Excellent steak fajitas and Toscana de ceviche.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem for Fresh, Flavor-Packed Mariscos! Las Islitas Ostionería is hands-down one of the best spots around for authentic Mexican seafood. If you're a fan of mariscos done right — bold, fresh, and loaded with flavor — this place should be at the top of your list. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with a strong local feel that makes you feel like you’re in on a delicious secret. The décor has a coastal charm, with nautical touches that match the seafood-heavy menu. It’s perfect for a laid-back lunch, family dinner, or weekend seafood feast. Now, the food — absolutely stellar. I ordered the aguachile verde, tostadas de ceviche de camarón, and the molcajete mixto, and each dish blew me away. The aguachile had just the right amount of heat, with super fresh shrimp and crisp cucumber slices soaking in a tangy, spicy marinade. The ceviche tostadas were packed high with flavor and had that ideal balance of lime, onion, and seafood. The molcajete came sizzling hot and loaded with shrimp, octopus, and other seafood treasures — it’s a must-try if you’re really hungry or sharing with someone. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. Service was quick, and everything came out fresh. I also appreciated how clean and organized the place was, which is always a big plus when it comes to seafood spots. Prices are more than fair for the portion sizes and freshness. You definitely get quality here — both in ingredients and preparation. Whether you're a mariscos veteran or trying Mexican seafood for the first time, Las Islitas delivers a memorable, flavor-packed experience. Highly recommend it if you’re craving seafood with serious flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Stumbled in here to give it a go. Price wise, it is high but makes sense for a quality place with seafood. I had basic stuff just to try it, and i was not disappointed. I tried the Empanadas with shrimp and cheese. Nom! I also had the fish tacos. Mind you, these are starters, so there's not much to bat an eyelash at appeal wise, but it was still good none the less. For me, funny enough, the thing i could not have enough of was the ceviche! I had to double take it with this one. I thought it was salsa, and then i was like, "This is amazing. What is this? "(Never had it like just freely served like salsa. Ps they sell it by the pound) My waiter told me it was the ceviche. Seems very family friendly, if you like kareoke they've got it! Loved the atmosphere. The doc in Star (4/5) for Service mostly comes from i wasn't a party and was by myself kinda felt like as a solo roller i got forgotten a few times. No one told me i had to go upfront to pay for like 10 mins 😬. But honestly, it was a blessing cause i was so full, lol. Was waiting at the table like normal. Will definitely come back here. Totally recommend! But ima bring my "wallet" next time😅. 🤘🏻
Absolute FIRE ! This place has the freshest oysters and seafood in general. They're awlways so kind too! The food is dynamite! If you don't go in and spend 100.00 per person? You ain't eating right! MONEY WORTH SPENDING!
This is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in years. The ceviche was delicious, the shrimp and cheese empanadas were fantastic and the carne asada burrito was the best I've had in a long time. Our waiter was friendly and took care of us even though the restaurant was slammed at 3:30 in the afternoon. If I ever travel through the area again I will definitely be back. My only complaint was the mariachi music was a bit to loud for me. If you like real Mexican food this is the place to go.👍👍👍👍👍
Great mariscos here. The husband was extremely impressed. Complimentary ceviche came with the tortilla chips and it was wonderful. OMG the shrimp and cheese empanadas were amazing. You can tell they make them from scratch. The service is great. They were busy at 3:30pm so you know it's good. The place is big and the music is good and not too loud. The service was great. UPDATE: Visited a 2nd time. The shrimp burrito was excellent 👌
Brought my mother and the whole family here for Mothers Day. This restaurant is one of the best place's I've been to eat seafood. The food is on point and the atmosphere is so alive. They have two flat screens here and the waiters were kind enough to change it to the game to watch one of the local teams play. It gets pretty busy on the weekends so I do suggest to call ahead and reserve tables. The only thing I will mention also is that it would of been better if they had a bigger selection of domestic and imported beers and sell buckets of them as well. Either than that I highly recommend it here.
My first time at this place and it was very good food is ok depending on what you ordered if you like seafood 😋 Whatever I ordered it was good on the weekends this place is full that's what my friend told me so I do recommend this place 😊
They took long to just get us our sodas or ask what we wnated to drink then when we got our plates my sister got a roach leg in one of the plates then I went into bathroom to use the restroom and the moment I pulled the toilet paper a roach started to crawl on my hand very disturbing moment food was good but their flavors aren't consistent if u go offten u can taste the difference In their seasonings and flavors the roach thing kinda did it for me I won't be going back made me wana puke all my food out.
The first time was exceptional, 2nd and 3rd not so much. Shrimp ceviche was completely raw, whole and not deveined, with no acid time or flavor. If you need to have a conversation this might not be the right place. Music here is loud.
We were the very first clients of the day. We were served burnt Crab legs in the Caldo de 7 Mares. They flipped over Crab legs to try and hide the fact how burnt they were. Although not the waitress fault however she didn't take the initiative to fix. This is an inside restaurant, I wasnt expecting to have to deal with flies. We are foodies the cost is no big deal.. The bill came to 71.00 for 2 caldos, 1 shrimp pasta, and a 1 clamato preparado, 3 waters. When ask if a courtesy discount was applied to the bill for the burnt food we were told no, again no initiative taken to take care of your customers. At this point my husband was ready to leave. Bill paid in full and waitress received a $9 tip. Take care of your customers and pride in what you serve. We won't be returning.
We have been wanting to go here for ages. I wish we never did. They don't disclose the margaritas don't have tequila. We complained twice about how sweet they were. We were told repeatedly that they ran out of tequila, which made no sense, but apparently it's true. Don't order a margarita. They are the absolute worst ever! I asked for sour cream and guacamole when I ordered my fajitas. They came 20 minutes after I finished eating. The shrimp was so tiny and dry. You could play ping pong with them. Awful. I asked for a manager. She was sweet, and completely full of excuses for what happened. After we spoke with her, we still had to request our bill multiple times so we could pay and escape. The food was over cooked, over priced, the service was terrible. Save yourself the time and money. Awful.
I asked for no beans . Xtra rice . They brought me the one serving of rice . She said it would be more for extra? Extra what?
And I come here several times over the years, I too love to go cool place to go and celebrate occasions with my family. The last time we went, it was me. My son and my husband like five o'clock, was empty inside, sat down, we took our orders waiting for our food finally got our food and the waitress left and never came back. Never came back to check on our drinks. Never came back to see how we liked your food had to get up and get our own drinks had to get up and ask for tortillas because I could not find the waitress
Served raw (uncured) shrimp ceviche after waiting over 15 minutes. Ordered side salad for $4 and got a handful of iceberg lettuce with slices of tomato and a piece of cucumber, no dressing choice apart from thousand island. To say I was disappointed after seeing many other positive reviews is putting it lightly. Clearly a local cult favorite with no merit.
I’ve been a customer for over 15 years. There is a dish I ALWAYS get and I’ve never had a problem with the service or food. Today I had the worst experience, server was very rude asked for something and she will take for ever to bring (spoon & cookies) things that are easy to bring. The food was also not what I expected!!! After I returned the plate she did not come back to ask if we needed something else!
I was very disappointed with my order. I asked for a cocktail con todo including pulpo and my order was to go. They charged me almost $20 added the least amount of toppings, no Clamato, no ketchup, no nothing n only shrimp. It was the most plain cocktail I’ve ever had at a ridiculous price. Yes if u eat in it’s a nice party scene but the food is definitely over priced and not that great. Don’t recommend this place at all.
