While visiting family, we wanted to check out local breweries. We were impressed by the size of WBC, and wished it was warmer because there is a beautiful patio. We were given two seating options bar where there would be a band or the dining side. We were happy we chose the bar side because a local band was playing, Flannel Planet. I recommend them as well. Although there were a few hiccups with service and a order mixup the management handled it appropriately. Both the beer and food menu offered a large variety. We were pleased with the beers, good tastes and quality. I would go back, and as a plus if it was warmer, the outdoor patio is dog friendly.
The epitome of what a craft brewery should be...excellent beer, excellent food (really excellent food), family-friendly, LARGE and in a cool town. We stopped in on our way back to Columbus and couldn't have been happier with the experience on all accounts.
I made my own pie with red peppers and the house made chorizo and this is what I’m talking about! Fantastic pricing for what you get here. The crust was nice and airy, so don’t expect a NY slice here. The red peppers were fresh and tender and the the chorizo was exactly as promised. It had some nice crispy bits from the oven and a warm spice from the sausage itself. Michael was the best waiter I’ve ever had and made the experience even better. I could only finish 2/3 and I had not eaten that day so this is definitely shareable. Get over here and grab a slice or whatever sandwich you want! You won’t be disappointed.
Gluten free options. One of the best gf pizza crust I have ever had while eating out. Husband hard buffalo mac n cheese and a side of fries. Would go back again while traveling that area.
OMG I love this place! The food is delicious the beer is great; the staff is outstanding. I had the best experience there today. Merry Christmas to to everyone at Willoughby Brewing. Can't wait to come back.
Bar service was a little slow... I was there for about 5 minutes before the bartender came behind the bar. The wait was made up for with the service and food! Margherita Pizza and Beer Cheese Buffalo Dip - both we're fabulous!
Absolutely love this place! I've never had to wait for a table or booth, and the service is always quick. Food is great too; lots of options for everyone.
Great brewery and restaurant! Family friendly, great for groups. Loved moonstruck IPA and peanut butter cup coffee Porter!
Great food, drinks, and staff!!!! I highly recommend the railway razz and peanut butter cup beer!!! AND! Cavan is the best bartender!!!! ❤
I usually stop in if I'm bar hopping through downtown Willoughby. Appetizers are yummy and I've always had good drinks, never watered down shots or mixed drinks. Outdoor patio is nice. There's a parking area across the street if you don't want to pay valet, it's not that far of a walk but it fills up fast. If that's all filled up and no street parking left a little ways down the hill is Todd's field parking for the baseball field.
You can buy bottled beer, but their brewed beer is excellent. Food is also great. Get there during happy hour when appetizers are half off and get the egg rolls. They've got pepperoni inside! So delicious.
Burgers & BBQ, good selection of good food choices. Fine selection of quality house brews plus a few guest tappers. Staff is friendly, prompt, helpful and attentive. Food served finely and freshly made. Live music when we were there, band was pretty good.
Traveling back to Cincinnati and found this awesome place. We loved everything about it, including their unbelievable soft pretzels with very unusual dips all made with their beers. Best ever! Great music and service. We will be back!
Great food, great drinks and great atmosphere. Perfect place to get a bite to eat on a Friday night. The cocktails were priced right be prepared to have a designated driver if your over do it on the 5 dollar cocktails.
We had our company Christmas party here. The buffet was tasty (green beans, potatoes, pasta, beef, chicken, fish, desserts). The wait staff was very attentive and regularly checked in on our drinks, which was impressive given how large and spread out the party was.
Excellent Brewco burger. Good selection of dark beers, including their Nut Smashers, peanut butter coffee stout and others. While it's not too easy to find from Main Street, there is a one-way alley that takes you there (if using a GPS like Google Map) or there's a large parking lot, which is shared with Sol restaurant. Ample parking.
There was a minor mix up when ordering through Uber eats. Donnie the manager went above and beyond to fix the situation. He was very pleasant. Will definitely be eating here again.
I love the simplicity of the menu options with a wide variety of appetizers. I ordered the hot cider cocktail to pair with the cold winter evening. Nice and roomy with seating to accommodate any size dining party . Good music , tasty food , great alcohol, beer and IPA selection , all with friendly service.
Where do I start? First of all, every beer that is brewed in this place is amazing. If you taste it once you'll remember it for life. I highly recommend trying the awards winning peanut butter porter. Food is also a very good complement to the brew. Good days to stop for the beer is Wednesday it's $3 / pint and Sunday it's happy hour all day. Happy hour has special $5 plates so for about $12 you can have a meal and 2 very memorable beers to enjoy.
Mashed Potato Pizza was good (you can see I'm the picture it had like a salted pretzel crust thing going on that I liked), but I prefer the one at the Beach Club Grill. Fried Cheese Curds were tasty, but their ranch dipping sauce was about the thickness of milk, the marinara was good though. My friend had the shrimp tacos and said they were mediocre. The fries were really tasty and crunchy. They had that starch coating on them like BK used to have in the late 90s. The star of the show there though is the beer. If you don't like beer, this is not going to be your favorite place. I was drinking the peanut butter cup porter and quite enjoyed it.
Cannot comment on the food since I haven't eaten there in about 10 years. They have a few beers here that are fantastic. I stop bye after work every couple of months for a beer and conversation with staff. Very friendly staff!!! Adam is always kind to me when I stop in. Highly recommend!
Consistently good food and good brews. I like the Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter. Also some veg options, like the Hot Chick. A veggie and chickpea burger, with buffalo sauce on it. Reminded me of a giant falafel.
You really can’t go wrong at WBC. Solid beer choices. Everyone knows the PB Porter. But venture out and try the Nut Smasher. It has become our favorite by far. Great menu. Several options, can’t go wrong with any of them. Have been there on a date night, with a huge group killing time before a wedding reception or just there to watch a game. Has never disappointed. Also easy access to the very walkable downtown Willoughby area. Note on parking. The lot fills up quickly and there may be a small charge ($5 generally). There is free parking available, but can be limited and often overflows into a large park down a steepish drive. If you’re not sure footed, plan accordingly.
Great burgers good pizza! Beers were decent, but not crazy good.
Great first time visit. Patrick did a hell of a job showing us around. Food was good, little pricey, but the spring egg rolls were a great recommendation, and our server was on point. Worth a 45 minute drive! Will be returning again. Keep up the momentum over there guys!! Peanut butter cup just won an award in Denver, world beer cup. I recommend you find out why. Cheers!
We stopped to cool down and fill up after a long walk at Holden Arboretum. There was an excellent selection of vegetarian and salmon dishes for our Belgian guest. We Americans enjoyed the burgers and bacon club. Please please please add Coke Zero to replace Diet Coke, and offer sweetened tea. Those would take it to 5 stars!
Great atmosphere and food, awesome server. The host however insisted he couldn't find the reservation for our party of 8. The rest of our group was already seated. He was never very engaged in helping us. I had to call my friends who stood up and waved me in. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Really good local brewery, every beer I've had has been very good. The food is solid, not standout, but they do have good specials often. Even so, the beer would make the place worthwhile even if the food was bad (which it isn't!)
Actually make that a 3.5. Most everything was pretty good. BUT I will start from the beginning. We had a gift certificate, mind you to a place called Willoughby BREWING Company, that did not allow for the use to buy BEER. Odd to say the least. Next, with a large clientele there are only 2 disabled parking spots. Not great. We walked in with a reservation, which stated a table-not booth-with no steps if possible. This was done online through a 3rd party and was not followed. They were supposed to call if they could not accommodate my request and did not. The food was good. I had Amber Salmom with a portabello risotto. Salmon a bit dry and maybe 1.5 x 6 inches with a ton of rice. Maybe less rice and more salmon for $19.00. But the rice was superb. Another got Baked Masher Pizza..a wonderful mix of loaded baked potato and shepard's pie on a crust. We also had shrimp tacos which were good but had too much slaw. The strip steak was done to perfection but truffle oil fries were pretty much just fries. The wings were ok not a fan of the two available sauces. The chicken melt was wonderful as were the mozzarella points. Our server, though she started by admitting she had not read the reservation, was stupendous. She was always there without hovering and kept a completely believable smile throughout our entire stay. I might suggest not using the server ploy of breaking large bills into small ones on a $112 bill. Bathrooms: the men's was disappointing. Unclean sinks, corked walls with torn cork. It is had an overall dingy if not downright dirty feel. Women's was clean but the water pressure was too much. I/we would might back but would call the restaurant for reservations and hope the bathrooms are cleaner. And please get some more disabled parking spaces. Oh, and the music prior to the band (which started too early for dinner time on a Wednesday) was too loud for relaxed conversation-especially for someone with hearing difficulties. Think more about those with disabilities, please. That also goes for seating. A flat floor and hightop table is no better than a step or so for those with limited mobility. Choices were 3 steps to a table, one step up to a booth, or flat floor but high table. Not good enough.
Good menu options. I've actually had great soup here. It's fun on the weekends when there's live music and/or a DJ. My friend hosted a party there and it was a lot of fun with some nice appetizer selections.
Brought my kids here on a Monday night. It was very slow so getting seated was easy. Hostess and waitress were both helpful and friendly. Nice but not large beer selection of (I assume) in house brewed beers. The Saison and Oktoberfest were both great. The Buffalo wings were ok. I might skip them in the future since there are better wings to be had in Cleveland. The sauce was generic Buffalo in the “medium” category. Wings were well cooked and decent size. The Pretzel was nicely cooked but the dipping sauce (beer cheese?) was seriously lacking. The Cheesecurds were most likely pre-frozen but they were hot and cooked nicely. The Pizza has a thin crust and was just ok. Great for kids, not all that exciting for adults. The Brewers burger was quite good and the portobello mushroom was a nice twist on top. The plain Mac&Cheese was basic and acceptable for a 5 year old. The poutine has Niven ingredients but the assembly was haphazard and so the cheese curds weren’t melted and the fry-to-topping ratio was sad. They should consider how they play this dish. All-in-all the service was great. The place was clean. The beer is good. Unfortunately the food is a solid 3 stars.
The atmosphere and decor are great. The building was and old industrial facility, and some features of the past still exist in the restaurant. There is an overhead crane in the brewing area. The main dining room has an elevated toy train that runs along a lengthy track. Service at the bar was good. The establishment seemed clean and well maintained. They are a brewery so selections are limited to their options and a few micro brews. Since I watch my calories I’m always disappointed if a few lite beer options aren’t available.
I was really pleased with the food and beer! I had a flight of 6 beers, all of which were tasty. The buffalo cauliflower was some of the best I've ever had, and the chocolate layer cake...I'd actually go back just for that. I highly recommend checking it out! The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because we couldn't get our check until I went inside to find our server.
Good food, great beer selection. A bit expensive for the location. Peanut Butter Cup Coffee beer doesn't have much peanut butter taste. Other customers said it had more of a peanut butter flavor 3 years ago. We went with a large party and didn't need to ask for separate checks; the sever knew to couple us up. We kept waiting for the live music to start, which started around 10:10 pm. Seemed to have a 50+ aged crowd filling in for the live music. Plenty of screens with live sports. The parking lot looks like you must valet your vehicle for $5 to enjoy the large parking lot. We drove past the entrance and parked ourselves for free.
This was disappointing. The garlic parm wings didn't have any garlic or parm flavor to them at all. We did not finish them and the waiter was kind enough to remove them from the bill. I had the "Shogun burger" which was ok, no seasoning on the beef though, which I thought was an odd thing to skip. My girlfriend got the buffalo Mac and cheese which was probably the best part of the meal. The beer was ok, the food was cooked very well but lacked seasoning and flavor. 3.5 star experience at best. We won't be going back. Way too many better options around.
Great beers. Beautiful place. However service is subpar. I sat at the bar and the two bartenders were not welcoming, conversing agitatedly, ignoring me and other customers and just did not care to provide a friendly atmosphere with service. My food that I ordered was dropped off in front of me and she never checked on me if everything is okay or if I needed anything. When I asked for a glass of water without ice, she returns with a glass of water with ice. I asked her courteously for water without ice and she give me a sour look!! I'll go back there for the beer but won't expect great food or service. My advice, eat somewhere else and then go there for a beer.
Been going here for years. I go every winter when I'm home on leave. The past two years the menu has gotten shorter and shorter. Food is still good but the menu is seriously lacking. It's been cut down so much I almost got up and left this last time because there really isn't anything on the short menu that sticks out to me. Food has become very basic. I ordered the stuffed chicken, which was delicious, and the service is still very good. Just disappointed in the menus. I could go to any chain steakhouse and have twice the options, good food, and probably cheaper. I don't mind paying extra for the atmosphere but they are starting to lose it. Not sure I'll be back next year. Again, food and service were good, only three stars because of lack of menu options and atmosphere.
We have visited three Sundays in a row. First two visits were great. We came for happy hour. Had the buffalo chicken spring rolls and quesadillas as well as the peanut butter cup stout and a bloody Mary. It was delicious and service was good. Our third visit was a bomb. We both ordered burgers and split an order of pub fries. Burgers were barely warm and very undercooked and fried were cold. Sent fries back and fresh hot fries came. Server never checked back with us to see if we needed anything else, and when we asked for the check we were informed that it was shift change and it would take a couple minutes for the computers to load. AND THEN WE WAITED, AND WAITED. Her shift was over and she left, never telling the staff that came on shift that we were waiting for our check. Bottom line food and service can be good, or not. We won't be in a hurry to go back.
Good food and beer selection! The bartenders and wait staff are very knowledgeable of Brew co's beer offerings. The menu is extensive and quite delicious. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, especially their appetizers. However I have to say the speed of service leaves much to be desired. Even during 'slow' times, I feel like it can take fifteen, twenty minutes to even see the servers after being seated. Still, I will keep coming back for the beer!
I would rate at two stars but our group was around 18 and I know that can be a challenge for some kitchens. I would hope they can do better with small groups. Their beer is fine, especially the Peanut Butter Cup Porter. The menu is really limited in the number of options as well as the creativity of the dishes. The quality of the food is mediocre at best. No meats were cooked as ordered (over cooked) and the appearance on the food was that it was under the heat lamp for quite a bit of time. I ordered the Brewco Burger. The pork belly was very overcooked and tough and getting crunchy. The burger was overcooked. And surprise, the Magma sauce is just a spicy sauce that doesn't do much to bring whatever it's on together. The dining room is a swirl of weird and sometimes very objectionable smells. Some of which make me think that the drain lines in their bar or floor drains need to be addressed with a redesign or serious cleaning. I'm talking about straight up sewer gas wafting around this place. The neighborhood is hopping, the building is big, sprawling and has character, the beer is good. This place is failing hard at being a restaurant. The menu, food and dining experience have the feel of a crappy college sports bar where that patrons don't really exercise discretion. I hope they improve because they're a staple to that neighborhood.
Poor service, though good food and drink. Took 20 min to get to our reserved table ready. Drink order was taken right away, but food order took a substantial amount of time to happen. To a point that we had to grab a random employee to take our order. Our order appetizer arrived with our main order, but thankfully everything was correct. However additional sauces requested never arrived. Overall, our server was clearly overwhelmed and made for a poor experience. Luckily the food and drink were good!
One star because 0 stars is not an option. At 4pm they are out if half their menu & the peach sangria was very tart. Not a good experience. After giving us a "minute" (really 20+ minutes) to look at the menu that they didn't actually have food for, I had to flag someone down for my check for the drinks. My waitress walked away giving me a minute & never came back. Also the menu online is very different than the one they hand you. They need to get it together.
We finally made it here for dinner with my husband and 3 kids and it was oh so sad. Not what I expected at all. To begin with the server was not very personable (not a pleasant manner) at all, she came across as standoffish and cold and did not come back to ask for water or a second beer after 12 minutes or so. We had to ask the the bus person to get us water. We asked her for recommendation for dinner, and it seemed as though she had not tried anything on the menu. Overall, very disappointed and will not be going back even though the beer was good.
I had heard about this place from a few people and was excited to finally get to try it. Ordered our food, an appetizer and some beer. We got our app and drinks quickly, but then we waited for 45 minutes without any word about the hold up on our entrees(burgers/tacos). When we finally inquired as to the delay it was blamed on a printer issue? We waited another 10-15 minutes and eventually left without our food. Very disappointing.
The beer is great, cool building. Service was terrible even though it was quiet and there was plenty of staff on hand, missed a whole pizza order (6 in our party), waiter recommended the turkey wrap so I ordered it and got food poisoning. 1 and done.
Only been here a few times in my life and can't say I enjoyed it. The food is very expensive. The waiters seem annoyed when you don't spend alot. And its noisy. One time I was there with my big family and two customers got into a fight, they were quickly talked to by the manager. People seem a bit snobby because its a higher end place. Which always ruins it for me. Just because its high end doesn't mean you treat others like they aren't as good as you are.
Took my family (12 people) for nice dinner. Service was bit slow but food was HORRIBLE. The worst dish was Chicken Rockefeller , we couldn’t figure out what it was....the chicken was literally unchewable. Best description was it was like biting into a stress ball. So weird and gross. They took it off the bill but my son was so put off he didn’t want to order anything else. My Chicken Philly wrap was cold and completely tasteless, pizza tasted frozen, pasta tasted like out of a can, etc... I was embarrassed that I took my family there, I will not go back. Used to be a nice place, sad. And the bathrooms are disgusting.
I came here a few times about 2 years ago. The food was great and the menu was amazing... I came back today to a whole new menu. The great fried chicken was gone, the amazing pizza options were gone, and all pasta options were gone. The menu was small without much variety. We decided to go with the nachos on happy hour, but they ran out of brisket. Not sure if it is under new management or ownership, but it is not the same great place it used to be. Bring back the popular food items. Not impressed at all.
Giving it one star because the only thing good at this restaurant anymore is the large pretzels and the water. I have been to the brew co many times but not in the last 2 years. I always enjoyed it and always had good pizza or Mac and cheese from there. When i went last night (12/29/18) i did not feel like i was at the same restaurant i remembered. This place is DISGUSTING and not only disgusting, I got food poisoning from it too! I got sick right after I ate the Mac and cheese. Not only was the food awful, but the service was just as bad. Waiter forgot to bring the chicken tenders I asked for in my Mac and cheese and didn’t come back over to our table for 25 minutes after we got our food!!!! I am very disappointed. This used to be a great restaurant. Sad that it’s gone so downhill.
Food was decent. Was disappointed by the lack of the restaurant following guidelines set by the state due to COVID-19. Tables were not spaced 6ft apart, customers were sitting shoulder to shoulder at the bar, staff were improperly wearing faces masks (down on their chins) and talking in very close circles, waitress was placing hands on our backs when coming up to our table and not trying to distances whatsoever when around the table. Restaurants not following any semblance of the guidelines set by the governor make me feel unsafe. Will not be back.
