My waiter was very nice and charismatic, he was probably the highlight of my visit (other than the food obviously) would definitely recommend this place if you're just passing thru town or have lived here forever and want to try a new restaurant. I have been 3 times and the staff is always friendly, the food is always so so so good. The beans are authentic which you don't get most places and the drinks are pretty good too. This is one of the very few Mexican restaurants that I will go to in Wichita.

Great place for Mexican food in Wichita Falls, strongly recommend the location in town rather than the one further North, wonderful site near a walking trail. Food was awesome and our server was incredibly attentive (I can't remember her name, unfortunately, but she works Monday nights)! I’ve never had a bad experience at El Tapatío. The service is always friendly and checks often to see if you need anything. The restaurant is clean, and the food is hot, fast, and tastes fresh. If you’re looking for good food and fast, I definitely recommend this place.

A newer TexMex place to dine at for Wichita Falls. My food selections have mostly been tasty. Their Fajita Quesadillas are wonderful; I find myself ordering them a lot!! Their salsa is another great reason to dine with El Tapatio; always fresh and very tastey. Their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is just OK. But their SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING. They rise to the top tier of TexMex restaurants here in the Falls!

I have eaten Fajitas in Houston, Mexico, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Oklahona this was bar- none the best I have ever had. The flour tortillas are tender, beans and rice spot on. Tea, chips and salsa wow! I also compliment my server he was awesome. I made sure to let the lady who checked me out how much I enjoyed my meal. I just wish I didn't live 6 hour away.

Great service and the food was pretty good. They bring chips and salsa to the table and the chips were great, not stale, and the salsa had a good amount of kick. My burrito plate was decent and there was a healthy portion.

So first off, I am from near Yuma, AZ (close to the border) and I have been all over California and parts of Texas. They market their restaurant as authentic Mexican food and it’s the absolute truth! I even commented to my waiter that the food and salsa tasted like how my family makes it and low and behold the owner is from the same city as my grandparents! They don’t need my stamp of approval but they definitely get mine. I had the tacos de lengua and al pastor which were excellent. The service was high quality, and attentive. They speak fluent English and Spanish so I thoroughly enjoyed getting to talk to them in our mother language! Ask them for their salsas picantes! And their aguas frescas (horchata, pina, tamarindo)! Seating for every occasion! Bar, small booth, big booth, big tables for big parties!

The Vegatable Fajita with cheese on top is good! And their Chips and Salsa A1. 11 Jul 24 Messed my order up and gave me rice and beans twice. I was supposed to get the vegetable fajita. They usually don't mess up like this. Please check your food before you leave y'all.

Went for my daughters 24th birthday. Party of 8 and they took excellent care of us. It one of our favorite restaurants to go to as a family in a big group. The food is always delicious and comes out in a timely manner. 5 stars 🤗

Update: Back for our 3rd time and once again it is delicious. The Spicy Guacamole is the BEST guac I have ever had. Service is great First time coming here and we are NOT disappointed. Food was good, we went for drinks. It was mid-day on memorial day it seemed a little understaffed but that's ok we made our way to the bar. The staff on duty was polite and professional they took excellent care of us. There was a rude customer that our waiter was more than respectful to that made some what of a scene. We just moved to a different table and enjoyed our meal. I like the spicy chiladas.

We normally eat at the location in Gainesville on Grand and so thought we would try here while visiting family. Food is not as good or portions as large. I had shrimp tacos and they had little to no seasoning. Food was so so. Need to take cooking lessons from the Gainesville location. They are much better.

Their tres leches is not right at all. It's a warmed up cheese cake. I would not recommend it at all. I had to ask my waitress if they gave me a cheese cake by mistake and they clarified that yes it is their tres leches I was served.

One of the best Tex-Mex places in Wichita Falls. They had quick service and their portions of food are worth the price. I would say the fajitas were a little tough and dry due to the beef being in long small pieces (still good flavor though).

Had dinner here tonight. Food was good, portions were definitely enough and atmosphere was nice. The tacos were very good and the camarones a la diabla were tasty (spicy but not excessively so). The drinks seemed watered down a little (Margherita and Pina Colata) which is why only 4 stars. Service was very good and quick, our party of 7 was seated, served, had dessert, and were on our way in just over an hour.

We rarely have bad dining experiences here. Service is usually attentive and friendly. Food never takes too long and is always tasty! Love asking for the extra salsa options, which are delicious. I had the fish fajitas, and it was great! Never too loud, and both locations are both clean and beautifully decorated. I didn't leave five stars because it took a while to get drink refills and my significant other orders pork instead of beef (not a big deal because it was still tasty), but the waiter was apologetic and was dealing with a large party.

Good experience. They use a white queso that's unique. All the ordered food was hot and great tasting. The chips and salsa were only average. Margarita tasted like it was out of a plastic premixed bottle. No complaints though. Will probably eat there again for lunch. Edit: pro-tip, ask for Efra. Never had a bad experience with him. Not one. Great memory, checks on your food, fast, quick on the refills, checks on you often. Tip the man well!

We dined in the food was good! It always is and our waiter was very personable however I asked twice for some lemons that I never did receive, they didn't ever check on our kids drink refills even with us sitting the empty glasses with lids off at edge of table finally we had to flag waiter down to get refills and one order had cheese which we had asked not to have added. Service not good. With that said when asked when paying out how was everything, I was honest and told them they were very apologetic and gave a discount. Mabe it was just an off day everyone has one from time to time we usually have no problem there.

Food is always incredible. The people who work there are kind and great workers. However wait time for Togo Oder was 30+ minutes after I was told it would be ready. I saw families come in sit and eat while I was waiting. Place is too busy for the small location so we no longer like to eat inside. Now, we will no longer be ordering Togo. The service was fantastic, my cup was never empty food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere was exactly what I'd expect for a Mexican restaurant. We got exactly what we ordered the way we ordered. That said the food was very bland. The chimichanga was also stupid. Plain tortilla, steak pieces and NOTHING else inside, with a white cheese sauce on top. Looked good, disappointing when cut into. Chips and salsa were OK - chips just a little thicker than I like, but I still ate a basket full. Service was fine until toward the end, then the server kinda disappeared.

Traveling from Austin, while the carne asada street tacos were moist and flavorful, the salsa was bland, the refried beans super runny, and the rice soso. The waitress was wonderful!!! Five of us went and none of us could say we'd go back.

This place has potential. The waiter had a hard time with English which lead to the order coming out wrong. The chips and salsa were lacking to say the least. The decor is over the top and outdated. Needs to updated and scaled back on the Southwestern/Mexican colors. There's just too in you face. Since this place is in Texas, I expected Tex-Mex but instead got American-Mex instead. Just like every other Mexican restaurant East of Texas.

Everything came out soggy. The kids quesadilla was soaked in what looked like grease water, which made the whole thing slimy and inedible. I had crunchy tacos that also come out of the kitchen soggy. They were either plated too soon and left to sit or the meat they use is too wet. The shells were falling apart in my hands and there was a pool of liquid on my plate. The women's bathroom had standing water running underneath all of the stalls as well. Only redeeming thing was that our waiter was great.

Over all the food was not terrible it may need a little seasoning but over all good only issue I had was service only saw our server every 15 minutes he was nice just felt like we were forgotten.

The problem was we were over charged our total was $40.45 . they brought the receipt out for me to sign and I hurried up and signed and left the tip and total amount blanked because my baby was crying , (I left a cash tip) and a few days later I noticed on my bank statement that we were charged $47.45 So I called and they told me I had left a $7 tip on card guessing the waiter wrote on my receipt and tipped himself. I wonder how money people he stole from.

Went in with a large party. Service was very slow, he blamed cook. Cook also did an awful job on our plates. Very sloppy, flautas burnt and the waiter brought them out like that! Overall food quality is cheap. I will not be going here unless I absolutely have to attend a party but will eat taco casa beforehand.

I've door dashed many orders from this location. They screw up 1 out of 2 orders. It's never bad but you do not get what you ordered unless they feel like it. Several other options equally as good but gets your order right in town!

If you're into Tex-mex, then enjoy the ketchup they call salsa and red Chile. But it's definitely not authentic Mexican. The service however was excellent.

Place was fairly clean, however the food was bland as hell. Mexican food is usually pretty flavorful, but the meat that my family received was under seasoned, if it was at all chips and salsa chips . Family did have complaints of indigestion afterwards. Can't confidentiality recommend this location.

Extremely long story short. Go to the location on Central Freeway, they know how to treat people, charge them correctly and cook the food. Oh, and they have AC! First, the waiter was annoyed to have to serve us, he was rude, he never asked us for a refill on our drink and he was very slow! The food was terrible. The red sauce on my enchiladas was cold and the rice was disgusting. We were asked if we wanted some sopapillas, we said yes. Every Mexican restaurant we have been to have given us complementary sopapillas. However, when we received our check they charged us $17 for 4 sopapillas! We would have not gotten the sopapillas had we known they were going to be so expensive. Would rate 0 stars if I could, me and my husband went here about 7:45 pm on September 28th the server brought us our chips and salsa, while I was about halfway done with my salsa I notice a chunk of raw chicken in the bottom of the bowl, note: I am 27 weeks pregnant, and I am not trying to get salmonella/food poisoning, nor have my baby sick, will be filing a lawsuit. was extremely disappointed by the service and stressed out be the experience, not to mention the place has roaches EVERYWHERE and need to be inspected asap, we have already reported the incident and will not be coming back, this place needs to be shut down for sure

Omg no seasoning in anyyy meat. No Onions and cilantro on my tacos, store bought sauce and pico it’s too obvious.

After traveling 3 hours to visit family, we went to dinner here. We were first put at a very small table for our party size and then after we requested to be moved. We waited quite a while for our food, no big deal because we were talking and visiting, we got our food and my order was not placed. When I did receive my food, everyone else was done eating, except my daughter. Her food was not good at all. Mine wasn't either. We ordered the tamales. Definitely do not recommend it. My son ordered a coke, they kept giving him diet, even after we them to change it. The rest of us never got refills on our drinks. The restaurant looked nice but my sons original chair was broken and he had to change it out. We just did not enjoy our experience here at all.

This place sucked. The margaritas were nasty, the service was horrible, and the atmosphere reminds me of a worn down hospital. Akward, grungy and uncomfortable. The entree was good, but for the value, no. There was hardly any protein. I'd much rather give my business to Don Jose's. Great servers, drinks and food. I won't be making the mistake of coming back here again.

Ordered margaritas and they were terrible couldn't drink them so sent back for something else ordered food and it wasn't even heated through and wasn't prepared as the menu said. Won't recommend.

Here’s a real review: • Salsa like tomato soup • Frozen Margarita taste like a heavy dose of sweet n sour. How about lime instead… • the chips are 1 square inch and break into small pieces • my fajitas were cold. I thought they are supposed to be sizzling hot? • My friend ordered a quesadilla with a 24” long hair. • the waiter studied my ID for a solid minute and was making faces like he didn’t believe it was me. • Queso Blano with a water consistency Btw a good friend from Dallas recommended this place and this has honestly been the worst restaurants in Wichita Falls I have visited since moving here 2 months ago.

Went an had lunch with my friends the other day walked in and the place smelled like Pine-Sol... so we decided to go out on the patio. It was wet and looked dirty. The food was nothing to rave about. Bland.. not coming back..

Aweful experience. We booked months in advance for a graduation family event. The table was not ready at the 1pm booking time. They put something quick together in a bad location. Very noisy. Not all together. They brought us only 1 menu for 14 people. We had to wait 30min after being seated to get water and then order food. Food today was nothing special. I asked manager for more menus and she made excuses, saying they were out. Very poor service overall. I highly do not recommend this place. I came here in the past and it was ok. Not anymore. Very disappointing service, slow, not taking care of clients.

Been here numerous times NASTIEST food I've EVER TASTED came out wrong and COLD . Addressed situation took our plates back and brought out same plates with pepper on the rice we placed and brought back them with pepper still attached food cold and new cold enchiladas on the plate . 🤢 🤮 Will never eat here again !! Between this and their current last health inspection findings I 10 out of 10 DON'T RECOMMEND!!

Be sure to check your bill. Been there twice in 2026 both times there's an accidental charge. An extra $25 on both. Seems a little suspicious but not a coincidence.

Ordered the Pollo Rancheros here on 2/23/2026, 2 days later I am being hospitalized for salmonella poisoning, have not eaten anywhere else and definitely did not happen in my own home as I practice proper food safety. Seriously debating whether or not i want to take legal action as the side affects along with the salmonella poisoning are excruciatingly painful, and may cause even longer effects on myself.

We were served "greasy cheese enchiladas", absolutely grease soaked Casadillas, and 2 out of 3 orders were wrong not to mention ordered side dishes were never delivered, and they STILL CHARGED FOR FOOD THAT COULD NOT BE EATEN. Worst restaurant I've ever been in Maybe! Maybe the Sunday cook had a bad Saturday on 10/12/2025 ?????

We gave this place a try due to friends recommending it. At our first visit they ignored us then they saw us and walked away . Patiently we waited to make a to go order and a lady took our order. We wanted to give them another try only this time we sat down to wait for our order and I over heard couple of servers just standing around the booth giggling and making fun of 2 elderly lady's coming in the restaurant. That was so disrespectful and unprofessional, little did they know I understood everything they were saying in Spanish. We recently ordered by phone ,When I got home I pulled out a long plastic wrapper in my chicken ! I'm so glad I cut the enchiladas since the chicken was tough to chew . The manager looked like he didn't care he apologized but it wasn't sincere or worry of concern .We are Never coming back here.
