Opinions de DQ Grill & Chill Wimberley
This is the best DQ I've ever been to. They have great customer service, they really care, and their cooks look like they take pride in the food they serve us.
I was having a really rough day and stopped in for my usual PBP and the kid at the window presented the ice cream to me with a big smile like he was really happy to be working there and it made me so happy I cried after. I know I'm a big baby but it's the little things sometimes. Thank you!
Saw a lot of negative reviews so I was hesitant to stop here for a meal. Glad I gave it a chance because the food was delicious and fresh! Don’t listen to the negative reviews.
I love this DQ. Great people work there. Always clean. And when we show up at 9:50 for Ice Cream a few times a month we are always greeted with smile and delicious ice cream.
My husband and I are visiting Wimberley, from San Antonio. Janet was extremely friendly and courteous and gave us great customer service. Unfortunately that is hard to come by these days, but it’s definitely nice to see.
For a fast food place it's nice. I came with a single purpose and that was to get a Blizzard. Good choice!
Boyfriend and I were so impressed. Normally small town are awful. They did forget to give us a bag but we weren't mad because the fries chicken strips bread AND tg
This DQ has ice cream cakes that are the best! Not all DQs do ice cream cakes. You can even order a Mint Chocolate Chip one! Most other places only have chocolate or vanilla!
Was received with a great smile and very very nice service foot was so so good we were very happy that we stopped at Dairy Queen to eat I used to rate Burger boy in San Antonio at the number one burger place in Texas but I have not tasted the burgers from Dairy Queen there are so good and to me they are number one I am from San Antonio Texas
This Dairy Queen is thru the roof GREAT the manager the staff all great the food is always good fresh and hot I love this place please don't close the dining room down again I only do eat in because if I do Togo its cold by the time I get home keep up the amazing work Sincerely David davis
One of the most popular lunch spots in Wimberley. Don't worry about a lot of people in the drive thru because they are super fast, friendly and consistently get it right!
DQ in Texas is not what DQ is in other states. Most the business which isn’t handled at a city council or county commissioner’s meeting will be transacted at a DQ in Texas. The food is what it is, though I profess an addiction for their chocolate dipped soft serve cones. This particular DQ has a special place in my heart: I’m a composer, and I drove down Ranch Road 12 when I was conceiving a new piece of music. I’ll bet you that: 1. Over 30 years, I put *easily* 20,000 miles on the car taking that drive down RR12 when I was composing new music; 2. I composed 20 percent of my total output, if not more, either at the roadside park on the Devil’s Backbone on RR12, or at this DQ. For that reason, this particular DQ, above all others, will always hold a soft spot in my heart. Over 30 years, they got to know me well enough to ask what new piece I was writing when I walked in, and got my large, chocolate-dipped cone ready without my even having to ask. THAT is how you build a customer relationship!
Great staff and very patient (while my kid figured out what he wanted). Very "homey" type of family atmosphere (older customers). Reminded me of my better times
My order was very hot and fresh. Tyler behind the register did a great job! He was very nice and professional! Keep up the good work guys!
Dairy Queen was delicious as always. Service was fast and friendly, AND I got a delicious Sunday FREE with my burger combo. When was the last time you got anything FREE!
My parents have owned fast food restaurants for over 52 years. The food is good it's quick but most of all the customer service you receive from the short lady at the window is the best service you'll ever experience in your life thank you
Their chicken salads are very yummy! All employees are sweet and helpful. They seem like they need extra help but that’s everywhere right now unfortunately. I definitely recommend. The food is always good and fresh.
These folks are busting their behinds and have great teamwork 👏 Food was hot and tasty, ice cream was cold and I am so glad we stopped
This dairy Queen has been a local fixture of Wimberley for as long as I can remember. They serve good food and good treats, when you're here in town and you're looking for something to eat. It kept very clean, you will like it .
This is hands down the BEST dairy queen I've ever been to, the burger looked pretty which is wild on its own but it tasted good too. Everything was fresh and hot and the staff was super nice. Dq is my last resort food when I'm on the road, I really didn't want to go, but this one is so above and beyond my expectations.
This place offers good food and ice cream treats that are so great. They do need to figure out a better drive through that is faster and reliable so your food order is better. But they do try for sure.
I realize, a Dairy Queen is a Dairy Queen but this one (in Wimberley) does everything perfectly. Good food and treats promptly served by friendly staff. Easy access from hwy 12 and plenty of parking.
Made a last-minute change to whip-in Dairy Queen of H-E-B instead of having chicken from HEB and chicken and dumplings from Dairy Queen. Best quick dumplings.
I ordered a blizzard to go and they forgot the toppings. Went back the next day and were wonderful! They replaced for free. Everyone was just amazing!
very friendly people and the best vanilla ice-cream of any DQ around.
Manager has it together! She knows the code of excellent customer service and being kind to both customers and employees alike. Grateful for this experience always!
We tour the hill country and Wimberley occasionally. Our favorite place to eat is Dairy Queen. It is the best place if you are visiting with friends since the environment is ideal for communicating. There are no long waits for food and it is not wall to wall people. It is easy to park your car. Dairy Queen makes for a simple and enjoyable visit to the area. I have found nothing wrong with the food. Dairy Queen is the best for chicken strips with gravy. Their hamburgers are good. Wow, I can taste it now. We’ll go again soon.
Got ice cream. Service was great, but the drive thru takes forever.
Hey folks, it's a Dairy Queen, like other Dairy Queens. It's well-run and a new store I did like it went there twice
Good stuff tonight I had the beef taco salad...perfect. My daughter had the 4 strip chicken basket...fries were perfectly cooked, strips were a little tough, but hey we're used to Chick-fil-A.
For fast food it is a good option.
This DQ... many memories here! I remember when it opened and some of the locals were in an uproar about the height of the sign and so someone shot the sign. I worked here in high school... Visiting home tonight and DQ sounded good... dining area was closed due to being understaffed, but the young lady staffing the drive through not only got my family's huge order right - the order was made correctly very quickly! Food was hot and tasty :)
Pretty regular Dairy Queen, problem comes from the lack of space, both times I’ve been there the drive thru line is well overflowing. Otherwise, food hasn’t made me sick or anything, solid 8/10, a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one when it comes to fast food.
Had to clean a table. Drink machine was out of several choices. Missed part of our order. Some of the food was lukewarm.
Decent food and good ice cream, but no chocolate ice cream 😢.
I ordered the chicken basket - fries pretty good, a little soggy. Toast was very good. Now about the chicken.... To say it was overcooked is not exactly right. There was still chicken discoverable after you chipped the batter away. So, it's not a chicken meal, but rather a light chicken snack.j
I've grown up eating at Dairy Queen, so I like the food. However, sometimes the service is lacking, especially when it comes to getting orders right. The staff is friendly, though.
It's alright... nothing special. Long wait at the drive-thru every time.
It was in wimberly tx an they were slow I waited 15 minutes for a small chicken basket the lady said it was they were making gravy when I got my food tacos were good but cool an gravy watery an made me sick sorry but that's facts an doors were locked no entry line long
Stopped by for a couple Dilly bars. These folks aren't open for inside food pickup so you're relegated to the drive thru line that was nine deep and not moving. 40 minutes later...Dilly bars acquired.
My wife and I were looking for a place to get a quick meal but this place was a pick up only. We went somewhere else. I dont eat in my car.
Hit or miss at this DQ! I love the grilled chicken taco salad, but not so much when the lettuce has wilted down to translucent slimy mush from being previously frozen. There was quite a long wait that day and hardly any other customers in site, business was too slow for them to not look at what they are selling! Disappointed but not surprised!
Theyre stingy with their ketchup and onions, the blizzards have this freezer burn after taste, but hey at least its warm and its not like there is much else open right now. Though if there were more options I probably wouldn't come back, just because you have a reliable stream of customers doesnt mean you can deliver sub par food below even good fast food chain standards.
Food was good and hot. But the restaurant was so very dirty; people had to wipe down their tables like we did, the windowsills are filthy with dust, dead bugs and greasy fingerprints. The windows themselves are dirty as well. We saw only two women and a young man working the counter and cooking. Place needs a thorough cleaning - didn’t dare use the bathrooms.
Only visit here for desserts. The desserts meet the bar, however the service at this location is not at par with other DQs that I have experienced.
When we walked in the line was long, I was surprised that there was only 1 person at the register, we found out his name was Tyler. He did amazing handling the chaos, despite the fact that he was the only one working the front, kept being asked to stock the cups and cones, and complete the orders he was taking. He was doing the jobs of 3 workers and did it well. His persistence and work ethic was impressive! If it wasn’t for Tylers hard work I am sure many people wouldn’t have even ordered or waited in line.
It's a Dairy Queen folks which means fast food. Better places in town to eat. Ice cream is only reason I gave a second star.
I used to visit DQ in wimberley often but ever since quarantine happened their hours of business in the p.m. close 2 hours sooner then prior. They close at 8, which for someone who tends to work into the night, really freaking blows. This was the only place to get food past sun set. C'mon Wimberley DQ, make some incentives for existing staff and/or new hires.
They are messy. Don't clean outside of drink cups so you get sticky all over your hands and clothes. Could be better and much more attentive to details.
Hands down the worst burger I've ever had with no flavor at all...2 stars because they still have good ice cream and friendly service.
I give this Dairy Queen 2 stars because their ice cream is amazing but it is hard to mess up ice cream. You bring the 30 lb box of ice cream from the freezer and hook it up. The corporate owners ignore these stores and treat the employees badly hence the crappy food. It is not the employee's fault. But I love the parfaits. I haven't eaten one in years because of this location's reputation.
ordered my food, drink, and a reese's blizzard. lady brought it out for me but gave me an orio instead of reese's milkshake. no big deal, just a tiny mix up. the problem was that when i brought it to the workers attention, she then started arguing with me about what i had ordered. ever heard of "the customer is always right"? at this point we had gone back and forth about it and i felt like i couldn't have them remake it because she was already in a mood, so i left with something i did not in fact order, nor did i want. not happy.
The food was great but we were VERY displeased of the lack of service. We were just trying to get some food while the guy put in our order and him only knowing that we were ordering food without telling anyone like he told us he was going to go and tell someone to work on it but didn't and he went to go work on the vending machine THANKFULLY the lady in the kitchen asked him to work on our order. Other than that it was just fine I guess.
The chicken tenders tasted like middle aged office worker depression but the fries where good and the Dr Pepper Tastes normal
I asked for the 4 pc chicken strip country basket and ended up receiving steak fingers, even after they had to ask for clarification. I tried to eat the steak fingers but it wasn’t long before I got nauseous due to all of the grease. Other than that, the fries an toast were very good and I thoroughly enjoyed my milkshake.
extremely slow and still can't get you the right order. Waited 15 minutes, in the drive thru, before reaching the window. They verified my order, took my money, then I had to wait another 5 minutes for my order which turned out was completely wrong. There was no way I was going to wait through that mess again so I just ate what I was given, but probably will never go back, unless its just for an ice cream come or something simple.
Our blizzards had hardly any strawberries, chocolate chunks, or pecan pieces. We went ahead and ate them due to time constraints but will not be back to this DQ. Very disappointed.
Not a single table was wiped down. Soda machine must not be properly maintained. Burger was well done but cheese wasn't even melted. Let's be honest though, ice cream is usually why you go there though. :) I remember when DQ Wimberley was a well taken care of establishment. Would just be nice to see that again.
We took our grandsons there for a treat. One grandson asked for a hotdog with everything and it came with one strip of mustard. The other grandson ordered a hunger buster combo, and there was NO MEAT on his bun. They did fix it, but the place was not crowded or busy at all, so this was completely unexpected.
My family and I enjoy going for ice cream during the summer months. Service is always good and the employees are friendly. My issue is with management and the way I have seen them treat their employees, especially the younger teenage looking workers. On several occasions I have seen these managers being horrible and bringing one girl to literally tears. I asked the young girl about why she puts up with in and she explained alot of the employees are getting fed up and some are quitting. Just the other day while getting ice cream the machine was sort of popping like spitting out air. The young man was wiping down the machine after each use trying to keep it clean. The manager then comes and angrily asked him why the floor was so dirty, she left it clean and told him to immediately mop it up. Seems to me if the ice cream machine was working properly there would not have been an issue. After this incident I have decided to no longer take my children for treats at this location. I would also like to apologize to the employees on behalf of these managers. You should not be treated that way and I appreciate your hard work.
Trash food along with trash personality at the drive-thru. Thinking maybe this crew needs training from the Kyle store. 2nd time here and both visits horrible.
We travel all around the United States visiting areas that are interesting and beautiful. One of my BIG pleasures is enjoying a banana split once in a while in our travels. This DQ was without a doubt the worst banana split I've ever had in all the banana splits I've ever eaten. Without me saying a word, my wife said that she would take it back to get it fixed. When she came back to the table she said they begrudgingly added 2 very small dots of whip cream. It was a small, dried-up, pitiful excuse of a banana split. The bananas were dry and you could not see the small scoops of ice cream unless you moved the bananas aside. I wouldn't go back to that DQ if it meant going hungry. The staff was cold, there wasn't even faked customer service, and the banana split was a sad rendition of a real Dairy Queen banana split. It there was something lower than one star I would give it to this Dairy Queen.
Went in when they had the 2 for $5 and watched them microwave my burgers and then try to tell me they were melting they cheese.......what fu@#!ng cheese, do you even see cheese on this burger!!! Needless to say never eating at DQ or a Smith owned property ever again!
Don't look to the internet for hours. It's wrong. They closed today at dinner time. Like 6 pm. because of staff. Someone who knows how to run a business should buy this place and make it better or get rid of it all together.
You guys close way before 10pm I sympathize you are under staffed but the franchisee needs to pay more to retain a staff… you’re going to go out of business if people start to assume showing up won’t do any good!
Extra-Salty ice cream served at this Dairy Queen! We tried to leave Wimberley on the 4th of July and were re-directed due to a parade. We pulled into the Dairy Queen parking lot just to use our GPS to find an alternate route. Within 40 seconds of pulling in, we were approached by an older female DQ employee. I told my boyfriend to ask her how to get out of town, and before he could open his mouth, she was telling us that we were not allowed to park here - that parking was exclusively for her customers. We tried telling her several times that we just needed directions. She wouldn't let us speak. When she finally understood our intentions, she said "Sorry, I just need to make sure my customers have a place to park." The parking lot was completely empty. Guess I'd be grouchy if I was a 50-year-old DQ employee, too. Stay in school, kids!
Steal fingers, chicken strips over cooked, fries crispy, toast not toasted or buttered, gravy was white water. Best thing was the dr pepper and sprite
There were NO clean tables and the staff were not that busy to do their job and clean off the tables. I have worked fast food and I have worked at Dairy Queen there was NO call in this nasty dinning room
Their moolatte machine has been "broken" now for over three months. Ridiculous. At least they could take it off their menu so I wouldn't waste my time driving through.
Every single time I try to give this Dairy Queen a chance, they fail. Horrible horrible horrible. May be the only fast food in Wimberley, but don't go!!!!! Horrible customer service, orders are consistently made incorrectly, constantly out of items they sell, and quality of food is poor.
Twice in the last few months we went to the drive-thru at 8 pm for a dip cone and they were closing. What’s up with that?
Janet M was RUDE and unpleasant. She rushed me through my order and essentially even competent enough to get it right but she could certainly come up with sarcastic comments. Horrific experience
Come on Dairy Queen, Get your act together. Covid has been over for a long time no more excuses. Keep your lobby open. Not doing your drive through wrapped around the building. Sign says short staff all the time. Well then pay more so you can get help.
still closed inside.doesnt take much to open diner. stock some straws sweep the floor wipe the tables. instead of because of employee shortage diner is closed should say, current staff is lazy. if there to lazy to open diner maybe to lazy to wash hands. third time I went to diner last few months with family for family diner, use to love DQ night with kids. will not be coming back even if diner opens. I have lost confidence and trust in staff.
This is the WORST DQ I have ever been to. First time they messed my order up. Second time, everything was alright. But the third time, they forgot my fries, my burger was cold and sloppily put together and drenched in mayo, plus they burned my jalitos. Only thing they got right was my coke. I will never go back here and I will make sure to tell everyone to avoid this one.
Now I see why I see videos of FAST FOOD workers being drug out of the drive thru window! What is so hard about POLITELY taking a customers order WITHOUT an attitude? (DERECK) Working drive thru right now 10:22am on 09/28/2021 needs to be talked to by a manager and I’ll just leave it at that! Oh I asked for the “ manager “ (BRANDY, I was told) she was no better. I just simply won’t be back.
I love dairy queen and I'm really disappointed with my visit today. Janet the drive thru cashier has horrible attitude, every question I asked she seemed to be annoyed by and respond with attitude. Please have a good talk with her you might be losing guests. Also asked her for a double meat and only got a single. Will still continue to visit DQ!!
I ordered a chrispy chicken salad not even 30 minutes ago to get home and find no tomatoes, and no ranch dressing which i had to pay extra for, and now had to use my own. Not only that, but shouldnt be paying almost $8 for a salad with no more than the chicken and a sprinkle of cheese. The red sprinkle at the bottom was the bacon bits.
Restaurant closes at 8 pm!!! So if you drive up at 7:58 for ice cream you will be turned away. Google is incorrect with a closing time of 11 pm. They were cleaning the machines even before 8 and the girl pointed to the sign and shrugged.
Will not eat the food. Ice cream cone only. Banana Split was awful. Worst hamburger. One day showed up. No employees ( teenagers) showed up for work. Employees can be rude. They use to contract out their custom DQ cakes to a lady in Wimberly. They cut the contract and now no longer can get custom cakes like before. It was for my dog_s birthday and had to limited ingredients. Warren Buffet a founding investor in DQ lost control of his investments.
0 Stars. This place had us waiting in drive thru for about 45 mins. When we finally get to the menu and speaker to order. They ignored us. We said “Hello” three times! Waited, turned off our truck to see if they could hear us. Repeating HELLO. We began to think the speaker was broken so we moved up. Then they start speaking with the car behind us. When we get to the window finally!! We tell this small older lady she skipped us, she makes a face and says what can I get y’all… no apology no concern just an inconvenience for her. I refused to give them any money but my boyfriend is nicer than me and paid up.
Waited at drive through to no avail. Never got service, drove up to window, not soul inside. We were not the only ones trying to get some cool treats after a hard day at work. I worked at a little caesars for 6 years it is not hard to answer a drive through customer at the window or at the speaker. We waited 12 minutes, called out to the speaker, and knocked on the window. After a full day at work, I just wanted to celebrate my birthday with a cold blizzard. Now I'm just sad and blizzard less and still hot. Very disappointed.
So, I've never done this before. I drove up and ordered triple burger, no onions, med size pepsi lg chocolate shake and small cone. Been coming here for 20 years approximately. Could not hear the associate taking the order. On a scale from 1-10 - his audible was .05. He was talking to me and I politely advised I could not hear him. A woman - 17-30 yo (?) came on her ear piece and YELLED back at me he said "to slow down". I told her she didn't have to yell at me and her response was "Well, you said you couldn't hear"! I then said to her she was yelling at me and her tone was totally unnecessary. I wanted for them to give me my amount, and would have been nice some form of an apology but nothing. So, I said, I will pick up at the window. No response. Drove up for next car, then heard her YELLING again to the person behind me about me! What - OMG. Appetite gone, I slowly pulled up and around the cars and left. If she was training him, management needs to rethink her role. I have worked in the food industry going through college - I always try to be polite because I know how the general public can be - but this encounter is one for the ages. Man, all I wanted was a burger and to give my dog a vanilla cone treat - but to get this. Sorry about the wasted food.
Several times I’ve been here and they do not complete the orders correctly. Nachos deluxe with no meat. Bacon cheeseburger without bacon or cheese. It’s sad that they can’t make simple orders correctly since they’re aren’t very many food options here in Wimberly.
This is my last visit to DQ. The service has been extremely poir the last few visits. The Dude is still good, but the fries are stale and old. I have to ask for more than 3 packets of ketchup, and the young lady working at this moment has a VERY BAD ATTITUDE. And this is not the first time.
I have spent likely thousands using this drive through and it’s generally not particularly slow. But today it took more than 20 minutes to get just a single JR hunger buster. And I was the only person in the drive through line and only a few cars were in the parking lot. It was before 11 am so no lunch rush! So when she finally brought me small bag to the window and handed it to me I politely asked why it had taken so long today. In reply she snapped “We have OTHER customers too!” Then she slammed the window shut. Wow! I’ll have to find somewhere else to spend my money! Never going back there! It’s an expensive fast food place anyway. Sure don’t need to pay that much for bad service and rude employees.
They need to test this place down and build a Sonic in its place. It's overpriced, you never see the same staff twice because the turnover is ridiculous. It's hit and miss if you get good service or not. They microwave the food right before it goes out. I hope you like hour vegetables on your burger. I try not to go herr but it being the only fast food burger place in town kind off limits my choices.
This dairy queen is bad got burned chicken fingers and service is slow I recommend a different location
This burger that I just bought is uneatable. They bun is translucent due to the amount of grease and they didn’t add cheese to the burger. Fries cold and took an ungodly amount of time to get the order. Disappointed and won’t eat there again even though we live here in Wimberley. Super disappointed and a waste of money.
Drive Thru experience. They have a terrible speaker and clearly can't hear what people order because my entire order was wrong.
Food here is good, but if I had to say one EXTREME downside, is the woman named Janet which I believe to be the assistant manager. I have witnessed on occasion her screaming at employees and making the over all atmosphere less enjoyable. Also, she has a nasty attitude when responding to customers. She, in my opinion, is completely unprofessional and drives customers away from what I’ve seen from some of the other reviews. Her attitude is planting my decision to never come back to this establishment. I hope you take my words into consideration.
Always terrible food, messed up my kid's burger and took 30 minutes to replace it, ordered a dipped cone and got a plain cone. The only thing dipped here is the employees.
I usually never write reviews but this is the worst I've ever experienced (no cap). Uneven treatment towards customers Worst Dairy Queen ever... I just ordered a dipped cone and they did not get back for a very long time. Then a man came 10 minutes after and ordered the same blizzard and got it right away, I STILL did not have my blizzard at that time. Even worse, I asked a worker about the situation a couple of times and they were very rude towards me (the worker was an old lady). Probably racist or smth smh...
Went through the drive through. Placed my order there and ordered an item that was very largely displayed on the menu. Pull up to pay to be told by the cashier that “they no longer serve said item”. That would be something to state WHILE PLACING the order not after pulling forward. And if the order is no longer available, change the menu or put a sign out. Train your cashiers better.
