Nice place. The spicy sauce is the best! It’s very spicy. I recommend the Panang curry and mama curry. Curries in this place is so good. Calamari is good too. It is a pricey place though
Really yummy food, very quick, and friendly staff. We are Thai food lovers and are pretty picky about the places we go to. We had green curry, red curry, and egg rolls. The curries were both delicious and the egg rolls were perfect crunchy bites of heaven. Didn’t get photos, we chowed down way too fast. 😊
I love this pho place, is it legitimate and authentic. The chef (I'm guessing) always comes out and asks how it is and how you're doing. The wait is never too long, and their pho bowls are huge!
Tried out Pho Vatsana in Wasilla and was pleasantly surprised! The food was solid—my oxtail pho had great flavor, and my son really enjoyed his chicken fried rice. The place was clean, and the service was good. Prices are a little higher than some of the Anchorage pho spots, but it’s worth it for the convenience of having a tasty Vietnamese option close to home. My wife ordered the vegetable spring rolls and they didn't taste as she was expecting so i ended up eating them (win for me). It was wife and middle son’s first time at a Vietnamese restaurant. They're a bit picky and still adjusting to new flavors, but they both ended up liking the rice (even if they thought it had too many onions—I happily added those to my pho 😋). Overall, it’s a great spot to grab some comfort food. I’m glad to have it nearby and will definitely be back when I’m craving pho again.
Got to meet the owner and his friendly 4-legged son, Scooby! The owner made sure everything was to our liking. Best Pad Thai my husband has ever had! I enjoyed my Pad See Ew!! Beautiful presentation with so much flavor! Large portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Our first of many trips back to enjoy a meal and friendly service!
My new go to spot for Pho. Had the oxtail it was so delicious. The oxtail was cooked perfectly, the veggies were fresh and the soup was touched with all the aromatics you hope for in a lip smacking bone broth. The owner even helped me carry my order to the car which was my favorite little touch. We don't have a lot of real restaurants in alaska with genuine hospitality, so it's refreshing to know that Pho Vatsana is here to stay. Cheers guys you deserve it...
Enjoyed the spring rolls, chicken satay, beef pho, Tom yum, and pad thai! Tasted amazing!! Will be back! Plus their mascot dog was great! Authentic and fresh flavors! I've been to many pho places in Alaska and the lower 48, but this one is top knotch! Our server Sam was attentive and responsive!
This place has a beautiful and consistent quality. High variety. Ingredients are always fresh, with large portions. Wonderful and bold flavors. Comfort food to boost your soul in any season. They even have duck! Speed is quick and location conveniently near downtown if you are in a rush for lunch. It's one of my personal favorites in the valley.
So far the best Thai/pho I have found in the Valley! FRESH spring rolls: actually Fresh ingredients. you can taste the difference. and rice papers were not like glue. They were freshly made which has not been my experience at other places. Pho Thai: delicious broth and fresh quality veg, chili crisp and all the fixings readily available at the table. Great service and clean restaurant. I will be coming here again.
First time coming here and i absolutely loved it!! I got the Pho Thai and the broth was so flavorful, my boyfriend ordered the “Two golden girls” and that was amazing too. Really big portions and affordable prices. The owner was really friendly and fun to talk to :) definitely recommend this place but DO NOT TAKE THE SPICE LEVELS LIGHTLY. We ordered a level 3/5 and honestly I don’t even want to think about what a 5 would be..
Rediscovered this place and am very happy to! Used to go here with my family years ago, but I don't frequent it as often because the location is a little out of my way compared to previous living locations. The other reason why I think I hadn't tried it in a while is because on their menu, it doesn't openly say that tofu is an option for curry, it just says choose chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp. But tofu is an option on another menu item so I asked and they were happy to replace it on their Mama's Chicken Curry that I ordered. In the past when I had looked up menus I thought they didn't have tofu as an option so then decided to go somewhere else, but they definitely do have it so anyone that doesn't eat meat or prefers tofu don't skip on this place! They can replace tofu for other dishes as well. We got spring rolls for an appetizer and their spring rolls are some of the better in the valley I think. Their presentation is really nice and the sauce is very good, more on the vinegary tangy side which I prefer over a peanut-y sauce. They also include 8 spring rolls instead of 6 which is nice. They are a little thinner but sometimes that's nice because they're easier to eat. I ordered the Mama's Chicken Curry and replaced chicken with tofu. The flavor of the curry was really good. Rivals my other favorite thai curry in the valley (Pho Lucky). I really need to try their red and green varieties. Plenty of veggies and a big portion enough for 2 meals. My husband got their pad thai and thai tea and really enjoyed it. Their service is really good here too, they are very friendly and prompt. Also they are open on Sunday! I always find myself craving thai food on Sundays but most of the places in the valley aren't open. Highly recommend!
This place has got a traditional Thai vibe. The food was quite tasty. We ordered Fresh veggie spring roll and Khoa pad fried rice. The roll was crispy crunchy, tasty and most importantly less oil. And the fried rice is really tasty with right amount of flavors. They were the right amount for a person. Didn't feel full nor not enough.
Online menu prices waaaaay cheaper than actual house prices. To me that is blatantly lying to your customers before you even meet. Food was good.
Price a bit high but they truly care about your food and the quality and quantity of the food makes a difference. Ordered the fried Yung duck, will come again as duck is hard to find on the menu. Notable mention has AK delivery app poster out front if you want delivery.
The chicken Satay was juicy. The Pho was deep and filling. The (what I'm guessing was) owner was super friendly and very attentive to everyone's needs. I will definitely be going back and checking more of their menu out. Not too bad of a price for Pho. If you're looking for something different, check em out.
It was ok. I got the impression that the food was old. The meatballs didn't taste right to me and the garnishes for the pho were looking expired. It was also strange that we were the only customers for the duration of our dine in, which says a lot about a restaurant. This place can also use a massive upgrade.
Ordered pho to go and asked for the steak on the side so many times. The lady on the phone even repeated it back to me steak on the side. I get the food home and they put the steak in the broth. Can’t follow SIMPLE instructions. Will not be going back since this is the second time this has happened.
We came feeling famish after a long glacier hike and had pho here. They broke every single pho rules resulting in anything but pho. We ordered fried banana ice cream, which was brought out while we were still having our dinner. The sauces and condiments looked old , and the color had changed. How did they get 4.6 stars?
So the guy up front fighting with my husband about how we didn't order correctly even tho when I was on the phone with him seemed to have everything just fine. Arriving, the dog started barking at my husband, and the staff seemed to be very rude. It was a total of $83, and sadly, my husband didn't ask for the receipt, but I had ordered a noodle soup for my child, and on the phone, he never asked if I wanted any meat on it and when the food was picked up we only got 2 out of the 3. When paying, they are forcing a 15-20% tip, which i dont think is nice, and I'll give it if only I had received everything I ordered. Springrolls lettuce was brown like of it was left out for too long with kind of a dish water flavor. Asked for duck noodles, and whatever meat was in there had more not eatable parts than actual meat. Thai Iced tea is the only thing that was delicious:/
I am not sure where all the good reviews came from, our experience was far from excellent. However, this is just my experience. The food was not good at all. I got the chicken friend rice and for the first time (at a Thai restaurant ) I was served gooey rice. Our waiter never returned to the table while we were eating to check on us, nor was he pleasant. One word responses. My husband got the beef Pho and he said it was SUPER salty and very sub par. My husband is Filipino and avidly eats pho as it’s one of his favorites, so for him to say it’s salty takes a lot. When we went to pay for our food the waiter asked how everything was and I told him the rice was very gooey and he never responded, not a word. Just charged us 54 bucks for a meal that was not good. I do not recommend this restaurant. The restaurant itself is also very outdated, which isn’t off putting because we love hole in the wall places, however, that combined with the food was disappointing.
