No frills. And that's partially why i love it. Great tasting food with a wonderful hometown feel. I first went there 25 years ago while I was in college and it's still the same now as it was then. And that's why i keep coming back whenever i happen to be nearby. PS always ask for gravy cheese fries over home fries. You went be disappointed. Haha

I’ve been coming here for almost 7 years, and I just wanted to leave a review finally because today made me realize how much I really do love and value this place. Not only are they my go-to for late nights/early mornings, but they always have the nicest servers and the fastest service for a small diner. Today was the first time I’ve come alone with both of my small kids- it’s usually pretty hard for me to take them places alone because they’re very impatient. But today our food came out so quickly and the waitress even went out of her way to make sure my daughter felt just as special as my son. I’ve never once had a bad experience here, I’ve come throughout both of my pregnancies, hungover from a night out and everything in between. I appreciate the servers and the cooks more than they could ever imagine and I don’t even know them personally! They’re literally always there when I’m starving, day or night and am on a budget! Never forget how much us locals love and appreciate this place! ❤️

I don't expect this cozy li'l diner needs my review but I want to give one because I enjoyed my meal immensely! I came for breakfast and ordered the breakfast bowl. It was literally perfect in every way...(I can't fully explain, because it actually tasted very similar to something my grandma used to make for me, which also served an onslaught of wonderful memories). <3 I had a lovely chat with the lady that served me. She's worked there for quite some time and I believe that's a very good sign too, for obvious reasons. I don't live in the area but if I did, I'd be at this place for at least 2 or 3 meals a week - no exaggeration. If you like diners, you'll LOVE this one!! :D

This place seriously has the best overall classic diner experience. My husband and I normally get double cheeseburgers (they are made to order and with perfection). From staff, to food being served, even prices--Bob's is one of the best affordable eats out there in the 518. And it's 24 hours, so when you get that late night craving..totally this place is place to go too!!

Its a 24-hour diner. We were there around 9am on a Monday, and the lot was empty; one other party inside. While we were there, more people came in. Very welcoming staff, and our order was taken in good time, was correct, and it was good!

Great place. The atmosphere is a nice cozy little small town diner. All the staff was always super nice when we would go there when we lived in Vliet. They knew or order as soon as we called. The food is always amazing. My husband would get the big 3 and the pancakes are always huge. I would always get the potato skins bc who doesn’t love a good potato skin? They always get your food out quick. The diner is always clean. I went there just about every week for 10 years until we moved too far away to bring food home and I’ve never once had a bad experience. 10/10 highly recommend.

Amazing things come in small packages! Don't let the size fool you! This food is amazing! The perfect toast of the sesame seed bun, my crisp bacon and BBQ chicken sandwich, the gravy on fries🤤, highly recommend. Just as I remember. We had a very special family dinner here yesterday. #1 the staff is AMAZING! The 2 gentlemen that were working are just amazing. Their service was OFF THE HOOK! They both went above and beyond, even when my sister was being a bit Karen-ish (I'm really sorry about her guys). That was some of the best service I have ever had. Like Michelin Star service. Bobs is a Watervliet staple. If it was not 24-hours I would never return, yet I do sometimes for lunch— something I mention during therapy sessions. Nonetheless the meatloaf is actually good, but I’m one of the few weird sort who likes meat loaf. All in all a horrible and yet fulfilling experience.

Nice place, local diners are always the best. Friendly waiter, menu prices will give you sticker shock as they are amazingly over-priced for a diner. Potatoes are frozen except for home fries which lack the requisite onions and peppers. Gravy and roast beef are home made, portions are good, though roast beef was well stacked it was also dried out. 40 years in the business, I expected better.

Bob's diner is great at 4:00 a.m. in the morning after you get out of the club but after recently trying it sober I'd have to say it's just okay. But one of the only places in the Capital district open 24 hours can't beat it

My only complaint is that I never get my dinner roll and sometimes I don’t get my soup (which the soup here is awesome) . This is for take out only I’ve never sat down and ate . But I’ll keep going back

As a Diner Enthusiast, I have had my fair share of commonly requested diners. I think this was the most talked about diner in the capital region. Being known for one of, if not the only, 24 hour diner in the area, it carries some mystique. Located right next to a railroad, this place attracts all walks of life. Bob's is a 24 hr diner, and we got there at 1 am. We were warned that the cook was new and that they already had 10 online orders to fill so it could be a wait. Bobs is truly an old school diner. It is open 24/7 and I think it's closed only 1 day a year. I read some of the other reviews, this is not a chain or franchise. It's the kind of place that you go for comfort food. I like the weekly specials and the fact that Senior citizens go there. (The group that was there were arguing politics and fossil fuel) I mention this because that's the type of place it is. Doesn't pretend to be anything more. Food was filling and tasted good. Not what it used to be. Found the food very disappointing, overpriced for what I received, bread wasn't fresh, turkey tasted like everything else stored open the cooler. Restaurant not so clean either. Dust on everything . Watched a picture fall on a child while I was there, not attached to the wall properly. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt. Staff leaned the picture back on the ledge instead of removing it so it wouldn't fall again.

Always loved Bob's Diner. It's been a while since I have been there. Food is always good. I just cannot get over to the price increases. Understood it's not just Bob's but a roast beef deli sandwich and a cup of coffee 30.00 including tip. I know my pay did not go up 100 percent.

10/11/2025,my family and I went there for supper, the food and service was fine however, we didn't know there would be a surcharge if paying with a credit or debit card.

Some places are quaint, some places are retro. This is not one of those places. The inside looks old and rundown. Breakfast was ordinary. I asked for three scrambled eggs and instead of having the eggs scrambled in separate pieces. It was like they were baked all together. Kind of in a semi circular mass. Not what I would characterize as scrambled eggs. On the good side was able to substitute cottage cheese for home fries. The service was good. The coffee was hot and it was refilled regularly without asking. I would not be back. There are much better choices for both food and atmosphere unless it was 2 AM and I was hungry and there was no place else to go.

There were two waitresses on staff the night we went, both ladies were very friendly and attentive. Service was quick. The space itself seemed clean, our table and seats were clean. The french toast is made from slices of wonder bread, which was kind of a sad surprise, but it was tasty anyway. Otherwise, the food was...not good. Potatoes burnt on one side and some pieces raw. I had a steak that was flat, fatty, overcooked but not browned, and unseasoned. It was dry and flavorless. My boyfriend got the hamburger steak breakfast, which turned out to be a hefty sized burger patty, but again, it was grey, not browned, and there was absolutely no seasoning in or on it. The price would have been reasonable if the food had been prepared well. The quality just doesn't match the cost.

I ordered a breakfast platter, eggs ham and potatoes. The potatoes were soggy and cold. The eggs were cold and tasteless. The ham was the only thing I ate. The atmosphere was decent tho a nice little diner but I won't be going back there for breakfast anytime soon.

Girl was fire cute and nice, understood when I showed her the steak was raw. The cook should be fired. I don't know him never seen him but any cook willing to dish out food like that will certainly cause the owner of this establishment some serious $$$$ I put this not as an attack but an attempt to save your business. If he's new tell him to get a cook book he's not checking the food. My steak was so raw on the inside it looked like fresh meat on the inside.

Bob's was a rip off when it came to my steak and eggs. Asked for the 6oz steak medium rare it came out all one color basically well done, and tough. Too thin. It was very fatty as well. 28 dollars after tip,for 3 eggs over easy, they were more than easy, a couple of hash browns, like hardly any, and toast. The waiter didn't even ask me what kind of toast I wanted. This place is very shabby, only ate there out of necessity nothing else open. They also don't have the option of real maple syrup, you can at least buy this at other diners. I won't go there again. Took the rest of my meal home and will probably give it to dogs

Well, Bob's has definitely gone downhill. When my Grandparents were alive, we would come here often.. Nice and attentive servers (like Mary [no longer there]), decently priced food and the order takers listened when you asked for no onions, you didn't get any. Been going to Bobs for over 30 years. The last few times the service has been terrible, the food isn’t what it used to be, and tonight, while there with my family, they let some old timer sleep in his booth and fart while people are there eating their dinner. I have never been so disgusted at a restaurant in my life. Time for some new staff and better policy!

Portions have been horrible. Make multiple orders to wait just to get canceled. Make large orders for groups they just get canceled. Awful online service. Always loved this place too.

Lowest-tier "diner" you could ever experience. They buy frozen food from the Price Chopper down the road and upcharge you. Their "French toast" is wonder-bread dipped in unflavored egg/cream. I’m honestly really disappointed. I used to love Bob’s Diner. My opinion has been changed. I work late nights. Often I would place an order on DoorDash, and pick it up in the way home. Over the past three months I’ve ordered and I’ve noticed that I’d get home with no syrup, butter, or utensils. I can live with that. What I can’t live with is not getting things in my order that I was up charged for. For example, chocolate chip pancakes, no chocolate chips. French Toast with strawberries. No strawberries. More times than not I would get home and be missing something. I always let it go, I hate saying anything. I’ve had enough though. About a month ago I had ordered and in my order was a large sprite and a large coke. When I went to pick it up, I had two large sprites. When I brought it to the young lady’s attention behind the counter she stated “No you ordered two sprites” I went to show her my order on my phone and she walked away. Instead of arguing I left. Tonight, I ordered Bob’s again. I pulled up and they weren’t busy. One patron at the counter and two tables in the dining room. I picked my order up and asked for syrup and the strawberries that I had paid for that wasn’t in the bag. I should have taken that as a clue and actually went through the order. I had gotten home and my fiancé had her pancakes, I however didn’t have my French toast. I called immediately and it rang continuously. I was put on hold three times before someone picked up. I was told essentially to go through DoorDash to get refunded. The problem is, it’s all the time now. I always tip well. I am always very polite. When I pay for something, I expect that something. Bobs has completely gone down hill. They have no consistency anymore except consistently forgetting things in orders. The staff was rude and dismissive. I’m sorry if you’re miserable, I’m sorry if you don’t like your job. The least you can do for a paying customer is the bare minimum and make sure everything is in the order before it is bagged up and I am pushed out the door because you just don’t want to do your job. If a customer steals from you it is wrong, but in Bob’s eyes it is okay to steal from the customer. What a shame. Hopefully management will clean house and dump the dead weight employees that can’t do their jobs. Until then, I won’t be returning and honestly I don’t recommend anyone else does. You’ll just be disappointed when you get home and you’re missing half your order. Do better.

It's very clear that customer service is not a priority. They never read the specifics or special instructions on to go orders from DoorDash. I have put in there several times that I'm allergic to pickles and tomatoes....every single time it ends up on my food. Gave this plave 3 chances....NEVER AGAIN. The second time I called to inform them this happened. Its very clear they cant change.

i had my boyfriend pick me up food cause i like going to bobs and eating from here but when he came home with this i was pretty upset. they should of told him i usely get the popcorn chicken can anyone please tell me what’s wrong w this picture.

Waiter rushed us, forgot to bring out item, then refused to do so when requested. Added items to our bill that we didn’t order and wouldn’t split our check at during hours they claim they will.

Asked for bacon on the side and it was burnt potatoes were raw waitress was young didn't know what she was doing and then goes and talks to the other waitress about customer complaining how she got the order wrong would not recommend and will not be back

They forgot most of my food plus it was cold im giving one star bc i cant do anything lower go to taco bell for food save your money

Food nasty over priced been without a drink for 10 mins server asleep at 7:11pm wow also people at these tables left 20 mins ago and she throw my check on the floor

Decent enough food and fast service. Nothing exceptional, table in the back could use a coaster under the legs. Little more expensive than most diners I've been to. Update: got food poisoning

My family has been eating here for years. We ordered breakfast bowls today and for the second time in as many weeks the potatoes were undercooked. My husband called and instead of being offered a replacement, the young man who answered told him the cook said they were in fact cooked properly. Why would we call to make this complaint if the potatoes were cooked thoroughly? My husband asked for a manager and was told none were working today. Thanks for nothing!!!!

Food taste like hospital food! Just asked me what i was here for gave it to me and that’s it. No flavor what so ever! But i guess that’s how they treat black customers. ANYWAYS I WOULD GIVE A 0! It WAS NASTY! Bland! French toast was so dry i couldn’t even eat it! It’s a NEVER FOR ME!!

Boy has this place gone downhill over the years. I haven’t been here in about 5 years so we decided to go back. All of the food was bland didn’t have any seasoning. Possibly the worst eggs Benedict I’ve had. Burnt English muffin , dry burnt ham and flavorless Hollandaise sauce. Coffee also tasted bitter an burnt. Definitely will not be returning and will be going back to our regular spot in Clifton park.

Nasty food. Never come here again. Use to be a nice place. Went down hill bad. Do not recommend this place for nobody you call this a meatball sub. Old meatballs on bread with cold sauce and cold fries.

Ask for turkey club no pickle and plane. because they didn't have mayonnaise.Only salad dressing can't have it because of the content of vinegar. Makes me ill. I don't think I'll ever go back there again. Can't follow direction.

I’m not sure why there is so many good reviews… This is actually DISGUSTING. $19 dollars for a french toast meal. The french toast was essentially just bread , no flavor. Greasy potatoes! I’m actually so upset because i was expecting something good.. ESPECIALLY for the price. just awful.

It’s been a disaster every time I’ve ordered from this restaurant. Every time I order the strawberry shortcake something is always mess with it whether it’s the sauce or the whipped cream. This place is a dump.

A friend and I got some breakfast there at like 5 in the morning. He got something called the no meat and I ordered 3 eggs with home fries and toast and 3 pancakes. My home fries are burnt as hell! I added the hot sauce and the seasonings so ignore that. The staff was extremely friendly although it was a little chilly inside. I don't really care about that, it's just the home fries.
