak was much better. I’m really sad I had to write this review but the food was not all that I thought it would be. For the cost it should have been way better and I’m saying that respectfully. First impressions are everything and this was not for the food. The ambiance was well but I won’t be returning.
I visited Mastro’s Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. The food lacked flavor and seasoning across the board, and the steak itself did not reflect the quality I anticipated from a restaurant of this caliber. Every dish felt uninspired and bland. While the ambiance and atmosphere were upscale and enjoyable, the food simply did not measure up. I left genuinely disappointed, especially given the occasion. It’s a beautiful restaurant, but unfortunately, the dining experience did not live up to its reputation.
I have to be honest. I was disappointed with my first experience here. My girlfriends insisted that this place was top-tier. However, our experience this go round was not it at all. I took several minutes (estimated 5 to 10 minutes)for us to be greeted by a server. Our appetizers were delivered to the table on a server tray, which sat there for about a good minute or two before someone else came to pass our plates out. When our entrées were delivered, our 8 ounce steaks we ordered were COLD. The only part of the steak that was warm was the bottom and that’s because it was served on a hot plate. We bought this to the attention of our waiter. Opposed to having our steaks be cooked fresh, they were heated up which I originally asked NOT to be done because it would affect the cook of the steak. The server ensured that the way they reheat the steak it would not. Let’s just stay when my steak came back, It was medium-well almost well done (I originally ordered my steak, medium), very disappointing. The mac & cheese that everyone raved about before coming was mediocre and not well seasoned. We ordered 2 Mac & cheese but only received one, however, was charged for two which we later had to ask them to take off check. I would have to say the best part of our experience was the music. They had live music. The singer was amazing. My drinks were good, my crab-cake appetizer, salad and butter cake was also good. I wish I could say the same thing about the steak, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes that we ordered; everything just select flavor and seasoning. We had a lot of food left over and I wasn’t interested in taking anything home. Very disappointing when your bill is approximately $1,800 (tip included). Everyone at the table expressed the same concern, even the ones who had been there prior. I really wanted to like and enjoy this restaurant, but it just wasn’t what I had hoped. The prices are expensive enough you wouldn’t want to roll the dice like that again just for another cold and mediocre dinner.
Mastros charges premium prices but delivers subpar service. At the bar, I ordered sparkling rosé—the bartender didn't mention the price or wine name, served an overflowing glass instead of a glass and half, and charged $44. The dining room was overcrowded. Our server threw menus at our table because she couldn't reach us, never explained anything, and shouted orders from across the room. She aggressively pushed us to order more appetizers, extra oysters and shrimp, and coffee we repeatedly declined. For $650 for three people, the food and service didn't justify the cost. The décor is nice, but that's where the positives end. Expected proper seating, drink service, and menu explanations—got none of it.
I recently celebrated my birthday here. Unfortunately, I left birthday cards with money inside of them. I called to check if they were found and of course they “mysteriously” have not been found. I even asked for them to check the cameras and was told they didn’t see anyone take them. However, I find it highly unlikely those cards could’ve disappeared into thin air. The whole process felt unfriendly and I wasn’t offered anything for the inconvenience. I actually called multiple times and at one point felt like I was bothering them. Overall, I think it can be inferred that the cards were stolen. I have been going to this location for years to celebrate birthdays and I promise you I will never return. If you go, please be aware of your belongings.
Don’t waste your time! I’ve had better food at Texas Roadhouse; where you get free bread, the steaks are seasoned, and the sides are delicious. As a steakhouse I expected something that would make the steak stand out- special sauces, a nice rosemary butter, chimichurri - something besides a plain hunk of meat. Mastro’s is charging prices as though they’re offering high class food and they’re not! For the price we paid for dinner - DISAPPOINTED is an understatement ☹️. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Had dinner last night celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday. I made a reservation and clearly communicated with Stacey I am celebrating my gf bday. No card on the table when we arrived….I had to ask for it. Also I had to ask for the standard birthday cake that’s given to the person celebrating their bday. Also my steak and crab cake were overcooked. I still paid full price for our meal cause I didn’t want to seem like I was trying to get a discount or something for free. I did bring this to the Manager attention and told him I was only advising him. I normally go to Ruth Chris for a good steak, but thought Mastro’s would be a good pick for celebrating my gf bday. So I’m disappointed at the lack of attention to detail paid to the bday card and the food.
This was unfortunately one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had — especially disappointing since it was our anniversary. When I made the reservation, I specifically mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, and I even called ahead to make them aware. Despite that, nothing was acknowledged during our visit. No mention, no small gesture — nothing — which made what should have been a special evening feel overlooked. For a bill exceeding $300, I expected a much higher level of quality and service. The food was very subpar for the price point. The entrée did not include any sides, which felt unreasonable given the overall cost. Additionally, despite having a reservation for opening time, we still waited over 15 minutes to be seated. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant was the advertised dress code and upscale atmosphere. However, it was not enforced at all, and they seemed to let anyone in regardless of attire. That significantly diminished the experience we were expecting. Overall, the value simply did not match the price. I’ve had far better meals and service at much more affordable steakhouses. I truly hope management reaches out to make this right — perhaps with an opportunity to experience what the restaurant is truly capable of — because this anniversary dinner was not the experience we had hoped and we still left hungry and sadly went to a local restaurant right after.
