Had to say this about the cook Good food great service and great quantity I think the cook saw me hungry 😋
The food is awesome! Steaks are amazing blackened shrimp and bread bowl was sooo delicious! Can’t say enough about the food! Margaritas are great and very good service! Definitely will be back! ❤️❤️❤️ file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/13/03/F37D470D-5723-4A7C-B51C-94C23A474440/IMG_9133.HEIC
Food was great, and Elizabeth our server is the bomb. Great stuff, chill environment. Gotta try it!
Don’t sleep on the beef fajita quesadillas! Our waiter Devin was excellent. Very polite, never had an empty glass, and constantly checked in at the perfect times.
The salad was absolutely delicious and the fish was fried nice, light, and tasty seasoning.
Hello, I loved this place, everything was delicious. I ordered some supreme nachos and wow, I loved them. We also ordered fish tacos and the tortillas were super delicious, very tasty. The service was excellent. I highly recommend it and would come back a thousand times,🩷🫰🏻 and the decoration of the place is super pretty!!!
I can’t say enough good things about Tia’s in Winnie! The food is always delicious—every visit has been a treat with consistently yummy dishes. But what really sets them apart is the incredible staff. They are so friendly, attentive, and genuinely customer-focused. One time, I came in with both of my babies (both under 2), and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience easy and enjoyable. They were quick to bring our food, super accommodating, and even helped entertain the little ones while we waited. It made what could have been a stressful outing such a pleasant one. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food and an even better atmosphere, this is it. Highly recommend for families or anyone who appreciates great service!
Yum! Nice surprise to walk over from hotel and have such a nice meal. Hubby had a basket and I had the shrimp salad. Very good and nice servers.
The outside looks small but it has plenty of room inside. Clean restrooms and fun decorated walls. Nice locals and family place. Probably seats over 150 just in the main area. Great cornmeal batter on the fish and shrimp that were served blazing hot! Also received excellent service from our server, Damien. Will come again to this one or any of their other locations.
This place was fantastic. Some of the best hush puppies I've ever had. Cajun Girl po boy was messy, but super tasty. Good gumbo too. Cool place.
This place was FABULOUS! It was busy but not horribly so, im sure it gets very busy. We were a party of 4. We got Lillie as our server. OMG! She freaking rocked! She recommended the perfect drink. She was upbeat and super sweet. The food. The food was on point! Is was so amazing! The taste, the presentation, the portion was just perfect. We really enjoyed our visit.
On the way to Beaumont, decided to stop for lunch here. Best decision made all day. Food was great! Wish we didn't live so far away in Houston.
Stopped by this place on our way back home. Couldn't have made a better choice. Food was delicious, lots of it, and great prices! Atmosphere is great and so was the staff. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
We stopped here because my father in law stumbled upon this place last year and we decided to give it a try! We were not disappointed! This place has a great atmosphere, they had kind staff and were very quick! Great variety of food. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend. It’s a good break from all of the other typical places!
We were here a year ago. The food was so good that when passing through we had to stop again. Appetizers were boudin balls and a shrimp etouffee pistolette. They were both very tasty, but there were no shrimp with my pistolette. For the entrees, my husband got the seafood enchiladas again. I got the blackened tilapia, with the pineapple & mango pico. Both entrees were delicious!
This place is good. Or at least what I imagine is probably the best in the area for contemporary Mexican. Incredibly vibrant interior: advertises live music and was quite hoppin' for a weekday night. There was a mix-up with my meal and I was overcharged. Had a little difficulty between server and manager in remedying it but ultimately left feeling there had been adequate resolution.
Lucky little stop in for a Sunday night. We were seated promptly, greeted by everyone, orders taken and served with a perfect combo of fast, friendly, and care.
Every time we come through Texas we stop and eat here! Salsa and Grilled Chicken Breast are Amazing! I’m sure everything that is cooked here is Excellent!
If i could give more stars I would! The food was delicious and portion size was on point. The mango.pico was to die for! The kids meals were awesome and my husband enjoyed the fried shrimp. Lilly recommended tbe "pain killer" and when I was done with it, definitely felt no pain lol Now our server, Lilly, was tbe sweetest mist upbeat server. Knew her menu well. Checked in on us but was not overly there, if you know what I mean. .... loved her. Best experience at a new place!
Delicious lunch! What a great place to stop. There is so much to look at on the walls, the food was great and Connie was an outstanding and attentive server. I highly recommend.
We stopped at the Winnie location on our way from Texas to Louisiana. The food was delicious and the stuff were beyond awesome and took great care of us. We had the Redfish Tacos and the Roast Beef PoBoy. Both were so very good and we had enough for dinner too. We will be stopping again on our way home. I can't say enough about some awesome folks and wonderful food.
Such a cool place! You walk in and it has very upbeat vibe. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff with a smile. As you entering into the dining room you will see an array of nostalgic decor. There’s huge picture of King George on the wall. There are so many cool things to see. You definitely dont get bored looking around. They have a bar to the left when you walk in an tvs with sports playing. The bar has a rainbow of frozen drink machines on the back wall . The staff looked like busy little bees in all their colorful shirts. It’s a happy place. For starters try the blackened seafood bread bowl! OMG!!! The fried green tomatoes are also delicious. They come with a creamy bacon sauce. The Redfish tacos are massive & tasty! They even had a beautiful ceasar salad to eat on the lighter side. The fajitas were the best. Well seasoned and tender! For dessert they have a Sopapilla strawberry cheesecake that is to die for. You will not be disappointed!!! Definitely a lot of food for your money. They have very large menu. So there is something for everyone. They have menu at the bottom just for the kids. They even have seating outside on a pretty large patio, that is dog friendly. If you’re passing through Winnie Texas on I-10 make sure to plan a stop at this little gem. If you live near by and have never tried it, what are you waitng for?
Best seafood I've ever had. The crab fondue and shrimp bread bowl was so good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and you cant say that at many places because the shrimp is usually over or under cooked. But here IT WAS PERFECT. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was very polite and helpful. Loved the atmosphere and the music. Needless to say this place was amazing. I will be back and I will get the bread bowl again!
While on the way to High Island for some birding we stopped off at the Winnie, TX Tia Juanita's Fish Camp for dinner and had the gator tacos. Excellent dinner, top-shelf margarita and service (thank you KK). The restaurant was full on a Thursday night which is indicative of its popularity. It was so good that we stopped off for lunch the next day on our return trip to Houston. I had the half Po Boy with a cup of seafood chowder (thank you Jacob). The combination allowed for a taste of two local cuisine favorites.
Wow. Fun ambience, great service and terrific food! We had the seafood enchiladas and shrimp brochette. Tried appetizers of boudin balls and pistolette. Loved them both. We asked the server for recommendations and took everyone of them and were not disappointed. Really enjoyed our lunch.
We often travel on I-10 through Texas. The most visible places to stop for a meal tend to be the large restaurant chains. They're OK, especially if you're short on time and want something reliable but we are always on the look out for something out of the ordinary. So far, we haven't done better than Tia Juanita's Fish Camp in Winnie, about 30 miles west of Beaumont. A fine restaurant, but not a place for an intimate conversation. It's lively and colorful and usually busy. We have been there several times.I order the grilled salmon or mahi fish with rice and vegetables. My husband, who knows I usually don't finish a full entree, gets the crab cake appetizers and finishes mine. Every dish is fresh and well prepared Our table was right next to the interior window that looks onto a grill top in the kitchen. We watched the chef make order after order of char-grilled oysters, topped with cheese - Next time.
First time ever to Tia Juanitas! Our server was on point, never needed a thing. We tried seafood enchiladas, roast beef poboy and corona rita. Everything was fast, hot, and very good. We were in and out in under an hour. I really enjoyed my seafood enchiladas. Moderate prices. Charro beans and rice were good. I like that they have options for non-seafood eaters. Would return.
This place is so busy) food is amazing. I ordered the grill oysters 🦪 it was so good. Also the gumbo soup is delicious and shrimp po boy is really good. The portions are big, customer service is excellent. Thanks to the barman for the best pino colado. The waiters are super friendly. Definitely 5 stars. I saved this location in google map and recommended for all my friends.
As you can see, we ate most of our food before taking any pics! Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff, and amazing food! We got the fried green tomatoes and char grilled oysters with bacon and jalapeños for appetizer. The blackened shrimp nachos were delicious! And then the fried shrimp and catfish were also good. Everything was fresh and hot!! We live 2 hours away, but will definitely find a reason to cone back!!
I've Traveled Europe, California and State Side. California is known for Seafood (Everything). This Place is a Must Visit if you haven't Traveled. Great Service, Fast Service, Friendly Service. Grill Chef is Visible and (Grills Accordingly). Quick and Fast. This Establishment understands what Old School Values and Service Etiquette is All about. This is a 6 Star Location. Thank You for the Great Service Team. Hats Off ☆☆☆☆☆☆
I am loyal to the catfish platter! The fish is consistent in being perfectly seasoned, thick and flaky with a crunchy light coating. I haven't been impressed with the sides - fries are just ok, the potato salad lacks flavor, the hush puppies are hard and lacks taste. I love the kitschy decor with the warm, welcoming, fun vibes of the place. I purposely plan my travels through the area to accommodate a stop for a meal. I would love to have a Tia Juanita's in Houston!
Made a trip from New York to Texas, decided to stop and get a bite to eat at Tia Juanita’s in Winnie Texas.. I was curious on the alligator bites… it was the best thing I had. Delish! Our server Elizabeth was the sweetest and told us about the history of the place. Best Customer service. I would definitely recommend this place 💯
We were pleasantly surprised!!! We stopped of with friends on the way to gamble in Lake Charles! Turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Everything the 8 of us had was excellent!! Two nights later we ate at Landry’s. The two are in completely categories standards (see my review of Landry’s). Quality, VARIETY, price, Service 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I honestly can say that Tia Juanita’s in Winnie, Tx is the best location in SETX!!! I live in Beaumont but my husband and I take that 25 minute drive there every time!!! Yesterday my favorite charro beans were left out our order, but we didn’t realize it until we made it all the way back to Beaumont!!! I called the restaurant to let them know…and spoke with Tom the GM…and he was so phenomenal…he went completely out of his way to call the location in Beaumont to give my husband and me a free meal!!! Talk about the best customer service ever!!! I just wanted them to write my name down so the next time I came I would get free charro beans…he went above and beyond to make our experience more valuable than I could imagine!!! I always love their food, but now I’m in love with the people there!!!, and Tom is the best!!!!
I LOVE this place, great food, great margaritas, a fun place to meet with family. They have a back bar area that opens with live music and outdoor seating. Their fajitas are so good. The manager is awesome, and so are the oysters and fajita nachos. Everything is a shareable size. Just go!!!!
I'm a trucker and seen this cute fish restaurant in walking distance. I had a full meal including appetizer, mainmeal, dessert, and a virgin pina colada drink. It was only $56 for all of that. I got the gator bites as an appetizer. So freaking good, definitely recommend. The sauce to dip the gators bites was zesty, so if you can't take heat their great by them self or with lemon squeezed on them. The dinner i picked was the salmon. So good, the sauce on top made that dish spike to a 10. I also. Couldn't help myself to a dessert of a strawberry shortcake. Very good and great size for all the food items I got. Definitely recommend coming to eat here so yummy.
I have eaten at many restaurants over the years. Nothing compares to Tia Juanitas. The food was cooked perfectly. There were 4 of us at the table sharing food from each plate. The food here is better than any restaurant i have been in. My family and I will definitely be coming back here. Our Server Christie was world Class. What up Christie and Dimitra. Greetings from OC California! 7-10-2025!! Back again!!!! The food was fantastic!! I recommend the Alligator Tacos!! Our server was great!! I love this spot!
Highly recommend!!!! If you’re looking for an excellent seafood restaurant. This is the place! Bring an appetite with friends or family. They have a wide variety of starters and menu options that will be filled with large portion. The staff and manager were all excellent and very attentive with truly wanting to ensure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. Wonderful home town feel with a country sea side vibe with a little playfulness (candy machines and stickers etc). Pro Tip ~ If you have a large family or group., call ahead to avoid waiting. They are very willing to accommodate!
Had dinner here with my hubby. We started with oysters with bacon and jalapeños and they were delicious. I had the seafood enchiladas and they were delicious as well. I didn't care much for the charro beans or rice. The gumbo roux tasted burnt. Which is a shame because I love good gumbo. Husband had the beef fajitas and he loved them didn't care for the rice either. (It was mushy) our waitress was friendly and attentive. Definitely would go back
Outstanding experience! Dustin, the bartender was friendly and made great suggestions even alternating the menu to get me what I wanted. First ever boudin ball and I’m blown away! Why aren’t these in every city on earth? Also, first time eating a Pistolette. Light, delicate, cooked perfectly, tasted like a temporary escape from reality! Entree was bbq shrimp but I wanted grits not rice, was not a problem. Good move, best grits I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Shrimp and sauce were perfect and the garlic toast was too! Highly recommend!!
Pulled in across the street at the truck stop & saw this spot. Thought why not I haven't eaten. I'm so glad I went in and tried it. I had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp. It was great!!! I like the inside of the restaurant. All the wall decor, played great music. Definitely my style in the different genreds. My waitress was okay not to friendly & couldn't give recommendations on the food because "she doesn't eat seafood ." Overall, I was pleased I will be back whenever I pass through & definitely recommend.
Happened to notice restaurant beside our hotel and googled reviews. Have to say we were very impressed with all aspects of our dining experience. Food was exceptional. Waiter recommended the alligator for an appetizer and decided to go with it, never having had it before. It was great. Husband had sausage and chicken gumbo and I had fish which was rice and shrimp, both excellent. The New Orleans BbQ shrimp was so flavourful, just loved the sauce and tge serving size was exceptional. And don’t miss out on the 20oz frozen margherita. Loved it.
Recommended to us by the owner of Frascone Winery. What a fun and delicious stop, We had Oysters on the half shell, fresh and delicious, Shrimp and Grits, sweet shrimp and flavorful grits in a yummy tomato sauce, grilled fish tacos, wow, were they good and New Orleans Shrimp. Everything was so good, nice large portions. The margaritas were tasty and the fried green tomatoes were crunchy and hot and the dipping sauce was to die for. The wait staff was so friendly and efficient. Can't wait to stop again...way too many things we want to try.

This is a great place! Just a short detour off of I-10. The parking lot can get a little tight, but I always luck out and get a good parking spot.

I've been a couple time now and have always had good food here. This last time they under cooked my steak which is a common mistake for medium rare but as soon as I notified the waiter he quickly took care of it and cooked the steak longer in a very timely manner. Even asked if I wanted a whole new plate!! I declined and asked for the original steak to be cooked longer but they still gave me a new loaded baked potato without asking. Very good restaurant that takes care of their customers and the drinks are great. If you're at the bar ask for Dustin! He's amazing
There are lots of food choices and the seafood is pretty good. Sometimes there's a problem with swating a few flies but overall everything is OK.
This particular Tia Juanita's in Winnie got order wrong, with bringing fried fish, when we requested grilled. Even though it was a child's fish dinner, we feel they were real skimpy on the grilled fish. However, interestingly when they brought the mistaken fried fish, there was a lot. It was also very noisy when we came in this Monday evening. We have been pleased with all other Tia's in Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. This one was a bit disappointing, including the waiter.
I definitely enjoyed this place and the service was great so here's my honest opinion about the food. The fried ribs was the best part ❤, they were seasoned well and the amount was perfect. I didn't try the dipping sauce on the side maybe next time. The fried green tomatoes were fried to perfection, my only issue with them was the needed some salt and pepper. I would have been in love. So this was the same case with the seasoned fries, the Spanish rice which is why I only have 4 stars. The steak in the fajitas was flavorful, the cowgirl po boy was also great. If you happen to be in Winnie definitely stop through.
Loved there gator bites! But the grilled shrimp plate had one heck of a spice on the veggies. Our waitress Cheyenne was superb!
Pretty good food. Shrimps were melt in your mouth good. Beers were cold.
This was our third time here and food was pretty good and love the fact that you can still enjoy a seafood dish without having everything fried. I try the Gumbo it comes with rice and bread on the side (due to my diet now I didn’t eat rice or bread) but still a good size sm bowl for me. Plenty of sitting room and nice bar area as well with great music playing in the background.
Staff was awesome. Very attentive, polite, helpful. \nFood was meh. Gumbo tasted burnt. Nachoes were only okay. \nAtmosphere was pleasant.

Well we finally made it to the legendary Tia Juanita's Fish Camp in Winnie TX. We had a party of 4, The table had alligator bites for starters and they were fantastic. I had a dozen Oysters Royal and they were cooked perfect and over the top. Wife had the shrimp po boy and it was loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp and sauteed onions with a great sauce which pulled the whole po boy together, it was the best yet. One of the others had the fried shrimp, fish and oyster basket and it was loaded, she said it was excellent. The other person had the fish and fries basket and it followed with the rest. Service GREAT, aesthetics GREAT, Atmosphere GREAT. There was one thing that didn't make the cut for me, I had the top shelf margarita with 1800. It was pretty bad and tasted like pure mix only. I could not get past a couple sips. I had to go to a double patron in a tall glass with carbonated water and lime juice. I think its called Ranch Water. All in All you have to go and try the food. Richard
Ate here two nights. Got the roast beef po boy and chicken and sausage gumbo. Wasn't a fan of the po boy. It had just a ton of mozzarella cheese on it and was just kind of a gut bomb. Gumbo was just ok. The broth was thin and not very rich. Potato salad was good but the charro beans were bland as hell. Oysters were very good as well as the boudin balls. Had the blackened tilapia the next day which was good. Good local spot and good service but the food is hit or miss.
TOO EXPENSIVE. We ate at Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 around 8:30p.m. This restaurant seems to be part bar and part eatery. While they don’t serve Pepsi, the Coke’s come in Pepsi glasses. The grounds were clean; the restrooms were clean, but the dining room needed a thorough sweeping. The cleanliness of the restaurant gets an 8 out of 10. The taste of the food was good, but not the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I would rate the food flavor a 9 out of 10. The value of the food versus the cost was a different story. We ordered fried gator and hush puppies as an appetizer. I had the shrimp po boy, my wife had a small bowl of gumbo with a boudin ball and my two year old had some chicken nuggets. The bill came to $55.99. I thought it was EXTREMELY expensive for what we ordered. The value of the food versus the cost gets a 6 out of 10. All totaled, that’s a 23 out of 30 = 23/30 = 76.6% = C. I do not plan on returning due to the cost for fried seafood, fries, and some Coke’s.
The food is like all the others and I had no problem with that. There was a live band playing and we enjoyed the music. However, the server,Cheyanne, was not good at all. We waited forever and when we got our food and needed refills on drinks we had to ask her. Then she proceeded to slam my water down and walk off like it was normal. I decided not to cause a scene and leave after eating. We will not be going back to this one but will go to others. All it takes is one person to put a bad taste in your mouth and they lose out because I’ll still spend my money and eat at other places.
Been going here for years. I usually get the Trio Tacos with the usual blackened fish on corn, fried shrimp on corn, and roast beef on flour tortilla. On the menu it says comes with slaw, cheese, and jalapeño ranch sauce. The waitress asked how I wanted it grilled, blackened, or fried. So I got the same think I always get, never had a problem. The food came out and there was no cheese on the tacos so I showed her and asked for cheese. Keep in mind they already raised the prices since I last went there about a year ago. Got the check and they charged me for the cheese and blackened option. An extra $2.50. So I asked the waitress about it and told them I've never been up-charged for this before and showed her that it shows what it comes with on the menu. She acted dumb and said she didn't know much about it and then walked off. I said so it does come with all this and she said yes but still up-charged me without doing anything about it. Seems like they need better management and work on corporate greed like many businesses are doing today. Will not be going back!
We come here often and normally have a great experience with both food and service, but this visit really missed the mark. Our server, Ashlynn, barely bussed our table throughout the meal, which made it difficult with our 1-year-old reaching for things at our already full table of four. When our food was delivered, there wasn’t much room to set the hot plates down, and when I tried to hand her the plates I had stacked, she didn’t respond until I asked again—her reply was, “I heard you,” which felt rude and dismissive. After that, she hardly checked back on us. As a previous server myself, I understand when things get busy, but this felt more like a lack of care. Definitely not the kind of service we’re used to here.
First time to eat here. We had to wait a bit longer than other people for our food. We had chicken fajitas. The food was good. I gave the service a rating of 3 stars due to bugs were on our table card. We brought it to our waitress attention. She got them off. We were disappointed that this was not brought to the managers attention by the waitress.

Visited this particular restaurant. Oysters were the size of a quarter. Never Again!!! Do yourself a favor and drive to Port Arthur Tia Juanita's. (My favorite)
There was a lot of commotion going on when we arrived. We were seated & given menus. And....that was pretty much it for the next 30-40 minutes! NO ONE came back to take our drink orders! NO ONE came back to take our food orders! FINALLY a manager came by & came up to my husband wen she recognized him from frequenting the place. The chicken was dry when we finally got our food. I was NOT impressed! The head cook made me another serving of chicken that was better seasoned & had a better cook on it. We finally did get the extra veggies we ordered.
