Calamari was a little bit spicy but great. All the fish are delicious. The butter was something else. One of the most beautiful butter I’ve ever tasted. You should definitely try this before the meal. Great place to eat fish.

For Valentine's day my fiance and I ordered our food through grubhub, they said my order was placed and on it's way then called and said they couldn't place the order. We went to the restaurant and decided to stay. That was our first time there and we are so glad that grubhub messed up. We absolutely loved everything! The decor, the food, the staff, everything! Our waiter Jacob was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good! The salmon was delicious as was the green beans and potatoes. I didn't care too much for the asparagus. My drink was good and strong. My fiance said his porterhouse steak was top shelf, he loved how the outside was cooked crispy but the inside was very juicy. I loved that the staff had masks and gloves, tables were distanced and there were partitions to ensure everyone's safety. Also, Cynthia at the host desk was very friendly and helpful and apologized for the inconvenience and misunderstanding with grubhub although it wasn't her fault at all and had nothing to do with her. I really appreciated that and we definitely will be back!!!

Great atmosphere and very upbeat, pleasant staff. The food was so fresh! Kayla the bartender made some wonderful recommendations and was a pleasure to have while making me feel well taken care of. I have gone twice so far and plan to visit again soon.. perfect spot for after-work drinks, an intimate dinner, drinks with the girls, or a nice hang at the bar on your own.

Absolutely delicious!!! Everything was very good! Service was amazing. The gentleman that was helping our waitress was even more awesome- my water never got below half of the glass! Filet mignon was to die for! So tender and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will be back for sure! Best steak in the area hands down.

The service was amazing. I don’t recall the name of the waitress/bartender but she was such a joy. She made amazing drink & menu recommendations. Kansas City Strip, Sweet potatoes dumpling, creamy Kale & the writers block. All delicious. Will 100% be back.

This place kind of blew me away. The steaks and seafood are phenomenal. We had wine, the seafood tower, some filets, and a cowboy bone-in ribeye. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sides of carrots and mushrooms are super good and the creme brulee is one of the best we've had. Highly, highly recommend. It's totally worth it, but it's not exactly cheap, so bring the check book.

Our dining experience here was just delightful. Superb service with outstanding cuisine. The crab cake appetizer was divine as well as the pork belly. So crispy and everything came out hot. I got the ribeye and I must say it was the best steak I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten at many restaurants and steak houses and this will be in my top 3 if not number one. The steak was perfectly cooked, crispy outside, with the juices it melted in your mouth. If you love steak, seafood and elegance definitely check this spot out. For a foodie it’s a must stop.

Upscale dining in a great area of Albany. Had a good time celebrating at Black and Blue recently. They have a very good location right near Stuyvesant Plaza and very close to UAlbany if parents are visiting students. Classy atmosphere, with large floor to ceiling wine displays. The NY Strip was cooked and presented perfectly with a beautiful char. The main dishes here are Steaks and Seafood, can’t go wrong with either. Service was excellent, so happy with our waiter. Looking forward to going back.

Last Thursday we celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday at Black and Blue Steak and Crab. The decor is absolutely stunning. The service was Flawless and the food was beyond delicious. My husband got the special which was halibut and lobster risotto and he said it was one of the best meals he's ever had . My daughter, sister and myself all got the Salmon with brussel sprouts. We loved every bite. They gave a complimentary dessert to my daughter since she was celebrating her 21st birthday. That was very nice. She has been at UAlbany for 3 years and we've always wanted to check this place out. Wishing now that we had tried it sooner. The only downside is I wish they were closer than 3 hours away. We will certainly be back!

Black and blue steak and crab is to die for! It's so modern and elegant in there. The selection of food is mouth watering. I got the steak which was cooked perfect! The Mac and cheese is not your regular one, it is out of this world. I couldn't stop eating it. The service here is impeccable. The staff are so nice when it comes to drink, they make literally whatever you want to drink. I definitely recommend here!

Great meal. Steak was delicious. Barrell aged manhattan was a great drink. Chopped Salad was almost a meal in itself. Great service and they really try for an upscale experience. Definitely pricey, but the overall product is worth it.

Drinks were on point with taste and presentation. I loved the sparking cosmo. 7oz filet with black truffle butter and the lump crab meat were absolutely amazing! I would definitely be coming back here, especially for the steaks. Their process with the meat is definitely worth a visit. Finished the meal off with oysters, just an array recommended by the waitor. Great choices! So smart staff, lovely atmosphere, delicious food all made for a good date night.

Went there for a birthday celebration with my s/o, our birthdays are close so we wanted to celebrate in between them and I had a yummy rose flight and the espresso martinis did not dissapoint, both of us had seafood (red snapper and a cod) and they were divine and Jeremy the bartender was very kind and attentive and knowledgeable. Def will be coming back! Great food great drinks - don’t hesitate to come here

C

Everything we had here was fantastic! The streak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I opted for a smaller portion steak, while my husband went all out. We were out for a special occasion, so we did opt for dessert as well. The chocolate lava cake will feed 2 (or more!). It's huge-and delicious! The plates are large, so the portions look smaller than they are in the pictures. Definitely going back when I feel like a good steak and/or seafood.

We had my sister's graduation dinner here. When our party of 12 arrived, we were promptly escorted to our table. Our waiters were fantastic, and the food was even better. We tried most of the appetizers, and they were all good. had the lamb chop and spicy margarita. 10 out of 10 recommend.

Terrific experience and everyone involved was great! I contacted the restaurant before we arrived because one of the guests has a food digestive issue. Jillian understood my concerns immediately and said she would notify the chef and wait staff. When we arrived Henry greeted us and mentioned that he was aware of my concerns. We all ordered food and beverages. The food was delicious and delivered timely. Henry went the extra step to assure us of a safe and healthy meal. He even made sure there was gluten free rolls and a special chocolate cake. This was a good experience from start to finish. Thanks

After years, of not going back this was the first time and I was finally very impressed. We didn’t like how the steaks were oversalted year after year after year so we decided to never go again well it’s been five years and they finally made a smart decision and took that of salt off of their steaks. I’m sure I’m not the only one that was complaining about the oversalted meat, but the staff was amazing very friendly, beautiful atmosphere and the food was really really good. My scallops were just a tad bit undercooked but still very tasty and delicious. I will be returning for another visit to try other menu items.

Went here for dinner on the last Friday of the year. Had the bistro steak w/sea scallops, Mac n cheese, creamy kale which were all perfectly delicious! Crab and lobster fondue as a starter was to die and didn't slack on the meat in it. Sparkling Cosmo was refreshing. Wait staff were all very pleasant.

Been frequenting black and blue for a few years now. Decided tonight was a good time to add a review. Henry, a consummate gentleman, as well as Jeremy were very warm, polite and attentive. Big fan of these guys and encouraged a positive experience, as always. Thanks, men, for making us feel welcome and special

Love this place. Can't say anything more about it. Great food choices, menu, and drinks. Disappointed that lamb was removed from menu, and we were given a subpar reason as to why. However, other options are still good. I love coming here. Worth every penny.

This place is more expensive than I'm used to, but I have to say it was worth every penny. Service is incredibly attentive, the food was every bit as good as I hoped at a high-end steak-and-seafood place. Went on my birthday with my elderly mother, and she loved it too. Solid five stars in my book. One of the Capital Region's finest, for sure.

I sat at the bar for the first time here. The bartender, Brendan was very attentive and on point about the food and drinks. I’m a bit of a foodie and he answered my questions with grace. It was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and I definitely recommend the asparagus. I ordered the the ribeye and the seasoning matched it perfectly. I normally don’t have dessert after a heavy meal but the banana cream truffle was so light and creamy (with a bit of crunch on top) I didn’t feel as if I overate. I’ll certainly return here and recommend this location to anyone.

We had a great dinner! This was our first time here, and we sat at the bar prior to dinner. Ralph the bartender greeted us with a smile and made us some amazing martinis! When seated, we were served by Neil and Alex. Our food was exceptional. (Sidenote: they have gluten free rolls if you ask) Zach recommended some wine and told us a bit about the winemaker. Overall it was a great experience.

Black & Blue Steak and Crab is a great restaurant for a casual dinner or for a special occasion. The food is very good, and the service is excellent. Our party of six was there to celebrate an anniversary and enjoyed a relaxing meal without feeling rushed. My favorite side dish was the sweet potato puffs. For dessert a few of us shared the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It was a yummy way to end a great meal.

J

I think black & blue is the best steakhouse in the capital region. The steaks are perfectly cooked, they have options for cuts and sauces, and the seafood, appetizers, and sides are comparably good as well. The service is excellent! We had the calamari and lobster/crab fondue. Both were well seasoned, the calamari in particular is a must-order item. We tried the New York strip, kansas city bone-in strip, filet mignon, and lamb. All of these were flavorful and perfectly cooked. They use a high temperature oven, which works well for a properly medium rare steak. I highly recommend the truffle butter and red wine sauce, and the gorgonzola of course for those who like that. For sides the mac n cheese, different vegetables, and potatoes were fairly standard— they are nice to share. Our server was very kind, took a picture for us, and gave us great recommendations. The other staff kept our waters refilled, promptly replaced silverware after appetizers were finished, and were careful handling knives. The interior of the restaurant is nice, standard classy steakhouse vibe with a two story wine display in the center.

We went for our 20th anniversary which was mentioned when making the reservation...we were greeted with a champagne toast which was really a nice touch! For our Appetizer, which came on in a flash, we had the calamari, it was so tender and flavorful it just melted in our mouths! To drink, I had the "Sweet & Spicy" which was one of the best spicy margaritas I've ever had! My husband had the "Outside In" a gin drink that was so delicious! For our meals we ordered the Ribeye with black truffle butter, Cauliflower au gratin, and a special which was Strip Loin with Crab leg meat and some very delicious sauces. The meat was cooked perfectly, with a little smokey flavor. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. An excellent meal for a special occasion!

From the moment we stepped into your establishment, we were captivated by the exquisite ambience. The soft lighting, elegant decor created a truly sophisticated atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. But the true star of the show was, without a doubt, the exquisite food menu. Your offerings were unlike anything we'd encountered before, highlighting a unique blend of innovative ingredients, international influences, seasonal highlights. Each dish was a masterpiece, a testament to the culinary artistry of your chefs. We were particularly impressed by Calamari, Crab Cake, Cauliflower Gratin and Roasted Organic Chicken. The melt-in-your-mouth texture of the scallops, the explosion of flavors in the curry, the perfectly balanced sweetness of the dessert. The presentation was equally stunning, a visual feast that complemented the delightful taste sensations. It's clear that you take immense pride in creating a truly special dining experience, and it shows in every aspect of your restaurant. From the attentive and knowledgeable staff who guided us through the menu to the exceptional food and ambience, everything came together seamlessly to create a truly memorable evening.

One of the best restaurant experiences. The service, the food, atmosphere! All of it. Drinks- Kyoto sour! Delicious! Also the sweet and spicy was great too. Food- the NY strip was so good! Juicy and full of flavor and kind of crispy. Loved it. The scallops! Amazing with the pea risotto! Delicious! Can’t say enough things. This place was incredible! Will definitely be back and experience some other dishes. Katina was awesome!!! Very helpful and gracious!

Update: After my previous review, the Black and Blue team got in touch with me. They apologized for the inconvenience we experienced and went above and beyond to make it up to us with a very thoughtful gesture. We truly appreciate it and are looking forward to our next visit. (5 stars for the response and customer service upon my original review) ————————————————————— Original review: (4 stars) My fiancé and I recently visited this restaurant for our early Valentine's Day dinner. Overall, the experience was pleasant, with a nice, upscale atmosphere and mostly good food. However, there were a couple of disappointments. We started with the Wagyu meatballs, which were a bit dry, but the sauce that accompanied them was delicious, making them enjoyable nonetheless. For our main courses, my fiancé chose the ribeye and I had the scallop risotto—both dishes were fantastic. Unfortunately, the hashbrowns we ordered as a side did not meet expectations. They appeared to be frozen. It was a bit confusing because the outside very was crispy, but the inside was ice cold, and you could tell it was frozen. We considered mentioning the issue to our server, but they didn't visit our table often, and we usually prefer not to make a fuss as it makes everything uncomfortable. Despite this experience, my previous experiences at this restaurant have been excellent. This time, I had a good time with my fiancé, but I left feeling slightly disappointed as this is not a cheap restaurant.

It is our first time dining at Black & Blue during our trip. It is a hidden gem in the NY area. The ambiance is ideal for a romantic date or a gathering with friends. The food is exceptional and delectable. The steak is tender and seasoned to perfection. The cauliflower is creamy with a delightful crunch from the baked cheese. The polenta served with my scallops is rich in flavor and satisfying. We end our meal with the flourless chocolate cake and truffles. I wish this restaurant is closer to my home, but I will certainly return if I am in the area again.

Overall, an OK experience. The food was very good, however the steak was not cooked as requested. We had to wait a while before we could flag someone down to help us. For the same reason, we did not get water refilled for a while. Atmosphere was quiet, music was good and good volume, but the above negatively affected the experience. Compared to our earlier experiences here (which were great!), and because of the money spent, the overall experience this time was not up to standard.

One of the best steaks I have had in Capitaland, cooked perfectly. Nice wine selection. Very attentive service. Beware that adding scallops as a side is costly - two nickel-sized scallops, seared poorly, for $25. Similar experience when adding a side of shrimp. Very small portions for these, despite the formidable price.

Always a wonderful experience. We have eaten both at the bar & in the dining room. The bartenders are fantastic, very friendly & attentive. My family and friends went to Black & Blue Steakhouse in Albany for a birthday celebration, and the entire experience was excellent. Our table service by Kat was fantastic—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was handled. The food came out perfectly prepared. I ordered the Wagyu steak, which was cooked just right, and my daughter had the salmon, which she loved. They even plated, dressed up, and served a cake we brought in, cutting it for the table and making it feel special. From start to finish, the evening was completely taken care of. A fantastic experience all around.

As we dine in black and blu steak house celebrating my friend's birthday, I am filled with gratitude for this incredible experience. I highly recommend this exceptional establishment to everyone, for the outstanding cuisine, although pricey, is truly worth it. The service is exemplary, surpassing that of other restaurants in the area, with the manager, waiters, and waitresses all delivering top-notch service. I would return here a million times, thank you to everyone for your outstanding service, you are the epitome of excellence.

I'm disappointed I took photos of just the dessert, and not if the main dishes. Spent the weekend in Albany for an event, B&B rival the best restaurants of NYC. Truly, one of the best culinary experiences to date. The steak, the sides, the dessert, and most importantly, each person we came in contact with were best in class. It's a shame I live 4 hrs away.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since 2022. We actually had our first date here and so this place has always had a special place in our hearts. BUT Ryan, our waiter (who we request EVERY time), has made the experience all the more amazing every and each time. We really appreciate the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. We always end up coming earlier than our reservation time and get a couple of drinks by the bar - service at the bar is also always amazing. If you’re debating where to go to dinner, definitely swing by bc its an amazing experience. Also if you love cheesy goodness I recommend the hash browns (Ryan put us on them and they are so good - he honestly deserves a raise!!)

Had a wonderful experience here two nights in a row. Sat at the bar both nights. Ralph is a wonderful bar tender, for sure. The first night I had the calamari for appetizer and then the filet and fries shrimp for dinner which I absolutely looooved. The filet was cooked perfectly to temp and very tender. We finished things off with the dessert that's kinda like a cheesecake in a cup (can't remember the name). Everything was wonderful. The second night I had the lobster fondue for appetizer and I was pretty disappointed in this dish. It was soupy (think more cream and barely any cheese) and I didn't see much crab or lobster meat. It was also cold in the center and only became luke warm after stirring it up. However, Ralph comp'd our next round which I thought was really nice. The ribeye with the truffle butter and gorgonzola sauce was ridiculously good and completely made up for the less-than-appetizing appetizer. We were too full for dessert but that's okay too. Would definitely go back if I were ever in Albany again. The only thing I will say is, it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get your food. Both nights I waited almost an hour for my food. After traveling for work and going to lots of great places, maybe I've come to expect a lot. But I did tell my coworker that second night "be prepared, we're going to be waiting awhile". Sure enough it got to the point where she was getting upset and antsy. Would be a much better experience if they had faster kitchen service 🥂

Excellent service provided by Ryan. He was on top of everything including spectacular wine recommendations. Food was exquisite. Steak cooked to perfection. All sides served hot with great flavor. The cauliflower was on point. Martinis were made just right. One of the best we’ve had. The espresso was a little lean on the bean but we made due. Highly recommend

Decor and ambiance is amazing, service was spectacular. We ordered the Salmon, Ribeye, and Short Ribs for dinner and the oysters and Shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The Salmon was cooked just the way we like it, a little crispy on the oustide. The Short Ribs didn't have any bones and were so tender. We were concerned that the cherry glaze would be over bearing, but you hardly notice it. My only disappointment was my Ribeye, it is served on a hot plate while this makes for great presentaion, I feel it over cooked my steak. I ordered my steak medium, which I think is how it arrived, but it was definitely medium well by the time I finished my steak. It did taste great and I really liked the rub they used, I just wished it didn't continue cooking while I was eating.

Black & Blue Steak and Crab is quite expensive and everything is a la carte, but it was excellent and the company I had was great. I felt it was a bit too cold to thoroughly enjoy my experience. If you want to impress someone or someone else is paying I recommend.

Went here for my wife's birthday, I ordered the Red Snapper, and she ordered the Ribeye, we also ordered the 8 piece oyster appetizer, two bowls of she-crab soup, and for sides we ordered the grilled asparagus, and French fries. First thing I'll say is that the Oysters were really good, even my wife enjoyed two of them, and she doesn't normally eat oysters. The she-crab soup, was absolutely fantastic, definitely worth it, and I recommend saving a piece of of the pretzel bread they give you in the complementary bread basket, to dip it in the soup. When it comes to the entrees, my red snapper was really good, the edges of the fish were crispy and the middle was soft and buttery, and the sweet potato puree under the fish was better than I expected. My wife's steak was cooked well, but she mentioned that it seemed overly greasy, and the rosemary kind of overwhelmed the flavor of the steak. She got the garlic butter, and horseradish sauce with the steak, but she didn't really need the butter, and the horseradish sauce somehow robbed the steak of its natural saltiness. We both agreed that the herb aioli that came with the French fries, was the best sauce we had, and actually asked for two more to-go cups of that sauce for our fries, which we ended up taking home with us.

Great waitress and service on New Year's Eve dinner. Wine was excellent and seafood tower superb. Steaks were beautifully prepared with sauces of your choice. Hey, lots of bulbs out at the bar and our table. Details are important.

Went here for dinner and the place itself is beautiful inside. Many different lights fixtures, the ambiance was great. The temperature was a bit chilly which was odd since it’s not winter out yet, which made it much less cozy than it could have been. The servers seem to work in “teams” which is nice but also doesn’t really mean you get extra or more attention. Unsure of how that works there. Anyway, “both” servers were very nice and friendly, making small talk and also providing recommendations and descriptions of dishes perfectly. They offered to split a shared salad for us at no extra cost and that was AMAZING! Next second course, steak and sides. Everything came out looking and smelling delicious. The ribeye itself was “warm” not quite hot which would have been preferred but regardless it was cooked to temp and was tasty… it even had a bit of char which is my absolute favorite ! The sides (cauliflower au gratin, Mac and cheese and Mexican corn) were large and definitely perfect side for sharing for 2-4 people, depending on appetite. All of them were tasty, my personal fave was the Mexican street corn it was PHENOM! Would 100% recommend that as a side. Last dessert, creme brûlée and peanut butter budino. Both were so satisfying and the perfect ending to a delightful meal. We ended up taking quite a bit of food home, including the budino because we were just so stuffed ! The servers made everything smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure back to try more options!

Went for my uncle's birthday. Our waiters were kind and attentive. We shared the calamari appetizer, which was delicious!!!!! The texture and flavor were great. I ordered the scallops with risotto. The scallops were delicious, the risotto was mostly good except there were some crunchy pieces of rice. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals.

Delicious steak and potatoes. Asparagus were too big and under seasoned. Lobster Mac could also use work. We had a hair in our butter, but the bread was still good without it. Men's bathroom could use some cleaning. Manual paper towel dispenser. Sink grout not cleanly done. Generally lacking that 'fine dining' finish / cleanliness. Our service was excellent and overall it was an enjoyable experience, we will be back.

Food was delicious, service was excellent, waitress extremely pleasant (she talked to us like she'd been our friend for years). Second time here. My only gripe is the fact that the seating was falling apart. With the bill price, they should have more than enough $$ to fix the seating.

Black & Blue is a steakhouse with an excellent atmosphere and truly incredible service. The staff was attentive, professional, and made the experience very pleasant. As for the food, I personally found my steak a bit overcooked for my taste. That said, the menu looked interesting overall, and I could see myself going back to try other dishes and form a more complete opinion. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, especially for a date. The ambiance and service really make it a nice place to spend an evening.

Food was tasty and hot, but the portion size seemed smaller than it was in the past. Very attentive servers. A group which included young children, was seated next to us and despite them making noise, somehow it did not effect us! We were able to have a conversation without raising our voices.

Went a few days ago and ordered the lobster and crab fondue to start, a ribeye steak as the main with a side of lobster mac and cheese. Fondue came on a sizzling pan but it came with a cold, hard pop over. Fondue was good but the popover was too cold and hard to eat. The ribeye was unseasoned, lack of salt/other spices. Tasted like they seared the steak and put it on the plate. Ordered the steak medium and the temperature came out perfect, but again lacked any flavor. Lobster Mac and cheese was good and although I am not a fan of lobster, it was pretty decent. Service wasn’t also that great. For a steakhouse with their prices, I shouldn’t have to ask for refills on water. Overall good spot given the atmosphere but the food is lacking, especially for the price. Wouldn’t go again unless the food gets better or the prices drop significantly.

Ambiance is nice, went for dinner on a Wednesday. Probably the driest piece of fish I’ve ever had, but the Brussels sprouts and oysters were tasty. All side dishes are a-la-carte. The wine selection was nice, sat in a booth by the bar. I wasn’t in the mood to order dessert, but the waiter still brought me a few chocolates to celebrate.

Apps were on point. Steaks? Next-level—perfectly cooked, packed with flavor. But what really made the night was the service—fast, friendly, and genuinely dialed in. They treated us like VIPs without the pretension. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I've driven by this place more times than I can count and finally decided to give it a try.To say it was a disappointment would be putting it lightly. The calamari was overwhelmingly seasoned with pepper to the point it gave me a sour stomach almost instantly;for the first time in my life I actually had to send it back,I couldn't be a trooper and just try to enjoy it,I legitimately couldn't eat it.The servers were extremely understanding and apologized, service overall was actually really really good. When the main courses came the portions were comical for the price,no sides or extras included for at an extremely high price point;do not come here hungry and expect to be anywhere near full on a main entrée alone. For the price and hype, not worth it at all, many better options.

Pretty average overall. Good steak but crab legs were rubbery. The restaurant looked nice and waiters were attentive, but the place was wayy too expensive for the quality of food. Could’ve gotten a steak from longhorn or Texas Roadhouse and had a equal experience

The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Our wait staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. We started with two appetizers one of which was calamari. It was over cooked and difficult to both chew and swallow. We waited well over an hour for our meals. I had ordered filet mignon medium and received it medium rare. I asked if it could be cooked just a little bit more and it was returned to me well done. I expected a little more from this restaurant.

Overall I was disappointed. With prices where they are, I was expecting perfection. While the service was stellar and the atmosphere comfortable, I have never seen such a small porterhouse steak. Additionally, it was not cooked to my requested temperature and the flavor just ok. Appetizers were delicious, but fairly small portions. It was the first time I have ever left a steakhouse hungry. I'll pass on this one next time.

I planned a nice evening for Valentine’s Day…my medium rare ribeye was overcooked, tough and tasteless. Ordered the key lime pie…again a disappointment. Doubtful I will ever go back.

Celebrated our 34th anniversary dinner here tonight and was hugely disappointed. Heard good things about this restaurant so we decided to try it out. Should have went to Ruth. Grid’s like my wife wanted to. Was seated at a two person table and right away you know it is going to be very cramped, and we were right. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and calamari and both were good, two of the shrimp were soggy at the ends but they were ok. My wife ordered the Red Snapper and I ordered the Roasted Chicken but was told that the restaurant has been out of chicken for a few nights ( how does a restaurant run out of chicken ??), so ordered the Kansas City bone in steak ( just a piece of meat served on a sizzling platter, under seasoned ) ordered two sides, mashed potatoes, very bland, and Asparagus. Our food was brought out but no sides, waited about 5 mins for our waiter to come over to see how everything turned out and by the time our sides came out our food had cooled off. The worst part of the meal was the service, our waiter never came over very to see if we wanted an another drink, sides came out 5 mins after the food was delivered. The whole meal was something you would get at the Longhorn Steak house. Just very disappointing!! Won’t be back.

We decided to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Black & Blue as we had an excellent experience on our last visit. We were seated promptly. The wine proved to be wonderful and the server was friendly. As an appetizer, we ordered the Seafood Tower. It was on the skimpy side and most definitely a lot smaller than the last time. There were a few specials offered that evening. However, when attempting to order the one featuring Filet Mignon with Sea Scallops and potato, we were informed that it was no longer available, even though it was still early (only 6:30pm). Fortunately, the Filet Mignon ordered off the regular menu proved to be most satisfactory. The other 2 guests ordered the other special - a 16 ounce dry-rubbed NY Strip. Though tasty and cooked perfectly, the cut was tougher than expected, so rather disappointing. The Ribeye would have been a better choice all around. The sides - sweet potato dumplings and mushrooms - were just okay. While the wine glasses were attentively refilled, the water glasses were not. We enjoyed our booth at the bar. The atmosphere was great, but our table had 2 of the 3 bulbs in the overhead lamps burned out. We were told that this is apparently an issue throughout the restaurant...not sure why. And, last but not least, we had an itsy-bitsy spider visit us mid-way through our meal. Thankfully, we saw it dangling on a web above our table and got rid of it asap. Overall, we had a nice time. Yet, maybe expectations were set too high, or maybe it was due to the hectic nature of the holiday, but I really had hoped for more! Details matter a whole lot to me!

I was expecting better food wise for the price point here. Calamari was ok, steaks were nothing special, subpar for what I was expecting. Service is pretty good and atmosphere is hit or miss depending on screaming kids. Another small detail I noticed was our table was very wobbly. Had to hold it down with my foot the entire time or our drinks would spill. Paid almost $300 for 2 people for food I can make better at my house.

Despite differences in ordering preferences all of the steaks came out medium rare. The asparagus is clearly labeled on the menus having pickled onion. If you choose the brussel sprouts which do not indicate that, they will have pickled onions on them they too. However I was told the place is normally better.

We started off with the braised pork belly, while pork belly has some fat, this had ALOT of fat, while the meat itself tasted good, the outside was burnt, and the seasoning sauce was overly salty and sweet at the same time. My wife had the rib-eye ordered medium rare. It comes out on a sizzling platter, while the first few bites were medium rare, by the end it’s still cooking and was a tougher medium. The meat itself was good. I ordered the Red Snapper. I don’t think I’ve ever had fish taste that “fishy” before. I asked the waiter if it was frozen and he said they get fish delivered once a week and they keep it on ice, but not frozen. “What?!?!” There’s no way fish is lasting a week “on ice”. That went back. They way things were going I decided to get the simplest dish, the mushroom pappardelle. It was okay, by okay I mean, it was good except it was waaaaaaaay too buttery, I never not finish my food, but this I felt like I would have had a heart attack if I did. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side, continuing the trend, they were way too sweet. On the plus side, service is top notch, they are very attentive and the waiter was super apologetic about the food. It was my birthday and I did get a free piece of cake and two chocolate truffles. I had a piece of the cake and it was good. I was too full to try the truffles, but my wife said they were very good. Looks like desserts are the best thing here. In short, they try waaay too hard with the flavoring, using too much salt, sugar and butter.

My husband & I visited yesterday. The service was 10/10. The food 0/10 Cleanliness of dining area 0/10 Restrooms 0/10 There was dust build up in multiple places that should at least be cleaned weekly. I would recommend hiring a professional cleaner that has an eye for detail. To add when a steak is ordered medium well try not to bring it out extremely well done.

We were a party of four on 12/6. Drinks took a bit and we were never offered any bread. Three of the four of us ordered a special with a sliced sirloin and lump crab on top. The beef was incredibly tough and the crab, cold. We also ordered oysters, which were very small, and shrimp cocktail, also very small and not cooked well-limp and very small. The wedge salad and wagyu appetizer were amazing (especially the bacon on the salad); as were the sides for the table- mashed potatoes and cauliflower au gratin. We also ordered a pound of king crab legs ($90) for the table. That was two legs- one for each couple. They came with two butters over a candle. The legs and the butter were ice cold. We each had two drinks. The bill was over $600. The atmosphere was amazing, but the meals were unimpressive. The flavor was great, but the beef was incredibly tough. This certainly did not meet our expectations. We won’t be back.

I want to begin with how nice our waiter was, he was so nice and welcoming. I took my nephew and my 2 year old son to celebrate my birthday, my son was playing and laughing when the restaurant manager came and asked me to leave because there’s other guests, excuse me? Wasn’t sitting there for free, paid 100$ for crappy food. It was so disgusting!

Food was not worth the price, nearly everything our party had was bland and or cold. Service was extremely slow and our party was there for nearly an hour after they closed waiting for the bill and to pay as well. I had to find out waiter to tell him we were ready to pay. The only redeeming qualities were the drinks and the atmosphere but that won't change the fact that I'm never going back.

Dear manager, on Monday, August 18, 2025 I Visited black and blue steak and crab for dinner. My son had a reservation and we were seated Promptly.. waiters very polite and we ordered, my son got the cowboy steak and I asked for the fillet well done 7 ounce. When it came, it looked like a piece of rock, I did not wanna embarrass my son or cause any problems so I did not take a picture of it, but scraped off the black it ate what I could. I understand when your order well done me it may be difficult. The waiter suggested flying it and I agreed. I have had that same steak at Ruth’s Chris and it came out entirely different. I know your menu said something about well. Done me being royal. I do not believe this was ever put under a broiler or it was left there too long. I appreciate your listening to something. I do not have any proof of what the state that was given to me on the plate was disgusting. Thank you.

I was there for my wife’s company Christmas party. We were scheduled for 7:30 and had to wait over 45 minutes for the room to be available due to the previous party taking more time than allotted. When we finally did get seated, the waiter was incredibly rude and acted like we were a bother. I’ve never been treated like that by a server, esp in a “fine” dining restaurant. We were rushed the entire time, basically pushing us out the door. All of our meals were subpar, mine was the worst filet I’ve ever had. My wife and coworker don’t like theirs either. None of the temps were correct and the sides were cold. Polar opposite experience than what we had the previous year. Will no longer be getting our business and will be making sure to let people know how this restaurant treats its patrons.

This place has totally gone downhill. Menu is the same old same old, no specials offered. Service was absolutely terrible, waited and waited for drinks, food and attention at the bar. Watched people leave waiting on food and drinks. Appetizers arrived barely warm, no check in after that. Decided to leave and not even bother with dinner. Burger King next door would've been a better choice. What a waste of time and money on a cold night. I bought gift cards for family for Christmas and now I'm worried they will have the same terrible experience.

I had high expectations for this restaurant as I heard good things about this restaurant. Before I get to the bad , let me shout out Katina for her amazing service. She was so personal, accommodating and pleasant. Blue also was very nice. The menu was pretty limited. Calamari, order and it was soaked in spicy sauce instead of nicely fried with the peppers as advertised on their menu. We wouldn't have mind paying for the food if the quality of the food was good. It wasn't. The steak ordered. Out of the 3 steaks, there was no seasoning, flavor and dry. Nothing came with the steak, ok fine...but the steaks were not good. It took a long time for our food to come out. The part that bothered us the most is that it seemed like several staff members were watching our table. We weren't rude or disrespectful, we were celebrating a birthday. I felt like they didnt think we could pay for our food. But we had no problem paying. We will not return back here to eat. Our waitress, Katina remembered the cake and made sure we had everything she need. I wish the food left the same great taste in our mouth like see did. Thank you Katina!

When I walked into Blue Halo the ambience was a perfect 10 out of 10. The décor was stunning and the energy felt upscale and inviting. I had high expectations after seeing all the great reviews. We started with drinks and the crab and lobster fondue, which was incredible. Creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with pita bread. That was easily the best part of the night. Unfortunately, the main dishes were disappointing. My grouper came out raw in the middle, so I sent it back and ordered the red snapper instead. When that plate arrived, it was even rawer. At that point I decided not to risk getting sick. I still tipped the waitress because she was kind and professional, but the chef earned a one star from me. I left hungry, disappointed, and with a seventy-six dollar bill. Blue Halo is a beautiful restaurant with great ambience and potential, but the kitchen needs serious attention. If you go, make sure your food is cooked all the way through. I will not be returning.

I’ve visited four times this restaurant. Highly inconsistent with the meat terms. To the amount of money you spend, is for everything to be spot on. Service is top notch, the team is highly attentive and well trained. Unfortunately, we received poor cooked items multiple times during visits. (Overcooked meat, raw/burnt hash browns). I pay for the food not for the setting. Not going back. $200.00 dinner for two. Not worth it.
