One of the best lamb shanks I have had. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Our party of six ate here last evening. We met from three different locations in Pennsylvania and Virginia. We wanted to go to something different, and we found it! I was disappointed that they were out of chicken Shawarma with the food was awesome that we had. Each of us got a different dish so we could taste each other’s food. Appetizers were great as well as baklava. Our waitress was from Turkey and she was quite knowledgeable about the menu choices and also a great waitress! Her name (I think?!) is Sue. I prefer a dining room that is not so dark, which is why I of four stars instead of there was nothing wrong with the decor, it is just not my style. I had chicken kebabs, and they were delicious. For some reason this site did not give me a choice of clicking on that. I am posting photos that I took, and the lighting was not the best but you can see how well the food is presented. This morning we were still talking about how great this restaurant is. We will definitely be back!
Dining here was a deliciously and pleasant surprise!! Can't wait to come back!
Excellent dining experience! Great fresh food, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic spot for friends and family alike!! Can't wait to return for a taste of other menu dishes. 😋 Server could have been a little more attentive, but it was a busy night.... seems like a lot of people enjoy this restaurant! 😉
Great local restaurant. The place is family owned and family run. Eating there is an experience and a pleasure. Highly recommended.
If I could give this place more than five stars I would! I took my friend who is visiting from Israel to this restaurant. The service was OUTSTANDING and the food was DELICIOUS!!! We couldn’t stop talking about how everything was full of flavor and the portions were excellent for the price! My friend even brought some back home so her boyfriend could try. We can’t wait for our next meal here and will be bringing more friends with us! If you want authentic cuisine you have to go here!
I have to say that this place is a treasure to be sought out. It is beautifully decorated, the food is fresh and outstanding, and the staff are all so sweet. My husband and I split the Manti dish and topped it off with an assortment of Turkish Delights! My husband also ordered Pomegranate Tea.
AMAZING! the food was delicious! The service was excellent! We are glad we found this place on our vacation! We will definitely be stopping by whenever we visit! Best hummus! Best baclava ever! My husband doesn't like baclava because it's too sweet but this one is just amazing!
This place is amazing. Little family restaurant in the heart of Newtown. Chicken shawarma is delicious! It’s a huge portion. We get it often for take out and have for several nights worth. My hubby won’t eat veggies so I trade him for some of the meat. I’m so happy I found this place just walking by. Had it 3 birthdays in a row. The staff is so friendly and we just love that the ingredients are always fresh.
Service was great and food was incredibly tasty. Highly recommend the lamb schawarma. The hummus and pita were also so good!
My review is based on my (many) purchases from the owner's booth at the Yorktown market. Not only were they super friendly and excited about their products, but we were able to taste many of their items and loved it all! We purchased quite a few items from them, but my favorite is the pistachio and chocolate baklava, and my mom's is the Manti!
Great server and excellent portions. I had a wonderful time and the food was amazing. In fact, I had to visit the next morning for their Turkish coffee!
Love love loved this place and would absolutely return. I went towards the end of the night and sat at the bar. The waitress was fantastic and made several excellent suggestions. The chicken shawarma was great and the chocolate baklava is heavenly.
Amazing food and great service. The dumplings were handmade and delicious. Excellent service. We enjoyed our lunch very much.
Excellent choice of delicious home-made Mediterranean dishes. My family tried the lamb shawarma, manti, kebab, and salmon and all of it was perfect. We ended the meal with perfectly brewed Turkish coffee and homemade baklava and the best lokum I’ve had. The waitstaff and owners were very responsive and hospitable. Looking forward to visiting again when we’re back in town!
The food was absolutely delicious! This is only my second experience with Turkish/Armenian cuisine. And judging by this experience it will NOT be my last. I can recommend the stuffed eggplant.
Delicious and authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a lovely setting. Owners are a local and very friendly, hard-working couple. We will be back soon!
One of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the people were beautiful. You must dine here. I will remember this place forever, and visit often. I am full - both my stomach and heart.
This was truly an authentic experience. Delicious food, good service. The manti and borek is perfect every time.
Wonderful Restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. Delicious authentic food. Service was excellent. I will definitely be returning whenever I am in town.
5 stars doesn’t do this place justice. This is the best food in Williamsburg. It serves some of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. The service is also fantastic. Get the babaganoush. Get the octopus. Get the stuffed anything. And get some wine — it’s all amazing.
My husband and I ate here for my birthday dinner last week. We'd both been wanting to try this place for ages. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the amazing food aroma. It smelled so delicious! We had mussels and zucchini pancakes to start and chicken shawarma and beef kabob for our entres. It was a lot of food for just the two of us, so we brought some home to enjoy the following day. The food was amazing and the owner who waited on us was super friendly and welcoming. We'll defininely be back!
Amazing food!! Well worth the price.. and the service and staff were very friendly. We will definitely eat there again!!
Remarkably delicious, authentic Mediterranean food. Family-owned, friendly, warm atmosphere.
The food is very tasty. Not much of a vegetarian selection, but their zucchini pancakes are delicious. Inside is cozy enough. I haven't sat outside, but they do have outside seating. The family that owns it is very personable. They make you feel like part of the family as soon as you sit down. They also sell the cutest and most fragrant candles. I suppose a friend of the family makes them. I'll definitely go back.
Food is amazing. I love the lamb shawarma here. The Turkish delight is by far the best I have had and seems to be very authentic. The flavor profiles of each piece are amazing. The staff is so very friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite places to eat in Williamsburg.
This was my first time at Anatolia's and it won't be my last. The food was superb and the service excellent. We felt at home and relaxed in their inviting atmosphere. They have a good menu with selections in all price ranges and ample servings.
Incredible food and such a unique experience in the heart of Williamsburg. Will definitely be back! The owners were so welcoming and made sure that each and every dish was perfect! I cannot recommend it enough.
Absolutely no notes. Highly recommend the grape leaves and lamb shawarma. The service and prices for the quality was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Service was wonderful and food was fantastic. We had a fabulous dinner and will return. One of our guests has celiac and a dairy allergy. Bee, the owner, understood and made adjustments to the menu to accommodate him - a special evening!
There is NOTHING I could say negative about this place. It’s small, cozy, and inviting. The staff was friendly and personable. Our waiter was perfect! The cook was on point, and fast. The food was amazing and we cannot wait to visit next time we’re in town! Thank you guys for being so receptive, even on Christmas night. 10/10, try this place
Tried for the first time tonight. A warm, friendly atmosphere, and simply delicious, perfectly-cooked food. The octopus was exceptional, served at the right amount of doneness. The mixed mezze plate had a well-balanced, tasty blend of flavors and a generous portion size . The evening's specialty was lamb shank and was simply excellent, with a subtle butter-lemon rice and fresh salad. A very worthy stop-in!
As many of the reviewers already noted, this is local and family run. We love it! So many food choices and very tasty and healthy. It is all reasonably priced too. You cannot go wrong. My husband and I recommend this 200%. We plan to return.
Oh my gosh, what a wonderful atmosphere in this authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Cozy surrounds, and quiet setting with much attention to their patrons. Several exceptionally flavorful dishes from the owner and chef. Cannot wait to return.
We loved going to Anatolia when we lived in Williamsburg and even though we’ve moved now, it’s always a delight coming back here. The food was so delicious today. Perfect blend of spices and herbs and so flavorful! Thanks and best wishes to Burcu and Sevan!
The food was amazing! The restaurant was extremely cozy with beautiful Turkish music. The family is extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband enjoyed the lamb chops and I had the Lamb Shawarma. Lezzetli, teşekkür!!!
It’s not everyday you see a restaurant representing Armenia. As an Armenian myself, I felt so at home with the food and atmosphere. The waiter was very kind, and we shared our family history with him. It’s refreshing to eat my culture’s food without having to actually make it beforehand! Amazing place ❤️💙🧡
The food is beyond comprehension and authenticity, and the family staff are some of the most kindest and beautiful people you will ever meet please do not pass this establishment up.
My partner and I dine out FREQUENTLY and we could not stop talking about how much we loved this food! We live three hours away and frequently drive through Williamsburg, but now we're determined everytime we travel that way to have a meal here. The food wasn't overly complicated, but delicious, hearty, and presented well. I thought the atmosphere was amazing! Unfortunately, because it's family owned and operated, there was only one server who I believe was the owner and she had a LOT of tables (suffering from success) so have a little patience and be sure to talk with the folks you're out with. It actually was nice, we didn't feel rushed, and the food came out at the perfect time. Either way, I absolutely recommend!
Anatolia is five-star everything, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, your heart and stomach happy. My wife and I honeymooned in Turkey and this authentic cuisine from a welcoming family brings back wonderful memories. Nearly every time we're in, we request an item that was a favorite in our travels - but is not on the menu - and they always whip it up with enthusiasm. Both traditional and innovative, this is one of the best dining options in Williamsburg.
This place has been on our list to try ever since we saw their booth at the Williamsburg farmers market and they did not disappoint! The lamb shank was maybe the most tender meat I’ve ever had in my life. Generous portions and perfectly seasoned veggies. Do not skip dessert! The house made Turkish delight lived up to its name and the Armenian coffee was the perfect accompaniment. A family run place with warm and welcoming vibes. We will definitely be back!
This restaurant is a hidden gem! The owners and staff are warm and welcoming. The food is fabulous! Fresh and just the right amount of seasoning, not salty like some restaurant food. The salad is light and fresh. I had the ground meat kabobs and have no complaints at all. The bar serves beer and wine, not liquor. That's not a complaint just an FYI. This place is worth the trip.
We took my mom here for lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive. My mom and I both ordered the Chef Sevan salad with Salmon. It is delicious and really fresh ingredients. My sister ordered the beef kabobs. We loved the food. There were only a few diners so it was very quiet. Highly recommend!
Delicious food, with friendly family hosts and an attractive decor. We went a few days after a big snowstorm, so there were few customers. They provided a warm atmosphere we appreciated. The food and wines were excellent and fairly priced. We plan to visit again when we're on town!
On a whim, my wife decided to try Armenian for her birthday. It was a terrific time. The hostess was very friendly and engaged with every table. Old friends were recognized by her and strangers (like us) brought into the restaurants warm embrace. The food was astounding. My wife's lamb shawarma was everything she could ask for. She finished the generous helping faster than I could eat my stuffed onions. I like onions as an enhancement to a dish so I was cautious about what I may have gotten into. This is now a favorite! The herbs and seasonings made this dish special. My wife and I tried to name all the flavors we could detect. There were so many we identified and some we are still trying to figure out. The list of available drinks allowed for the possibility of great pairings. Both of us were intrigued by the pomegranate tea and decided that was our additional new experience. Spot on! The color of the tea was readily visible with the clear tea cups. It was beautiful. The flavor partnered well with both dishes. We are going to make this tea at home now and hopefully we noted all the subtle spices it contained. Unfortunately, we needed to leave early to make a concert otherwise the chocolate baklava was going to be our target dessert. After the wonderful flavors of the entree, I can't wait to return and try the dessert!
More up-scale environment with great food. Prices are a little on the higher side but worth it. This would be a great date spot or fancier place with friends.
The service was quite poor, largely due to the fact that there was only one server handling the entire restaurant. Although she was very friendly, her attentiveness was lacking, which significantly impacted our dining experience. The food itself was good, but not exceptional, and definitely overpriced for the portion sizes. For just the two of us, we spent nearly $80 on an appetizer, waters, and two meals. This steep cost did not seem justified given the small portions and the overall quality of the food.
The outside seating in this establishment was lovely minus a few holes in the celling. The wait staff was friendly and patient. The food was just okay for the price. The wine list was above average but the beer list is a bit limited and the mixed drink list was almost nonexistent. Again it was okay but the wait staff made the visit acceptable.
Went here for a special occasion on 9/21/20 and I left feeling ripped off. My husband picked out this place due to a suggestion on Open Table. Place was empty when we arrived for our reservation, except for a table of three women who would NOT SHUT UP about not believing in Covid and talking about being anti-maskers. I know one survived cancer, where they go to church, about their kids, because they were SO loud. Onto the food. My husband ordered a glass of wine ($9) and an appetizer of cheese borek ($12.99) for us to share and our entrees. When a plate of 4 small, flavourless rolls came out as our appetizer, that set the tone for the whole meal. $12.99 for what we received, was very off-putting. I had a platter of manti in Athens, Greece and loved it. When I saw it was on the menu here, I had to order it for my entree. When it came out in a regular sized bowl, with no sides or anything, I was SHOCKED at how expensive it was - $24.99!!! It was also incredibly bland and no amount of salt that I added could save it. My husband had the lamb shwarma plate for $21.99 and frankly, again, these prices aren't justified for what he received. We finished it off with a dessert of baklava which were 3 1-inch squares for $8.99! While the service was fine, the food was bland and overpriced. The Qanonsense crazies squawking away at their table put me over the edge. I felt cheated out of celebrating my special occasion after this meal, especially because we flew all the way from Las Vegas, where we live, to celebrate.
Would have loved to try it, made a reservation on a Saturday night, we were 5 minutes late, 7:50, and they were closed, so I'm thinking they might not be so great if they close on a Saturday night before their posted closing time with a reservation.
