Nikola is praised for its authentic Mexican cuisine, generous portions, and friendly service. The huaraches and cafe de olla are highly recommended. Some reviewers noted inconsistencies in flavor and slow service at times, but overall, customers rave about the food.

First time going to eat there. I eat everywhere and this place has different flavor. Hand made tortillas salsas are good. The shrimp empanada is delicious.
Food here’s is delicious authentic and very generous portions. I gotta go back to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend it!!
The food was absolutely amazing, and the customer service made the experience even better. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and attentive. Highly recommend!
A hidden gem serving authentic Mexican cuisine from the Acayucan region! The portions are incredibly generous and the flavors are genuinely traditional. Their chicharrón and carne de chinameca are must-try specialties, prepared with traditional cooking methods. The restaurant offers a true taste of Mexican cuisine that goes beyond typical Tex-Mex fare. What sets them apart is their commitment to authenticity and generous serving sizes that provide excellent value. The service is attentive and friendly. While the exterior may be modest, don't let that deter you - the food quality speaks for itself. Pro tip: Try their café de olla - it's super delicious. The truck may be easy to miss as their sign is somewhat small, but it's absolutely worth seeking out.
This is by far the best tasting Mexican food restaurant. The food is rich in authentic Mexican flavors and spices. Everything is fresh and taste home made. The salsa is delicious but not too spicy. I ordered the the enchiladas de queso con cecina and my wife ordered the sopes de cecina y desherbada, i would strongly recommend any of these as they are very tasty! We will definitely make this one of our regular spots! Had to come back to update my review, I noticed others also complained about long wait times, and we also had to wait 45+ min for our food, however the staff was very accommodating and apologized for the delay as it was caused by an issue with the food ordering system, I want to thank management as they even comped one of our meals and gave us extra food to make it right.
First time here and we loved it! Seriously the best food come and try it! We came Saturday for lunch around 1.30pm and the restaurant was not busy, no line. Try the huarache and platanos. They also have aguas frescas. Todo lo que ordenamos estaba super delicioso! The staff was very friendly treated you like family and very knowledgeable on the menu. Definitely coming back and we highly recommend.
Great place for authentic Mexican food. Second time at this place and I enjoyed the food just as much as the first time. Their specialty is the Huaraches, which let's you choose a meat guiso (stew) on top of a masa (corn) thick tortilla. I highly recommend trying one of these, Thier meat guisos are great as well as the rajas con queso. Great choice for lunchtime as well as for a good dinner.
Food was amazing! 🩷 , we went on v-day! The wait was pretty LONG! Customer service was 5/10 , waiter looked like he didn’t wanna be there. 🙃 Other than that, I loved the place! 🩷 We traveled from Harlingen. 🏡
Authentic south Mexico taste. Café de olla was great! Our meals were large and delicious. Didn't feel overfilled after finishing meal.
I've seen this restaurant/food truck all over social media and finally decided to give it a try. Boy was it a pleasant surprise! The food was amazing! I had the Fiesta plate and it is A LOT of food. Super tasty and delicious. The cafe de olla was amazing! It gives a run for its money to La Concheria's cafe de olla! The only thing I would say is go eat there with time, i arrived there around 1:30 and was served my food around 2:10, but they did have a lot of people and everything was being made fresh. There is a Lot of bees so they will get in your coffee and won't stop bugging so just keep that in mind. Also the service could be a little better, i sat by myself drinking my coffee and waiting for my food and my server never came back to refill my coffee or check if I need it anything. She only bought my plate and saw my empty coffee mug(really cute mugs/cups) and didnt offer to refill it. Had to ask a gentleman to refill it and after all when I was done then she comes and hands me the check and offers desserts or any more coffee. Ya pa que! Just be patient and know more or less what you're going into. Great food that is worth waiting for, okay outdoor environment and service needs improvement.
Great place with lots of room and it's very cold 🥶 .. The coffee is a very sweet cinnamon like taste drink. The food is very traditional. we're talking Mexican Serria type breakfast.. The only thing guacamole had alot salt. The waitresses are attentive but a little stale for my liking. I like to go to a place business where there are happy people. Sometimes, a restaurant might be mid on the food level. But, if people are wonderful and happy, I'll keep coming back to support . We came in at 9 a.m., and they gave us lunch menus, which was odd. I asked for bfast menu, and the girl said they didn't have one . She then told what they offered by memory .. So make sure to process all the info to order a freaking plate😅. Then she all plates came with chilaquiles. In other words, they are just chip with salsa on top, nothing to write home about.. I told her what I wanted, which was nopales with no chilaquiles, and she couldn't comprehend. She had this face like we don't offer that, and then she goes ( oh, you want to make ur own plate). I didn't see the point of that.. Especially when I'm the one paying for my food. In other words, order what we offer and don't ask for anything special face... I would rather spend my money somewhere else if they are going to act like that. Oh, well. Happy Health to all...
This is more of 4 1/2 stars....first off...the food is actually delicious! The speciality here is obviously masa. Huaraches, sopes, pellizcadas. I went and had a sampler plate overall...the fajita (cecina) is on point! It's super thin and falls apart as you eat it. The sopes and Enchiladas rojas are tasty. The deshebrada goes great on their sopes. The flautas were okay....it felt like the chicken needed just a tad more seasoning. I've also had the enmoladas and I don't know...it was okay. Not to nitpick but my wife uses Goya mole at home and it comes out better....so that plate was okay. My father ordered himself a huarache and thoroughly enjoyed it...I would recommend if you go here...order a huarache because that is their speciality. Other points...the place itself has great ambience. It feels very homey...humble. But it's a little pricey...and you can see how on the menu they raised they prices on everything by $1 or more. They simply scratched out the previous price with pen and wrote in the higher price next to it....and they only take cash or use CashApp. Great service tho...the waitresses are extremely nice. Definitely recommend... just make sure you order their Huaraches.
Had heard alot of great things about this place but to be honest was left expecting more. The place it self was nice and service excellent but the food was one monotone flavor, entomatadas had an acidic flavor like the sauce didn't finish cooking all the dishes had cheese in abundance the dough for the sopes was hard and the size of things was overwhelming to be honest I gave them a try but will not be making a trip from San Benito again
Food was good not great but also not horrible. Price for the portion was good. My problem the service...took like 15 minutes to acknowledge me, 15 minutes to bring just my water, and never came and asked if we needed anything else. I asked her for the menu because I wanted to order something extra brought it and just dumped it there and never came to asked me what is wanted. After finishing eating she never came and gave me my ticket ans had to ask another waitress. Maybe I Will try again with a different waitress.
First time here. Service was okay the waitress was not too friendly. Food had the sampler was okay but all the items lacked flavor. The enchiladas are filled with cheese that is a good thing but the sauce on them lacks flavor. The fajita was a big piece and tender but also lacked flavor.
First visit: 03/06/23 Staff is uninformed of Federal Laws regarding discrimination against people with disabilities. Staff is not friendly towards individuals with service animals. Sheriffs department called and educated staff. Personal feelings aside, the food is good, however the negative service overshadowed the experience. Second visit: 03/23/23 I revisited this place. Experience was completely different. No hassle for bringing in my service animal. I was able to enjoy the food and fully be immersed in the music. This gem is a bit pricey however the food makes for a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place. Absolute gem. If it wasn’t for all the flies roving around, I’d give this place 4 stars.
I understand they haven't been open for long, but this was my personal experience: •Presentation on the beans & chips are not so good. Styrofoam plate was what they brought it out in. •We ordered our food, and 30 min later, they came to say 1 of the dishes we ordered ran out. •After that, it still took another 40 min to get our first plate of food, while we had zero updates on the other plate ordered. •Other tables were served before us, even though we were there first. •Second plate finally came out after almost an hour of waiting, only for it to be such disappointing portions. •Waiter never came by to give us updates or ask any questions. Had came to try it because of tik tok but was disappointed. There are plenty of other better places. I would not recommend this to anyone I know because of how bad the service was.
