Hidden GEM!! Must try it! Butter Chicken & Paneer & Lamb Curry & Naan were excellent dishes! Yummy food! We will be back. The atmosphere to me seemed like an India Starbucks coffee shop with people working on laptops & on calls. Just cool!
This was a very calm lunch. It excited the taste buds that filled the heart with satisfaction. Well cooked food to the taste of the customer. Warm welcome and hospitality that reminds us to come back again.
First came here a few years ago. Came back after all this time because their food is so good!! I love the garlic naan, and the shrimp biryani. Their curries are also really good and I loved the Gobi Manchurian. The mango lasso and mango fruit salad are my favorites. It's also very clean and they were very attentive.
As a Malayali, having Kerala food after a long time made me really happy. The porotta and beef were amazing, and the chicken biryani and chicken curry were also very tasty. Everything tasted just like home. The people there were very kind and friendly. I really loved this place. ❤️
Spices Of India Kitchen exceeded every expectation! The food was incredibly delicious — full of authentic flavor, freshness, and the kind of warmth that can only come from a kitchen that truly cares about its craft. Every dish tasted like it was made with passion. The service was excellent from start to finish. The team offered such personalized attention that it made the entire experience feel special. Their warm welcome, genuine hospitality, and generosity created a comfort level that made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for amazing Indian food paired with heartfelt service, Spices Of India Kitchen is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
One of the best Kerala restaurants in my opinion. Fresh, homely and authentic Kerala food. Their beef cutlet is a must-try. During my short visit to Texas, I have already visited the restaurant twice. The atmosphere reminded me of hometown. I tried chatti-choru and Porotta beef. Loved both of it. Chatti-choru came with double boiled rice, beef olathiyathu, chicken fry, fish fry, chammanthi, moru curry, aviyal, cabbage thoran, beetroot kichdi, achar, kondattam and pappadam (I may have missed out one or two more dishes). Every bite was blissful. My friend (Non-Keralite, vegetarian) tried the vegetable Korma with Porotta. She absolutely loved it. I also tried Porotta and beef fry during my second visit. Again, It was fulfilling and deeply satisfying. Food is affordable and you get generous portions. 10/10 recommend.
Absolutely Exceptional Indian Dining Experience! I recently had the pleasure of organizing a team dinner at Spices Of India Kitchen - Restaurant & Catering, and I can wholeheartedly say it was a phenomenal experience that left every single person raving! This isn't just a meal; it's a true culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of India. From the moment we started ordering, we knew we were in for a treat. We sampled a wide array of dishes, and each one was an absolute standout. The Lamb Biryani was fragrant and perfectly cooked, easily some of the best I've ever had. Classics like Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala were rich, creamy, and undeniably authentic, pairing perfectly with the fresh, soft Garlic Naan. For appetizers, the Chicken 65 was spicy and addictive, and the Chicken Spring Rolls and Chicken Cutlet were fantastic, flavorful bites. A special shout-out must go to the Beef Fry and Parotta—a delicious, savory, and truly authentic combination that was a huge hit at our table. What impressed us most, beyond the incredible flavor, was the commitment to quality and quantity. The spice level was spot-on, perfectly balancing heat and flavor without overwhelming the palate. And the portions were so generous that we literally couldn't finish everything! We happily left with takeaway boxes, which just meant we got to enjoy the delicious leftovers the next day. If you're looking for an authentic, delicious, and high-quality Indian dining experience, whether for a team event, a family meal, or catering, look no further than Spices Of India Kitchen. Excellent food, authentic taste, and huge portions—they've earned every bit of this glowing review. We will absolutely be back!
We decided to try Spices of India and we were not disappointed! EVERY DISH came out served fresh and hot. We ordered Butter Chicken & Chicken Tikki Masala and chicken Biriyana and the vegetable eggroll and chicken eggroll and everything was delicious. Will definitely be coming back. The picture shows that nothing was left behind.
Spice of India Restaurant (Kerala Restaurant in Dallas): Spice of India is hands down one of the best Kerala restaurants I’ve experienced, not just in Dallas but anywhere in USA itself. The food here is truly authentic and captures the distinct flavors of Kerala cuisine, which is very different from the more common North Indian dishes most people in the U.S. associate with Indian food. The chef clearly puts an incredible focus on quality and authenticity. Every dish feels like it’s crafted with care, transporting you straight back to the flavors and memories of Kerala. From the use of traditional spices to the cultural touches in preparation, the food here is rich, flavorful, and deeply connected to Kerala’s heritage. If you want to experience what real Kerala food is about—beyond the usual “Indian food” most Americans know—this is the place I’d highly recommend. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a cultural experience. Totally worth it, whether you’re from Kerala and craving a taste of home or simply curious to explore one of India’s most unique and flavorful regional cuisines.
Food and Service Incredible!! Best Indian we’ve ever had. It is definitely a dive which is what we love. However Silverware we had to clean and place was a little unkept and could be cleaner and better organized. We will definitely be back because the food was so amazing and again service top notch. We had Paneer Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken and Chicken Biriyani along with garlic naan and mango lassi to finish the meal. Joby (owner) and our attendant Pandu were most hospitable and kind. Love the scriptures on the wall too!
The service and ambience at this establishment are commendable. During our weekday visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and quality of the Indian flavors offered. I am always on the hunt for authentic Indian food & this place hit the spot.Everything tasted delicious & service was great. Freshly made tea was awesome. The owner Mr Joby is very kind and welcoming Customer service 5 🌟
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spices of India – Kitchen and Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was authentic, hot, fresh, and bursting with the true flavors of Kerala. Every dish reminded us of home and was prepared with such care. A special shout-out to our wonderful waiter, Vishnu, who made the whole experience unforgettable—his warmth, attentiveness, and hospitality truly made us feel like we were back in Kerala. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving real Kerala cuisine!
The food here just wow. We were craving malayali food n found this hidden gem. The pothichoru was heavenly n thalasseri chicken biriyani was out of the world. Tears of joy on my teenagere eyes after eating the beef fry n kerala porotta. So glad to have found this place and we will be definitely back again. Took a lot of to go's on our way back to Austin for a few friends as well. Vishnu & Varghese chettan was so hospitable n friendly. The owner n chef mr.joby has the passion for sereving delicious authentic kerala food. Manga chammanthy n mulaku chammanthy was so close to what my mom n grandmom prepare The tea n fish cutlets were amazing too . Portion size is great. Authentic kerala food, this is a place to go.!
Great food, service, atmosphere and overall experience!! My boss an I went to taste test the food for a company event we were having and we were not disappointed!! We ordered the curry chicken, butter chicken, chicken and veggie samosas and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot!! The flavors were amazing!! Fast forward to today, when we ordered large pans of those same items and, again, everything was AMAZING! Joby, the owner, delivered the catering order to us and helped me set it up. He was kind, helpful, professional and very friendly. At a company of 75 people in the office, every single person that tried it, loved it! They gave raving reviews to me, the event planner, about how happy they were with the food. Thank you Joby, and staff, for your help! You made this experience fantastic and our whole team appreciates you! We will definitely be regulars from here!
Loved the food and hospitality.Had the gobi Manchurian, the coconut milk bread and many layer bread to go with our lamb curry and thokoran (delicious spices with cabbage, onion and coconut milk). I ordered mild spice which was perfect for us. Also tried the mango lassi which was sweeter than what i am used to. Server was very attentive and you could tell it was a family restaurant. Can't wait till they begin breakfast weekend service again.
Rarely do you get to eat authentic Kerala cuisine and this place is one such rarity! Mr. Joby (owner and chef) is proud of his dishes that he serves with generous portion sizes all while not jeopardizing the taste. We ordered the Pompano Fish Fry (special spicy topping over the succulent fried fish), Butter Chicken and Paneer Tikka Masala (very creamy and delicious). The Shrimp roast was excellent and the Porotta was fresh, soft and flaky! Finally, the most important review is not about the food but about Mr. Joby (the owner) - He is a humble believer and ardent follower of Jesus Christ and his primary objective through this restaurant is not to make profit but to share the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ. He is unashamed to share his testimony and his staff are just as courteous and kind as the owner. All their servers very pleasant and hospitable! May God continue to bless all who come here and may they enjoy the Food, the Fellowship and the Faith!!!
Good - **** It is a small restaurant in Irving. We were looking for a kerala restaurant near DFW Airport and most of them were closed so found this. Thalassery Biriyani was the special of the day and along with that we ordered Kappa, Red Fish Curry, Porotta and Beef Fry for 3 people. The flavor was really good and there was good quantity. Loved it.
I had a very bad experience with the frozen raw meat from Spices of India. The meat smelled bad, looked old, and showed signs of poor freezing and storage. Even after cooking, it tasted off. After eating it, I got sick. This is not healthy food, and it’s very concerning that raw meat is being sold in this condition. I do not recommend buying frozen meat from here. Be very careful.
Absolutely a Rip-Off Ordered the non-veg meal, and half the curries listed online were missing. When questioned, the staff simply said the menu had “changed.” The portions of what was served were barely a spoonful each. Ordered mutton roast and got six tiny bone pieces with almost no meat on them. The only decent portion was the mutton biryani, but even that came without pickle, raita, or papad. The place is dirty and dingy, and it took over an hour to get the food. Staff preparing food behind the swing door weren’t even wearing gloves. Extremely disappointing — stay away from this place.
