They do very high quality versions of both New York style and Detroit style, and most importantly you can sample by the slice or square. My barometer for pizza is how well they nail a slice of standard pepperoni, and theirs didn't disappoint. Really quality thin slice amped with Ezzo's pepperoni. Delish. I was expecting a letdown for the Detroit style equivalent, a square of spicy pepperoni but it surpassed expectation. They do the right amount of burning the edges, and the molten provolone and Calabrian chili and sesame seeds set this version off. Really enjoyed sampling it. Will definitely be back to try more.
This place is inside “The Roost” food hall. Had a Sicilian style pepperoni and a white slice. They were both actually really excellent. The ninja turtles would approve, I think. $11 total for the two slices.
Great pizza, both crust and toppings were very tasty. Wasn’t that long a wait for pickup either.

Got a plain cheese slice and the spicy pepperoni square. The plain slice tasted just like a slice you'd find at New York pizza joint. The spicy pepperoni was the real star. It was somewhere in between a grandma style and detroit style pizza. Fluffy dough with crispy edges, with sauce on the bottom, then cheese topped with pepperoni, and spicy chili peppers on top. Definitely will be back.
Great slice, good price! Stopped by for a slice of their thick rectangular style pizza w/eggplant. They warmed it, and covered it in garlic seasoning, and I couldn't have been happier! It was very good. Nice people too! The place is very cool inside with lots of space. I sat outside where there's a few tables, and lots of shade
A pizzeria inside a food hall? Doubtful at first, I'm a huge fan. Slice Joint is legit good pizza. They sell pizza by the slice or while pies. Their square pizzas come with the perfect crust- a little crunchy on the outside and very chewy on the inside. The "Esquite Loco" square slice with corn, mozzarella, garlic aioli, parmesan, cilantro, and tajin is so good! Each slice comes with a lime wedge to squeeze on top! For non-pizza lovers, Slice Joint sells salads.
The only legit NY pizza in DC. For all you non-new yorkers out there: this is the real thing. The crust is quite (satisfyingly) chewy, there isn't a ton of sauce, and there's a healthy amount of melted mozz. This is the style of pizza you'd get at most slice joints in NYC, done quite well. So glad this place exists so I can get my fix. Pro tip: order a whole pie so you get the freshy fresh, and freeze the rest.
I’m in love with the white pizza. The crust is amazing!!!! Also highly recommend one of the specialty pizzas they are offering now which has a garlic aioli and corn. Unlike anything I have ever had before. Sooooooooooo yummy.
One of the best pizza places in the district, which doesn't do justice to the place. Outstanding and worth the trip. Have yet to be anything other than pleased each visit.
I went in and tried the cheese and pepperoni since people were raving about it. I was not disappointed at all. They have some good options and the staff were very nice. I’d definitely come back.
Pizza was a hit for the whole family. Very delicious , even my picky teen.
Really great slice. Love the square pizzas. Always well prepared and delicious every time.
What an amazing explosion of flavor in my mouth. Fast and friendly and all around awesome staff and food. Nice location at the Rost, very casual and comfortable environment.
Great square pizza! Bring back the meatball.

Stumbled up on this cool food incubator. Overall pizza was not bad!
We tried this place tonight on a whim, since we’ve been looking for New York style pizza in DC. We ordered the 20” Guilty Pleasure pizza and a slice of the white pizza. We couldn’t really taste anything aside from the cheese on the guilty pleasure, and garlic on the white pizza. The guilty pleasure was really oily and the dough was way too chewy and flavorless. Unfortunately, more than half of the pizza was tossed out, because I became incredibly nauseous after a couple slices. I wish I could give this place a better review, but overall not a great experience.

The most trifling staff. I went to the counter to order a slice of pizza and as I’m waiting to be helped (b/c the lady was talking to another worker next to her), I see her put something on a back counter and lick / put two fingers in her mouth to get whatever was off her hands. She proceeds to take my order and starts to grab my pizza WITH HER BARE UNWASHED, UNGLOVED hands. I stopped her in her tracks asking her to wash her hands or put on gloves before handling my food. She looked at me crazy, proceeded to talk to her coworker in her native language (probably about me) and put on ONE glove. So I told her I did not want the food anymore. Extremely disgusting, unsanitary and why are you handling ppls food w your bare hands like that, especially in my face?
Please train your staff and clarify your menu to help vegetarians receive meat free slices. I was assured there was no meat on the “Keenan and kale” pizza (which is not on the in store menu so I was unable to see what comes on the pizza) and that it only had kale and tomato sauce by your employee. After getting home, I took a bite and tasted sausage. I then checked the online menu and realized this was not a vegetarian slice.
My sister purchased a large cheese pizza (round) and square sausage pizza, we weree really disappointed at the lack of sauce on both, basically just cheese, sausage and crust. We were hoping to become regulars of this place. We ordered for pick up at 4:15ish via the website. Would not give you the one star if I could. A huge disappointment to our family!
A SINGLE slice of average to above average cheese Pizza is $6, which this makes this more expensive than any slice of pizza I have had in DC, NYC, Italy, or anywhere except Hong Kong- a CAN of Diet Coke is $3. This store has a booth in a food hall in Southeast DC and not a store front in Navy Yard or Georgetown and therefore her or his expenses cannot be that high (given that pizza has very high margins given that it consists of flour a dollop of sauce, and a handful of cheese). This type of price gouging and over charging people in DC, who often have limited experience with other real cities, makes me sick- especially as the owner will likely respond that there are 'higher costs' across the board. I HOPE OTHERS PUT THEIR FOOT DOWN AND SAY NO TO THINGS LIKE THIS AND $6 ICE COFFEE. Enough is enough. [the workers are very kind and this review in no way is directed to them. I assume the owner didn't increase his or her pay to them by 50% when they doubled their prices for a slice]
Shabby pizza stall in a shabby food hall. No taste, no atmosphere, no service.
