Opinions de Oriole 9 Woodstock
I've ordered from this place a few times and everything is always delicious! Great food! Dining room is eloquent and staff is super friendly. One of my favorite Woodstock restaurants. I highly recommend! This time I got the trout tacos and they really exceeded my expectations! Nice big tacos and the fish is seasoned wonderfully! Anyone reading should definitely try them!
Amazing food! A cut above the usual. Flowers on each table and great coffee! Chai Latte was amazing with cinnamon on top
Yummy food and nice atmosphere, very popular place, great for families, lots of options for everyone. At the cold day hot apple cider serves the best. And... They have Gluten free sandwiches !
I've been there before. They expanded their menu. I like the fact that they offer dishes that are delicious but very hard to make. And it's yummy! Great drinks too. Nice people behind the scenes. When you go to Woodstock, this is a great pit stop to recharge your batteries.
Brunch at Oriole 9 was a treat. We were able to get a table for 5 without much trouble. Brunch was delicious, from the grilled Reuben to the smoked salmon benedict to the birria tostados. The fall mimosas were great, and we enjoyed a selection of pastries for the table. The service was friendly and efficient. We look forward to coming back next time we are in Woodstock!
Food was fresh and delicious. We did take-out (the ceviche and burrata dishes) and it was so good. The following day we had breakfast there and the homemade sausage patties were INCREDIBLE. A wonderful experience!
I'm not typically a breakfast person, but for some reason when I'm on vacation I need a huge breakfast. Wanted to try some places new on our weekend upstate. They had a breakfast burrito, a patio for the little dog, and gluten free toast option for the wife. Basically ticked all boxes, which is a rare find. Burrito was excellent, hella loaded, good beans, eggs were great, guacamole like whoa. Pico on the side was a little awkward, next time I'll just ask to slap thar stuff on it. And if you're only gonna have one got sauce on the table cholula is the right answer. Shorty got the goat cheese omelet, also real good. Standard issue but again with the gluten free toast!! Hell yeah! OJ, was delightful, patio was super cute. Totally would come again, after I try a few different places in town.
Another weekend away, another outstanding breakfast spot! (They also serve lunch!) A quick trip to Woodstock, NY over Easter weekend brought us to Oriole 9. A varied menu with great options- I had the corned beef hash and it was piping hot and made from scratch! Two perfectly cooked poached eggs- and it was delicious! Cozy atmosphere that is welcoming. Fun art on the walls, right in the downtown area of Woodstock. I’d love to go back to try their speciality cocktails, and other menu favorites.
Had a lunch here on a bustling cold November day in Woodstock after having hiked the Kaaterskill falls trail nearby. Restaurant was very busy, yet we were seated within about 10min. Service was super friendly and the 4 of us easily found choices on the menu that suited our taste. The food came out hot and very tasty. The fries got a lot of positive nods and so did the salads. Recommend.
Let’s start here - I AM A REAL PERSON, yup nothing fake. It would be easy and simple to say I was in Woodstock NY for three days and ate at the Oriole 9 twice, but hey it wouldn't be a real review. I'm not sure what is going on these days with some people who are eating out, but if you haven't noticed the pandemic has taken straight aim at restaurants - short staffed or staff having to pull double shifts so let’s cut some slack. Oh, and a reminder - yea Woodstock NY may be peace and love, but it is expensive everywhere you shop and eat. Now back to O9 service and food. Everybody at Oriole 9 was nice. Friendly. Helpful. Accommodating. Funny. Professional. All this with a smile by the waitresses and bus-persons. The food is simply great, which fills the place with people - and, ready? People talk... yup there you have it. This place is always packed for a reason - fresh food perfectly prepared and/or cooked, with a splash of inventiveness, and plenty of options. Entering around closing time, we were seated and waited on by Brook (two weeks and I still remember Brook). End of the day, double shift and she had the patience’s of an angel in getting us familiarize with the menu. Day one was freshly prepared salsa and guacamole, Classic Cheddar Burger lettuce tomato and onions, vegan-burger, fries, soy-milk latte and (I almost fainted!) Vietnamese Coffee - Forgetaboutit! The "guac" was a perfect blend of flavors - no over seasoning or too much lime/lemon. Both burgers were off the hook tasty, moist, and flavorful. the Fries were hot, lots of potato and a nice crust. The coffees were so delicious we ordered our seconds immediately. Day two was great coffee (see above), fresh and plentiful lox's and bagel, and "real" (yup there's that word again) corned beef hash. I love hash and I am always looking for something different and Oriole 9 delivered. Corned beef was cubed, eggs cooked to order, onions tender and the spices spot on. For the most part the cubes melted in your mouth, but an occasional fatty piece made chewing tough, but overall, the taste was off the hook. In planning for our next Woodstock NY trip, we will be heading immediately to Oriole 9, making sure it is a Friday Saturday or Sunday to see Brook!
Another fav place of locals and tourists. The coffee is as good as it gets in the Hudson Valley (large steam pressure machine...) The food is good, the atmosphere is low key, and generally sunny and well lit. The staff are competent, friendly and upbeat. The menu is not extensive but offers something for everyone, particularly when complimented by their specials. On occasion they are open for dinner (do your homework), but this is a pleasure for breakfast and lunch.
Bright and joyful ☀️ breakfast/brunch spot. They offer variety of food options: salads, sandwiches, eggs, tacos. They also serve different coffees (cappuccino etc). Although my latte was ok, it wasn’t of a great coffee shop quality. We were happy with our food choices however, as a person who likes flavorful food, i would add some spice/sauce to come with the home potato. I asked for a side sour cream and mixed in some hot sauce and created a baseline option that worked. The portions are of a good size and between the Nocoise salad and eggs benedict with home potatoes it was more than enough food for the two of us. The staff had a really great energy - positive, attentive, and kind, which always adds to the overall experience! *one suggestion for the owner/manager is to add granola/fruit/yogurt/nuts custom bowls to the great existing breakfast menu.
I visited on a Monday and it was busy! The food was tasty: I got the nicoise salad and the tuna was seared properly. It was filling and healthy after a morning of hiking. I also had the Bailey's cappuccino - also good. The servers are good but seem very busy. They overlooked bringing me water and instead brought water to two tables who arrived after me. It's definitely a more casual place. There was no check-in from servers during the meal (which is fine, just indicates the casual-ness and their busyness).
Enjoyed breakfast at Oriole 9, but wouldn't wait the 45+ min wait for the meal (we were told 20-25 min initially. They only take names in person, not over phone) Food was good enough. Eggs Benedict with $3 extra charge for some spinach seems a bit of a cash grab. Breakfast burrito also good. Lavender latte is sweet and not overpowering.
I went on a Saturday around two it seemed a bit busy but there were seats. There's some free parking in the back but when we got there it was all full. Overall I had a decent experience. The hostess was very nice and attentive. I ordered an eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, I was a bit disappointed that the eggs were over cooked. My partner ordered a tofu scramble... It was okay could use a bit more flavoring.
Ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and the English muffin was literally burnt to a crisp. All I could taste was the char from the burnt bread. I was going to tell the waiter but they never came over and asked how the meal was, didn’t even clear my plate before bringing the check. Not sure if they’re under new ownership but definitely not the quality we were used to!
The food here was okay, but there were several problems. My eggs came out completely cold, and I even found hair in my meal — which isn’t surprising considering the kitchen staff wasn’t wearing hairnets. The water that was brought to me had someone else’s food splattered on the glass, which was very unpleasant. The service and atmosphere were just as disappointing. The blonde girl working as the host was seating her friends ahead of the long line of people waiting at the door. The man who brought our food out was extremely rude and actually slammed the plates down in front of me and my family. The whole place was loud, chaotic, and uncomfortable. Workers were rushing around so frantically that they bumped into my chair and even knocked my coat onto the floor. Overall, this was a really bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend dining here
Food is ok but slow and rude service. I put my credit card down which has a sticker on it and the waiter asked in annoyed tone “what’s this?” as if I’m messing with them just to waste their time. No, I have far more important stuff to do and you need to trust your customers. And I don’t believe you would ask this question to other white customers. In every other places where I used this card, I either got compliments or they just politely asked if it can be tapped… Updated to owner’s reply: This is exactly the attitude I was referring to in my original review: unprofessional and rude. To be clear, others are never “confused” about whether it’s a credit card. The sticker does not cover the chip, the numbers, or anything that would prevent it from being recognized or processed. This was never about the card itself, but about how I was spoken to. If you run a business, you should be able to handle customers with different-looking cards without reacting with annoyance or telling them to “take it off.” It’s not the customer’s job to adjust to you. It’s your staff’s job to treat people respectfully and professionally.
We got the place highly reccomened to us & we couldn’t be less happy with the slop that we were served. The service was very good & everyone was so friendly but the food they gave us was more geared towards our pup than us. Everything was so soggy & felt like it was just scooped onto the plate like you’d see in a bad prison movie.
