Opinions de Sumran Thai Cuisine Westminster
Outstanding food. This is the type of place that does not have just good Thai food... their food is good by any standard or ethnic description. I had not had Thai food in about 4 years, so I thought I would give this place a chance, and this is the best food that I’ve had in a while. It wasn’t just the food either, the wait staff was awesome as well. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. I will definitely be making plans to come back here.
Excellent! I will definitely come here again. I have always passed by this place but never came in! We came here this weekend with my mom and I have fell in love. The Yellow Curry is to die for and also the Thai tea is excellent, not too sweet. Great service and good vibes, definitely recommend to others in the area!!
We've been coming for years and have always loved it. They have now added sushi and sake and we love it even more. The quality of all the food is delicious!
Authentic Thai food! The best thai food in town and the owner is also nice. They see to it that their customers are satisfied. They have a new lady Serving but she is not friendly and rather rude to customers because of how she treats her customers.
Wonder and friendly service. Our chicken satay and yellow curry were both delicious. We also enjoyed our cream cheese wontons. Good october happy hour pricing. Clean and well thought out decor. Cute seasonal halloween decorations.
Ordered by phone and they were super helpful w questions about the menu. I’m a paraplegic and they gladly brought the food out to my car so I didn’t have to put my chair together. Very nice people! The food was DELICIOUS! I was very impressed! The pad thai was flavorful and moist - some of the best I’ve had in a long while. The yellow curry was SO good and the chicken fried rice was packed w chicken and veggies. All the food had a fresh taste to it - quality ingredients and spices. Oh and the price was reasonable! Lower cost than others - good portions and better tasting and quality. I highly recommend this restaurant!
While searching for a place that could satisfy my craving for spicy basil fried rice, a dish I had fallen in love with at another Thai restaurant, I found that Sumran Thai Cuisine had exactly what I was looking for - the Spicy Fried Rice, complete with basil, onion, bell pepper, chili, and a choice of protein. I couldn't wait to give it a try. I placed my to-go order on their website, and the order was ready within 15 minutes. Upon taking my first bite, I was immediately captivated by the explosion of flavors in this dish. The combination of aromatic basil, crunchy onion, and the perfect amount of spice was truly a delight for my taste buds. As someone with a lower tolerance for spiciness, I appreciated that the heat level was just right, providing a satisfying kick without overwhelming my palate. I would definitely come back for their Spicy Fried Rice!
If you look at it from the outside you might not look twice, the sign for the strip only says Thai food. Do yourself a favor and go inside, ample seating looks great and the food is delicious with many dishes to choose from. Thai food is special it’s flavorful with many different spices and levels depending on the dish , the special part is you will be full and not feel horrid afterwards. All the dishes are lite and flavorful with your choice of protein and there’s vegan options as well. This is my third time here(I’m an out of towner) and it hasn’t disappointed me yet.
This is one of my favorite Thai places I've come across so far around here. Closest to authentic Thai food. The yellowtail collar was perfectly cooked, pad Thai was tasty but the showstopper was Ka Na Moo Grob. That was amazing, I poured some of it into the pad Thai and this is the only way I'm going to be eating it for a while 😅 definitely want to try their curries and the mango sticky rice next time I go. Inside was roomy and beautifully decorated. Can't recommend this place enough!
Pad Thai 4.5/5 (only because it wasn’t spicy). Wonton soup 5/5. Drunken noodles medium spice 4.7/5( didn’t care for the lettuce). Mango Mojito 5/5. Sake bomb 5/5
This place is amazing! It is always my go to spot for thai food. The pad thai is the BEST! I always try different thai food places but I always come back to this one. They have amazing service and will extreme meet all of your standards. Junior is always our server and takes care of us with delight. We love it here! Definitely 10/10 recommend. I always bring my friend from out of town here and they end up loving it. I also recommend the fried rice and the calamari. Please come here!
Best Thai food in Westminster , hands down , super friendly , always fresh food , great atmosphere (:
Been there many times and the food with their service has always been great!💕👌🏻
Very friendly and attentive service. The food was great and the Halloween decorations show the thoughtfulness of your experience. When we were leaving (right before mid day closing) the entire staff working all sat down to have a meal together. Great place, we will definitely be back to support this business! Thanks Sumran!
Went on a night drive and wanted to stop by the beach with something to eat. Sumran looked closed with all the dim lights and empty parking, but surely it was open. Upon entering, I was greeted with a welcoming environment and lovely service. I ordered a chicken pad thai and waited about 6-10 minutes for it to be ready. It was the size of your typical rectangular black plastic container from Costco and will fill you up. Along with the pad thai, a fork, napkins, and this amazing sour and slightly spicy (very mild) sauce that paired wonderfully with the pad thai. The only thing I would suggest is to ask for another of the sauce because one wasn't enough for the whole container. TL;DR Welcoming service! Pad thai is amazing, recommend getting 2 sauces.
We ordered Pad Thai, Pad Med Mamuang (Cashew Nut with Beef), and Thai Iced Tea — everything was delicious. The noodles weren’t overcooked, and the seasoning was well balanced. The interior has a nice atmosphere too. Overall, highly recommended!
Frequent customer of this place. I always feel welcomed every time I’m here. They just opened a sushi bar so I want to post a review with some pictures! I think the sushi is worth it for the price. I got the baked lobster and salmon sushi rolls. My favorite food that I get every time are pad Thai chicken and pad woon sen beef. The prices have increased a couple of dollars since 2023 but the food quality has not gone down at all!
Absolutely recommend eating here. All of the food I’ve tried is truly incredible, and all other Thai restaurants pale in comparison. The Crying Tiger Steak is a particular wonderful dish that I’d highly recommend, the dipping sauce is out of this world. The Naked Shrimp is so good. The Shrimp fried rice is amazing, get it with a level of spice added and you’ll be in heaven. Basically all the food here is amazing and 100/10 do recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
Friendly and helpful service, an expansive menu selection, satisfactory wait time, absolutely delicious Sumran special sushi rolls + pad thai, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend- with the flavours tasting authentic and rich. The lunch special package were also really thoughtful; with salad, sauces, miso soup, sushi and utensils all neatly packed and sealed.
I enjoyed the appetizer fish cake here. The bowl of shrimp Tom yum was great with 4 plump shrimp. My pad see ew with beef was very flavorful! My partner got a spicy crispy pork dish with rice. I did not enjoy the skewerless beef satay, flavor was good but meat was a bit tough. I’d pass or get chicken next time.
We have been coming here for lunch for years, and seen transitions from menu items to decor. The latest transition added sushi. It did not disappoint- well presented tasty lunch special, and always enjoy the pad thai!
Everything was excellent! Taste is spot on! Also the only place that the panang curry can be made non spicy! Service was great also. Only thing is that the portions aren't big.
Recently dropped by for some Thai food. Highly recommend the Pad See Ew and the fresh rolls. Everything came out quickly. They recently added a sushi bar, so we tried two of the specialty rolls (Sumran Roll and Westminster Roll), which we highly recommend.
Got the "Sea Sumran Special" $19.95 + Jasmine rice $2.50. It was delicious. The portion size is ok, but the quality of the claypot, steamed seafood with accompanying sauce was delectable. Looking forward to coming back for their "Bomb Shells" (which the server described as stir-fry with a bit of curry) and other dishes. The staff all seemed great and I'm pretty sure I heard them speaking Thai.
12pm on a Sunday (8/13/2017) and we are THE ONLY PATRONS HERE!! Its nice with a/c and a clean w minimalist deco. If the menu seems like you might like it but need a visual, ask for their picture menu. There is a tiny in yellow description on each photo. We ordered cream cheese wonton, on special Pad thai- beef and pad sew ew- beef Thai iced tea Coca cola Flavor is amazing, food was quick and the server kind amd attentive. It is a bit odd to sit in silence. Like odd. You can hear music and a kids cartoon coming from the kitchen. Mid convo with my husband I jumped from the sound of a slamming pot/door. music in the dining area wouldnt hurt, at least to blend with the kitchen sounds a little. (I 'kitchen' the same way, with effective placements aka slamming ;) music helps)
Definitely the best pad Thai I’ve ever had! Their spare ribs was really good along with the beef salad as well!

Stop !! this cute little banquet, thai restaurant full of bold flavors, made to order, fresh, hot, we just keep coming back try different dishes and we're never disappointed!! Bring your family, friends.
Very nice Thai place with quality food. You can tell that the chef takes pride in their dishes using quality ingredients and presenting the dishes in a visually appealing and professional manner. It's always a crap shoot with Thai places and this is one of the better ones. Would come again!

A little pricey for the quantity...but some really good flavors. We asked them to not use MSG in order to get the full flavors of natural ingredients. We had the Picky Sampler, green curry with chicken, and Po Tack (seafood soup). Everything was very tasty...perhaps a little too much salt, but yummy.
Food was amazing! They mixed up my order with the table next to me and level of spices were not correct but other than that, I could come back. The mango green tea is yummy!
Always friendly, I highly recommend beef/chicken pad thai & thai fried rice, other option I would recommend other than those? Their pad see ew I guess. Or Maybe appetizer? Cream cheese wonton. But I don't like their drunken noodles. Since I am a really picky eater, this is just my personal opinion
Have had Thai food at many places in the greater LA/Orange County region and I've had some good and bad. This place by far has the best tasting Thai food I've had in the US. Love my food spicy and upon request it was delivered. The food is fresh and very tasty. Glad my wife found this place. 9/23/17 The above statement was when I was impressed with this place. Since then I've been there numerous times with my wife. There's been more misses than hits, so I've downgraded their rating mainly for their food quality. 4/18/18 Been there a few more times and their quality has improved.
Ambience is beautiful! It’s dimly lit with warm lighting. Thai tea was perfect and the tea was strong! We ordered the Pad See Ew and Spicy Fried Rice. Both dishes were $~20 each. I would give each dish 4 star.
There are so many Vietnamese restaurants lined up along Westminster Blvd, but I picked this one since it had a good rating and was close to where I needed to be. From the name, you can tell it’s a Thai–Japanese fusion spot. The place is pretty spacious, and they have a weekday lunch special for $13.95. Most regular dishes are around $13–$17, which is quite reasonable. My friends and I tried the Vietnamese spring rolls ($14.95), Pad Thai ($14.95), fried rice ($14.95), and Thai iced tea ($4), all the basic comfort picks. The male server didn’t ask who ordered what, just set everything on the table, which felt a bit casual but fine. Overall, the food was okay and I would say it’s more of an Asian flavor profile that seems to cater to Western taste buds. 📍Sumran Thai Cuisine 6482 Westminster Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683
My current favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Pretty good, got spicy and it was too spicy but I asked for it. Pad Thai, drunken noodles, fried rice, green curry, basil ground pork all were pretty good. Take our service was courteous.

This is a TAKEOUT ORDER review. It's expensive but still worth it because it's convenient, food is great, and portions are a decent size. Takeout portion size is probably less than dine in portions, based on the pics I saw. But still enough for you to be full. Food was ready in 30 minutes. I called at 5pm on Thursday. Online order & pickup is probably an easier way to do it. Hard to communicate on the phone. Hard to pronounce food items and she did not speak English fluently. She was very friendly, though. I was happy with most of my food. Delicious and not too oily. Good, strong flavors. 👍 BUT I was disappointed that the garlic pepper pork had barely any, only a tiny amount of sauce. BUT the pork was still delicious. Kinda sweet and crispy. But I'm sure more sauce would make it even better! Another disappointment was the spicy drunken noodles. It barely had any tomatoes or fresh basil. Just some very small pieces of both. I still liked it but wish there were more of both those things. Also, medium spicy level was too spicy for me. The SUMRAN TOM YUM GOONG (soup bowl) was an ok size and delicious. 4 big shrimp! But EXTREMELY SPICY. I like the strong tom yum flavor and strong LIME flavor. But too spicy and salty for me. Also, it has milk in it, which is kinda weird to me, but you barely taste it. If you're not sure, try low spicy level, because medium spicy was too intense for me. 🥵🔥 Well, everyone is different and what you would consider spicy is subjective. but for context, I have a low to medium tolerance for spicy food, usually. This is the kind of spicy that sometimes makes you cough like crazy. Also got Thai tea and fried bananas with ice cream. They were good. The Thai coffee is good but VERY bitter and strong. Kinda like Vietnamese coffee, a lot of caffeine.
1st time here today. Not bad, honestly had better thai boat. But this helped take off that 8 year old itch for thai boat noodles. There's not much rice dishes, more noodles and such.

To be honest, ive ordered from this thai restaurant a few times before and the food was always pretty good but im not sure what happened this time. The pad thai was so dry, the meat was very dry and chewy, it was so disappointing! The papaya salad was so small and they added like 2 shrimps and some tiny dry shrimps that tasted very old! So im not sure if ill order from here again :(
My first time here because of the positive Yelp reviews. Ordered the Tofu Pad Thai to go. I hate to say it, but it didn't have any taste and it was pretty greasy.. A positive was the young gentleman that helped me was very nice....

So having been to some run multiple times enjoying the food and the service. And this is not about the quality of their food at all because the food's delicious in terms of service though after eating here many many years and hopefully being recognized by employees which I wasn't which made me upset. It's kind of saddening. I came in from across the street to use the restroom. Obviously it's no public restroom but having been a customer for years I believe I feel they would make an exception or felt they would make an exception. They looked at me blank facely and said no restroom is for customers only and I don't think I've ever left a review like this but I don't believe I'll be coming back here
