As a first timer I have to say this was a very romantic experience. They offer rose pedals and candles as an add on when reserving online. The food was flavorful and bite sized as expected. The fact that I get to cook for myself was different which is what I was going for. All in all I was pleased with the service, food quality, atmosphere, secluded dining and being able to add my personal touch. It was so good, we were having an existential crisis while eating it. Makes you appreciate everything you have in the world. Like if you come to Virginia, you HAVE to try this out. Come with an empty stomach and eat slow. They don't make you feel rushed at all and were very patient in explaining how things worked as a first-timer. Perfectly portioned and high quality bites. Strong alcohol flavors in the fondue and some of the drinks, so do ask more about it if you have an alcohol aversion. Wonderful, relaxing environment. Once a year type of deal, but DEFINITELY going out to eat there again. <3

Went here for my birthday dinner! The food was great. It was my first time ever eating here. My daughter said it was a great place to come because everyone has to interact and you actually talk to one another while waiting for your food to cook. The chocolate dessert fondue was absolutely mouthwatering! Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic time celebrating our wedding anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and the service amazing! Kaitlyn took great care of us. We look forward to next time!

We came last night for our anniversary, it was our first time coming here. From the time we set our reservation I knew it would be a special night! I called to ensure I had made our reservation correctly online and the gentleman who answered ensured he took care of getting me set-up. On the way there we got stuck in traffic making us late. I called and they changed my reservation time with no problem. Once we arrived, I was speechless. We had scheduled ourselves for the Thursdate and I couldn't believe how beautiful our table looked. Our waitress was Alissa (sp?) and she took our experience over the top! And it was a true experience! She had the most amazing presentation skills for every course. Her personality was so kind and she was extremely attentive. We didn't think things could get any better, and then she brought dessert. She brought us the cutest little plate with a Happy Anniversary message written on it along with 2 glasses of champagne. That was in addition to the tray of goodies to dip in the most amazing chocolate dip. We got the Flaming Turtle, it was incredible. This was an experience and night we'll never forget and we can't thank you all enough! #ThePrimeCouple

This was my wife’s and my 14th anniversary dinner in the first time that either of us had ever eaten at a fondue restaurant. From what I understand because it was New Year’s Eve they served a modified menu. The table was great - secluded and cozy; our server was amazing, extremely kind, and professional; in the food was mouthwatering good. This was also easily the most expensive dinner that either I or my wife had ever had in our entire lives. Normally from what I understand the cost is $30-$50 per meal less expensive than what we paid last night. Would I do it again? 100% Considering it took each of us about 40 years to try this type of restaurant for the first time, I might need to wait another 30 to 40 years before I can justify the expense, but I have zero regrets. The whole experience made the cost worth it.

My mom and I had the best experience here to celebrate our birthdays. The spinach and artichoke fondu was amazing and so was the milk chocolate at the end. The treat dippers that went with the chocolate were so good and varied (rice krispie treats, brownies, blondies, Belgian waffle pieces, pound cake pieces, marshmallows in oreo dust, and strawberries and bananas). We couldn't decide on what we liked more because it was all so good. Needless to say, we were stuffed when we left. Laurel, our server, was the best server my mom and I have ever had in a restaurant. She was so personable and attentive. She brought us separate birthday plates with desserts and cards to celebrate. It's all those little extra things she did that made our night extra special. This will definitely be our go to place for special occasions. Loved every minute of it.

Dinner was absolutely fantastic! I made a reservation which included some chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals sprinkled throughout the table, we feasted on their four cheese fondue first, salads were okay, and then enjoyed the tempura frying, everything was super delicious and our server made it a memorable time. We love the Meltong pot and will be coming back again. Expect to pay for the experience.... it was a pretty penny but the time and occasion were well worth it ♡

Absolutely delicious!! The duck in ginger plum sauce was absolute heaven. I hadn’t been here in about 12 years. Nothing had changed. Wonderful staff. Clean. Warm, clean bathroom. Christmas decorations. Lovely dinner.

Our most recent visit was my husband surprising me for my birthday dinner. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Everything was wonderful from beginning to end. We went with the four course, which began with our choice of salads, cheese fondue, two entrees, and finished with a delicious chocolate fondue. Even as they got busy towards the end of our meal our server was still attentive. She even surprised me with a beautifully decorated birthday plate. We're already looking forward to our next visit, which will be in the near future!

I loved the experience here! It our first time ever and I was not disappointed. It is expensive but worth it! It was a great date night for my husband and I. Amber was our waitress and she was sooo great! I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special date. My husband and I loved it, maybe me more than him :)

Wonderful experience - great food and service. Did 4 course meal for family of 5 - $400 after tip, but worth it for special occasion. Portions are plentiful but had to ask for second serving of vegetables for entree and really needed a second serving of sauces too. Best cocktail sauce I have had since dining at original Bookbinders in Philly over 20 years ago.

Michael was the most perfect server for the most perfect date night. My husband and I are recently married but with all of the craziness that comes with wedding planning and post wedding to do lists, it’s been awhile since we’ve had a date night, so tonight was MUCH needed. Michael was perfect from his introduction (with a napkin spin), to the explanations to first time guests at the melting pot, all the way to top tier joke telling. We felt like he was a part of our dining experience and could not have asked for anything better! Thank you for a great night with the best food!! The teriyaki steak was AMAZING (seriously - I would create my own entree and pick It 3 times)! A great once and awhile date night for a Friday night :)

Loved our waitress. Best Groupon experience yet. So worth it and a lovely date night. I wish more customers dressed up to go to such a nice place. We had fun. The cheese was delicious. The meats were cooked to our liking of course. Waitress was Barbara she knew her stuff! She was sweet and personable. I love taking my time with all the foods. Make a fun night of it and do not forget to reserve your table.

Lauren was the absolute best server I have ever had, coming from a fellow server, she made my night more special than I could’ve ever imagined. It was my 1 year anniversary and she brought us everything from an anniversary plate, to fresh roses. I will definitely be requesting her next time 100%

The Atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The setting arrangement was private and spacious. Regan was our waitress and she was also training someone ( please forgive me I forgot her name) they both were AWESOME 🤩 and it’s my Birthday. Customer service was spot, food was delicious. First time ever coming. Place is a bit expensive but it was well worth it! Not as an all the time out to eat but more of a romantic atmosphere! Staff was very friendly and there was way more to eat than expected! Husband and I will most definitely be going back!

This evening I visited this Melting Pot for the second time, the first night I managed to attend on a not so great night where the staff were short a few people and trying their hardest but struggled to keep up. Tonight I was shown what they are truly capable of! Out of the 6 Melting Pot restaurants I have been to, this has got to be the best! My server was Adam (sad to hear he is moving in a couple months) and I have never had such great service as he gave my wife and I. Always had a smile, genuinely wanted to make sure my wife and I had a fantastic dining experience, and just made the whole experience that much better. I am very tempted to make sure I get back there before he leaves. Ben may only be a Busboy, but he made sure as soon as we were done with a dish it was picked up and cleared from the table. He also was a great addition to the dining experience. Jason Shea has definitely turned this restaurant around and has a fantastic Manger, Tommy running it. If you have never been, I highly recommend it! it's a great romantic dinner, fun place to go with friends and enjoy conversation, and if you are a foodie like me, you can not go wrong with a four course dinner (best bang for your buck.) If you have been, this is definitely the top one so far, I am about the same distance from VA Beach and Newport News location and I will always choose the Newport News location every time!

This experience is different and a lot of fun. The protocol for ordering and the choices are a little confusing but our server was very patient in explaining the process. We were a party of 5 so 4 of us ordered the meal for 2 for $99. You are still able to make your own selection. The 5th person ordered the 4 courses individually. We start with a salad. Then a fruit and cheese fondue, then the main meal. I had the Pacific Rim which included shrimp, duck and steak and I upgraded to include the lobster. There is plenty of food and you will leave full. The chocolate fondue for dessert is a perfect way to end the meal. I recommend they provide an instructional video for first timers. It can be daunting to know how to order on your first visit. The staff was welcoming and professional and the food was great!

We had the best time celebrating a birthday at the Melting Pot in Newport News. Michael provided outstanding service, entertained our table with some 'Dad' jokes, and ended the evening with a small fireworks show. Thank you to Melting Pot and to Michael for this very enjoyable dining experience.

This place is my favorite 1 time a year special occasion place. It is quite expensive, and you do cook your own food. I love that this is so different from everything else! The food and the service were amazing as usual. That special chocolate fondue at the end is just over the top! It's that special place that I think of all year long!

We had an awesome experience here for our anniversary! Our server, Suong, was incredible! Attentive, kind, and very personable. They even surprised us with an anniversary plate with our dessert! We will definitely be back!

We did the 4-course meal. Our server took time to explain the menu to us. The food was fresh and we felt it was worth the money. Great for date night!

Can be pricey, but they have specials and events that makes it easier on the wallet (like happy hours). Service is always great, no complaints. You don't necessarily need a reservation for middle of week outings (sometimes we waited to be seated, but we still go seated), but I've seen people get turned away during busy nights without one (especially during Valentine's and Mother's Day). Speaking of their happy hour specials, it's a great price for a spontaneous date.

Reserved for a birthday and it exceeded expectations. The host was friendly and kind (even finding a missing item in the parking lot for us), the waitress was patient and very attentive, and the meal was fantastic. Would recommend.

This is all about the experience. Pricey for what you get but you leave full with the 4 course meal and a little leftovers. Recommend for special occasions.

Your time spent here can vary. If you plan to do a 4-course meal, expect to be there a minimum of two hours. For your entrees, it takes some time depending on which proteins you choose from. In my opinion, we spent a lot more time worrying about how long each skewer was in the pot, rather that having a conversation during the entree portion of the meal. With that being said, I wouldn't want to go back and do another 4-course meal. There were two of us; 2x 4-course meals, and 4 drinks came out to be around $150. If you just want to do cheese or desserts and drinks, that just depends on how long you'd like to be there. I would go back in this case. Our waitress was very sweet and explained the process from beginning to end. I was not a fan of their version of a chocolate martini; it was basically spiked milk with chocolate shavings.

We love coming to Melting Pot! This year the food was great but the server was not our favorite! Coming here and spending $350 for a meal the service should be impeccable! We had 6 people and had to continue to ask the other server to find ours! Good thing we were the cooks!

I had a lovely evening at The Melting Pot. The customer service was good, the waitstaff friendly and knowledgable. The flavor palettes were unfamiliar to me and I leaned on recommendations and descriptions to navigate the menu options. I especially enjoyed the signature drink: white chocolate peppermint cocoa, served hot with whipped cream. Worth the splurge!

The price is high. My meal was relaxing and I walked away full. The 4 course meal was more food than I really wanted. It is not easy to get something besides their 4 course meal.

Our server Julian was amazing. Very attentive and outgoing. However, the heat is just so uncomfortable. I get we cook in the dining room and it's summer, but you would think this would be taken into account. If it wasn't so hot I think our dining experience would've been much more enjoyable.

We went here for my birthday celebration on 2/13 which is the valentines dinner options. I had never been to melting pot and was looking forward to it. Hostesses could have been more welcoming. Waiter seemed new but still nice but not as informative as the other waitress in our section seemed. He also did not check on us after delivering our entrees. Please be aware entrees are boiled and you do so yourself. Raw chicken and steak touching when you get it. Cheese was not good, HOWEVER I will say the chocolate made it worth the $300 if you like chocolate that much. I would not go back UNLESS I am getting just the chocolate alone.

Service was amazing but I have had one issue with this location. While trying to enjoy a drink after my meal bar side in a supposed fine dining restaurant a larger female who assumed to be the manager was speaking with the bartender while both were working in uniform while saying out loud the large female was talking about intimacy with a smaller man. Was very unprofessional of someone in a management position. Overall ruined the mood and made it hard to enjoy my time.

We began our dinner, ate appetizer, ate salad and a roach decides to join us for dinner. We spoke to the host, he said let me take care of that for you as he quished the roach. We spoke to the manager and left. They asked if we wanted another table! lol. (Newport News, Va location)

Arrived before 3 for the weekend crave combo. Wasn't able to be sat before 3 saying it would be over a 15 minute wait, hostess said we couldn't get the deal. I got off work at 2:30, so this is a huge shame. I didn't mind waiting, but not being able to get the deal due to the wait was upsetting. We used to come here nearly every weekend before this, we will be finding a new weekend spot.
