⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Lobster Lover’s Dream in West Palm Beach As someone who lives for seafood and has been lucky enough to eat my way around the globe, I don’t say this lightly: the lobster tail I had at Belle Maxwell in West Palm Beach is hands-down the best I’ve had so far. The portion was heroic and massive, perfectly cooked lobster tail perched on a beautiful plate of pasta, bursting with flavour, texture, and pure indulgence. The lobster was sweet, juicy, and tender, finished with a golden, crispy topping that added just the right amount of crunch without stealing the spotlight from the star of the show. Every bite felt deliberate, balanced, and luxurious. I paired that with a chilled bottle of rosé, a gorgeous outdoor setting, and service that makes you want to stay for “just one more,” and you’ve got a dining experience that goes way beyond just a meal - it’s a memory. If you’re a seafood fan, a lobster lover, or just someone who appreciates exceptional food done properly, Belle Maxwell is an absolute must-visit in West Palm Beach. This is the kind of dish you plan your return trip around. 🌊🦞 10/10 - I’ll be talking about this lobster tail for a long time.
An absolute masterpiece! The shrimp were perfectly succulent and tender, bathed in a rich, velvety garlic-butter sauce that clung to every strand of the perfectly al dente pasta. It had just the right hint of lemon and garlic, instantly transporting me to sunny Italy. Truly the perfect dish I will definitely be visiting again!
Sean was great and very friendly. Definitely catered to us, so friendly and gave us advice on food interests. Great dinner. I’ve never tried zucchini pasta before and it was delicious with chicken. The salad with steak was delicious. Desertbwas ricotta cheesecake cake. Very light and delicious.
We went here for a dinner on a Sunday. Don’t be alarmed if it’s not super busy. The food will blow you away. The decor makes me feel like I’m at an Italian grandma’s home eating dinner. The appetizers were great portions, the entree and dessert absolutely delicious. Sean our waiter was very attentive and kind. Definitely give them a visit.
Yana was drunk again last night. Seems like everytime I come there she is. far more right than than wrong with this place. Food was fantastic
Excellent place ! The food is just Wow! So delicious ! The service is fantastic as well! Cannot wait to come again. Every dish was made with love.
We got the baked brie and pear appetizer, it was incredible, also had the margarita flat bread- delicious. And we shared the chicken piccata. Everything was delicious, the service was good. Highly recommend
My words can’t describe the pleasure. I had the taste with different mixtures balanced to perfection. It is now an addiction to me to have this now every time I’m in the area, beautiful atmosphere. Great treatment also.
Belle & Maxwell's How would I describe Belle & Maxwell's? Stylish, eclectic and chic - and with a lovely selection of wines and superbly prepared foods. Located on South Dixie Highway in West Palm Brach, this American restaurant is a neighborhood gem that serves fresh, delicious gourmet salads, flatbreads, pasta specialties, seafood and tapas. They offer vegetarian friendly and vegan options, as well as gluten free choices. My friend Pattie and I have enjoyed many long lunches - often on the back patio on pretty days. And another friend, Erica, and I took to treating one another to risotto for birthday celebrations. I like to order the baked Brie appetizer, which is topped with pecans and honey, and served with house-made crackers. Keeping with the pear theme, I'll often order the pear, Gorgonzola and field greens salad, which is topped with walnuts and to which you can add shrimp, chicken or a crabcake. Do you like soup? Try the chilled gazpacho. Grilled salmon, a filet mignon or house-made crabcake would be among my recommendations for an entree. Also enjoyable are Belle & Maxwell's monthly wine tastings and dinner events. Sit back and allow the experienced sommelier to take you on a fun and informative journey showcasing the history of the wines served as you enjoy the hors d'oeuvres that are paired with the selected wines. The restaurant has an e-club so you can be notified whenever a wine event is planned.
Food was great, the service was fast and professional. Our server paid attention to us and we didn't wait on aything. I got the salmon and it was huge.
What a beautiful little oasis in west Palm. This is a quaint quiet space with nice ambiance that’s under the radar but well worth the trip. The garden out back is relaxing and food did not disappoint. I would highly recommend the Caprese sandwich - add the prosciutto! All the staff was super friendly and came to say hello, very welcoming. Ben our waiter was fantastic and Sean was kind enough to take some wonderful family photos for us on Easter! We’ll be back!
A Five-Star Dining Experience - Simply Incredible! During my visit to West Palm Beach, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Belle & Maxwell’s, and it was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment I walked in, I was met with a warm, inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The food was beyond incredible - each dish was crafted with precision, packed with flavor, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like a perfect balance of fresh, high-quality ingredients and culinary expertise. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. The service was outstanding, with a team that goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality truly elevated the experience. Belle & Maxwell’s is a must-visit best restaurant in West Palm Beach, offering a dining experience that is both refined and comfortable. If you’re looking for exceptional food, a fantastic ambiance, and five-star service, look no further. Already looking forward to my next visit!
It had such a quaint, European feel. So cozy and definitely gives off a romantic vibe. The food was very delicious and fresh. Our waiter, Shawn was very attentive and friendly. Thank you for a great experience!
Update: New management, new decor & even better menu with special menu items! We had dinner tonight and both meals were delicious. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was elegant, yet relaxing. We ate here from time to time before the new owners took over and it always seemed a little dark and cramped. Now, it’s bright and cheerful, with an inviting ambiance. Today, I had seared tuna salad and my husband had chicken and apple sandwich-both delicious. Loved the many colors and flavors in every bite. Next time, I have to try one of those yummy-looking homemade cookies I spotted when we were leaving.
We have been here three times and every time the food has been fantastic and absolutely delicious. Sean our waiter on our most recent visit has been wonderful, helpful on what to order and everything was on point.
I got there with a party of 10 people and they accommodated me in five minutes. It was one of the best experiences we had the food was some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had in my life and I travel the world. I’ve seen places that have different kind of foods and style and I do got to say I was very pleased with the atmosphere. The food was just delicious. You can’t go wrong coming here. Plus, the selection of wine was impressing and he went above and beyond because we had some people with food allergies and they made us very comfortable and made sure everything was served on different plates. I cannot emphasize how great of an experience this was I will be here once a week. My name is Kal if you see me say hello Today was my 17th time coming to this beautiful place and so far I have not been disappointed the food, the atmosphere the crowd truly a good, relaxing place to come with a few friends and really have a nice conversation. Plus the meal was amazing. Thank you
Delicious food, great service — such a good spot! Sean was amazing and made the experience even better. The mushroom risotto, chicken, and penne a la vodka were all absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Excellent spot, atmosphere is great. Had Mussels and a Filet. Delicious. The tiramisu desert is excellent.
I been to a number of places during my stay in Florida & not usually leaving any reviews, however Bella & Maxwell's managed to impress me to the level when I decided to spend some time and share a very impressive experience I had during an outstanding dinner. The seafood special offered by chief was mindblowing and champagne recommended by very professional personnel made a priceless tasting experience. Don't forget to try their delicious cheesecake desert !
Sean was wonderful! We have been coming here for years and the food is always great and the atmosphere is cozy and eclectic. Great selection of wine and cute bar and outside patio area
Amazing menu and service! The burrata salad was different with the arugula and firm tomato stack. Delicious! The pasta with clams cooked to perfection. Hard to beat! Sean our server was great!
One of my favorite restaurants ever! I moved to Florida a few months ago and have been coming here ever since! The hospitality and atmosphere in here is absolutely amazing and the food is SO good!!!!!!! There is beautiful stain glass in the window and beautiful flowers everywhere too! Erik and Darwin are always our servers and they make the experience perfect! They were so kind and we come back weekly because of them! The coconut shrimp and quiche of the day are my absolute favorite!! These dishes were both recommended by Erik and I get them everytime! Everyone has to check out this place!!!!! SO GOOD!!!!!
Came here on a weekday afternoon for happy hour. Sean took care of us at the bar and was so attentive and nice! The pepperoni flatbread was very good. Will definitely be back!
Fabulous ambiance, and delicious food with great service. Sean is a gem. Highly recommend. The whole place is a vibe!
Wonderful food and service. Were regular lunch customers but dinner here it just great! Highly recommend. As the weather turns, they also have outdoor dining!
We sat outside behind the restaurant. It has a nice and cozy feeling sorounded by blooming bougevilias. Gotta get the mussle by the dozen apps. The sauce is so good.
My husband and I were in the area visiting from St Petersburg. We found Belle and Maxwells by chance. It is absolutely wonderful! We had happy hr from 4-6 which the wine selection was enormous. The Merlot was smooth and very nice. I ordered mussels as an appetizer with the marinara base. Mussels were done perfectly. I ordered Parmesan crusted chicken and my husband order salmon. I could cut my chicken with a fork. It was so tender and moist. My husbands salmon was equally as good. Both were superb! It is now our go to restaurant when in Palm Beach.
I'm so glad a friend recommended this place to me! We popped by for lunch on the weekend and it was the cutest place. Stained glass art everywhere and comfy, bold colored chairs had me the moment I saw them. The service was impeccable. I'm not a picky person about that but the folks went WAY above and beyond to be courteous, friendly, and genuinely nice (and a little funny too!). The brie, apple, and walnut sandwich was to die for, as were the desserts we tried--the flour less chocolate cake, the ricotta cheesecake, and the strawberry rhubarb pie. I only wish I still lived in the area so I could go back and dive into more 😍
Food and service were both amazing! Sean is a very attentive and pleasant as our bartender and server. 5 star!
Sean was awesome, the coffee was great, we never ran out of water Sean was like the flash, the second we'd be out, boom! He appears with water and the recommended dessert was🔥 never seen my girlfriend turn into a dinosaur and devour it in 3 seconds. The entree was awesome I had the Alfredo and it didn't last at the table longer then a minute it was so good. Thank you Sean we will be back!
Sean killed it. They got a big rush and he managed the whole room with aplomb. Food was great. (Chicken was a little dry) everything else was excellent. Lamb, meatballs, calamari… all winners. 9.5/10. Would recommend.
Such a great experience! John was the perfect waiter. Took great care of us and made the best food recommendations. The shrimp scampi and carrot cake are must eats!
Sean, our waiter was great! I'm visiting from Orange County, CA, and I so enjoyed my meal, service was excellent, fabulous artwork on display (for sale!), charming ambience. Very friendly...highly recommend! You won't be sorry😃
A very lovely dining experience, very comfortable and quaint and cozy chairs!!! they also have an outdoor patio and a very good menu. I really enjoyed the brie and the waiter Sean made great suggestions!! He is so exceptional and you can tell he likes what he does as it shows in his service!! Would definitely go back and make sure that you have Sean. He will make it even better!! excellent food as well!!!
We had a wonderful dinner, and our server Sean made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and really went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He gave great recommendations and checked in at just the right times. The food was delicious and came out quickly, but Sean’s service was the highlight of the night. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll be asking for Sean!
Quaint spot. Great Italian food. Good selection of entrees. Loved the decor. Definitely will return next time in the Palm Beach area.
Sean was super friendly and very helpful. He was very fast with refills, bread, and the food was Amazing. 🤩 five stars. Sean was the best waiter I have ever had!
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was warm and the atmosphere felt so inviting. What truly makes this place special is the owner — so lovely, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about creating a great experience for everyone who walks through the door. Can’t wait to come back!
Visited with a group of my mom and her friends. Food was delicious. Server kinda mixed himself up with splitting all the cheques but I think he was just having a day. Did not affect the lunch.
Such a cute place. The restaurant is beautiful inside and adorable outside. The backyard has a charming outdoor seating area surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. Great music playing. We had their combo lunch, you can choose a a soup or salad and a sandwich. I chose the chicken curry salad ( delicious) and the roast beef sandwich ( I felt there was too much Brie and only 2 slices of roast beef) My partner chose the same curry salad and the smoked Turkey Brie and avocado sandwich which he said was very good. The portions were good. Definitely coming back and trying some of their other items.
My daughter and I went there for lunch. I felt bad for the waiter. He was all by himself waiting on everyone. An older man too. He tried his best to give us the best service he could but still, he shouldn't have to run around like he did. Now to the food. My daughter had the tuna melt. For $18 dollars, total disappointment. Presentation was horrible. They just threw big huge slices of tomatoes on top. It was like they didn't even try. I could have made the same thing at home for under $ 5 dollars and it would have looked better. I ordered the grilled chicken club that came with salad. It was okay, not great but I ate it. The presentation on it was so much better. Would I go back ? No. There are too many restaurants out there to choose from, that for my money has better service ( not the man's fault ) and overall food is better.
I was immediately impressed by the vibe of the restaurant. It was "hole-in-the-wall-chic". The place is decorated nicely and felt very confortable. Our waiter was the only one working aside from the chef. Herein the problem lies. The waiter was also the host, the bartender, the bus boy, and everything in between. Our glasses went unfilled throughout the dinner, tables remained dirty, and our dinner took about 2 hours start to finish. We had nowhere to be so we didn't mind hanging out, but others looking for a more expeditious meal may not find one here. In addition to the issues stated above, my meal was supposed to include vegetables, which I did not receive. At the end of dinner we were handed a dessert menu, which I only received one of two items I asked for. The item I did not receive wasn't on the bill so the waiter never even rang it up, which I attribute to his ever-mounting list of things to do that night.
Our waiter was alone for a full restaurant with tables inside and out. We had a long wait for ordering, food delivery and our check. The waiter did not deliver the soup we ordered. He was very polite and apologetic. The manager was not helping the waiter at all. The food was not worth the wait. The place is cute but not worth it.
Waiter could not hear and brought the wrong dish for one of the five of us at lunch. Happily he brought the correct dish quickly. He was unwilling to split our check for more that 4 cards and charged us a 20% gratuity on the bill. We felt wronged. One of the members paid in cash and told him to keep the change. The bill came without the deduction of her meal. When confronted he acknowledge he pocketed her money and charged the other four's credit cards the full amount. We demanded the cash back and treated our friend to lunch. We have eaten at Belle and Maxwell's many times and were never treated this way by the younger waiters. I have lost my apetite for eating there again.
This may have been the worst experience me and my husband have had at a restaurant. And we are foodies and go to new places weekly. We got there at 6:30 ish. Did not have a reservation because when we checked they had many open reservations. So we decided to just show up when we got there. The man who greeted us had quite an attitude when we told him we did not have a reservation. Yet we got seated immediately. The restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. We ordered a bottle of wine, I ordered a soup for my appetizer. The soup came out imminently, it was okay. Then we ordered our food. It took about an hour and 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Before it came my husband (who is extremely non confrontational) said something to the waiter. He gave us a very dry, low key rude response. And said they only have two people in the kitchen. We decided okay… this food must be really good. They must be making it from scratch or something. When we got the food, it literally had no flavor. I got the chicken piccata. It was an un breaded un seasoned hard chicken breast…… with piccata dressing. Gross. My husband got chicken Parmesan…. Same but breaded. No sauce? And like five sprinkles of cheese. All and all we ate like 1/5 of our dinner and had a $140 check. We obviously tipped. But still… we can not stop talking about how this was by far the worst dining experience we have had in years. Do not go here unless you want to wait 3 hours for un seasoned gross food. Would not recommend at all.
I expected this place to better because of all the great reviews but was disappointed. The service was subpar. They gave us bread and butter with no utensils or plates, we had to ask to get them. They also never came to fill our waters. My boyfriend said his pasta was gross. My margarita pizza was pretty good, nothing to rave about though. One positive note, the place looks beautiful.
My handsome man brought me here for Valentine's. Let me preface this with, no matter where we went for Valentine's, it would be special. I love that we had our own time together. The meal options were pre fixe. We didn't know it was pre fixe until we were seated. We saw several tables leave after seeing the pre fixe menu. Decor: pretty tables with comfy chairs. Tiffany lamps (I didn't get a chance to check if they were true Tiffany, but I am sure they were) , and beautiful mosaic art pieces with tiles and glass. Apparently the art is for purchase, as well. Think art deco with a modern twist. Service: I think we had a server who had never been in the restaurant before that evening. I asked about the carpaccio offering and was told, "Its great. I eat it all the time. I don't know why you wouldn't like it", but had no idea what the dish was. He did go back to the kitchen and get a proper answer for me Bread wasn't put on the table until after the appetizer was served. We were only offered water and the complimentary prosecco. No other drink choices were offered, until we asked for an additional bottle of prosecco. Appetizers: I had the carpaccio and my handsome had the melon with prosciutto Carpaccio- It was supposed to be carpaccio beef with dressed arugula, pine nuts, balsamic and olive oil and a parmesean garnish. The carpaccio was sliced so thin that it stuck to the plate and I couldn't taste it. No seasoning at all. Some flaky salt and a grind or two of fresh cracked pepper would have been nice. The arugula was dry, unseasoned and not dressed. Think- a handful of dry arugula popped on top of the sliced beef. The pine nuts were few (maybe 5 of them) and raw. No olive oil or balsamic was present. The parmesean was not a true parmesean, but it was a nice relief to the unseasoned arugula and beef. Melon with prosciutto- the melon was warm, not nice and cool. Prosciutto was average. Again, unseasoned and "meh". Bread basket: sliced toast with a side of butter like I would make for breakfast. Other tables were offered olive oil. We were not. Main: We both had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We asked for our lamb to be cooked rare (so the resting time would carry over to medium rare- we knew that it was a busy night- carry over tends to go higher). The lamb was pre-cooked in the oven to well done and was tough and mealy. No seasoning. Desperately needed some salt and a fresh herb like rosemary. The mashed was okay- a little watery and needed seasoning. The asparagus was mushy and overcooked. Dessert- we both asked for the tiramisu. It was okay- You could taste the "refrigerator" and it was obviously made a few days in advance. Overall experience. For 100 dollars a person, we expected food cooked to order instead of made the night before and warmed up for service. The restaurant needs to invest in some good kosher salt for cooking and maybe a finishing salt for serving, as well as some pepper grinders. We found the exact bottle of prosecco in Aldi the next day for 10 dollars a bottle. I did love the environment. It was a pretty, romantic setting.
Disappointing Experience - Style Over Substance I really wanted to love this place, but after spending $120 on lunch, I left feeling more frustrated than satisfied. Upon arrival, I asked to sit outside since it was a beautiful day and I had a cough I didn't want to inflict on other diners. The waiter informed me the outdoor tables were purely decorative. I genuinely thought he was joking and laughed, but no—apparently they're just for show. Instead, I was seated at a cramped two-top in the corner despite being alone and multiple four-tops sitting empty. I eventually moved myself to one of those larger tables for breathing room. When you have the space, why not make guests comfortable? The service issues continued from there. I requested flat water and received sparkling; not a dig deal. Then I noticed my fork had visible crud wedged between every prong—not exactly confidence-inspiring. The burrata appetizer was decent, but the tomatoes were completely unseasoned and dragged down what could have been a great dish. The filet mignon looked promising when it arrived, but I've never encountered a filet with tendons running through it—it honestly looked pieced together. The grill marks tasted like a decade's worth of char buildup. Despite all this, I was hungry enough that I cleaned both plates. The moment I finished, the check appeared. No "Can I get you anything else?" No mention of dessert. When I asked for a dessert menu, I got the distinct impression the waiter was ready for me to leave—possibly ending his shift—so I ordered a tiramisu to go just to move things along. For the price point and the quality of both food and service, this just isn't worth it. There are too many other restaurants that would actually appreciate your business.
One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Made a 4:00 reservation online. Upon arrival, we were told they were closed from 4 to 5. After being seated, we were ignored. Waters never filled, barely checked on. Then the servers started hovering uncomfortably, and when we jokingly asked if they were trying to get us to leave, the served responded with a flat YES. No apologies, no politeness. It was so incredibly rude..... we will never be returning and definitely never recommend them.
This was supposed to be my News Year's dinner and was so sad I never made it past the appetizer which was meatball app ( great way to see if you liked a red sauce or where you stand on ordering anything more) glad I ordered it because we finished our wine and left awful, awful, awful. As I looked around, I couldn't figure out if I was in a garage sale. It closed down Greek restaurant. Or what very sad
