As a long time local resident and area expert, I truly appreciate the fantastic dining options we have nearby and Aji Sushi & Teppan in Winter Garden remains one of the standouts. This upscale, family-friendly restaurant offers great service, beautiful presentation, and consistently delicious food. On my recent visit, the Lychee Mojito was refreshing and picture perfect. The Cheese Wontons and the Caribbean Sunrise Roll were so delicious that I actually forgot to take a picture of them but I highly recommend ordering both! And to end the night, the Tempura Ice Cream dessert was the star: light, warm, and finished with just the right touch of chocolate drizzle. If you’re looking for quality, flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere here in Winter Garden, this place is a must try.

Amazing place, the food is delicious. We’ve been coming to this place for over two years now, and every time it gets better.

Food was fresh and tasty. I didn't like that the server used "we" and "us" as if she was going to sit down and dine with us. ("Can I get us some appetizers?") Miso soup and salad are amazing starters and we shared a 22 piece sashimi that had a beautiful presentation.

Food and staff was great. I ordered pick-up sushi rolls with real crabmeat along with some shrimp fried rice. I'd definitely order again.

This place should have a five star rating! This place even beat our favorite sushi spot. Top quality sushi and big portions. We are sushi snobs and we were amazed at how good it was! Also they made some of my rolls without rice for those who are doing keto or low carb. We had the yellowtail firecracker, rainbow roll, valentine roll and the sushi deluxe. Was phenomenal!

Last night, our family of 8 had a birthday celebration for our child. Previously, we’ve dined at Kobe and Benihana Japanese restaurants in Orlando. However, our family has been coming to Aji Japanese Restaurant for over 10 years to eat and celebrate birthdays. It was truly a wonderful experience having one of the master hibachi chefs cook for us. From the fried rice, noodles, veggies, chicken, filet, and all the other dishes—everything Chef Randy made was absolutely delicious. We’ve never experienced food like that in our entire lives—10/10 for the food. Randy gave a great show. He talked very humorously 😄 and was extremely friendly, keeping us laughing the whole meal. He constantly checked in on our table to see if we needed anything else. Jenny, our server, also did an excellent job. After Randy cooked for our family, we were extremely happy. I noticed the restaurant got really busy with many customers, yet Randy still gave us a fire show that was truly amazing. We love you, Randy. You are always a 5-star ⭐️ hibachi chef in America. Next time we come back, we’ll definitely request you to cook for us again.

The food here is delicious! I've been here several times and love coming here. Never had a bad experience other than maybe a slowish waitress but it wasn't terrible. Presentation is beautiful, the sushi rolls are big, and the sashimi fish slices are generous. They have a great menu of elevated dishes from just your run-of-the-mill hibachi place down the road. Also have a lot of seating in the dining room as well as the hibachi table. Prices are a bit higher but the quality is worth it. I posted a photo of their spicy tuna crispy rice.

Decided to come here for a quick bite and skip the fast food sushi. The spicy tuna roll and edamame app was a good amount for me. And for dessert the ice cream came in a nice martini glass. Server was sweet and I couldn’t expect better.

The service here is fantastic! I was looking for a place to host a large group and I was able to book the tables for hibachi on the same day. The manager(could be the owner) made sure to add enough seats and had everything ready upon our arrival. The chefs were so fun and engaging, the kids and adults alike enjoyed the entire show! The entire staff was extremely kind and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to any friends or family looking to have a fun night out or just looking for some good sushi or hibachi. Thank you again to the entire staff, hostess and manager for making my night so special and wonderful!

I ordered a couple of sushi rolls and the tempura fried white rice with spicy tuna. Enjoyed it all very much. I’ve never come across a tempura fried white rice before so that felt pretty innovative to me and it was yummy! I’d like to go back and try the teppan experience. It smelt so good in the restaurant the whole time.

Simply OUTSTANDING!!!! The best sushi ever!!! If you are looking for some sushi then go here!!! The food was the best. Get the fried dumplings and wontons for appetizers. I had the chicken roll, spicy tuna, and I don't remember what the other 3 were but they were great! The service was great!! Tyler was an awesome server. I saw some of the other reviews that service was bad...not saying that you didn't during your service but Tyler was the best!!! Planning another visit back very soon!!!!

Aji Sushi is a fantastic spot with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food! I was greeted warmly upon arrival, and the service was exceptional. It was my first time here tonight. The filet mignon & chicken was so flavorful, chef and servers accommodating and helpful, and the ambiance was fun. You can see in the photo there is mask & gloves on the chef, as well as a plexiglass partition between parties at the grill. They did remind us that masks are expected if you are getting up from the table, but when you are sitting and eating/drinking, it may come off. My personal standard for a hibachi restaurant is leaving my mask on until food is in front of me, and the chef has left the grill, just to respect the less-than-6' social distance between the chef and I. I also make sure to use a straw during this time to slip under my mask to drink without taking it off. Excellent experience! Highly recommend this establishment!

I went around 5pm on a Wednesday. I ordered a few drinks and a crème brûlée. Everything came out very fast and good. Went in for dinner around 7pm on a Tuesday and were immediately seated. Chose the dining room as our option and our experience was really great. Our server, Henry was spot on with his service and didn't miss a beat. Food was very good, a mix of sushi and Filet Mignon all came out excellent. Filet was ordered medium and it was cooked perfectly medium. Finished off with creme brûlée which was a perfect sweet ending to an already great meal. Will definitely be back!

I've been to Aji Sushi several times in the last year. We enjoy their atmosphere and friendly staff. In our previous dining experience, we had Michelle as our server. She was very friendly and helpful with the sushi options. We were advised they keep a master list of past sushi options not on the menu, which was a bonus because we could try a past sushi roll option. Ask your server; they can assist you with additional sushi roll options outside the menu. During this visit, we tried the Harumaki, an oriental vegetable egg roll. Very good and lightly breaded even though it was fried. We have yet to try their hibachi, but everyone enjoys it while dining. We also tried a very reasonable portion of their vegetable Yakisoba, a stir-fried egg noodle with vegetables. We recommend their FIFA Fever sushi roll and T-Rex roll. I've posted a picture for your viewing delight. The only downside we've had is not with the food and service. But the lighting in the restaurant is a bit dim, and the parking depending on the time of day in Winter Garden Village can be tricky to maneuver around finding a place to park. A must-try! Two Thumbs up!

Very delicious food, both hibachi and sushi style. Good deals based on the prices you pay, especially for such fresh fish. The fan favorites in our party were the Peach Sangria, the Tuna Kobayashi, and the Coconut Chicken and Shrimp. This place is a return location for us, we keep coming back for the food, atmosphere, and impeccable service that we get everytime.

The sushi, chefs (sushi and hibachi), food quality, and general atmosphere are great. The wait staff is mediocre at best, and the facility is showing signs of wear/lack of upkeep. They are also stingy with bathroom paper towel dispensers- it gives 1.5" at a time.(photo).... the gaskets are sagging from the hibachi area also (photos) I hope the owner keeps up with maintenance, stops skimping on hands towels in the bathroom, and the wait staff are more attentive (ex: You order sushi, ask for chopsticks with it, they don't give you any, take 5 to 10 min to come back, so you have to get up and ask the front bar for chopsticks. ) If those are fixed up, this place would be 5 stars, and worth the $50-100/person.... until then, it's just OK.

We sat at the bar and the service was decent, but we had to wait multiple times for the bartender to return and there were only 3 of us at the bar. Fortunately the rolls we had were very good, the serving size of the edamame was good and gyoza was tasty.

A fantastic upper scale sushi restaurant in the Winter Garden villages. Their rolls are fairly large and some even come as 10 pieces. Very tasty, and good quality. Chef Leo does a great job and is an asset to the establishment. The ambiance is hip, cozy, and very inviting. Time well spent.

We haven’t stopped by here in a while. Decided to check it out again since it’s in our local shopping center. The place is clean, kept up well and the food is good. They have a big menu and serve more than just rolls. The selection is nice, but the overall atmosphere is kind of blah. The only negative comment I would have to say is that.. Nobody was really excited.. just walking around.. it wasn’t even a busy night and service was a bit slow. Other than that, enjoyed my meal.

I purchased the Shrimp Yakisoba. Really good flavor. Portion size is the only thing I would critique. I felt like it was pretty small for a take out order. Can only dine in for hibachi, which was unfortunate for my family and I. Other than that, this is a good restaurant to try.

we went on a Tuesday without reservation, the site looked quite crowded at first glance we waited about 20 minutes for a table, the first one that was ready, we take a sit outside, the table moved a little, it wasn't very stable, I did not like waiting about 18 minutes for our waiter to make his first visit to our table, we even wanted to start with some drinks before ordering the dishes but we had to make the entire order, Two minutes after placing the order, our waiter returned with some salads from the house and apologizing because our food would take longer than normal. in general terms, the drinks were very tasty as was the food

While visiting family, we popped in for happy hour, only to find out, there's NO happy hour. Well we dined in and placed our order, our waitresss Zoey was sweet but not very knowledgeable on the the menu, but we made do our meals were tasty and presented well. We ordered , the Super Volcano, El Mariachi & Island Escape, and stir fry seafood udon noodles. We had a few cocktails and enjoyed our evening

Presentation is good, sushi dishes are made with fresh ingredients, overall nothing spectacular. The crispy honey chicken was not crispy but tender and is made with fresh chicken. Portions overall on the conservative side.

The food was good. My only complaint is that the fried rice had some extra crunchy pieces of rice. But, the first time we went, that wasn't the case.

S
Saucy Copper

The food is usually above par. I had the super volcano with scallops that had no flavor and the scallops w mayo sashimi that were inedible and absolutely horrendous. I do not recommend either of those. My friends had other rolls that were tasty, so maybe the scallops just had a bad day. The server was great and atmosphere chill.

K

Ordered sushi which some how didn’t mention tempura for one of my rolls, when I mentioned it to Valerie our server she did say they had to tell the manager that they needed to updated it. still got charged for an entire roll we had 2 pieces of. If it mentioned tempura it I would have not ordered because I don’t care for tempura.

Pricey and cold food. We tried them during lunch today and got chicken teriyaki. Chicken was cold and dark meat. Plain rice were also cold. The soup and salad were fine. Service was friendly however when I told my server about food being cold, he did not ask to fix it. A simple sorry is unacceptable. Seating is plenty and comfortable. Overall, I would not return here. There are tons of better Japanese dining options if you are willing to go little further out.

Best Japanese in Winter Garden. Service was perfect. Chef was entertaining. Star of the show was the food. The grilled food was so delicious. Chicken was tender and cooked through. Shrimp was huge. Salmon was seasoned perfectly. Steak was cooked perfectly. The veggies were crispy and fresh. My go to at any sushi spot is the salad and their volcano roll. The ginger dressing in the salad was fresh and tasty. The house soup was beef based. Delicious, but slightly oily..the mushrooms were fresh. The volcano roll was so delicate and the baked crab on top was heavenly. We also tried the Caribbean Sunshine and spicy shrimp tempura. I did not need any sauce for my food with the exception of sriracha. The hibachi grilled food was so delicious we forgot to take pictures. Highly highly recommended. Ample parking since it is located in a shopping plaza. Tons of nice stores to browse if you want to digest your dinner. Another win for Winter Garden. I had to drive 35 minutes to get there but it was worth it.

Felt like we were robbed lol paid $92 to be in and out around 25-30mins. Not bad in that way but….. Service was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere, really didn’t feel like a traditional hibachi. Super dark and not lively. Chef didn’t do any tricks or was very interactive with us. Food was OK. I got a special (beef, chicken and shrimp) and my wife got another (double beef). Beef wasn’t the best, had an off taste. Chicken was OK and shrimp were bland. Best things were the rice, noodles and vegetables. Oooh and the white sauce.

First time coming here after some shopping. After seeing a 4-star review we thought we would check it out. Firstly, the stars are not an indication of our server, Korina. who did a great job! We ordered basic sushi rolls, kids shrimp tempura and pick 2 dinner. We ordered the kalbi with Emperor sushi rolls for $23.99 special. Sushi and shrimp tempura were average. Some of the salmon pieces in the Emperor roll did not taste very fresh. But for the amount of food or lack thereof for the price is waaay overpriced. We were served 2 types of meat, kalbi on the bottom and another type disguised as kalbi put on top of the actual kalbi. We told our server as soon as we tasted the difference. She was very apologetic but it wasn’t her fault. She asked the chef but chef said it was all kalbi. We decided to let it go. Until about 15 minutes later, a manager comes to our table and said that she was there when chef was preparing it and it was indeed kalbi. We asked her to again take a look at the 2 meats where it was clearly visible that it was a different look and texture. And then proceeded to tell us that “next time” we should say something right away so she could have gotten us another one and then just walked away. No apology or anything. Umm..we did tell the server immediately after we tasted the difference and you didn’t come until 15 minutes later. We weren’t expecting anyone to do anything about it. And there will NOT be a “next time!” You, as a manager need to do BETTER!! I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are much better sushi around like Gochi which has excellent food and service!!

We ordered their combination meal for $23.99 each. The combination included a a small portion of an entree, rice, soup, salad and small portion of sushi. The soup was very salty, lukewarm, and not edible. The salad was average with some lettuce and ginger dressing. The chicken teriyaki entree was horrific. It was cold, no flavor, it just sat in the corner of the plate with some sauce on it. The white sticky rice was perfectly positioned in a corner and it did not move. The sushi roll was tough but I did like that they had differ t vegetables to what I’m used to. The beef dish was tough but flavorful and like warm. Our server was very nice. The best part of the meal was the tempura vegetables!

I’ve got to Aji at least a dozen times, and 85% of the time the rolls come with things that are not listed on the menu. I cannot handle spice well and I’ve gotten rolls doused in spicy mayo or the fish itself is spicy when not listed that way. It’s frustrating to order food or go out to eat, thinking you’re getting one thing and then and you can’t eat it. Maybe update your menus or just make the food as listed so people know what they’re getting! The only reason I’m not giving less stars is because when it’s right it actually is good sushi, and the staff is super great. But unfortunately will not be going back.

Good food, bad service. The hostess’s are young girls who are very rude and apathetic. The waiters are not much better. There is better sushi with better service elsewhere.

Today on Mother’s Day had the worse food ever . My husband and I ordered fillet and it tasted like liver , meaning that meat not fresh or properly stored in the right temperature. It was so bad . Then I complained to the server and she spoke to the manager And she said that the meat was fresh and good quality . The server asked if we want something else, so we said ok. We ordered ny strips and it was alright . The chef was rushing to get it done. When we got home every one had bad stomach ache . Unpleasant afternoon . My son that was at work , had to leave early due to stomach situation . Never again .

Aji has been our “go to” for teppanyaki for several years, but our most recent experience was extremely disappointing. Six of us spent $400 for a lackluster cooking performance (the chef was just going through the motions with zero enthusiasm) and the server had too many tables to be attentive. The food was bland. We may come back to Aji for sushi, but the teppanyaki is way too expensive for meh.

We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant for a long time and usually enjoy our visits, but unfortunately our recent experience left us very disappointed. We ordered shrimp tempura sushi rolls that came out with very little—if any—shrimp in them. Since we come here often and trust the quality, we started eating and only realized halfway through that the rolls were basically just rice and toppings with no shrimp. When we politely brought this to the manager’s attention, the response we received was dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any kind of resolution, the manager made us feel like we were at fault for mentioning it after eating part of the rolls. We completely understand policies about food that has already been partially eaten, but the way the concern was handled showed very poor customer service. It’s disappointing, especially as regulars, to be treated this way. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because customer service matters just as much as the food.

First thing is you can not request to rchange the veggies. You must get them all. Some people don’t like certain things and don’t want them cooked with ones they don’t like. For the price on that higher end for this type of food You should be able to make changes. Second thing. Food had no flavor. Very bland. The service was great and the place was nice and clean. The food needs major improvement. Price was on the high end. Portions were good size.

Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied in my take out experience last night at Aji Sushi Teppan. We decided to order take out to take home after a long trip. Once we arrive home we were surprised to not only get the wrong roll but no soy sauce , no chop sticks and no napkins. Come on guys. The bare minimum is to at least have this. This is how the packaging looked and how we received it. Nothing more.

The food was average, and the wait time was much longer than expected (over 20 minutes for our rolls). The ikura nigiris, unfortunately, were not good, to the point where I couldn’t finish them. We also had an issue with the bill, as we were charged for an extra combo we didn’t order. If you don’t mind slow service and okay-ish food, it might work for you, but personally I would skip it.

Very disappointed. The sushi was greasy and didn’t taste good, it was almost impossible to eat. I ordered two types of rolls, and both were disappointing. Instead of scallops, there was mostly mayonnaise, and the crab salad was also greasy and not how it used to be. The quality did not justify the price, it’s extremely overpriced. I couldn’t even finish my meal. I ended up paying full price for food that wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t come back.

the restaurant service was good. There were only a few ppl there. The windows are black so the place. Looked closed. The food was over priced. It was mediocre the eel was cut so thick my husband almost choked on a bone. The bathroom was horrendous and the floors were so sticky I sprayed my feet with lysol before I got on my car. Gnarly bathroom

It was really a bad time. We had this older guy and he was not interested/ engaged. The food was not cooked right and he put the lobster shell on the table and it almost fell in the food. He did not squirt the drinks into our mouths , he didn't make the choo choo train with the onions, he didn't make the little creature with the eggs that does the I like to move it move it dance , and he didn't chop the zucchini and toss it into people's mouths. The drinks are pretty good, but the food was okay. The rice was a little burnt and a really salty, the meat and shellfish were kind of not cooked right. And he added too much butter and a lot of sauce. But the other workers were respectful.

Ají Sushi receives a 1-star review primarily due to poor customer service, especially from the manager, Courtney. During our interaction, she was noticeably unprofessional and dismissive—walking away mid-conversation, completely ignoring our concerns. When I asked for her to return and address the issue, she outright denied ever walking away, which only added to the frustration. Her lack of accountability and basic courtesy made it clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority at this establishment.

I’m disappointed in the management for their treatment of my family. We had asked for a manager to ask about a charge. She came to us and when we were asking her about the charge she said no she can’t do anything and then she decided to walk away while we were in the middle of a sentence. It was inconsiderate of her to do that. It felt like she did not care about what we were saying and didn’t want to help us. It felt like she didn’t care to keep our business. Unfortunately, now you have lost our family’s business.

D
David Marshall

Got wrong order. No apology. No consideration for ruining my Saturday evening. I've spent several thousand dollars here this year. You've lost my business.

B
Brett Scanlon

The service was horrible. But not the waitress. After screwing up our order a couple times. The manager actually blamed the waitress and was so rude to me and my wife. Never have I seen a manager be so rude and blame everyone except herself. Do not recommend until manager Selena is removed.

A
Amina Siddiqui

To start off, when we came here we were served bad eel, thankfully we weren’t charged for the dish but they charged us for a soup and salad we weren’t aware that came with the dish, if we knew it did, we wouldent have gotten it because, when the bowl was taken off the check we had to pay full price for both the soup and the salad. Courtney, the manager was extremely rude to us, she walked away mid conversation and when we confronted her about it she completely denied and “thought the conversation was over” she showed no sense of sympathy for our bad meal and the fact of what she did. We will not be giving this place business. This is also not the first time this has happened it happened a few years ago aswell. Servers are very nice though loved her.

I ordered sushi and vegetarian sushi, but they sent everything mixed together in two trays. They didn’t bother to separate the vegetarian pieces from the ones with fish. When I called to complain, the person who answered gave me no solution, didn’t apologize, blamed DoorDash, and was rude on top of that. Very disappointing experience.

Hibachi Chef was Horrible! Rice salted and undercooked, steak over cooked, no choo choo or volcano. Chef didn’t interact with table. I ordered steak and chicken and the shell of the lobster the chef threw on the table right by my place. Hot and no air flow at all. Very upsetting.

S
Saarah Siddiqui

The service was lovely, the staff did it right, They greeted with smiles, stayed cheerful and bright. But then came the manager, storming on through, With an attitude foul, and a cold-hearted view. Her name is Courtney—remember it well, She runs things with ego and makes it pure hell. She snaps without reason, she's curt and she's loud, A dark little cloud in an otherwise proud crowd. It's sad when good workers are led by a fake, Who cares more for power than the service they make. If management mattered as much as the meal, They’d find someone better—someone who feels. So cheers to the team, but beware of the glare, From Courtney the manager—you'll wish she’s not there.

I will never eat here again.!! We ate at a hibachi table, and I ordered the steak & chicken combo. The 1st sign of knowing I was the food. The steak had absolutely no flavor at all, I think the teriyaki chicken was cooked with soy sauce instead because it was so salty it couldn't be eaten, the veggies were over cooked because they became mushy, and when I asked for more yum yum (white) sauce just to give my rice some flavor, the cook took the bottle of yum yum sauce, and squirted it on top of my entire plate of food with an attitude. But the main thing that took the cake was the cockroaches that crawled across the table as we started eating. When I brought it to the cooks attention all he did was not get off with his hand onto the floor and went back to what he was doing, as if this was a common thing there and not a big deal. As I was getting up to go see a manager, the family sitting across from us yelled oh my God there is a cockroach on our table, just as the little girl said look there are more. When I went to the manager the only thing they did was say I am sorry and offered me a piece of free cake. I said no thank you to the cake, I do not want my dinner, I had only taken maybe 4 bites of my food. They agreed, but after what I had gone through in the restaurant they had the balls to still charge me for the soup and salad that came with my combo meal. I should have just walked out but I think Monday morning I will be making a phone call to the health department

We’re normally don’t review places, but it was sooooo bad that you all need to be warned. My husband even asked for a manager and nobody even came by. We have been to AJI previously and had average/good experiences. Went recently and promise we will never be back again. The food was the lowest quality we’ve ever had. Rice was literally mush, like oatmeal. The filet tasted like it had been thawed and frozen several times. Chicken was dry and chewy. White sauce was watered down and disgusting A couple of us had been at city walk prior and weren’t very hungry. We asked if we could just share with the kids (who were ordering the adult $35-40 entrees) and they said it’s an up charge of $11. We even had somebody who is allergic to gluten and they even charged extra to spray gluten free spray. Absolutely crazy for a Bill over $250. But quality was worse than Taco Bell. Be warned. It’s nasty! Even the kids who asked to go there said it was disgustingly. We even threw out all of the left overs it was so gross!!! Deserves-5!

My gf took me for bf day after I had a friend recommended me the spot went there to eat the and food was horrible dude that cooking the food looked like he was in a rush rice was still hard noodles had no flavor and cooker put garlic for like a whole week really disappointed and still left a small tip and server thought it was funny on my way out .

Food is usually good but service is always horrible!! Today was the odd day when the food and the service was awful. I ordered the Aloha roll (one of my normals) and when it came out I noticed that there wasn't any cream cheese inside. Benny pointed out a pencil top of cream cheese and said that it was in there and walked away. Blown away by the lack of guest service given. I'll drive down to the Swan and Dolphin and go to Komono's from now on!

Just had dinner there. Ordered a dinner combo with teriyaki beef and shrimp tempura. The food took very very long to come. And we weren’t even given drinks. So after waiting we finally set to find our server just to take our food To go, but were told the food was ready. Well the food was not worth the wait. The beef was cold and dry the rice was not dry and kinda hard, it didn’t even move. The miso soup was just salty water. The shrimp tempura was cold and very oily and just gross. Our waitress didn’t pay attention to us and didn’t even bring out one of our dishes, and it took long to even get the check to leave. This was a waste of time and money. Would never go there again.

Over the past 15 years, I've eaten here three times. I'm done. Never again. The first time/experience, they were newly opened. I figured they just had to get the bugs worked out, and it would get better. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. The second time/experience, the chef was hating his job and made sure everyone knew it. Food sucked, experience sucked, and the manager did not care. They had been open about a year. I stayed away from the place for many years since, until this last time/experience. I had hoped things had changed in the last decade or so. No dice. Watch out for the "service" charge. Twenty percent added to the bill, party of five. I will never be back. And I will tell everyone.

Sat down at 5:52. Ordered off happy hour 4-6 at exactly 5:59 on the dot and I guess the waitress put the order in at 6:01 so whenever the check came out it didn't say happy hour so I asked to get it changed and the manager, Courtney, came over saying she can't change it and after I politely said I don't want to pay for what I didn't order she said she was calling the cops on me. Keep in mind this is over a $7 order... then she came back with the roll on happy hour on the check and threw it on the table and said pay, leave and don't come back. Never had a manager act like that before but okay? Wasn't going to come back anyways. Also my friend got a spicy tuna roll and sent it back because it tasted like bad fish. Kind of surprised they still act like this after how bad their reviews are and it's a known thing in the town no one likes aji anymore. Hadn't been there in like 3 years so glad I have closure on how I'll never go again.

I like to give places the benefit of doubt, but there is no doubt in my mind that Publix sushi is infinitely better than this place. I am literally sitting here right now, watching SIX sushi “chefs” pound out sushi only marginally better than the garbage sushi one would get at some all you can eat buffet joint. It’s… humblingly sad. Yes, that’s a new word. Our opener was spicy garlic edamame, which was a spectacularly odd failure, because it was over cooked mush AND cold… All while masked with an over powering melange of garlic powder and spicy seasoning. The hot sake was tepid at best, and room temperature by the time I finished my 8oz carafe. However, as a positive, my wife’s Kirin Light WAS cold, and her glass was clean - plus one for that, I guess? The rice in all of our nigiri/sushi was dry - like desiccated. The fish was bland to the point of nonexistent flavor or texture. The mayo sauce, far from being used as an accoutrement, was slathered on anything that it came with - imagine tuna salad, except on NyQuil and acid, with a better fish after taste. Also, I never was offered (nor received) the miso soup and salad that came with my “Sashimi & Sushi Deluxe”. This was probably to my benefit, because my disappointment meter was already pegged at “Kim Kardashian is an accepted influencer of todays modern western society”, and could not possibly accept more disappointing inputs. I guess, in the world of Winter Garden haute cuisine, this place is socially acceptable. But in the real world, this restaurant is a utter and complete bomb. If you are looking for good - or even marginal - sushi, then anywhere else but here would be a winner… I guess $100.00 worth of sushi just doesn’t get one very far anymore. At least my dogs will have something to snack on tonight. Even though they lick their own heinies, I’m sure they’ll be disappointed too.

What a complete disappointment. Have come to this location for Hibachi many times, and loved it. Recently it’s clear they are swapping things out for cheaper options. The steak was almost inedible.

Horrible this ‘used’ to be a favorite. No longer. Horrible management. Went there tonight for a carry out 2 rolls and fried rice waited over an hour and had to remind them about our order. This is why I HATE leaving a tip on to go orders. I left 20% and service was awful. Had to remind them twice and finally got our food. I told the manager ‘you dropped the ball tonight’ and she could’ve cared less. Her reply was ‘you ordered a roll too’ again two orders of fried rice and a roll. It took over an hour and left a $15 tip. Manger needs to care more for customers and we won’t be back. You can tell they also do t care about their customers not one review they replied to. Bad customer service

Our first time eating here. It was truly amazing. We were glad to have taken the chance. The service was also excellent.well tonight was a big disappointment! I wish I could take back my 5 star rating. My husband made reservations for the grill for my 60th birthday. Oh my, let me count the ways this all went wrong. First off the floor was so slick that I had to rely on the two men that were with me to get me to the table. Being an amputee it was so unsafe that I couldn’t hold a grip to the floor whatsoever. Well then the rice was cooked first and put on the plate and the proteins then were put down, then vegetables, then nobles. Th rice was first put on the plates as everyone ordered a different meat. The rice got cold as the meats cooked one by one and no one had a finished meal at the same time. My husband got up and ask for a manager and a woman who came started arguing as I told her to stop as children were across from us. Then the so called chef dumped nobles all over my salmon and trashed what I was trying to make of my meal as the vegetables were still coming. Thank you for upsetting my 60th birthday and making as seen in front of someone’s children. Shame on you! $160.00. For four meals left uneaten. God will get you for that. Saying he only has two hands. Learn how to cook! An update for today as the floors were so slick I have injured my back and leg being an amputee. The all saw me unable to walk safely and just said, take your time. Beware

Disappointed by how a safety issue involving my child was handled. While dining here, a splash of hot grease hit my young daughter’s arm as the hibachi chef was placing food on her plate. She immediately reacted in pain. The chef did apologize, which we appreciated, but my concern was ensuring her injury didn’t worsen and that we had proper documentation in case medical attention was needed later. I calmly asked for an incident report or a brief written statement confirming that if her burn developed or required a doctor visit, the restaurant would cover any associated costs. I wasn’t demanding anything unreasonable — just basic accountability. Unfortunately, management refused to provide anything in writing. I recorded the conversation for my own documentation. After watching it back, I was shocked at how passive-aggressive and dismissive the manager, Salina, became—especially when I asked her to simply acknowledge on video recording that they would cover medical expenses if needed. Her tone shifted, and her attitude was unprofessional and increasingly rude, which only added to an already stressful situation involving my child. This wasn’t about creating a scene. It was about making sure my daughter’s health was taken seriously and that the business was willing to stand by their verbal assurances. Sadly, we were left with no peace of mind and no formal acknowledgment — just a “trust us” approach that’s unacceptable when it comes to a child’s injury. We won’t be returning, and I hope management reconsiders how they handle incidents like this. Families deserve better — not just in safety, but in how they’re treated when something goes wrong. Wouldn't recommend coming here.

The new normal…paying more for less. This is a spicy tuna roll. Back when this was a quality restaurant these use to be $5 and double the size. Now $12 and the size of a penny. What a joke.

It is sad that this place is not what it used to be. We’ve noticed that things changed for the past several times we came here, but today I had the worst experience ever. The worst is that the manager cannot handle the situations nicely. Long story short - please save time and energy for other much better restaurants with pleasant people.

Food quality has gone way downhill. My family has been ordering takeout from Aji for the last few years since moving to winter garden. Never again. After making us wait for over 30 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, once we get home my children wouldn’t eat their miso soup which they normally love. I try some and it was essentially water. I tried my beef yakisoba which to my surprise was inedible rubber. It used to be amazing, but we noticed the quality has dropped off the last few months. I never call restaurants to complain, but felt like management needed the feedback given the food quality has never been this bad. In speaking to the manager, she asked that i bring back the food for inspection and was extremely defensive. They can keep the $10 voucher on a future meal offered to “keep me happy”, my family of 6 will not be returning.

Spent $400 on food for the dogs. Everything only tastes was garlic. How bad is it when tjere is a HUGE bottle of soy sauce on the table because nothing had any taste except garlic. Not even Japenese noodles they were Ronzoni vermicelli. Give me a break I spoke to manager who was absolutely useless. This place was good, last time horrible but gave it another try. It was the last straw. No one ate ot was obvious. I don't mind spending the money on good food but this was blan spaghetti and tasteless garbage. Never again. Save your money.

The food was terrible. I ordered tempura shrimp and vegetable appetizer and there was so much grease. You could just squeeze the stuff and have grease dripping out. They did give me half off of my appetizer which of course I couldn't eat the whole thing anyways. Disappointing that they only gave me half off because you could see the puddles of grease. The food was sitting in on the plate . whatever. And I also ordered the teriyaki chicken with the vegetables and white rice and the teriyaki chicken was warm. Lots of pepper and not much flavor other than that. Strange flavor for the sauce over the chicken. Some of the chicken looked pink, undercooked. The rice was very, very dry, very, very dry and lukewarm. The vegetables had some decent flavor, but again, were only lukewarm. The server was sweet but the food was absolutely awful and I will not be back
