Found the delicious traditional yummies we were after! Great tasting food! And we are demanding when it comes to authentic flavor. They got it
Got some breakfast pastries. They were wonderful. I’ll definitely come back.
You could find every type of Guatemalan food here, mostly every dish. The bread always smells delightful and very moist, but on the other hand the cashiers have a tough attitude. The reason I gave this restaurant 5 stars is because my mom has brought me here since I was a baby, and I grew up drinking " Atol De Elote". My mom isn't really a fan of sweets but she loves the "Pan Royal" because of its wonderful taste. Not always but sometimes, the seating gets complicated. What I mean by that is it gets crowded. My Instagram is @delidonut1
You can find most Guatemalan typical plates here at a good price...they also bake Guatemalan style bread everyday. The only problem is that there's no parking anywhere unless you're ridding the bus.
A plate with beans and crema was very pricy for the small amount of food served on the plate . Other than that my bolillos and my atole the avena was 😋 🔥
This bakery sells the best & freshest baked goods in the LA area.
I hava been a customer at La Guatemalteca Bakery for many years. The place has improved greatly. The food has always been great , what improved was the seating arrangement. There are now more seats and tables than before. There is a ramp for hadicapp access and they have 2 restrooms. The food is always fresh and ready to go. You can alao preorder the food for pick up. The place is primarily a bakery for Guatemalan bread but , the cooked food is so good that peopme bring the entire family to have a good meal. Breakfast lunch and dinner are served. Duri g the holiday season there are waiting lines so is best to arrive early.
This place brings so many memories to my life as when you taste the food, 🍜 it tastes exactly the same as you were to be eating in one of the finest restaurants in my beautiful country Guatemala. 🇬🇹 Stop by and try it, you won't be disappointed! ☺
My mother being from El Salvador says she absolutely loves these cookies that she has to have with her coffee every single day, even if she doesn’t have coffee, she needs to have the cookie which ultimately makes the coffee taste better 😅
This place was very authentic when it comes to food from Guatemala. Customer service is attentive and very helpful. If you don't know what you're buying or ordering Ask and they will tell you what you're getting. This is a very comfortable place to eat and buy. Check out out.
Guatemalteca Bakery and Restaurant all Bakery items nice
This is a perfect place to come eat and to buy bread. They also have s small section where they sell different types of thing like chips, drinks and ice cream. They bread here is freshly baked and you can buy cakes here and fruit tarts. This is the perfect place to come when you want to eat some food that one eat when they go to Guatemala.
I've been coming here since I was a child this place has at least a 20 odd years of being open, if you are looking for some 100% authentic chapin cuisine, then come to spot. Also it won't hurt to know some spanish when you show up.
Easily one of my favorite places to get a quick bite. The Pan con Pollo, Casamiento, Chiles Rellenos are a staple for me. The food is made fresh and hot to order. The staff is nice and the pricing is reasonable
I love the food, only two things If you eat there they don't give you more coffee only one drink and that it's. Service they try but it always takes some time to get your food.
I have lived in California 3/4 of my life going to this bakery takes me back to my childhood to those bits and pieces of memories. Love their sweet bread and some of their food. Mom makes the best there is no argument.
The flavors in each dish are so unique and delicious. The staff is professional and makes every dining experience memorable.
Nice place. Delicious 😋 food Something I don't agree with is the customer service. This time an employee was in a bad mood and did not receive good service. but maybe it wasn't her day. I hope it doesn't happen to me again because the food is really delicious and the place is quiet.
I gave them a call before going over to get some tamales. The lady that answer was very nice and polite. A couple of hours later we arrived (me and my two friends from Mexico) and the service couldn't be better. Everybody was in a great mood, they made sure we got what we wanted. The place was very clean, even though it was a little busy that day. As a chapín I was very pleased that I told my friends I was going to take them to a very popular Guatemalan place in LA and I'm glad none of us was disappointed.... keep up the good work. And to the owners, keep the ladies working there happy because it depends on them for us to keep coming back....thank you all!
I am from Guatemala so obviously I have to give it a good rating. But other from that, it's quick and you don't really have to wait for the bread, the food that they serve is amazing and taste just like home, they have some really good treats, and a wide variety of drinks. 9.7/10
I have fond memories of this place. I've never had a bad meal. I love everything here. The bread they serve with the meal is so fresh!
I only go here a couple times a year, especially during the Christmas holidays to get the Guatemalan tamales 😋 their sweet bread is also delicious, made fresh every morning. They also serve a variety of Guatemalan dishes. It gets pretty crowded, especially on the weekend.
If you want to taste authentic Guatemalan cuisine at a cheap and reasonable price, this the place to go. I mainly only brought a huge Orange soda since they have a mini store.
I love this bakery! My grandfather used to work here and it's changed a lot from what I remember. But the bread is still amazing and place feel like a little piece of home. Their prepared meals are exquisite and definitely worth the price. Everyone is friendly and business is high so you know it's a great place 👍💜
I have been coming to this place for years and my son now comes to this place as well. The food is good and the bread is good as well. I noticed alot of the negative comments regarding the food is really uncalled for. Guatemalan food is NOT Mexican food so don't get the flavors confused. Obviously the tastes will be different. Alot of people generalize all Latino food into one category and that's MEXICAN FOOD. But they are all different with different tastes. I think you should go with an open mind. Second the customer service is OK but do you really need someone to kiss your behind just to make your bakery experience a great one? As long as they give me what I want and charge me then I'm off to my merry way and I really don't care if they smile or not.
Friendly staff and tasty food. They can improve the cleanliness on tables and chairs.
Ever since we found out from our last trip to LA, this place is our go to for taking home goodies. My parents love the food, reminding them of home. Surely will go again.
We are from Oregon and my boyfriend missed the food from Guatemala. We happened to be in town and decided to come here. He was in heaven and so excited. Thank you for having us. The food was awesome.
The food is good and the prices are decent, however, the help tends to be bad depending on who helps you. Some if these women that work here seem to think all men go in there for them instead of the food. Also, they don't seem to pay attention to what they're doing, I placed a big order and trusted the girl that helped me to make sure everything was in the bag, however it wasn't, I didn't check myself and to an extent it was my fault. My order wasn't complete and I don't live close so decided to let it go. Now I check to make sure everything I paid for is in the bag.
The food I have tried there is great! I will take a trip all the way from Northridge just to eat their French rolls, pan con chili, platanos con creama y frijol or even costillas de puerco! I have been a customer since 1991. I’m am happy my friend from guatemala took me there to eat or else I would have never known about this place!!
We went to try some of our food from our Guatemala It is impossible to find parking don't go on thursdays Is trash day and you I'll be behind a trash trucks for more than an hour . beside that the Torrejas we're not the best, the hilachas another plate was good but very watery like bread was good pan francés was not so fresh and everything more expensive so combos are $11 .$$$ so I love the flavors but
Today I had pepian, I was not impressed, was not so bad, but it can improved, the atol de elote, corn atole was watery and it had too many corn ears which were hard with not very good taste, last week the atol was very good not today, and the tortillas are losing the touch, they are small and thin if you have your customers happy, your business will improve, thank you, everyone for taking the time to read this.
We came here for some rellanitos and they were super delish!! They made them fresh when we ordered them. They still taste great after warming them up for leftovers. There is also a good variety of other foods there, but these are all I ate from here. There are tables to sot inside and there is a restroom to use. Service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend to come here. We will be back. It was just hard to find parking.
Excellent bakery and resto. Their “cheesecake” is superb, and many other baked goods are also first rate. They also have breakfast and lunch items which are great. Nice people, authentic food, great prices. We like this place.
The food here is great! I haven't been in this area to eat here in over 6 years and the food is still fantastic! Treat yourself to a small variety of to-go lunch meals or a full dinner plate! I have eaten lunch here 3 and 4 days out of the week. Its just that good!
The Guatemalan food and bread are delicious and the prices are great. Their customers service is good too. We'll be back.
This place has a vegetarian menu and many Latin American restaurants that generally cater to authentic food don't. So I recommend this place being that I'm a vegetarian and has a great selection of tortas breakfasts and mainstay Guatemalan dishes. It has a small little market too and a takeout counter stuff that's ready to go at a drop of a hat. It's always busy on Saturday and Sunday and this is only because of how good the quality and the service is. If you're in the neighborhood stop by, I recommend it
Food here taste like if you’re almost in Guatemala. The sweet bread are the best! Everything is really so good! Most try!
This is the best Guatemalan bakery! We live in the Valley and make the trip to LA to get the bread and food such as chile relleno, tamale, champurradas. We have veen going to this bakery for almost 50 years with my Mom. Everything is fresh with good ingredients. Bread how it was once made in Guatemala.
They always welcome you I enjoy going there once in a while
Thank you for the quality of Pan dulce and the kindness of service you provide. God bless you with the Holy Spirit. 🌹🩷
Guatemalteca Bakery and Restaurante has the BEST and most authentic Guatemalan breads. Inside the bakery, to the left there is a little store with different foods, and to the right is a small restaurant with tacos. The workers are always kind, and the bread is always fresh. The cheesecake is my favorite!

I went to buy tamales some very delicious tamales at the Beverly location on 12/24/25 but two of my tamales had hair in them, please be more careful.
food is delicious, their sandwiches are amazing, great service! Great friendly atmosphere, the best place to have breakfast or lunch!

Really good food and fair prices, variety of Guatemalan bread. Service was good and fast. Went on a Sunday morning and there was enough seating for a family of 7.

Food is delicious. Inexpensive, small servings though. Their variety of food, drinks and pan dulce is awesome. Staff is super friendly. No parking.
First time having Guatemaltecan food, I'll be honest to say I do not know what the items I had where called but one thing is for sure they where very delicious and good! (Pictures attached) Parking was a bit difficult, there is no parking lot just regular street parking. service was very fast and helpful to tell you what things where since I was not familiar with anything and a very reasonable rates. I'll be coming back when I'm in the area to try more things .
Good food but I bit pricey. Traditional breakfast came up to $14. Wish they would create combos to make it more attractive for me to return more frequently.
I am not Guatemalan and I thought I had gone to Guatemalan culinary heaven! 🤤 Homemade taste! Bakery AND restaurant, family atmosphere, limited seating, no parking lot, very limited street parking available (-1 star).
A bit intimidating. I went in on a Saturday morning on my way to Wilshire Country Club. I was the only non Spanish speaking person in the place, and it was PACKED. I knew I had to eat there seeing how many people were going in and out. It's in a rough part of town, so parking is suspect. I really enjoyed my guatemalen breakfast, which is 2 eggs any style, black beans, a runny sour cream, and a bread roll which can best be described as a very average bakery roll. For some reason, my bread was cold. The black beans were more like runny soup. Very tasty. I actually prefer it like this. Almost emulsified. I also selected a combo platter from their prepared deli section. I got the beef which appeared to be chunks of lean beef sauteed or boiled in a tomato based sauce. Very delicious. I also got 2 sausages, not sure what was in it. It was not as snappy and fatty as American sausage. This looked like it had rice in it. Very flavorful, also excellent. All in all, it cost me less than $20 for 2 meals and a coffee. It would cost more than that for a pastrami on rye at Langer's. I need to go back and try the other items. Will repeat.
I am a muffin freak. I've been in search for the perfect muffin for years! After hitting Bake up a few times, I've finally found a place that makes the perfect blueberry muffin. These muffins actually have blueberries in them....lot's of blueberries. They are moist and not sweet.Aside from the muffins, the coffee cakes and tarts are fantastic. I drive 10 minutes every Sunday to come to this place.
It's a great Guatemalan food experience. The taquitos are good. You get to also buy some bread and you can also buy drinks.
The food is amazing, if you want to try Gustemakan food this is the place. The bolillos that they call pirujo are the best. They carry many products straight from Guatemala.
Great food!! Everything is very tasty and fresh. I've seen food here that if it wasn't for their food I would have never known much of the guatemalen dishes. Portions are really small and priced high. Customer service can be a little more cheerful and not look like you bother them when you are ordering. Seating is bad - they could use more or different types of benches. I gave them 4 stars because food is excellent everything else could improve. By the way!! They don't have parking so you have to drive around the block looking for a spot or if you are lucky to park in front you have to pay a parking meter!!! Only 3 spots there.
Great place to get your local guatemala bakery needs. Prices have gone way up Is portion Sizes are very small now
The food is great if you want some Guatemalan flavor. The place is small, not a lot of seats. They also have sweet Guatemalan bread. Floor could be cleaner.
Food is delicious, I usually get pepian or panza, but the ladies need to work a little more on their customer service. Every time I go it seems as if they don't want to be there. Their attitude is very cold. If their customer service improves, I will come back and put 5 stars.
Delicious food and satisfied service. Only inconvenient there is not a available parking lot
I tried the food and not a fan of it. I've tried better. But the bread is delicious 😋 pan Frances, pirujo, pan dulce, tostadas. Bread is really good. I go there just for the bread. They have a variety of Guatemalan products on shelves. I give the bread 5 Google stars🌟
The lady in the front was very nice. No issues with them at all. I liked how the place was decorated very nice. Only downside it is very hard to find parking and I had to walk a little to the store…
The food is delicious all the quality products are good, but the female employees have a very bad attitude, they treat the customer as if one ordered the food for free.I am from Texas and I was a month of vacations in Los Angeles and the costumer service was the same with bad attitude.always by the mornings.Good luck
Customer service it's ok, although it used to be by far much better, b4 they opened their 2 other bakeries! One of the worst things my family & I have encountered is, that we've been sold old bread!! Basically it's bread done the afternoon prior & clients have been told that it's for the next day, not that evening!😱
The food in this place is ok. They do not have parking tho. The service is nice and friendly. They have really good variety of sweet rolls.
Delicious food and everyone is so mice there. Parking is IMPOSSIBLE though. That's the only reason for a lower rating, and I realize that's not their fault. But the restaurant and store would get 5.
This place is one of the worst places for finding a parking place. I almost end it up in a crash several times. The food it's just fine but they charge like if I went to Porto's (Cuban expensive food). Just two little paper bags with a few breads inside, more than $15. That is too much!
Great place, love the food, and the service was OK. Not having anyone with the ability to speak English made things a bit difficult, but a customer stepped-up and offered to translate. I go here a couple times a week.
I've gone a few times and it's usually pretty good. The bread is fresh and the pastries are good. Parking sucks. It's usually busy, but so far the staff has been helpful and friendly. Time for a complaint. I went today for lunch and the potatoes on my plate were raw. Not cooked at all. No bueno.
I use to come here more often it's been a few years. I was highly disappointed at tamales pork tamale had not a teaspoon of meat 3.49 for mass and sauce. Bolin was rock hard. When i arrived i stood in line behind a man there were 4 girls counting tips who kept looking at me no one offered to assist me finally after 10 min I was asked what I needed I said I wanted tamales. They said I needed to get in like and order where hit food was. Customers service would require some direction if nothing is posted to read . Very poor customers service I won't return here and will look for a better option else where. Good customer service is important.
Okay so this is one of those weird places where it's very difficult for me to rate. The bakery is okay but not great. The food is okay probably better than the bakery but you have to get used to Guatemalan style food. Guatemalan food has traits of Mexican food but they can be very different in style and taste. Still this place is very busy so I know the logos love it.
This place e is hard tell. Sometimes service is good, but the food is not so good. Other times food good service, but another cook. So food not good.
Not bad for a fast typical bakery as the woman behind the counter just smile and are so pleasant. The spot is nice and let's start with the food: I had the typical breakfast of eggs, beans and crem…
When I called to ask if they had Guatemalan tamales ready (I wanted like 20) or if I had to wait and how long in order to get them hot then how much each (I had to see if I had enough for 20) the guy just answered some questions then hang up on me with unfinish bussiness..any ways..i ended up going in person and bought tamales all excited thinking they were chicken but they gave me pork (they never offered different meats and I thought Guatemalan tamales always go with chicken) then they did not put the olives or seasonings or bay leaf and the tamales were too small and expensive, 3.00 dollars each..hard to park on a crazy busy street..im not buying from here no more. Tastes like salt only :(
I been coming to this place for a long time. On Monday June 7,2021 I came to buy food and I got some chuchitos. My kids were hungry and I gave them a chuchito, let me tell you that when I got home I eat a chuchito and the Maza was still uncooked and didn’t taste well. This is the first time that this has happen and I was very disappointed. Please when you buy food and want to give it to your kids try it before them. Is very easy for someone to get sick. I will never buy chuchitos or tamales from this place again.
I would give 5 stars 🌟 but I bought pork tamales and chuchitos on Saturday 5/7/22 around 5:15pm and the flavor was disgusting, I didn't like it at all, horrible taste 👎
I had fond memories of the cookies I used to have when I was little so wanting to order a few to take home, I stopped here. My Spanish is very bad however, and when I tried to tell the girls behind the counter what I wanted not one spoke English or made an effort to speak to me in broken English either which I found pretty rude. There was certainly someone who understood what I was trying to say. The fact that not one of them made an effort, even though I was extremely patient and pleasant, left me with a bad taste in my mouth despite my desire to eat those cookies. I will not be back.
The Manager was very rude, I asked her if she would please put more staff to attend, because I am was waiting for them for more than 15 minutes She said in a bad manner, the She doesn't this is all I have, She said. In a bad manner .She needs to be careful professional and to know that: " The costumer is the most important person in the world "
The food is just like I remember when i was a kid. But I've been here a couple of times and the women at the hot food area are really rude and short tempered. I have been super nice and my Spanish is good. But I always get a nasty look and they roll their eyes at me. But when other patrons come they switch up and fake their smiles . I don't know why
I came to buy some food and the lady helping me was giving me an attitude, so rude. Customer service needs to be improved drastically.

I CNT BELIVED,THE PORK TAMALES, HALF THE SIZE AND A TINY PIECE OF MEAT. THE CHILES RELLENOS,ARE HALF THE SIZE , I HAVE NEVER SEEN A GUATEMALAN CHILE RELLENO,ROUND LIKE HALF A DOLAR,THIS PLACE IS NOT AT ALL,WHAT USED TO BE,VERY SAD.I WILL NEVER GO BACH,I SPEND 100 DOLARES, PLUS 35 FOR UBER,I AM SO VERY DESAPOINTED.
This is the First time I hear that when using an EBT Card under $10 You Get charge Extra
I've been there a couple of times, my husband goes a little bit often because it's close to his job and there aren't many other options. First of all, the line to order food is crazy. Because you make a line, you choose your food and then there is only ONE cashier to check out, the problem comes when you realize that the cashier is also helping serve food, therefore if she's busy serving other customers' food, she can't take care of the cashier machine, so you will find yourself stuck in a line where other hungry customers are waiting as well for someone to come to their senses and fix this and finally having someone ONLY to take care of the money. If the management considers its other girls unfitted for the cashier position, then assign ONE girl specifically for it. Because the line gets so long. Also, their food is not only tasteless but expensive, it's ridiculous! Besides the fact that all the plates come with rice and beans on the side, even if you order "beans soup", it comes with rice and beans, if you ask to change the rice and beans for some lettuce, they say they can't do it and they end up throwing some lettuce leaves for $2+. Let alone that nobody there knows what manners are. All of them, all of them are rude. Sorry management/owner, here's a Latina who tried to give you business but you're failing on training them real basic customer service skills.
I've always buy here in the mornings and everything is good but when it comes to the afternoon shift is a mess they always mest up my bread I stopped by today to get some Beans cause my 1 year old baby likes the beans and I found a discustin stuff inside it was so gross it was a fried plantain I don't know how long it was there..... They shouldn't sell beans with stuff inside... if inspection comes to this store they would close it....
Very poor customer service we encounter a bad servers with attitude issues. the tables are so tiny and you can’t walk around. very bad place to dine in.
Visiting from Georgia, and had the worst experience food wise. The Chiles rellenos are not poblano peppers, actually they used bell pepper ( half of it) and very small portion, very expensive. The rellenitos very stale, the bread is old and the atole is loaded in sugar with no flavor. I’m very disappointed with the service, the food and the ordinary lady whose make up is very notorious, wanted to sell everything possible, forks, bags, etc. I also got tamales to go, my tamales got all smudged because they used to put them in a box, now they just toss them in a bag one on top of the other. It’s the very last time I go to this place, and never recommend it. Cheap service, cheap food and greatly in disappointment. I honestly do not recommend this place at all. The neighborhood is no good, no parking, trash and dirty and to used the restroom in the bakery you need a passcode!
Poor View of Given Customer and Experience They are Playing with their Serving portions very Poor and Ridiculous Sad The lady's Room NO Toilet paper!!!
Rude people, poor communication, staff wouldn't even say anything
Food was Ok. Just Waiter/Kitchen Staff name: Roxana Was rude about the table and then started with the broom making it feel Uncomfortable.
