I saw the "Life in Cuba" Photo Art Exhibit by photographer Terry Scussel on Dec. 6th, 2015. The display will remain through the month of December. Terry captures the scenery and people of Cuba with emotion, color, and realism. I recommend you drop in for Sangria and view his photographs, which are for sale.
The place is running for two friends of mine Sheila and Navarrete...anyways they have an austere menu, tasty...and good wines and beers, also music is playing some days. Young people, some of them, artist go to the place. It is a relaxing and inspiring place.
Love the food and super friendly vibe. We had pupusas, nachos- all plant based and delicious.
A true hidden gem of San Francisco and The Mission. The owner of this intimate bar makes both new comers and regulars feel welcome as soon as they walk in. The decor is fantastically eclectic; and if you're lucky, you might even get a chance to meet the local pup that occasionally drops by.
What a great, kooky and fun spot! We wandered onto their street side live music on a slow Monday. Fun people inside and out. Great staff!
They have delicious, cheap food that comes with rice and beans. They also have pitchers of sangria that are a great price. Great dive bar feel, great staff. Cash only.
Tiny hole in the wall neighborhood bar that has owners who actually talk to you and make you feel welcome! Kitschy decor. Good pricing on sangria as well!
An amazing atmosphere, creatividad para dar y tomar, all along the walls. The claim about their sangria being the best among the best maybe subjective, but worth trying it for a complete experience. The best of the place the genuine people both behind and in front of the bar. Along with the ashtoning decoration The music playing was afro cuban jazz, always full of soul. Among what was heard Chucho Valdés VS his son at the piano. Don´t loose the oportunity to have a chat with the bar tender. He is a box full of surprises. Mucho más que un barman, todo un bailarín contemporáneo. Absolutely loved it.
I love the owner's art hanging on their walls, and that I always get to speak Spanish to him when I go there. Not to mention the great food, music, and ambiance. A little restaurant with huge character.
By far my favorite bar in SF! Leila is a legend and the music is unbeatable. A home away from home <3
If you truly want to experience san francisco, go here. It's been around for a long time and it embodies the nature of the city. Very liberal spot and occasionally host live music.
This place is unique. Very tiny but you can't be the atmosphere and the warm welcome from the owners. A must see.
Good weird. Gotta go atleast once in you life. Excellent Sangria.
Radio habana is one of my favorite places in the mission. Every once in awhile the have a great djs playing vinyl records with an amazing taste of music. If you are in the are you should pop by and try the food and enjoy the music!
Coolest place in SF! Pure surrealist Mission District Cuban with some Rock N Roll thrown in.
The best little hole in the wall for live entertainment, wine, and empanadas. Layla is the best! Parking is limited, so give yourself some extra time.
Stellar and quirky restaurant tucked away in the busy Mission. It feels very cozy and community-oriented. The lady running it, as others have mentioned, is an awesome and warm host. The food is good, feels just homemade and yummy. Sangria is also tasty. If you're looking for a fun place to go for dinner, I highly recommend this place. May be a little small if you have a big group, but they may help you make it work.
Cute small place in mission with as close to a homemade food as you can get. 4-5 tables that sit 15 people max. The food is good and the person running it was charming and accommodating, will be back.
Chill place, open late. Friendly owner. Cool area. A lot of funky, quirky art on the walls. What more can you ask for when it comes to a simple little bar/food place in San Francisco?
Awesome spot. Owner was amazing. So much history.
Excellent job by the artist and chill bar vibes.
Classic mission gem! The real thing. Funky, eclectic, artsy

If you're on a San Francisco treasure hunt for fun adventures this place is a goldmine. You'll feel right at home no matter what social group you hail from. Leila the owner is a special rare jewel who loves music, art, people and the Mission District community immensely. Live music, funky patrons and tasty libations... what more can you ask for? While you're here make sure to take time to check out the unique art pieces along the walls from local SF artists. Love this place!! 🎶😁❤
Over the years I played my residency here, only way to play and keep my chops ready, our fans were an electic crew of characters always wanting to dance psychedelia!!!
Very cozy! The ambiance is intimate and we were lucky to get some live music on a Friday night! The owner is also the sweetest. Grab a carafe of sangria and enjoy!
Did the weekend tasting menu! Great Prices and everything was superb! Highly recommend going! The food and the atmosphere are fantastic
Leila, the owner, was one of the nicest people I met in Mission. Not only her, but the people were so inviting. I can't recommend this enough for anyone who wants a lively night during the weekends, or a fun, calm, musical night for the weeknight evenings to destress and get your mind off things. The artwork is incredible, all hand made, by a local sculpturer and painter. You can stare at the walls for hours if you wanted to. There's games and sometimes even a movie playing! Lastly, if you're a fan of Sangria - I promise you, this will be the best Sangria you've tasted in San Francisco!
I love this place. It is very small, but the atmosphere is perfect for having great conversations. However, I would warn against getting the food. It took a very long time to come out (about an hour for four people), and was very so-so. The sangria was great, however. I think it would better to have dinner elsewhere, and then stop by for some post-conversation.

Really cool little place with extremely unusual décor. It's cash only, and there's only enough space for about 15 people total. The sangria is nice if you manage to get in and find a seat.
Super quirky creepily decorated tiny restaurant and bar with very friendly mom and pop style service. This place feels like a San Francisco original. Although I didn't try the food it smelled great.
Went her after passing it a couple of times. The sangria us good. The food is filling and has a very at home vibe. Will be returning here in the future. Cash only as most places in the mission
Very unique spot. Cozy with some crazy decorations. The food is great. Sometimes they have a musician or two in there as well.
You won't find a place like this. I recommend people to go just to experience the wacky decorations. Great place to have a glass of wine and some deep "revolutionary" conversations.
Funky little place if you want to experience something different than usual. Sangria seems to be the most popular drink here...
I don't even know where to start with writing a review on Radio Habana. We popped in by pure coincidence and maybe a wink of time telling us to chill out and try something completely different. If you decide to give this place a try, leave everything you expect from a restaurant at home and just go with the flow. This place is funky, unique, special, different and kinda grows on you. A place to forget the world and the world to forget about you. This Cuban place can bring it out of you. There is no menu, the owner Leila will tell you the menu and it will vary on the supplies they have in the kitchen. Kinda like the old days or when you cook at home and you scramble something together. So we tried their pulled pork and mole chicken and we were pleasantly surprised. Both dishes were a home run, and just pleasing on the palette. Was it fancy? - No - but the atmosphere with some of the other guests dancing and enjoying their evenings and drinks made up for so much more. Go check it out, leave all your expectations behind and don't be in a rush, show off your dance skills or practice your Spanish...
Great food and very friendly staff. Unfortunately tables are super small, but it's still worth it!

Went with group of friends. Lots of great art made my the owners of the bar. A real cultural experiance. It is a rather small location so If you and 8 other people I thinking of going you will fill the place. The sangria was excellent/cheap. Better than average fried plantains

Extremely eclectic and, frankly, terrifying. Great spot for friends visiting town or (maybe) a date. Come for the decorations and sangria, not the food. Wouldn't recommend bringing children.
* Albondigas Plate - 3.5 STARS ($8.95): Enjoyed the meatball flavor (comes with about 4 small medium pieces) except that there were some odd textures thrown in. The side salad was refreshing and the dressing was tasty. The rice was a necessary complement to the beans and saucy meatballs. * Sangria - 3 STARS ($6): for a large cup, $5 for a regular cup. Available in carafes. Sweet and tasty and undeniably an amazing deal. Maybe I'm a heavy weight but it tasted more like sugar and juice than alcohol. * House wine - 1 STAR ($5): Perhaps the worst house wine I've ever had. Stick with the sangria :P Affordable place to grab some comfort food but don't expect quality sangria or alcohol.
My friend who took me here said it's changed a lot since she used to frequent this spot. The art/items on the walls are a sensory feast..however I cannot speak to the food (we had drinks/dessert). The server was also a bit abrupt with us.
A cozy little restaurant and bar with odd chotchkies attached to every surface. The food is simple but tasty Cuban fare - mostly plain rice, black beans, a lettuce salad, and some kind of meat stew - though they also had samosas as a vegetarian option.
Like all the other reviews say... really cool decor... lots of trinkets and other random stuff on the walls and the ceiling. The sangria was delicious. We ordered two pitchers for 3 of us, and then the dudes at the table behind us spilled some of their wine on us and bought us a third pitcher to make up for it... so we ended up splitting 3 pitchers of Sangria among three people. Crazy! The food was simple but tasty. The meatballs was my favorite main, and the jambalaya was my favorite starter. The empanada was very dry... not as pastry-like as I'm used to. Service was good, I think mostly because I talked in (broken) Spanish with them. We went on a Monday night and there was no line. I don't think I'll seek this place out again though.
This is a tiny place with about 5 tables. It's definitely worth coming here for a drink just to see their wall decorations! The menu is limited, but this also means that it's not very busy. They are famous for their delicious sangria.

Was looking forward to come here when I visited San Francisco, but was very disappointed. The atmosphere was definitely strange, but I kind of dug it. Service was great, very friendly. The food however was mediocre at best and that's me being generous. I've had Cuban food at other restaurants that were light years better than what I was served here. Really wanted to like this place, but the food just wasn't any good.
I live across the street, and I feel like these guys don’t really care about their neighbors. It’s currently 10:30 on a weeknight, and they’re still blasting Jazz music—30min past when they should have finished for the night. C’mon guys
