Sweet! 1st visit here. Great & Friendly staff. Food was great to eat. Should have come here sooner.
It is a good place for breakfast and lunch, The food is good and the staff are friendly,
The food is excellent and the staff treat you like family...Great place to eat while feeling like your home. 👍👍👍👍👍
I stepped in the wrong diner cuz when the bill came it was $50 just for home fries eggs and toast and coffee for two people a little absurd my pockets were not that deep that day
One of my favorites. Love the Mexican breakfast menu
I love this place. Great ambiance, excellent Huevos Rancheros, and surprisingly decent coffee!
Great simple place
Nice place to eat breakfast 🥞🍳I eat there every Saturday and Sunday good food
Food is fantastic! Wait staff is very nice. Love eating here! Price is excellent for the amount of food you get.
Amazing food, great and fast service and good prices. Felt comfortable and satisfied.
We love the New York Diner, for it's consistently delicious comfort food, Latin specialties (try the sizzling chorizo egg avocado and corn tortillas platter) and the friendliest staff in Queens. A treasure.
This was my go-to spot when I lived in the neighborhood. Really good food. I love the lunch sandwiches. Service is always friendly.
Been coming here for years. Always pleasant. Always friendly and welcoming. Great food. Great service.
Old style 'lunch car' chrome diner, 50s look. Not many around today. Great atmosphere, very good service.
The food was good. Great service and staff. It's a very small restaurant.
Delicious breakfast. Very busy for a small place. Food constantly cooking on spot, very fresh.
I use Uber Eats when I'm working and I sit and enjoy a nice good hot breakfast when off the staff is so polite and always have a smile
Wow! I was pleasantly surprised coffee, food and service was very good. For a quick bite its a prefect place to stop.
Amazing food, amazing service.
This charming little diner is perfect for breakfast or lunch. Food is delicious, service is friendly and efficient (Claudia RULES!). My favorite blueberry pancakes in NYC!
I eat there all the time, whenever I get a gig out in Northern Blvd. Queens! Very cozy and has that old school diner/luncheonette feel. The staff is super friendly. They make an amazing cup of Joe and their prices are super reasonable!
I love this diner so much. It truly feels like stepping into the past. Their Covid protocols are rock solid, so eating there feels incredibly safe. The staff is so helpful and friendly. It's also SO affordable! Please support this GEM of a diner!
Excellent service, very friendly and courteous. The food is great with a choice of Latino flair, very tasty and has a quaint feel. Space is limited and is a neighborhood spot, so expect a wait of 10 minutes. Pricing is good too.
Place is an institution. over 75 yrs in business, so rare. Hope it never goes away! One of the few places that still feels like old school NYC!
Great place to eat food is great The service is great. Everything is excellent about this place. I love it will return been there three times already and will continue to go back.
1st experience and a good one. Across the street from Best Buy and Home Depot. The place is clean (including the restrooms which are often a good proof of tidiness). Waitress was smiling and efficient. The burger as ordered and speedily delivered. I retain this address for my next shopping days in the Queens. For French passerby: N’hésitez pas à vous arrêter dans ce resto typique. L’accueil et la nourriture sont excellents.
Loved it, well done crispy bacon. Delicious burgers that got me full but not too full like other places. Really good service. Good cheap prices. But it was too crowded other than that excellent
Truly amazing original landmark. We arrived about 11:45 good thing and good time for photos. What a busy place for Thursday. About half the tables filled and a few at the counter by 12:15 . Amazing amount of take out and delivery, for a reason. The food is fantastic and glorious portions. Staff actually let us enjoy our meals without that " how's " questions. Our first time Call us regulars now because it's worth our 15 minute walk.
We had a delicious breakfast here under their adorable Christmas decorations! To get to dine in a place that takes such care to uphold its vintage feel was a treat - not to mention the warm, kind staff. I will be back.
5 stars only for the service I received from the waitress with the red hair. I was greeted warmly, My order was accurate and she went above and beyond to ensure I was accommodated for any needs. I will be sure to return just for her pleasant demeanor and the experience I had with her service. Food was also cooked to perfection!
As someone from the southern US, the All Star Special from Waffle House is something I have been searching for a version of in NYC for years. They have a combo at New York Diner that’s 2 eggs, meat, potatoes, toast, a waffle, and coffee/orange juice all for unbelievably cheap. I have finally found the NYC All Star Special. 🥹 I think our bill for two full meals was $33 including tax. We got served quickly, and the server always kept our coffee topped off—all this happening while the perfect soundtrack of oldies was playing. The perfect diner experience, no notes.
An old school diner. The food was amazing and we will be coming back. We come here often and the service is always nice, and never had an issue. The food is our favorite. Everything we have had here we have loved. They put so much love and passion into the food. Can’t say enough about our love of this place!
I’ve been coming here for years. The staff is always amazing , and the food has always been excellent. Plenty of options, and everything is nicely priced . The coffee is ridiculously good.. I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu, and it’s alllllll good.
The French toast was dry BUT they cooked my bacon to perfection :) I'll be back to try their pancakes. Service was great, cute little diner, so small you could almost miss it.
Truly love this diner, it’s always a nice experience when we visit. The staff is friendly and kind, the service is fast and the food is delicious. It’s tough to find that perfect casual diner vibe in this city but this place definitely has it!
Love this diner,,,It's a nice cozy place, old school, has been around for over 75 yeras and feels like home ...Everthing is excelent about it ,,,If you never tried it yet then you're missing out alot!!
Nice surprise!! Great food, fast service, and a friendly work staff. Thank you very much!!
Look, show this place some love but keep it between you and your loved ones okay? We don’t want shitty social media bums ruining a good thing yet again in NY. I mean you see so many good spots you love and can’t get in no more. But you know, this spot, is a bit of a hidden gem anyway. Very easy for folks to miss them and maybe that’s good for the rest of us. We dined on Sunday morning and When you come in you’re greeted with a smile and a warm hello. The space was a classic cozy diner and spotlessly clean. You sit yourself if it isn’t too busy or wait for the waiter, be kind. We sat and saw they had a lot of to go orders and we were lucky we got there it wasn’t too busy yet. It did get busy an hour in. Our food was made fast and honestly it was really good. We even got a Nutella + Chocolate Chip Pancakes after our meal cause I was in love. I grew up in Queens and eating in small diners like this is nostalgic for me. I was in search of a good one and I’m glad to say, I found a good one. Get the fresh squeeze orange juice, our amazing server said it’s sweet and not too tart, it’s perfect and she was right. Anyways, in short you should go, eat and tip them. No it ain’t bougie but they cook good and take care of you. That’s fine dining
There are very few true classic New York diners left, and this is one of them. If you want to immerse yourself in a tine capsule, come here. I just came back from breakfast there, the first time since before Covid, and my eggs and rye toast with crispy home fries were exactly as I remembered. I first came here in the 1980s and it still looks the same - clean and sharp with shiny aluminum and Art Deco details, and the sparkly vinyl booth benches. This place has nothing to prove. It is simple good classic diner food, plus of course Spanish entrees. Sure, eggs & bacon are no longer $1.85 (12.99 in fact), but that's a normal price anywhere today. Cone by, support the place and have some good grub.
This literally is a tiny hidden gem me & hubs stumbled upon it on a Sunday morning the breakfast was awesome..as well as very clean & pleasant waitress
Great Little Spot!! Breakfast food was delicious and cooked just as requested. Staff was friendly and the service was great. Defineitely don't overlook this spot. Worth a stop!
Came here with my father for breakfast. It's a nice, cozy little restaurant. You almost feel like home. The food was great, inexpensive, and tasty. The redhead waiter who helped us was very nice and did not rush to get us out. It's rare nowadays to find good service. I'll be coming back for lunch in the near future.
Labor Day morning the place was spotless clean, the food is delicious, my wife ordered some waffles with blueberries and ham, it was fresh, flavorful.. I asked for the “huevos pericos” With chicharrón and it was sooo good. I cannot praise enough how good was this experience, the people working here are great, dedicated to their job, kind and nice. Great place. We’ll be back for sure.
I buyed combo #1 it brings 2 eggs, choice of meat, (l picked bacon), home fries, toast and choice of pancakes, french toast or waffle. I ordered by uber eats and it only takes like 30mins. Good temperature and very good flavor, everything fresh. And the best part is they put all the condiments on the side… ketchup, butter, jelly, syrup, salt and pepper. I highly recommend this store the employees are very good.
Not bad for the price. Plain and simple fare in a retro style diner. Great for breakfast
First time here and I am pleased with the cleanliness and food was delicious I ordered breakfast .. Enjoy
Food Is Fresh and Delicious! The only thing keeping this from going to 5 stars is their open hours.... they should be open longer
The wait was a bit long. I think they should have had more workers. Other than that the good was absolutely delicious and the staff so were insanelykind.
The price of food is very reasonable and portioned. The place is good for breakfast and lunch. The diner is well known for movies being filmed there.
It is a very small old fashioned dinner. The food was good and the service was good . All in all it was good
A modern take on a classic New York Diner. Sadly, only open before 5, but the food is delicious.
Almost missed it. Small place and are right next to gas station. All condense are classic not in ketchup bags. Syrup, sugar, tobasco etc. Breakfast made as requested but in huge portion. Fresh taste too. Gracias all. Recommended.
after walking past this place for hundreds of times I finally decided to give it a go. I ordered two eggs, sausage, fries. The portion size was good. the prices in the menu were a bit on the high end. My only complaint was that the receipt had two amounts ; cash pay and card pay were two different amounts. Card pay was a bit extra than cash so I gave the cashier cash and he still ended up charging me the amount for card. I didn’t say anything to him I just deducted that amount from the tip.
Small diner in queens food is ok had egg salad it was a lazily crushed egg with mayo slopped on it could of put a little more effort into it. I would go back and try something else on the menu next time
I had the $10 breakfast, which includes coffee, French toast (or pancakes), eggs, home fries, sausages and...TOAST. The sausages were flavorful and the eggs and potatoes good. The coffee was very good.. The French toast was a bit too tough and needs to be made with butter, not margarine. (Get a good recipe online.) The syrup was artificial, not maple. Some fruit with the French toast instead of more toast would have been nice. The service was somewhat inattentive and cold. A musty old smell pervades the space but I didn't notice it too much after a while. The sugar dispenser was missing its little flap and the syrup dispenser had seen better days. I probably wouldn't come back.
This is the cutest tiniest most authentic old skool diner in the greater NYC area. It is worth going here for the experience of ye olden days kitch. It is HARD TO OVERLOOK - this place is small! When you are looking at the gas station, traffic, or Home Depot - you might miss it. Don't! As far as food goes....it is not impressive. Not bad, by any means, but not good or great. My burger had several of those (icky things you don't want to bite) indicating a lower quality of meat. Hey- it's not bare burger. The staff was friendly. A solid: go to it at least once recommnendation!
As a bus driver from South Jersey I take about 7 or 8 trips into New York City every year and usually will not even think of trying to find some place to park the bus while I grab a meal so I will just pack a lunch and eat wherever it is that I parked. This past month I have taken 3 trips into the city but because I did not have a chance to pack anything on the third trip but knew where I was going to park and looked on-line to see if there were any diners nearby that I could grab an inexpensive meal. Since I had heard o some places in NYC where you would spend $30 just for a sandwich I was a little concerned. Looking at the reviews on Google maps I thought the New York Diner sounded like it might be just what I was looking for and since it was a short walk from where I would be I decided to give them a try. Upon walking in I was told to sit wherever I would like to and since there was only one other couple in there I was also concerned that I might have made a mistake since it was only 1:00 PM. As I scanned the short menu I was also a little concerned that it was not the typical South Jersey Diner menu that had all sorts of things on it for you to hose from but was rather limited in it's selections. I guess that made it easier for me to make a quick decision on my meal which was I think called a Mexican Chicken Wrap or something to that effect. The young lady who took care of me was very pleasant while taking my order and then paid attention to my progress as she was busy with other things in the diner. While there only one other table was seated but there were a few people who came in for take-out so I'm guessing they probably have a cast of regulars that keep them in business. The diner is rather small with maybe enough seating for about 35 people but I have no reason to say that it is a problem or that I would not come back here again if given the opportunity, maybe next time I could even bring another bus driver in with me if the trip was large enough to warrant two buses but not knowing if I will get the chance it might not happen.
Food was great and the prices are pretty fair. But the biggest flaw is the fact that they don't accept credit/debit cards. Honestly, they are losing business if they cannot offer an option to pay with card. Please find an economically feasible approach to offer card option.
Negative vibe. Not an inviting or warm staff by any means No smiles or even greetings or well wishes or thank yous on the way out. You can eat eggs and bacon anywhere. Low quality ingredients too. Would I go back? It would be a long shot. Most likely not.
First time ordering from here and asked for a serving of avocado on my omelette. Order showed up with the most rotten, blackest avocado I’ve ever seen sitting on top of all my food.
Over priced food that sucks. Food Too salty, they use cheap bread. price fluctuates from day to day as if people don't read menu prices. Go elsewhere and spend your $
THESE PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTINGLY HORRIBLE AND SO RUDE!! THEY HAVE PEOPLE ANSWERING THE PHONE WHO DONT SPEAK ENGLISH. I WAITED FOR OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR AN ORDER THAT WAS NEVER SENT OUT. I ASKED WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG AND THE LADY WAS SO RUDE, I TOLD THEM I DONT WANT THE FOOD ANYMORE CAUSE SHE WAS SO RUDE AND IT WAS TAKING TOO LONG. SHE YELLED AND HUNG UPBTHE PHONE. NEVER AGAIN !!!!
They always messing up orders the new girl is very unprofessional and talks on the phone with the attitude I had a complaint to the owner about and he started to argue with me and told me not to come back
Terrible place wouldn't recommend to anyone. Found a hair in my food. Be careful, check your food before you eat.
The food was great but the service was bad it took them 20mins to take our order. The AC was on but felt like it was heat wave and they charge you for ice.
Placed an order 25 min in advance, showed up to pickup the order they handed my order to another customer, female workers have bad attitudes. I’m glad I didn’t spent my money here.
The place is good but the waitress had a really bad attitude and was very rude and had a bad service
The waitress wasn't friendly not very helpful the owner is horrible to her customers and the workers as well I wanted milk for my coffee the one she gave me something was floating in it when I ask for another one there was so much attitude not the place to go for breakfast or lunch I truly believe the owner is a racist!
I wanted to like this place I went there and ordered my food and noticed the guy that was cooking the food did not have any gloves on and kept whipping his hands on his clothes while he was preparing the food I got up and walked out I don't play about my food
Walked in for breakfast and they basicaly threw me out because they didn't open on time..what a customer service.Zero stars. I saw now that the owner has done this kind of thing before. What an absolute disaster of a place.
Owner is very rude, she’s very bi polar. Some days she’s happy some days she doesn’t even turn around to say hello and ignore. She treats her workers so bad to the point that her workers give customers attitude !!!!! I had to make this private because apparently she texts people late. I don’t need that energy. Food is great but service and owner so bad smh. Treat your workers good !!! And if you having a bad day please don’t take it out on your customers. Thank you, will not be ordering ever again.
Went there the other day and had the WORST experience I’ve ever had with the waitress, or hostess I should say. To clarify, I’ve been in the server industry for many many years and I really understand how emotionally taxing this job is. However, being rude to your customers is not okay. To start, when I walked in I sat in a table and was briskly asked (without a hello, kindness or explanation) to move bc no one can use that table. Which is fine, I obliged. Later when I was being waited on, I said I would like black coffee and I was unsure if I should have this or that. The waitress immediately turned on her heel and just left me talking to myself, while muttering that I should call her back when I’m ready to order. Again, just plain rude. Anyway, when I’m my coffee arrived, she briskly pulled a curtain and enclosed me in my table without saying a word. Which was just unsettling and invasive because I was just confused as to why she was doing that, especially because everyone inside was vaxxed (she asked everyone for proof) and there were already plexiglass walls between booths. I think if she would have just taken a second to communicate what she was going to do and what the regulations at the restaurant were, I would have felt much more safe and content. As a side note, there were signs in the booths ONLY in Spanish, saying customers could only stay a max of 45 minutes. Which I feel should have been directly communicated to me before ordering, because I don’t think I would have stayed. After dining, I packed up my things and decided to take a walk around the stores and take picture of this beautiful antique diner. I made sure not to take pictures of anyone, because I would not want to do that without their consent. The waitress asked me if I needed anything, to which I responded that I just needed the check. I continued to casually take pictures, and as I was taking pictures of some signs, she tells me I am making her uncomfortable. I tell her I don’t understand why she feels that way, because I am not taking pictures of her or of anyone in the store, to which she raises her voice and kicks me out of the restaurant. I of course felt hurt and offended, but I proceeded to pay my bill and when I had grabbed all of my things went up to her and said that I felt she was incredibly rude in every interaction that we had had, and there was no reason for her to have treated me so poorly. Not only as a customer, but as a person. I said she really needed to work on her tone and attitude, then I left. So overall, just feel really disappointed in this establishment and offended by this waitress. A diner is supposed to be a friendly and comfortable place, not a rude and vicious place.
The worst place to order, The lady that pick up the phone to take order is rude. In my job we order all the time for over a year she said I won't have my guys deliver food there. They do not want to go cause you don't tip much. She said you all miserable. Our order was about $55.00 and we usually tip good. She was rude! Never again will I even trust to order food. SHE IS HORRIBLE AND RACIST.
Who makes sausage egg and cheese on flat bread! Especially 5 dollars for this. They can’t even follow simple instructions for orders and the taste for the breakfast platter bland and little portions. As per your reply be specific on your choices “white bread” can be anything. Last time I went to eat at your diner I was served on a roll to go. Never got asked what bread I want. Plus, There is no “roll” option on your online choices. A roll can be white bread too. Same goes for you , make sure to follow instructions on a specific order and not miss items! Thank you very much for your response 😌 PS. They will text you at 9 Pm on your personal phone number to press you. Talking about “we will go to your house and give you your money back tomorrow” Proves how UNPROFESSIONAL they are !!!!!!!!!!!! How I placed an order on delivery.com and they got my sisters number! This number belongs to Paula, so Paula act your age.
They have some good days and other days are just awful service. Just tried ordering food for pick up and someone picks up the phone and hangs up. They do this twice before they just let the phone ring off the hook, On one occasion I called and the phone rang off the hook until I finally decided to walk over. Only to see the Diner was empty and a gentleman who might be owner/manager standing by the phone just letting it ring. Its unfortunate that they have such poor service sometimes. If they can just improve on there customer service skills there is no reason this place can't be 5 star diner.
DO NOT ORDER AT THIS RESTAURANT THROUGH DELIVERY SERVICES. I ordered at this restaurant through UberEats and they charged me for extras that I did NOT ask for and didn’t even call to notify me of this charge (that included the taxes of that charge too). And when my food finally arrived, not only was it not good but it was the wrong order.
Scroll down, not the only one who has stated this type of view. Put bacon on my food which was a mistake on their behalf. I asked to simply take off the bacon and they said we serve bacon here and don’t care if you do not eat bacon (this was also after waiting an hr for a simple egg and cheese pick up) Cook was not wearing a hair net, wiping his face, and touching the food.
Food is disgusting. Steak had foul odor . 2 mosquitos in my orange juice. Oatmeal watered down .coffee cup with lipstick stain. Do not come here. Food takes a while to come. Dont know why food took so long to come out. When you barely washing the dishes. Grabbing the leftover juice thats been sitting out for god know hows long. N adding hot water to oatmeal thats been sitting out .FYI It still came out to us cold by the way.
The kids waiting tables were courteous and trying. Only 2 types of toast. Plastic silverware. The ac is not enough and never has been. Giving up on this place.
Not friendly to us but definitely friendly to others...Being the only people of color in this Dinner we still tried to have a good time despite cold reception and stares upon walking in . Its LIC Queens we definitely did not think that's an issue but I don't know... .We smiled said hello good morning, all of that. We tried to get any ones attention. When we decided to seat ourselves we still waited 10 mins only to be asked is your order to go? Um no can we have a menu? The lady behind counter walked away. Finally somebody did come with a menu and then the unfriendly lady comes to take the order. We waited another 25 mins for our food which was just placed in front of us but was wrong order..I asked for an orange juice with my breakfast and got a hot bottle of expired tropicana no glass nothing.... Bottom line you get what you pay for at this little whole in the wall..Its a neighborhood joint but apparently not in tuned with the neighborhood it serves.. Dont waste time grab n go meal quick cheap food fine..friendly dinner experience NOT!
We as a company have been ordering food from this dinner for years . We never personally meet in person till today. I am of african american decent and was treated improperly due to my color. Female waitress white approx 22 years of age who i recognized based on her voice ignored me while waiting to place an order and requested that i move while 2 white gentalmen walked in and she attempted to take there order instead mine. Both gentalman corrected her and stated " He was here first" watress responded " Its ok let me take your order" the gentalmen responed again no "He was here first" I was amazed of the treatment I was given and never again to plac e an order at this DINNER.
I orden Sandwich egg bacon, waffles, waffles whit bacon, hot chocolate , cafe , orange juice 60 dollar poor service. Add already 14 $ extra thief. Dinner
I am extremely disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. During my visit, I was treated rudely and differently by a female worker after she became aware of my sexuality. The shift in her behavior was noticeable — the service became cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming. What began as a normal dining experience quickly turned uncomfortable. No guest should feel judged or marginalized for who they are. Restaurants are public spaces meant to provide hospitality to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here. Her word was " your annoying and I don't like Lesbians' people. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures proper training and accountability so no one else has to experience discrimination while simply trying to enjoy a meal or just simply garbing a cup of coffee once getting off the night shift. I will definitely will be escalating this to the BBB as well and to the LGBTQ Community.
Ordered bagels and got sesame bagels when didn't have no option to write and was not stated anywhere it would be sesame. You guys tried to kill my gf. Crazy how you do business. Said I didn't state it as a excuse like your sending a top 10 well known allergy to someone without stating. Hope you guys having a horrible day. Waste of money.
I will never go back to this diner the food was good but the lady with the glasses has a nasty attitude , she’s friendly to who she want to be nice to . She had waitresses before but she would be nasty to them now she’s there alone . She needs an attitude adjustment.
We ordered food online. I got a strawberry nutella french toast. First few bites were good but then it started getting salty. Nutella french toast should be sweet…not salty. It became uneatable salty so more then half the food was left. My boyfriend who can usually eat everything couldn’t eat it either.
