El Burro Taco Shop

Been there twice now and it’s a great taco shop; reading the reviews and I don’t see why some are so negative; didn’t experience none of that. Service is great, food is amazing and the red salsa is a hit also. Y’all are doing amazing and I pray more ppl come to your business; they need one on cal oaks.

We just stopped in for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service that I received from Evelyn at the register. Honestly she made our afternoon the food was delicious overall extremely impressed with the quality and service that we received

Absolutely great! So excited to have a high quality taco shop in the neighborhood. The regular tacos are enormous and exquisite. I've had the chicken and the marinated pork (carnitas)so far. So pleased!

Honestly I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to new taco shops in this area, but I was incredibly impressed at the service, atmosphere, and food selection and quality. I ordered food to-go, and got my order in a few minutes. The carne asada was exactly as their menu described - tender. I’ll definitely be returning here in the future.

Went in for the first time last night and it just so happens to be near closing time. They were nice enough to still take my order and prepare everything very well. The food was delicious and I will definitely be coming back

I came in not expecting to find healthy options and left pleasantly surprised. I ordered a chicken salad with Chipotle ranch on the side. The chicken was seasoned well and the portion was a good size. The server was also very nice and absolutely accommodating to my request. She told me that they don't get a lot of salad orders but they would put whatever I want in the salad. I told her I like things simple. The Chipotle went well with the salad and I was very happy to eat a tasty and healthy meal. I'm going back to check out the rest of their menu.

That burrito? Absolute *chef's kiss*. Perfectly wrapped, every bite was a flavor party. And the sauce? It was the real MVP, tying everything together with a spicy, tangy hug. Seriously, don't sleep on it!

We've came in here a couple months ago just to get the family meal. But recently we went in and made an order to go. Let me to you..... I didn't get her name that works at the counter.... Got a big breakfast burrito with carne asada. Was the best I've had in a while, meat was very soft and delicious. My hubby got a breakfast burrito also but with bacon ham etc 🔥 bomb as well. We went at like 845am and it was super delicious will be back again. However we somehow got pizza sauce Instead of red salsa. But we also had green salsa so it wasn't that big of a deal

Been here a few times. Portion sizes are large so great if you're hungry. Flavor for the most point is right on. Staff has been constantly good as well. Sometimes some of the meats can be a bit more dry than others but will still have a good taste.

Carne Asada nachos were pretty good, Cali Surf n Turf Burrito was def fire, rolled tacos were def fire, but the bean and cheese burrito was just okay. I always get a basic B&C when checking out a new Taco Shop to see if they get the easy stuff right too! Loved most the stuff we ordered, but beans are just okay tasting, similar to canned beans.

This is a very small place there were 18 waiting customers inside of it at one point plus employees. This place has a lot of TVs all of them were set to Spanish. The Restaurant looks clean. The Salsa bar is closed (due to COVID19) Since this was our first trip there I'm not sure what salsa they normally have available in the salsa bar. What I do know is the salsa we were given one type being red And the other green and watery both were terrible. Our first thought was after tasting it was if we wanted Tabasco sauce we have it in the cupboard. It's just hot with no actual flavor. And they are very stingy with it and I'm not sure why, we tasted it and threw it away. If we were to go back to this taco shop we will not be getting salsa from them again. The food was good the beans were tasty, the rice has vegetables in it, the Carnitas were good (make sure you check your bag! Shorted us tortillas we had to ask for them) the Enchiladas were tasty the red sauce that they use on them was very good. Overall this is someplace we might try again however we I do enjoy the whole experience when we have Mexican food we want chips and salsa and their salsa is not edible to us. So I'm not sure this is a place we would return to.

Consistently has gone down. I had gone here around 5 times prior and the past 3 times I've gone the tortilla chips were greasy as hell, meaning either someone doesn't know when the chips are ready to take out or someone doesn't know what temp to set the fryer at. Extremely disappointing considering every other taco shop can cook tortilla chips no problemo.

The food is horrible. We ordered the carne asada nachos and the surf and turf nachos. Both dishes were entirely too salty. Couldn’t eat the shrimp at all. There was enough salt on it to send someone to the hospital. It’s was as if someone dropped a container of salt on the food. Even the cheese was salty. The spicy salsa is not spicy. Waste of money. East at your own risk!

We have tried this place a couple times now and service and quality has declined each time. The person at the counter had horrible attitude and said she needed to charge for spicy carrots when they have always been free. The meat in both burritos was incredibly dry and flavorless. The entire bottom on the surf and turf burrito was sitting in a pool of oil. Sadly, we will not be returning as we can find better food and service elsewhere.

The shop had a foul odor. The chiliquilles were very basic, no salt and pepper offered with my eggs which are part of the dish. No avocado included unless I paid $2.50 extra. No chips or salsa provided.

I preordered this special they advertised, did Not have our order ready had to wait 30 minutes in line to be told another 30 minutes to prepare order. Not enough help, they were to busy confused with what comes in the package special. Did even give us a soda while we had to wait. They were very rude , tried to explain what happened when they should have just apologized, offer a discount or something, I was able to get a water cup.... Thank God never will try this place again rude, rude employees.

Eaten here a few times. Have gotten order wrong so I always check. Staff has mostly been ok but couple times not so friendly. Do like the the surf and turf. Tonight was the worst. Ordered the taco Tuesday 21.99 special. Asked for it by that name on phone. When I got there they tried to charge me 29.99. I told them they made a mistake and showed them the advertisement. they said sorry it only rings up at higher price there is nothing we can do about it. Asked asked for manager and servers name to call him tomorrow when he comes in. She laughed at me gave me the names. Then when I was sitting in car looking for another place to eat came out and smugly gave me a receipt with her name on it Lauryn was here name. I honestly didn't find the whole thing as funny and entertaining as she did. Avoid this place just not really customer experience orientated as you can see from all the poor reviews.

Decent food but horrible service. I spend $50 every couple weeks here for my family and there's always something wrong with the order. When I ask them to give us missing items or condiments that are supposed to be included in the order, it always seems like the end of the world. The employees have zero concept of customer service or a sense of urgency. I can understand making a mistake here or there but on a slow Sunday with zero customers in the store? Give me a break. Train your people better. Also what is the deal with the horrible stench in the building? It seriously reeks of raw sewage right in front when you walk in. Not really the most appetizing smell as you enter the building.

Went there for the first and last time. Rice and bean were cold, carnitas was like pork jerky. The place had very little light, soda machine was out of every diet product, overall cute place too bad it was not good.

I ordered online by mistake I put my house number wrong. When I called and asked that the application told me that they had not delivered my order, a woman answered me very rudely and said that she could not do anything because the order was already delivered the address that I put does not exist so they had to call me to ask, how they will deliver to an address that is not listed. I had to come to the place to see what I could do and the very rude cashier all the time turned her back on me, the only one who gave us any attention was the cook. He made our order again and the cashier had a terrible attitude, it is sad to see people who do not like their work I want to congratulate the cook, his name is Enrique, excellent attention, he solved our problem because not even the manager could do it. It is the first and the last purchase in this place.

CRUZ ASUL FRIES!!! NOT ON THE MENU First let's start by how they accepted the challenge. We than went into detail in making this monster of a creation. I haven't eaten for the past 26 hours, this right here HIT HOME!!! I was craving my original Cruz Azul Burrito but also really wanted Carne Asada Fries......this is both of them MIXED! The food is always delicious and the place is spotless clean. The staff is phenomenal and professional. Never been to another taco shop since these guys opened. (Matter of fact: I should just have a portion of my check deposited here due to the many times I ate here) This place and everyone there feel like family! Respectfully -Max Update: After new ownership or whatever the change is, this place is not what it used to be.....smaller portions, cost Way Way more and the seasoning for the meat definitely is skimmed now. A lot of changes to cut cost I bet but the quality of food even went down so sad 😞 ordered 2 carne asada fries and nachos and both were in small plates half of what they used to be, tastes nothing like what it was for double the price smh 😕

Went in on Taco Tuesday September 1st. Ordered 4 carne street Tacos and 4 pollo street taco. Got home and there were only two of each. called the number given on the website to discuss and the number did not go through. On top of it, the food was cold, and I live less than 2 minutes away. First time here. Very disappointed

The man at the desk “tsk’d” at us. They proceeded to have the dishes remade. When we were given the new bag of food he rudely said “Do you want to check it”. My husband said “should I have to?” Then looked at the top dish that had the carne asada on it. We left and wouldn’t you know…the other dish did not have any carne asada on it. Not only did we waste our money on food delivery we wasted our money on the carne asada. How does that happen? What do you even say? We gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time. Mistakes happen. The second seems blatant. We really like their food but I think we probably won’t be back due to the service.
