Started coming here about five years ago when my dad had passed away and his burial was down the road at Holy Rood Cemetery. We had a launch in there for about 50 or 60 people. Ever since then we’ve been coming back here on a pretty regular basis one of my more favorite restaurants! Everything is always delicious and on point from the waitstaff to the bus boys to the valet!! One thing I especially like is that I like my macaroni Al dente.. every time I’m NOT Disappointed they always come through! I can’t say enough good things about this place except everybody has to try it!!!

Great cocktails and appetizers: baked clams & grilled octopus, yum! Dinner,Swordfish oreganatto and broccoli rabe, excellent and an authentic Italian cheesecake for dessert with a great cup of Expresso. A memorable meal. Thank you to all that made it happen!

Food and service was excellent. I have been here many times. I recommended Steve's as a place to go after funeral services, they were so accommodating, everyone (@20) enjoyed their meal and no one rushes you out. All dishes were delicious.

Have never had a bad dinner here. We come as often as possible. Shrimp orreganata, chicken scarpiello, even the wine, excellent every time and the owner remembers everyone; makes you feel special. I cant say enough about this special place. We favor Westbury but you get the best service and food at all 3 restaurants ! We went to Steve’s last night for my daughter Morgan’s boyfriend Andrew’s birthday 🥳. The food was amazingly delicious from the Appetizers to the Desserts. Our waiter was awesome . Very funny guy . The restaurant was very busy for a Monday after the 4th Of July. You can not go wrong with Steve’s Piccola Bussola . To me it’s old school Italian. When you have a restaurant that has been there well over 25 years , And you have 2 others in Syosset , Hauppaugue. You must be doing something right 😊

I just left Steve Piccola but wanted to leave a review right away. We went there after my Mother's funeral with 50+ people and all I can say is I couldn't have been happier with the food and service. Fabio assures us that he would make it very nice and he delivered on his promise. The food was all delicious from the apps to the main course to the desert. The service was just as good as the food. Everyone there had a great time and left in a much better mood then when they walked in. Want to thank Fabio and everyone who served us today my family greatly appreciated all you did. !

My wife and I love this place. It's your neighborhood Italian restaurant. The wait staff is friendly. Food is good (and consistent). Prices are reasonable. We can get an appy, two entrees, carafe of wine and and dessert for less than $130 bucks. We have been here many times and never had a bad meal!

This was our first trip to this restaurant and while we were eating this delicious meal we were planning our next visit. If you love delectable traditional Italian food I strongly recommend that you visit this restaurant. Everything we ordered was really good and the service was five stars.

My sister and I recently hosted a funeral luncheon for my mother at Steve's Piccola Bussola. I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful food and service they provided. The package they offer includes everything; appetizers, pasta, salad, entree, dessert, coffee, cappucino, wine, beer and soda. No other restaurant offers all of this without additional charges. The food was phenomenal and the tiramisu cake was the best I ever tasted. The service was outstanding. Finally, they accomodated my request for valet service on a Monday afternoon and he did a great job getting the cars moved quickly to avoid a back up on Old Country Rd. We highly recommend them for in house catering.

A few weeks ago, my family and I traveled here. You should visit this Italian eatery if you're in the area. We ultimately decided to order the chicken (honey garlic flavor), chicken parmesan, clams, fried calamari, penne alla vodka, and Caesar salad. The food was delicious.

I came here for something local while I’m on a work trip. I searched google for “best Italian near me” and this was on the list. The food was so so so good. We don’t have good Itlaian food in the Deep South like this so it was 10/ 10 for me. Fried calamari, Caesar salad, fresh bread, wine, veal parmigiana. All so good. I ate until I couldn’t move. Fransisco took great care of me.

Five stars for food and zero stars for parking. We had a great family-style meal. Afterwards we waited in the subzero cold for our car...and waited...and waited. We finally begged for our keys and walked to our car and removed it ourselves. Never again will we valet here.

One of the great Italian restaurants of Long Island. This place has a great bar and waiting staff. They know how to treat a customer. The food here is delicious. I recommend a few dishes the Chicken Campagnola is amazing. The chicken is cooked perfectly and the exterior texture is crisp and singed just right, the sausage also complements the dish very well. One of their best specialties is the Veal, Chicken and shrimp francese. This dish gives you a bit of everything and all of it combined is superior to any of those dishes as a stand-alone dish. As for pasta, you have to go with their baked rigatoni alla vodka. It's probably their best pasta and thats really saying something. It may not be on the menu so you have to order it ala carte but its worth it. Overall a great spot. It's worth making a 10 mile drive to dine there.

Food was delicious. Had to take off one star because the waiter billed me incorrectly. Charged me family portion for my plates instead of single portion, but I caught it. Check your bill! I also had to ask for the wine, because he forgot. Will go back, but will get a different waiter.

Went there with a large group after a funeral. Everything served (I think we covered most of their menu) was delicious and cooked well. Prices are a bit on the high side for the area but that's not why I took a star off. Their drink prices are way too expensive. For example a simple vodka soda was $11. Bud light was $8 That's NYC prices. But overall very good service and I would return.

Having tried Vincent's Clam Bar a handful of times, I wanted to give Steve's Piccola a try. So I ordered a Caesar Salad, Chicken Parm for one, and an order of Linguini w/Marinara. The Chicken Parm was very good - the meat, the sauce and the cheese. The Linguini was also very good although not cooked al dente. The Caesar Salad could have used a little more dressing but was also pretty good. The service was very attentive with water being refilled almost continuously and there was a nice fresh bread basket served as soon as we sat down. I would say that overall the meal was enjoyable and on par with Vincent's in terms of quality. However, the prices are higher ... and the portion sizes are smaller ... putting it a little lower on the value scale. The other thing is there is valet parking with a relatively small lot. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. But be prepared to spend a few more bucks.

Ordered the larger size pasta with seafood and individual size veal pizzaola. The seafood entree featured shrimp, calamari, clams and was enough for two people. The veal dish featured only two veal pieces and was not a great value for money. Overall, the food quality was very good and both entrees were enjoyable.

The food was absolutely incredible, and we enjoyed every appetizer we ordered. However, we didn’t realize that each of our main dishes would be served in large family-style portions, which led to way more food than expected and a hefty bill. It would have been helpful if the staff had flagged this when we ordered, especially since we were a group of seven and had already ordered six or seven shared appetizers. Service was okay, but I’d definitely return—it left a bad taste in my mouth that they did that to us.

The food was ok, the food came out piping hot so that a big plus. The service was a bit lacking I had to ask for water three times. We did go around dinner time on a Sunday so it being busy was part of that reason. What I didn't like was having to pay to take my food home. They charged 7 bucks to take the three left over dishes home. I've never been charge a fee for that and I think the prices are too high if you have to charge to take your own food home.

Ordered a lot of food today and a generous tip was given; very disappointed - the calamari seems like it was somebody else's left over - soggy and tasteless; you also cannot assume a dish comes with pasta i.e. chicken parm-pasta is al a carte. the penne and the chicken parm were good.

Service was very good. However I found the food pricey even for these times where going out to eat is expensive. Also while everything was prepared nicely, but just not as good as I have had here in the past. Portions are very generous which is always a plus.

They have 4 1/2 stars and 2 $. The food was very good but the prices are definitely not 2$. We were all taken back when the bill came. These waiters must work on commission . We ordered the penne vodka, asked if they could add some chicken to it waiter said no problem, not telling us the price would literally double. My wife ordered the appetizer octopus, got the bill the price was double, waiter said he didn't think the appetizer size was enough for her so he changed it to a meal without asking once again we were charged double. My mom wasn't sure whether to go chicken or eggplant the waiter said I can do half and half so she was happy but he failed to say he ment a full meal of each, once again the price was double. My niece just wanted spaghetti with oil once again the waiter was very accommodating but when we saw the bill, $16 for spaghetti. When we questioned the bill at the end the response was , yes that's the price. So, to anyone who reads this. The food is good but BEWARE of the over accommodating waiter and his surprise for you at the end. Oh, and don't let me forget to say how uncomfortable it is when the waiter stands right next to you so you can't get up so that he can count out his tip to make sure you gave him enough.

Food is pretty decent, a little bit on the greasier side, but as expected from an Italian family-style joint. Portions are very large, even when ordering a "single" version of it. I would opt for more Italian dishes, anything pasta-related, instead of going for meats and fish. But what really brings down the rating are the obnoxious waiters. Every dish they would recommend as "the best" is somehow the most expensive on the menu. When we got the bill, there were items on it that we did not order and did not receive. When I pointed that out to the waiter, the response was "Oh, I wonder how it got in there". Well, buddy, you put it in there.

My husband and I ate here last night for the first time. I ordered veal parmagia and asked for pasta on the side. The food was good but the service could have been better. Our surprise see came when we got the bill. We were charged $22 for the veal parmagia and the side.of pasta was $19.00. in all the years of eating out I have never heard of serving this dish without a side. The pasta was a side portion and they had the nerve of charging $19.00. That is really taking advantage. You won't be seeing us again.

Went on Saturday night with my friend for her birthday. Not impressed at all. She had Chicken Marsala. It was like soup. It was plated very sloppy. Nothing is served with entree. Tiramisu was not that great. This was our first and last time. Teroros has this place beat along with 7th. St Cafe. You get more for the money. Sorry.

Went today with my friend for the first time and I must say given the location and the price point of this restaurant one would imagine the service will be above par. Sorry but the service had been quite disappointing. We were not attended to after we sat down. Waited for someone to come and give us a menu and also ask us if we wanted a drink. Nothing at all. I had to eventually ask someone if they can attend to us but meanwhile everyone else around us getting impeccable service. Definitely won’t go back. Felt humiliated

Went with my family this weekend and was totally disappointed. Based on the reviews we thought it was going to be an authentic old school Italian experience. I would say the experience was, wait staff was friendly, professional and on it which is reason for 2 stars. Unfortunately the food was just meh at best and gross at worst. Calamari starter was bland fried well but flavorless. Entrees were even worse. Linguine with clams had 0 taste which is impossible because, clams! We asked for Carbonara which was not on the menu but kitchen was able to make and it arrived at the table looking like it was made it dirty water. Taste was ok but the appearance was so off putting it was gross.

I saw the great reviews and I thought why not come try it. 6 of us came here and honestly I don’t know what the hype is about…the food was decent at best, very oily. The service was horrible. Our waiter insisted on not writing our orders down and that he has a “good memory” he forgot several drinks and also forgot to mention they were out of a particular side which we were all waiting for….. not once did someone come and re fill our water glasses and ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Came here for a birthday dinner as it was the person’s request. Service: There are good points and bad points. The good: the wait staff seems to be around quite often to refill glasses, make sure you have drinks, take away plates, and clean up. The bad: Our waiter must have had a bad night or moment. We ordered a Cab, not a Merlot, and a bottle of Merlot came out. Even the waiter called it a Cab. And they even charged us for a Cab after telling the waiter what was served to us. Wasn’t fixed. As the food came out, he kept saying the wrong dish as it was being put in the table. Okay, it happens. But I’m pretty sure stuffed mushrooms is not the Tomato and Mozzarella app. Food was so/so. Okay, the main food was so so. The dessert had to be the best part. I know tomatoes are not in season during the winter, but they had zero flavor and just sat there. The lettuce and other produce in the chopped salad seemed “sad.” The saddest dish might have been the classic meatballs and spaghetti. One of the fellow diners said the pasta was literally “al dente” as it had a slight crunch. Then the meatballs seemed to have very little flavor or taste to them. Coming from an Italian family, that’s kind of a disappointment. What was delicious: the stuffed mushrooms, the chicken parm, and the shrimp scampi. Dessert was the saving grace of the night. The chocolate mousse cake was light and sweet. the cannoli was a large portion, enough for two or three, and was fresh. And the tiramisu was also great. Every restaurant has its good and its bad. This is not the best, but it’s not the worse out there. A middle of the road kind of Italian, family style service restaurant.

I went to this restaurant yesterday with my family. I fell outside the restaurant but no one ran out to see if I was ok but when I left the waiter ran out to my car asking if we left a tip which we did. I thought that was really terrible. I will never go back there Again. I am also thinking about taking legal action against the restaurant.

So Disappointing!!! We ordered take out for my husbands birthday and the clams were delicious... but the bread was absolutely inedible! Sorry, but we like to dip our bread in the clams juice...which is why we order it, and this bread was doughy and down right disgusting! I find it hard to believe that they serve the same bread in the restaurant, because customers would leave!! Call Cardinali for a bread delivery so you understand what bread to serve your customers!! My disabled husband booked my 60th birthday party in Syosset location for 10/22, Our family has been eating in all the locations for 25 years. Upon booking & leaving deposit with Steve, we were beyond rudely treated, dismissive, & basically couldn’t be bothered helping us, as we asked questions on packeges, family style & picking dishes. He took deposit & said just show up & pick food when your here that night. Now we know that’s not how it works because we have had many parties here. I had spoken with Rocco a week prior, and Rocco that morning to confirm 6:00 appt, I asked for him when we arrived but Steve said he would do it, I told him who we were & our family as he answered obnoxiously saying he has no clue who we are after 25 years. Saying “ I know a lot of people”….Yesterday there was a meeting with Steve, Joe, & Rocco that did not go well, today we were told we are no longer welcome & our party has been cancelled, no $250 PLUS SURCHARGE deposit returned when I asked. These people treated a disabled man who could barely walk who struggled to even travel the hour, let alone get in the door with his assisted walking device, & just wanted to be treated with respect, and do something nice for his family. This place has changed & treating the disabled is despicable beyond comprehension and you ALL should be ashamed of yourself! I will make sure everyone knows what kinda people you really are.

SAD. That's the best way to discribe the meal. We picked up a take out order and paid extra for "full trays". The portions were so small they wouldn't feed a group of small children. The salad that looked like it was made yesterday and bread was like cardboard and thrown in the garbage. i remember when this was a quality restaraunt. It's SAD to see how bad it's become. I haven’t been to this restaurant in many years being I moved out of Nassau county. The last time my family dined there the food was good. Today Mother’s Day 2024 i ordered to go because my mother is unable to do restaurants any longer. To say the food was thrown together is an understatement. I ordered shrimp parmigiana (simple) and tortellini Alfredo (simple)with Ceasar salad on the side. Coming from a food service background I know what to expect as far as Italian cuisine. Over cooked shrimp (chewy) with burnt cheese on top and bland tortellini. And bland is also an understatement as far as tortellini Alfredo is concerned. The Ceasar salad was just lettuce and croutons. No grated cheese with the dressing on the side. To say I’m disappointed again is an understatement. To pay $112 dollars for2 dinners to go is an embarrassment. As far as the quality of food that was served. And an embarrassment to Italian restaurants everywhere. I live in Eastern Suffolk county and the Italian restaurant close to my house ( and it was just a pizza restaurant originally) is killing this place ten fold. Next time I’ll just order from the pizza restaurant down block from my house and pay half of what I paid at this restaurant. And be happy. Look at your chefs to the management of Steve’s in westbury ny !!

Meh. Service was ok. Food is OVERPRICED. Everything is ala carte --- order a main dish, and if you want a side of pasta, expect to pay extra $$$ for a full, meal sized serving. Very easy to find quality Italian food at reasonable prices all over Long Island. I won't be back.

Ate here for years and loved it before taking a good 6 year break and trying other restaurants. Decided to go back for the last 2 family dinners and I can say something is just not right anymore. Maybe they changed cooks or kitchen staff, or something. I noticed the owner isn't at the location anymore either. I'm sure that doesn't help. Even a few of the waitstaff said they have gotten a lot of complaints lately about the food. We will not be going back there are far too many great Italian restaurants around to waste time here.

Just ordered pick up from here for my dads birthday. Paid $160 and portions are disgraceful. Could barely feed the family of 6 people. Chicken parm cost $38 for a full tray and they gave us only 2 pieces FOR $38?! Salad was bland, bread was stale. Full tray of pasta which barely covered the bottom of the tray. Will not be going back or ever ordering from again.

Terrible experience , don’t go. This place is disorganized and chaotic. The manager Fabio ensured he would take care of my parents and basically flat out lied. He talked over me when I tried to express my concerns . Not professional at all!

I have been there so many times..unfortunately last Saturday night I was there and it was awful..it started with the waiter telling me I could only order from the menu..usually I can order paparedelle Primavera..they said no...thats when I knew it would all go downhill..then we had the calamari..completely rubbery..then the chicken francese which literally tasted like the wine was poured on it rather than cooked..it took the one person in recovery we were with to be like I cant eat this..very upsetting since it was my birthday...my husband told the manager? Not sure who he was after the dinner and we just got sn apology..sooo disappointed and upset
