The Blue Room is a classic, cash-only dive bar known for its mid-century decor, friendly atmosphere, and live music (jazz and blues). Customers love the cozy vibe and reasonable drink prices, but some find the cash-only policy inconvenient.

Tip: Bring cash! There's an ATM inside, but it's best to be prepared. Check out the live music nights for a great atmosphere.

This is a great local bar. There was music the night we went. Drinks are reasonably priced. It is a local place but they don't snub new people. Tha atmosphere is great.
Love it here! It's like the old program Cheers! Where everybody knows your name! Love the employees. They all work very hard. Live them all- Dee Dee. I come from far to enjoy it there with my best friends & cousin.
Flew in late on May 18th and found this place. Very cool vibe with an awesome bartender. It was nearly midnight so it was pretty chill! Awesome place, thanks for the Guinness!!! Cheers!
Such an eclectic and neat little place. Very cool LA vibe and excellent drink selection. Also a very nice little patio area to relax and socialize.
Met the owners as I was drunk and philosophical here one night... they were awesome. Such a great bar if you're not a frou frou bunch. Intimate, good music (random but good), and upbeat. Worked down the street and wish I stopped by more, but for now, I will visit when I can. Highly recommend :-D
Beautiful decor, super lively on a Saturday with a full jukebox of great music. Drinks are fairly priced. Cash only! Totally recommend
Cool neighborhood bar. If you go it is all cash but they do have atms. Really good service and bartenders made good drinks.
Awesome place to get great drinks and wind down for the day. A local bar that serves fun and festive atmosphere.
Great vibe and lived up to its name there was blue everywhere! Also went on a jazz night and loved the music! Also sometimes there is a food tent outside as well with great bar foods. It is all cash but that is definitely part of the charm.
A very nice and retro-feel dive bar! Pretty wide selection of drinks and IPAs and not overly expensive. The staff were friendly and attentive too. Would frequent here more.
This place is so quaint and intimate. It's a cash only bar, but it's such a nice experience. I never have to get up from my seat for another drink cause the guys will come around and take care of you round after round. They're all very warm (:
It's not really a dive but it's fancy and i like that classic bar room feel. My kinda spot! I love the baby blue seating. It reminds me of one of those bars you see in the movies from the 50s. It's cash only!
Marvelous quintessential elegant dive bar. Every Tuesday evening beginning at 9pm live jazz, blues and R&B...open Mic for the accomplished vocalists or musicians who wish to sit in on a few songs. Cool blue colored lighting and furniture inside. Oldest bar in Burbank: cash only & ATM inside.
Awesome classic dark dive bar. Great place to hang out with friends and grab a cheap drink. They have big booths and tables and chairs in addition to plenty of bar seating. Darts and a juke box complete the package. And the bartender's and servers are all great!
Professional staff. Friendly environment. Fun crowd. A place where you can feel comfortable amd secure. Safe. It's clean and well maintained. Plenty of seating and tables available A large long patio for intimate conversations and a smoke.
A fantastic piece of history tucked away on the border of Glendale/Burbank. What's crazy is the latenight live jazz on Tuesdays is still going after decades. I've heard Miles Davis and Charlie Parker have played here but you think it's a myth until you get surprised by Stevie Wonder 🤷🏿♀️ Visit and have fun! We love Matt!
The attention to mixology may not be exemplary but when combined with the charm and comfort of the venue you won't notice. This is one of my top three bars in the US. It's definitely number one in California, despite the fact that it gets a bit loud sometimes for such a small space. Good thing there's an amazing outside smoking area with chairs, tables and heaters to help you escape nearly any plight.
An absolute classic bar! I’ve been meaning to get here for years, and glad I finally did! Such amazing cocktails, service, and atmosphere! I will be back!
Step into The Blue Room, a legendary cocktail lounge that has been around since 1947. This classic dive bar offers an impressive selection of liquors and cold beers, along with an accommodating staff and an AMI Jukebox that adds to the ambiance. Make sure to bring cash, as this bar doesn't accept credit or debit cards, but the experience is well worth it. There is an ATM in the back. #TheBlueRoom #DiveBar #burbank #classiccocktaillounge
First time to experience this Burbank dive bar and I would be a regular here if I lived in the area. It’s like stepping into a mid-century modern movie set from the 1960’s. Everything is blue, the lighting, the seats. Drinks are not overly pricey. They do have a back patio if you are looking for that. Very clean and not crazy crowded on a Saturday. The bartenders and patrons and very nice and lively. That vintage neon sign out front sets the tone for the whole experience. I really had a great experience with my friends here. Fun times!
Went for drinks with friends. Super friendly staff, excellent service! New, fav place to hang when in Burbank! Gorgeous decor!
A stellar cash-only dive bar that seems to get it's own share of action. I was on a date and we came after hitting the Haunted Hayride about 7 min away. I'm pretty sure I was about to get hit on by two women but after grabbing my date's hand on the way out, I heard one say to the other "oh, he's on a date". Weird but oddly felt ordinary from a place like this. I remember overhearing a woman say "I love being married!" then leave the place with someone I'm sure wasn't her husband. They have a big liquor selection and a Wi-Fi type jukebox to play whatever you want. The blue booths stand out and the whole theme of the place reminds me of a ship anchored to a port, it's like you stepped into a Captain's ship. I like that they have a food truck outside so if you get hungry they allow you to bring food in while you drink. The bathroom was clean and out of paper towels but luckily I saw the bartender going into the stock room, so i told him and he thanked me and changed it right away. Good place to stop and get a drink.
One of the oldest bars in Burbank. Drinks and shots were reasonable. Bartender was fantastic. Cash Only is super annoying, and music could’ve been louder, but I’d definitely come back here.
Great little bar. Great atmosphere and vibe. Service was on point. Drinks were kept up. Good times!
Classic dive bar in mid-century decor, turquoise blue booths and cash only. Old school classic. No food.
Great little dive bar. Love all the cushioned areas. Cash only is a bit cumbersome though.

Very cool and friendly spot to go after work for couple of drinks with coworkers and friends. Met some very interesting and good people to chat with. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a new spot

This was my first time at the blue room. I am from out of state and visiting family in the area, and decided to check out their blues night that I heard so much about. The place was warm , cozy and welcoming. Everyone was so friendly. Nice tables and comfy chairs and the service was outstanding. Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere was laid-back and casual. The band that played was absolutely fantastic. Truly amazing band. I had a wonderful time. Absolutely love this place. There is parking in the back.
Thank you for being a cash only bar! The rest of this town is skimping out by being card only! I agree that yours is a classic joint! Keep it up.

Love this place it's a classic. Blue blue and blue, everything is blue hence the name hahahaha, if you didn't know. My friend and I always end up coming back here, sitting in a booth and chillin No body bugs, it's dark, there's music (not crazy music) The drinks are well served. We always get whiskey on the rocks so I can't really say if the cocktails are good. There's plenty of booths, bar and tables. Clean restrooms. Nice bartender There should be enough parking but some nights it could be packed. Not a bar to dance or act crazy, it's chill and have a chat.
Cool laid back Blue Bar in Burbank near IKEA of all places... no food or snacks served so you can bring your own or order in with food delivery service. The place has a truly lived in feel. Occasional Live events like tonight's Jazz performance give the place even more cool points.
Love The Blue. Miss John so much. The bartenders are the best except Tony. He is not friendly and I could write a book why. Stay clear when he's there. Trust me on this. I've been going there for over 20 years.
A true dive bar. Drinks are priced fairly, bartenders pour generously, and the atmosphere is unpretentious. I'd give them 5 stars if they had draft beer.
First time sitting at a bar itself since the pandemic started. Hasn't changed in all these years, ( still very blue ) very 1940s, very local!! They managed to stay open almost all this time, privately they were open for a while, but the city made them close. No harm done; it's still fun and fairly inexpensive by standards now. Saw 2 people from dive bar days. Oh,. Good Air Conditioning! An oasis on those Hot Valley Days.
Cash only! There's an ATM inside in case you need it. We stopped by here to kill some time before we had to fly out. Great spot to chill inside where it's laid back and has AC. Restrooms were a bit of a tight space but it makes sense considering that this this dive bar is from the 1940s. Plenty of spots to sit but the tables and chairs can also be a bit of a tight space as well. There's a jukebox for music and a TV you can watch sports on. Drinks were fairly priced and strong enough to give a slight buzz before we headed out to the airport. Bartender was very friendly and told my husband some history of the the bar. They have live music during the weeknights, which is pretty cool. Stevie Wonder had performed here last year and this bar has been used in a few movies too. There is a parking lot in the back so two different entrances to get inside. It's worth checking out if you love dive bars. We'd come back again.

love the fact that chairs have cushions, but be warned it is cash only. potentially also a good place to meet singles. it also has a patio with heaters

Smells bad! This place is ok just to come in and chat with a friend but not to meet new people. Don't dress up, come super casual. Good music. Look for another place if u wanna dress up and meet some single people.
No beer on draught, cash only and very rude owner/staff. Bartender was very rude and pressuring us to leave instead of allowing us to wait inside until the taxi arrived. Other people were allowed to stay after 2am though, who were drinking, but not us or another two quiet people who were also waiting for their taxi. We left a plastic bag that had beer in it because we were being rushed out. Once we realised that, we knocked on the door only to be told we will not get it back because it is illegal to bring beer to their bar. Was not aware of that, just figured as long as it is sealed, bagged, and not consumed on the premises it would be okay. Called the bar today to inform the owner of my experience. A rude bartender answered and when I asked to speak to the owner, I was asked who I was, a "previous customer" wasn't enough for the call to be transferred, the reason being "concerning a recent experience" was not enough. I had to ask more than once to speak to the owner. The owner said he doesn't get complaints and has been opened for many years, says the bartender has been working there for many years and asked if the rudeness was actually humour. Went on to say only locals/regulars get locked in after 2am and help clean up at some stage, so yes it was correct for us to be told to go urgently. He said rudeness at the end of the night is usual for bartenders in general. He said my beer is still there. When I asked if he could ask the bartender to be polite when I come for it because I don't want another unpleasant experience, he said he wouldn't do that because he can't confirm he was actually rude to me. Then he got rather snappy. He said I am dragging on the conversation, asked if I want him to whip and beat the bartender, asked if I want the bartender to be fired, said the bartender was rightfully rude to me if I am in any way like who I am on the phone...Though I was being civil. I advise to avoid this bar. Go somewhere relaxed, with friendly customer service and an understanding owner who takes concerns of customers on board.
Overcrowded hole that always smells like urine. Unfriendly bartenders that literally act like they are doing you a favor for patronizing their business. If you enjoy "hipster" bars full of ignorant people, this is the place for you.
This the worst bar I ever been, they made me move my car from there parking lot after 20 minutes because it's a 20 minutes parking and other customers told me they call parking enforcement and I will get a ticket, first I didn't believe it but when I saw the ticket on my car ... And they denied it , No wonder they have no business And the drinks sucks The worst costumer service ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
You gotta be a townie or drop a lot of money for the bartenders to treat you like a human being. The bar tenders have been there for ages and it's not making the place better. Burbank is changing and businesses need to change with the city. If you don't they will be left behind. Your clientele has changed. Deal with it.
Came from out of town to visit cool bars for my birthday, got a fairly expensive Uber to check this bar out. Bartender seemed impatient and really lacking in customer service, just kinda rude. The biggest thing was on Google it says they’re open until 2am, we only had time for one drink before they called LAST CALL at midnight. Ended up ubering to another bar instead. Kinda just a big disappointment in the middle of bar hopping on my birthday.
Great for yuppies who wanna get the dive experience without actually going to a dive. Make sure you know the bartender, and then they won't card you!
