The service was great and the ambiance was nice and romantic. Our server Edwin is definitely top notch, recommended great drinks and dishes and his bubbly personality definitely made us feel very welcomed there. But but let's talk about what's most important, the food. Every single bite was tasty, on point, succulent. Everything about this establishment was top notch and I plan on returning.
we were recommended this place and went for a family memebers birthday. the restaurant was very nice, and thr waiter, Oscar offered us dishes according to our preferences. They were friendly, and when it came time for the cake, they helped us cut and serve it. It was a great family experience.
This place is amazing. The amount of food, the service is fast and friendly. We sat outside, the food came fast and always so delicious and so much. The drinks were not watered down. This place was just overall great and would recommend it.
Absolutely loved this place! My family happened to come on a karaoke night, and it turned out to be such a fun surprise. The Peruvian food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious — every dish we tried was a hit. The service was fantastic, super friendly and attentive. Our waiter was not only incredibly handsome but also surprised us with an amazing singing voice — such a great performer! Karaoke with the fabulous hostess Jessica was a total blast; she kept the energy up and made everyone feel welcome and included. Overall, it was a wonderful night filled with great food, great music, and great company. Can’t wait to go back!
Very nice service. Came in with a friend. It was the first time here for the both of us. We didn't know the Manu. Our waiter Oscar had great suggestions and kept checking if everything was good and if we needed something else. The drinks 🍸 were excellent. Highly recommend this place.
Woow.. this restaurant surprise me .. for the best. I have been here about 4 year ago and food was good. But the restaurant was a little small. However they have renewed everything. Service is great servers are pretty good. FOOD WAS AMAZING 10/10 I had "choritos a la chalaca" The mussels were fresh . That's a plus since a lot a restaurant have them frozen. . Then I had the " trio Marino" ceviche, arroz con marisco, y causa de pollo... ceviche was good. The arroz con marisco big portion . Big shrimps and the rice creamy , the cause had a lot of chicken. And avocado which was great... the fried calamari was an appetizer big potion as well. And the milanese de pollo . Very good as well.. Ahh y los ajicitos.. aji de pollo, crema de rocoto, y aji verde tradicional The restaurant is big now lots of tables. Huge screen, good to watch the games .they have an scenario which I think they have small bands in the weekends. Weekends is popular there.
The food was fantastic! I ordered the Pargo Marino with smoothies, and the portion was generous—enough for two people with leftovers. While I usually prefer fried rice, it was great to try something new. The service was excellent; the staff was kind, gave us just the right amount of space and conversation, and even helped navigate the menu. I discovered this spot thanks to TikTok, and despite the 45-minute drive from Brooklyn, it was absolutely worth it. The Love Day décor was beautifully done, and the customer service was great, even with some language barriers. I would definitely return and even consider hosting a private event here!
Great atmosphere, great food. Wonderful service. EDIT: After careful consideration I went over the taste and quality of the food as well as the service and realized I was wrong. This place was simply incredible! The service was over the top attentive and understanding. The food was fresh, grilled outdoors and the kitchen items was prepared to order. The flavors were outstanding! La Candella II really is a great place! The original place is in Hicksville which I now think deserves a visit as well!
We came here last minute to review. The atmosphere is awesome. A lot of music and great vibe. We were attended by Lester the waiter. He was great and patience when we were ordering. Great hospitality and people. We order Peruvian favorite plate of lomo saltado which is steak sautéed with tomato white rice and fries. Great food and ended our meal with gizzard and ice cream. Great price and great food. Great place for friends and family. They have a outdoor dining but because were in New York its cold but highly recommended in the summer.
First time visiting, but won't be our last! This place has a warm cozy feel and opens up into a larger back room. The food is very good and the sangria sweet! The menu had great options, some that we haven't seen at other Peruvian restaurants. This was a nice place and I'm glad we were in the area !
Food is always great and the service is super.. music ,drinks , food and even dancing.. Definitely worth the money.. you have indoor ,outdoor and bar sitting.. is a perfect spot to have a good time.
I came to this place I just randomly found it didn’t know they had one in this area. I’ve only been to the one in Huntington. But the service from Huntington and here are night and day. I sat at the bar thinking I was gonna get prompt bar service (drinks). Which I only chose beer, and I must say their beers are very cold on top of it all they serve it to you in a cold glass mug. But there was a temporary bartender. And my server kept disappearing every time I wanted another beer. Servers would pass by me stare at my empty glass and just keep walking. Not one person at the bar bartending. It wasn’t busy the place had half of the entire place empty. All you can see is a bunch of servers just walking around. I ordered the last thing on the ceviche menu. Which was recommended by the server because I originally wanted to order “la concha negra” but according to the server he said that the other dish below it had the same thing just had fried calamari and shrimp on the top. But when I got my dish which looked really nice and pretty looking but it lacked on the main seafood (concha negra) it had about 5 I counted and the rest was chopped onion s and soggy fried fish. As far as Service goes for the amount of servers that were there it was a 👎🏽 . But the beers were cold. And the live music was cool.
We made reservations for 8pm on Valentine's Day! We got there at 7:45. I can tell it was very busy because it was a Friday night. What was frustrating was that we told the host that we had reservations but he didn't speak any English and he didn't understand what we were saying. We ended up waiting an extra hour to be seated and what was annoying was that he was seating people who came in after us. I honestly believe it was because of the language barrier. I was very frustrated. We were seated and we ordered calamari. It was good! We also ordered our entrees and that was really delicious. I had chicken milinase and my husband had grilled chicken. Food and the atmosphere were good! Our waiter was very sweet. Towards the end it took really long for us to get the bill and get a box to pack our food. The place was so disorganized. I always believe if you have a reservation it should be honored. Overall the food was delicious and I would just order it to go instead of dine in.
This was my first time in this restaurant. It operates like a fancy restaurant but it isn't. Anyone can enjoy their food. My brother enjoy the ahí de gallina with it's fish soup (the soup was delicious). However the lomo saltado wasn't as good as I had tasted it somewhere else. I ended up living it untouched and for courtesy I took it home (I am that type of person that don't like to fight back when the food is not well, most of the time). The milanesa de pollo was too dry for my taste. The dining area has nice decoration, but I think it is a bit too much and doesn't match with the type of restaurant it is.
I’m only putting two stars because the food is good, but the service is horrible. Many times I’ve called and had to wait ridicules times to place an order for pick up. Today 3/7/26 7:30pm I waited 10+ minutes on hold while we heard the waiters divide their tips. they had made $250 something over the night each one was getting 50ish. Among other conversations. Very distasteful to put a customer on “hold” to divide your tips.
"I am writing to provide feedback on my recent dining experience. The food and drinks were very impressive, and we were quite happy with the quality of our meal. However, I was very disappointed to be charged $10 for a small bottle of tonic water. This pricing seems unreasonable and is not something I would expect . I hope you will reconsider this policy.
Yesterday I went there with few friends and I must say I was embarrassed for having recommended them to come with me . The food was good but when It was time to pay the waiter Eduardo came back to our table saying we were short by apparently ten dollars . The money was counted by two different people so there is no way was the money was short but rather than the manager being empathetic and recognizing a potential for error ( perhaps the waiter dropped the money on his way to the counter ) instead the manager was confrontational and rude . He said he absolutely doesn't make any mistakes when he counts money and that he won't try to rob someone for just ten dollars . I just feel this manager was very unprofessional and not the proper way to treat us who are customers who been loyal there and have recommended a lot of other people there in the past for their good cuisine . It's a Shame one rude manager will be the reason why I will stop coming Here or recommend anyone else to go there anymore .
We came here to celebrate a special birthday, and it turned into a nightmare. A cockroach crawled out with our birthday cake, completely ruining the moment. The manager barely acknowledged the situation, gave us a measly 10% discount, and didn’t even apologize! This level of disregard for basic cleanliness and customer service is unacceptable. We’ll never be coming back and suggest you think twice before dining here.
