My wife and I made a reservation to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and we could not be happier!!!!!!! Our reservation was for 6:30 but we arrived early at 6 due to myself miss judging the drive so we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar, having a great conversation with the bartender, while waiting for our table. We were sat at our table not too long after. Our server was an absolute rockstar!!!!! (I am ashamed I do not remember her name) and the food was absolutely amazing. The food, ambiance, and most importantly, the staff, made our evening very special. We will without a doubt be returning.

I haven't been here in forever, but I am so glad they're still thriving! I was a bit early for my reservation, so I went and had a nice Old Fashioned with Brandi at the bar. Our server, Emily, and her trainee were awesome and super sweet. I always enjoy a dining experience that makes me slow down from all of life's craziness. If you're looking for a semi-private, relaxing atmosphere, this is your place! Be prepared to play with your food; in a good way, of course. And treat yourself to a delicious cocktail while you're at it!

We received excellent service tonight from CARSON! His friendly professionalism ensured we understood the menu, the prep process and the most cost effective options for 3!!! We started with the Wisconsin Cheddar (DELICIOUS!) served with artisan breads (the pretzel bread was the best!), seasonal fruits and veggies! We did the Classic, Land & Sea, & the Steak Lovers! This offered the variety we needed for the full experience! We selected the COQ AU VIN cooking style...which was delicious! This is such a fun dining experience and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location & definitely ask for CARSON!!

It's a very nice restaurant. Dark snd cozy but very big on the inside. The booth that you are guided to makes you feel ss if you are the only one in the restaurant. Our waitress waited on us, hand and foot. It's really good to go to a restaurant that has plenty of staff to take care of customer's needs that way. It was our 2nd visit. The first visit was back in 2015, so my husband and 13 year old son didn't remember a thing. Our waitress was sure to enlighten us on everything we needed to know about the meats, sauces, veggie items, cooking techniques, etc... The menu is very easy to read and gets straight to the point. There's a variety of meat items to choose from, as well as vegetarian options. The food was superb! I definitely recommend this place for any occasion!

Started off a little rocky. Had to wait about 7 min for a table to clear even though we had a reservation. However after that it was smooth sailing. The waitress, Samantha, was awesome. The ambience was great, very romantic. The food was delicious. Drinks are great and well priced. Not crazy about having to cook my own food, but still had a great time. I will most definitely return here very soon.

We dined here after searching online for fine dining in the Virginia Beach area for my daughter's birthday. It's definitely a whole experience. I enjoy fresh, whole foods. You can't get any fresher than cooking it at your very own table. The atmosphere was dimly lit and quiet, and our server was top notch and friendly. It is evident that they take pride in what they do... from the freshest cuts of meat, fruits and veggies; to the vitality of the drinks; the variety; and even the excellence in service.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was delicious! I was worried at first due to having to cook my food but I’m sooooo glad I did it! The salmon was very tasty. I would recommend that and the seasoned chicken. I would go here again. You have to make a reservation. It’s rare to get in as a walk in. That just shows how popular it is!

Thursdate is a fun date night idea if you like fondue and the food is amazing. They set the mood with rose petals and cozy sitting that is more intimate for $52 per person.

After wanting to go to this place for years, we finally went last night to celebrate my birthday. I was NOT disappointed! Luckily we went on Wednesday which is BFF night so it's a teensy less expensive for a 4course dinner. For starters, we ordered the Wisconsin cheddar that came with bread, apples and a very minimal amount of veggies. No complaints but definitely would've appreciated more veggies. 2nd course was a salad -house salad with caesar dressing. 3rd course, we ordered the mojo broth. It came with teriyaki steak, plain steak, chicken and shrimp. They were all good but shrimp and chicken were my fav with this broth. 4th, we ordered cookie butter crunch which was white chocolate and cookie butter with almonds and it was tasty. Id definitely go again!

A great place to go for special occasions (we were there for our anniversary). They have various seating arrangements and locations around the restaurant to accommodate everything from larger groups to an intimate table for two. Service is friendly and attentive, drinks are very good, and the food is delicious and a unique experience. It's a bit pricey and I would highly recommend making reservations, but as I mentioned before, this place is best for special occasions.

Delicious food and excellent service. The food was brought out immediately by our friendly and attentive waitress. The cheese fondue was great, and the salad was amazing. The main course held up to the high standards the first two courses set. You cook your main course yourself piece by piece; so keep that in mind if you're in a rush, or are starving but hesitant to order salad/appetizer. I made a reservation online, and no credit card was required. There certainly was no way that I could've been charged any cancellation fees, as claimed in other reviews. This place is a bit pricey so I won't be eating here everyday, but I'll certainly be coming back sometime soon.

A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! If you’re thinking about it, do it! You will never experience this anywhere else and even if you’re not a fancy eater this place rocks the house. Very romantic, very high quality food, drinks, service, all the things! And yes, it fills you up for a table of two perfectly. You won’t need a to go box and you won’t want another bite, it’s perfect. I’m 5’2 and my boyfriend is 6’6 and we are both stuffed. Do it!!

Had so much fun here! Big fan of the self service style of cooking and the selection of meat and cheese and chocolate. If you do the dinner for two..maybe skip desert its ALOT of very yummy food🤤

I went here on a date night with my hubby. The ambiance is lovely. It's very romantic. Great for couples. We were seated at a semi-private table. We did the complete 4 course meal which includes shareable cheese fondue, salads, entrees, and shareable chocolate fondue. Everything is brought out course by course and cooked in pots at the table, so expect to spend a little more time here than at a normal restaurant. The cheese and bread was delicious. I ordered the Cesar salad which was nothing special. The entree includes a variety of seasoned meats and vegetables which you cook in a broth at the table. Though this was very interesting, I don't think I'm a very big fan of cooking my own food at a restaurant. It got kinda messy at times. They give you a variety of sauces for your different meats. The meats were seasoned so well and went perfectly with the sauces. It's a lot of meat for one meal. I couldn't finish it all. I ordered a bottle of delicious wine, which I discovered is exclusive to The Melting Pot. Our waitress Samantha was very attentive and anticipated our needs. She checked on us regularly, offering more dippers and refilling our glasses. As it was our first time here, she was very helpful in explaining the process and making food selections. By the time dessert came, chocolate fondue, I was stuffed. The chocolate fondue comes with various fruits and sweets to dip. It was delicious. Overall, it was a great date night. It is a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it!

It was our very first time visiting last night. The food and drinks were delicious. It was a good experience being hands on with our meals. I am gluten free and they had great options even with the dessert. We will definitely be coming back for our future date nights.

I don’t think words can do this place justice. I came here for my 2 year anniversary and my honey couldn’t have picked a better place. The mood was romantic and Starting from the appetizer with your choice from a variety of cheese fondue , to the Parmesan encrusted pine nuts in the Caesar salad and the entree of a chosen mix of steak, duck, shrimp and ravioli self cooked in a Caribbean seasoned broth at that point I was totally amazed. But what got me was the variety of strawberries, bananas , pineapples, pound cake, Oreo marshmallows and brownies dipped in their white chocolate creme brûlée’ fondue. The selection of wine and beverages was also amazing as well. I would say make sure your ready to spend a little bit of money because it is more fancier than I thought but totally worth the money and the wait staff answered every question we had and knew everything that was needed to know about the menu. I would like to add that most of the prepping and cooking of the food is done by you but hey at least you know how your food is cooked and it is definitely a fun experience. We will most definitely be back !

Fun dining experience. My friend and I have been before and we love this place. Highly recommend for special occasions.

Came here for my sister's birthday and the food was absolutely delicious! Fair warning for the cheese selections, if you choose one that has wine in it, they put A LOT of wine in and it'll be a little overpowering. Still good regardless. We got the meal that came with everything and this is all the meat that came with it! DEFINITELY worth the money! Also the s'mores fondue is the best dessert option imo, wish I would've ordered some to take home!

This Melting Pot was great. If you want to live like a high roller then try the big night out dinner for two. Its unnecessarily boujee, but 1000% worth it. There was a lady next to our table who was upset they didn't have a vegan cheese fondue option and was upset they served meat....but its cheese fondue. Like they're known for it and everything. So if you read a review complaining about that, please disregard. This place was great.

They have a great gluten free menu! They even have gluten free dessert! Takes about an hour and a half to eat here, so don't be in a rush. Take your time and enjoy the experience. Make sure you leave room for dessert. There will be dessert. It is amazing.

The food and experience was so amazing. This was my first time and our server, Mason, was the absolute best. He gave us suggestions and made our experience so amazing. I can't say enough about the service Mason provided. And the food was delicious and fresh. The ONLY critique I would give is having the lighting a little brighter. My husband and I don't have the best eyes so a brighter area would have made it absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this experience. And if you can request a server get Mason. He is bar none the best server I have ever had at a restaurant period!

My boyfriend and I came here for the Valentine’s Day menu and experience and we were not disappointed. Our server Emily was FANTASTIC. She was extremely attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about all of the dishes/ingredients. I am vegetarian and she was amazing at making sure they could accommodate to my dietary restrictions. Every course was flavorful, well-thought out, and timed nicely. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice dining experience that is not rushed at all and emphasizes service and ambiance. Make sure you ask for Emily!!!

Food was good, service was great. Small area with not the best ventilation. Had other people get the oil based fried foods and they may not have known how to cook as they smoked out and burned their food affecting the environment. Luckily we were just about to leave. The expensive “journey” wasn’t worth it, just get the better meats and call it a day. Very kind and attentive service.

The atmosphere here was great, very private and intimate if you want a date with a significant other or a nice dinner with the family. The price is definitely high but it’s worth the experience. Havana was our server and she created a great experience for both of us. We came here for our first time and had plenty of questions, she answered everything and gave plenty of recommendations. The food was delicious- there are plenty of options for anyone. We will definitely be coming back.

My husband & I have been to Melting Pot upwards of 20 times in our 6 years together- we came to this location last week & it blew us away! It was absolutely the best MP we’ve ever had. From the starter to the dessert, everything in between- the service was absolutely fantastic. Per our receipt, our servers name was Reef- 10/10 service! We will for sure be back.

We had dinner reservations at 7pm for two on 2/24/24. When we got there, we still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They were very busy. Taylor was our server and was so sweet and professional! She did such a great job explaining everything to us because even though it was our third time there, we had forgotten a few things. I ordered the Land and Sea and my husband ordered the Steak Lovers. The food is always really delicious, however my plate didn't have hardly any food on it. I'll bet if I weighed it, it would barely weigh 6oz total. I don't remember having so little food the last time we were there. For the price, it was EXTREMELY disappointing! The atmosphere is always very romantic which was perfect because we were celebrating our third anniversary. I don't know what the problem was but it was hot as hell in there! I understand there's heat on the tables but some AC would've been awesome. My husband and I were sitting there sweating and couldn't wait to leave, which was a shame. Overall, we were there for about 2 1/2 hours because they were so busy. We still really enjoyed our time but I'm not so sure we'll go back because, like I said before, the amount of food you get on your entree for a bill of over $140 with tip was a bit much. (The pictures below shows our entrees, or lack there of. My land and Sea was missing one shrimp and one piece of steak because I forgot to take a picture before I started eating)

My wife and I came here for the first time and it was a really nice time. The atmosphere was cozy and the seating arrangements allowed for a private night out for dinner. Setting up an appointment was easy and the time slots available were all good times to choose from. Our server was very polite and gave us a great rundown of the menu and was an easy person to talk to while he set everything up. We will definitely be back again and we already have ideas on what we'll be eating next time. We choose the final cooking option where we deep fried our food, it would've been nice to get a little demo of how that actually worked but we expected to mess things up a bit since it was our first time. The Fiesta cheese was delicious and the dessert was easily the tastiest thing I've ever experienced and makes the trip to the Melting Pot worth it all by itself.

J
Jessica Ellis

Enjoyed the experience and the food. First time going and we got the 4 course meal with cheese fondue, salad, entree (pick your broth) and chocolate fondue. Each course was pretty good, but you have to cook all of the meat for your entree which makes eating much slower. Kim was our server and was great with explaining everything to us. The guy at the host stand was not pleasant and welcoming. Pretty nice overall experience.

D

Our second visit to this restaurant. Each visit has been near perfect. Expect minimum $50 per person before drinks and tips. Wait staff have multiple years of experience each and are friendly and helpful. All the foods we've tried have been of good quality. Expect about a 2 hour time for a regular meal. Don't rush it. Cheese fondue appetizers was the Fiesta this time. Had apples, 3 breads and some vegetables. Entrees were good with 4 different flavored meats with mushroom, potatoes and broccoli in the stock. House salad was tasty but not impressive. Honey mustard dressing was good. The chocolate turtle dessert fondue is recommended. Pecans add a lot to it. Includes pineapple, strawberries, chocolate dusted marshmallows, pound cake, two different brownies. We recommend. 5 out of seven stars for a perfect score. We will return.

The place has a romantic atmosphere. The staff is friendly and place is clean. The food is questionable. 1. The cheese melt has a so so selection to dip in cheese. You get a few pieces of broccoli, cauliflower, apple, bread, soft pretzel, carrot. If this was me, I would choose other things to dip in cheese. The California salad was good. 2. I got land and see - shrimp, salmon, beef, chicken. I chose a vegetable bouillon. The bouillon was not flavorful, so it made the meats taste bland. The amount of meats was little and the end result was bland. And you don’t get to drink the broth like you do when you go to the hotpot places. 3. The chocolate fondue was good though. You get strawberries, marshmallows, chocolate fudge, rice crispies, pineapple. I would tweak it a bit and add more acidic fruits. Overall I think it is too pricey for the amount and quality of food you get. I would rather go to a Korean hotpot because they specialize in taste.

I booked a 8:30 reservation for Saturday, 02/07/26. We arrived at 8:20, and were not seated until 9. 3 separate groups walked in after us and were seated before us. While ordering drinks I asked if the melting pot mule was served in a copper cup, and the waiter assured me it was. The drink showed up in a glass cup. At this point the waiter seemed to lose a lot of enthusiasm to help out. He offered to remove the drink from my tab after I made it clear I didn’t want it, but failed to do so. After the main course, I had to ask for a box 4 different times before I got one. The check didn’t come promptly by any means. The food was great, but i just had higher expectations for the service. I’d like to eat here again, and just assume this was an off-night.

Had a reservation for 7:30 didn’t get seated until 8-8:10. The service in between the different option took very long. We didn’t end up leaving until closing. But, the food was good and desserts are amazing!

C
C. W. Scott

Had a reservation. They didn’t sit us until 10 mins after reservation. The server didn’t bring us plates until we were halfway through the first course. The drink I ordered when we first sat down didn’t get there until we were finished with the first course and that was after I asked about it and it was a beer so not like they had to make it. It was 30 minutes from when she cleared the cheese course until we got our entree. One of the “clean”plates she brought us for dessert had a hair on it

Chose this place for our 10 year anniversary and it was ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL! SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. MANAGEMENT DID NOTHING. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. IT WAS MY HUSBAND FIRST TIME AND JUST TERRIBLE! DON'T DO IT

How does this place even exist? The one star is for the ambiance because the experience…very underwhelming. If you like flavorful food, this is not for you… at all. Bland is an understatement for everything we tasted. Started off by dipping fruit and bread in bland cheese fondue. Next, a very small portion of sliced meat and veggies were brought to the table to cook in a pot of what looked like water(supposedly seasoned broth). We knew that would turn out ridiculously bland so switched to the cast iron style grill- better but not great- the salt/pepper we requested helped. By the time we got to the dessert, we were ready to call it. Also not sure if custom, but the service was very slow. In between each course, we were waiting. Sometimes looking for the server… who more times than not was chatting it up at the bar with coworkers. Save your time and money.
