Great little artsy café. Cozy, clean, DELICIOUS and overall great atmosphere. Different rooms for whatever vibe you’re looking for. A more central dining area great for socializing and quiet nooks for studying, working or just some peace and quiet to enjoy your coffee break a bit more privately. The coffee is great and not any more expensive than a starbucks, and the food is really good and fresh. Keep this place in business! I’m not from the local area, but I visit often and this has made it on my list of stops to make while here.
This place checks all the boxes for a top notch coffee shop - full service but with a mom and pop vibe (they are NOT a chain), a variety of beans and roasts every day, delicious handmade pastries and sammiches, welcoming ambience inside and on the patio, and a super-friendly staff. I would only ask that they move the entire operation closer to my house so I can walk there. Washington Park area. Thanks in advance. 😝
Best workshop/cafe in the area by a long shot. Don't be thrown off by the big box strip mall style location—the interior is great, tons of seating in a few different rooms and spaces that each have a bit of their own vibe. And plenty of outdoor tables too which, though they're sort of in a parking lot, are still a great place to get some work done
This place easily became a staple in my household. Early morning weekend runs to Professor Java's for my family is now routine. I love their selections and the fact that I can get a really good decaf latte. My favorite decaf tea latte is Zims Coo-coo-cachoo. No idea what that means but get it. It's GOOD!
We have been coming to PJ for years! We loved the old location- I think it just had a cozy feeling, but totally understand the move for more room- more kitchen space, more tables, more everything. I love the artwork that is on exhibit and changes frequently. The coffee is delicious, the muffins are amazing and the brownies?!? Get one of each. Love them!! We have had yummy breakfast sandwiches, wraps & bagels. You really can’t go wrong. A must visit!
Always a great spot for a quick cup of goodness - ☕️ coffee, tea, or otherwise. As a discerning tea drinker I always have options which is great and not always the case at a coffee place. I do have to remind some folks still that they have moved down the road and in the plaza on Wolf Rd, but the immense parking and more is worth the explanation to those not in the know. It’s a great spot for a meetup as well as there, I often have networking or client meetings there and it is always easy.
This place is definitely an awesome vibe. Chill music that's not to loud with a very large seating area. There's multiple rooms, and it's easy to find yourself tucked away watching a live stream of a bird in its bird house. The food was flexible although I'd prefer to see more vegetarian friendly options (although I didn't look through the hard menu) but they were accommodating to remove bacon from one of the breakfast bagel sandwiches to make it vegetarian. There looked to be a lot of different coffee bean options also so if you're into coffee, and different blends you'll enjoy this spot.
If you’re old school Javas fans you know the house that Javas started in. Nothing will be better than that but this new location still makes me keep a Javas 😊 smile on my face. High ceilings and wide open with two rooms nestled in the back (similar to the old spot). They roast their own coffee still and keep creating delicious sandwiches, wraps and drinks. Prices are less than “the Bucks” place but more than Stewart’s. All food is made to order and most of the baked goods are made onsite (such good cookies!!!!) Free WiFi and lots of room to sit and get things done, plug in and accomplish what you need to.
Atmosphere is spot on. The separate rooms to sit and work in the back are such a great gift! There are so many options and so many unique options on the menu it was hard to pick! What we received exc…

Delicious iced mocha latte with oat milk and comfortable outside couch seating, shady on a hot day. A good spot to meet friends before/after a trip to the Albany airport.
Any time I travel, I give it my best effort to visit as many local coffee shops as possible. I am an avid Chemex coffee brewer so hotel coffee just doesn't cut it for me. Luckily Professor Java…
My husband and I went on a Thursday morning and there were only a few other people there so it was very quick and friendly service. I had the chunky monkey latte (banana and mocha) and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. My husband had an americano and the French piggie (croissant with bacon, ham, egg and cheese). Everything was delicious and both plates came with a couple slices of pineapple which was a nice surprise. There are a few different rooms to sit in and we chose the library room so I could read for an hour in the comfy chair. There was a “take one, leave one” book shelf which was cute. I gave one less star because it is kind of dim and chilly, concrete floors, only 1 comfy chair vibes. Not super hygge. Despite that very small critique I will absolutely return to try more of their offerings and likely an espresso brownie. Yum!
On this chilly Saturday morning between 10:30am and 11:30am remarkable lines of people stretched from the counter to the entrance door which is about 30 feet. Somehow, I managed to beat the rush. I s…

Plenty of space for people to sit down and enjoy a coffee and a treat! Sit down inside or if the weather is nice outside space available too. Lots of parking nearby.

Coffee was amazing. Wish they had vegan breakfast sandwiches. At least they have vegan baked goods though. Super cute shop. Fast service.

Went today with 2 friends of mine. The place is cute and decently decorated. Somewhat difficult to read the hand printed menus from the line but at the register we noticed the printed menus. Everyone was friendly but the food took a long time to come out. Maybe the person making the food was new but it was a long wait for some simple breakfast sandwiches and wraps. We are not impressed with the food. The wrap was wet and the turkey sandwich had chunks of deli style turkey like I've never seen before. Instead of thin sliced they were chunks of deli meat. Very odd. I ended up removing them from my sandwich. The coffee drinks were excellent, however, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. I would return for a great cafe' style coffee drink but their food menu needs to be reworked. Everyone who worked there was pleasant!
Iced coffees were lukewarm. Muffins were just ok. We sat outside, which was nice as long as you don't mind looking at a parking lot. Inside looked cute
Personally, I like the ambiance, but I am not a fan of burnt coffee. As much as I would love to support them, even their lightest roast is over done. The other day the light-roast was darker than a…

This was... interesting. The person taking my order was super kind and patient while we figured out what we wanted. I ordered a chicken caprese panini (i think that's what it was) and requested it be on whole wheat instead of white bread, a medium mocha latte and a ham and egg breakfast quesadilla. The medium mocha was the size of a large which I did not mind at all. But it wasn't... that good for a coffee shop. The closer to the bottom I got, the more I struggled to drink it. The quesadilla came on a spinach wrap which they don't indicate anywhere, and was dry. My kid isn't a picky eater and he didn't finish it. Took half home and he gave it to the dog. He didn't like it, to my surprise. The panini was actually delicious. Very delicious! However when the person fixing it first set the plate down it was not hot/panini pressed. I gently asked "Is this supposed to be a hot sandwich?" Because sometimes I don't pay attention. She just looked at me and said "yeah it is hot." I said, well it's a panini and its supposed to be pressed like the quesadilla. Also I asked for this on wheat bread and it's on white. The person who took my order kept his expression blank but assisted by putting the sandwich on the panini press. Still no wheat bread. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The food took quite a long time for a quick fix coffee shop (and only a sandwich and quesadilla) over 20 minutes. The one person working was sweet, the other... maybe it was her first day? The coffee size was great, the coffee and flavor not so great. Too inconsistent.
I love the atmosphere of Professor Java’s. That is about where my positivity stops. While they served me fast, the food was not of high quality. The eggs were pre-cooked patties, and my breakfast sandwich was overly salty. The soup I ordered had a good flavor, but the noodles in it turned to mush as picked them up with the spoon. I also ordered latte, which tasted burnt, so that I couldn’t enjoy the flavor of the espresso. Just hard to justify paying $30 for this meal. People who ordered lunch sandwiches/ wraps seemed to be more satisfied with their meal.
We’ve visited here before for a late Sunday lunch/early dinner and never had an issue, but our experience yesterday was incredibly frustrating. After sitting at a table for 10 minutes looking over the menu, we went to the counter to order, only to be told the kitchen was closed. We understand that things happen—staffing issues or equipment failures are part of the business—but there was no signage and no one bothered to mention it while we were sitting there. What made it an issue was the employee’s attitude. We were met with an extremely rude and condescending tone, as if we were supposed to magically know the kitchen was closed. There was no apology or explanation, just pure annoyance that we tried to order. If the interaction had been reasonably polite, we wouldn't have thought twice about it. Unfortunately, the "how dare you" attitude means we won't be rushing back.
Worse experience ever bad customer service and coffee and breakfast were horrible. No flavor in the coffee and breakfast sandwich was missing cheese and it was cold. Stay away from the place
Written by my wife, posted by me. I was treated very disrespectfully here and publicly humiliated. On Saturday, December 20th around 11 AM I went to get a latte. The person taking the order was pleasant. I politely asked for a large hot latte with 2% milk, no flavors. The cashier clarified that I wanted 2% milk. She took my name and said they would call me up when the order was ready. A few minutes later my name was called and the person who prepared the order placed it on the counter, saying my name and adding “Hot latte, skim.” I said “That’s my name but I asked for 2% milk.” He replied “We only have skim and whole.” I said, “I have gotten 2% here before, it’s just a mix of skim and whole.” He raised his voice, saying, “SO, YOU DON’T WANT THIS?!” I said “No thank you.” Whereupon he turned from me and THREW the cup at the sink. The lid exploded off the cup and the hot liquid flew up in the air, and the liquid landed in the sink and all over the counter. Muttering something under his breath, he then makes my new drink, and calls loudly, “Hot large latte with 2% MILK!” I went up to get my drink and politely said, “I have gotten lattes here before with 2%. If that is no longer an option, maybe tell people when they order.” He said, “Well, we have new staff to train here, and I NEED A MINUTE!” Then as I went to put sugar in my latte at the station, he yells to me, loud enough for all those around to hear, “ENJOY YOUR AMBIGUOUS drink with 2 percent!!!” Throughout this encounter, I spoke to him respectfully and politely, in normal tones, and was met with disrespect, humiliation and embarrassment. There was clearly a miscommunication between him and his coworkers about the content of my latte, but he chose to take it out on me. Another customer, who saw it all, looked at me with wide eyes. I will not be back.
I’ve been to many restaurants, but I’ve never felt as disrespected or uncomfortable as I did here. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. The cashier who took my order was very nice, sweet, and helpful, but the guy making the food was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked if an adjustment could be made to one of my orders, he brushed me off, saying, “I’m busy, go ask the girl at the cashier.” While waiting, he told me not to stand behind him because I was “making him uncomfortable” and “slowing him down.” Then, when I requested my wrap to be warmed, he commented to a coworker, “Ew, that’s so nasty.” Completely uncalled-for behavior from someone working in customer service. I hope management sees this and takes steps to improve staff professionalism and respect toward customers.
terrible experience. we ordered 3 hot dishes and after a 20 minute wait asked them if our order was ready and they said it was coming but didn’t even check on the status. after another 20 minute wait, we checked again just to find out that they didn’t even have the order. if they just checked the first time we asked, it would’ve been okay but after forty minutes of waiting, we were too annoyed to wait even longer. then they tried to offer us cold food that someone had ordered. the brownies were good but we had to ask for them after we ordered, and waited 20 minutes, because they didn’t give it to us immediately after we paid. also they used microwaves to heat up the food, rather than ovens.
Make sure you ask them to warm your bacon and toast your bagel if you order a breakfast sandwich… Sesame bagel, LTO, Bacon, Cream cheese… all cold as if it came out of a fridge. Bagel feels like a gas station bagel that’s been wrapped up for a couple days… makes me wonder if these other raving reviews are even real…
