Many don’t know that Out of Town Bistro is now under new ownership and a lot has seemed to change!! This has been my go-to lunch, brunch and dinner spot for the last two weeks and I have not been disappointed yet!!!! They took their time creating a calm atmosphere and curated a specialty cocktail menu with beautiful glasses to match each drink (the Peelin’ Good is my FAVORITE). The shrimp scampi, truffle fries ans salmon are my go-to orders every time!!! You can catch me eating here everyday of the week the food is great, I’m not breaking the bank, the staff is so polite and the place stays clean. 10/10 from me!!

Top notch. Had a delicious Chop Cheese. Onion rings were very tasty with Parmesan garlic sauce too. Turkey burger, salmon dinner, and fried chicken were hits too. Service is good, and the food came out quick. Wall murals and decoration make Out of Town a nice place to be. I'll be back.

We were looking for a place to eat since we only had a few hours to spend in Albany, found this place online. Will be honest at first I wasn't so enthusiastic about the place we walked by without noticing the entrance. The place was empty, so we got a table right away. We order the food and drinks. Our waitress came several times to the table to check on us. The fried chicken with the mac and cheese was amazing but the rice was not much. As appetizer, we got chicken egg rolls and they were delicious. Definitely try their banana pudding it was the best way to end our trip to Albany.

Chloe is the best waitress ever- The food is delicious. The lamb chops are A1 on your birthday. You can get a free drink tower. It’s like 100 ounces of alcohol. OK enjoy

First time there. The food was delicious I got off the brunch menu the lamb chops. They were perfect. The drinks were really good. The service was great. Overall the vibe was very chill and they offered hookah if you like that. Highly recommend and definitely make a reservation.

We went there during their soft opening The staff was very attentive, the fish was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, and the mac salad and collard greens were on point! This place is a whole vibe 😍😍 and can't wait for their liquor license so we can grab happy hour here with our friends!

Taco Tuesday was Amazing at the Bistro 🥰 Many options to choose from Chicken, Beef, Shrimp or Fish. The portions size were great especially for the cost and all the condiments were incredible

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Out of Town Bistro, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of exceptional—each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The service matched the quality of the food, with a warm, attentive staff that made me feel truly welcome. The ambiance of the bistro was equally impressive, offering a relaxed yet vibrant vibe that perfectly complemented the meal. If you're in search of a place that combines great food with an inviting atmosphere, Out of Town Bistro is a must-visit. Highly recommended! #supportlocalbusniess

Our experience was OUTSTANDING, and we will certainly return. The service from T was impeccable. She was welcoming, friendly, attentive all with a pleasant smile. Although we initially planned to stop by for just one drink, we ended up staying for hours. Thank you T! The owners were great and made a point to introduce themselves and check in on us, a rare and appreciated gesture. We had just come from dinner elsewhere so we only sampled a few finger foods which included buffalo chicken egg rolls, philly egg rolls, and fries, all of which were generously portioned and delicious. The music selection was perfectly balanced for the occasion, a nice calm flow of R&B filling the speakers of every room. Subtle enough that we didn’t have to yell to have a conversation, but loud enough to sing along if your favorite song came on. The handcrafted cocktails were innovative and unlike anything else you’d find in the area. The Drunken Fish was garnished with actual Swedish fish candy, and the coconut mojito with strawberries and mint was sublime. However, the Peeling Good was the standout, refreshing and transporting us to tropical paradise packed with flavors of coconut, pineapple and banana, Delicious!!! Ambiance 10/10. Service 10/10. Food 10/10. Drinks 10/10. Music 10/10. Owners/Staff 10/10.

I just moved to NY in November and have been trying all of the great eatery that this state has to offer. I found this place on Tik Tok then started following their FB page. When I tell you everything was 100/10, most definitely recommend!!!!! We had the lovely, the beautiful, the charismatic JW bringing us delicious eats and drinks!!!!! The cherry on top is that this gem is #BlackOwned. What is my saying???? Always bet on black and you’ll win every time!! I will definitely be back. Ohhh and thy stay open until 1 am. I ate here for the first time this year 2025 and I must say after going to bombers for years I can say I am very impressed with the new lay out! I love the cool wall art! The vibe! The staff was very helpful and quick. I’d like to complement the people who took the time to organize snd arrange the lay out of the new business! I also own a business Al’s custom audio in East Greenbush so I look for perfection and this business deserves its flowers! Keep up the good work! The staff forgot to bring out silverware with our meals but when asked he quickly provided what was missing! Just don’t forget to bring silverware, utensils and condiments! Other than that I have no complaints I went back 2 days in a row the food is amazing! This is what Albany needs!

I came to Out of Town Bistro with two people. I didn't know what to expect. It has two levels: downstairs seems to be for a quick bite and upstairs seems to be for a dine in experience. The person who did the interior decor gave the place a bohemian dive kind of feel. The place is dark and moody with painted wooden booths, lowkey lighting, and colorful wall art that evokes a graffiti street art vibe. Two young women were smoking hookah which was unexpected, but I liked it. It fit the interior. Now the food. I did not know it was a soul food place! They had fried chicken, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, potato salad...all the staples. In addition, they had scrumptious appetizers. We tried the Philly cheese egg rolls. Delicious! And did i mention that they have a bar? I had a Jamaican me Crazy which i really liked. You'll enjoy the cocktail menu. I will definitely return here.

🎙️ SimplyZakkai Review: "Out of Town Bistro" 🍽️ Welcome back to SimplyZakkai! Today, we’re exploring "Out of Town Bistro," located in Albany, NY. This little spot on Lark Street opened on September 5th, and it’s been popping ever since! Starting off strong with the aesthetics, this joint is definitely 5 stars for the atmosphere! We got seated right away, which is always pleasant. We started off with the mozzarella sticks & marinara, which are absolutely one for the books! They were so nostalgic and tasted like a café-style mozzarella stick! If they were thicker, it’d be a little bit better. The marinara was okay, but not great, and it was also cold. I prefer warm marinara with my mozzarella boys! Moving on, my girlfriend got the Chicken Rasta Pasta, which was absolutely fantastic! 9/10 for the Rasta! The jerk flavor was coming through perfectly—it was to die for! My dish was the OTB Burger, their signature burger. It was pretty good! But there wasn't anything crazy or wowing about it. Add some contrast to the burger—something different—and I guarantee it’ll pop more! But still pretty good: 7.5 out of 10. Overall rating 8/10 Service:⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall:4 🌟’s Please check Out Of Town Bistro out, and thank you for reading/watching. Where every bite tells the story!

We enjoyed our meal here! We got cheesesteak egg rolls to share. They were really good, but a bit salty. For my entree I got the turkey wings. It was good! Our server was attentive.

It was okay. The menus are outdated, they were missing ingredients for the drinks, we ordered a hookah right at the beginning but it didn’t come out until we had already finished our food and drinks. Other than that, the food was good and reasonably priced, the hookah was okay, and the waitress was sweet.

Update: This was my second visit to the restaurant, and I was hopeful to see improvements since my first time when they mentioned working on obtaining a liquor license. Unfortunately, it seems that is still a work in progress. Reflecting on my latest experience, I find myself simply shaking my head in disappointment. I genuinely want to see this place succeed, but I'm left with concerns about its future. The staff appeared disorganized, with some looking as though they had just finished an intense workout session, sweaty and unkempt. Each interaction with the staff led to a request or a response from our side, but sadly, there was no follow-through on their part. As for the food, I'm at a loss for words. Consistency is key in the restaurant industry, and it was sorely lacking here. I had hoped to address these issues privately via email before posting a public review, but I was unable to find any contact information. It's with a heavy heart that I share this feedback, as I had high expectations for this establishment. First Visit: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I recently visited a new, black-owned restaurant in Albany, New York, and I was absolutely blown away! The food is simply incredible—everything is delicious, freshly fried, and well-seasoned. The wings and fish were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Southern collard greens and yams were mouth-watering. The service was wonderful and the staff made me feel right at home. I highly recommend coming out to support this fantastic new spot. I'll definitely be back in two weeks when they start serving liquor. See you there!

The atmosphere and decor were beautiful, which set high expectations for our brunch after church, especially since I had heard so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. We waited over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, much of it was disappointing. The grits were dry, and the waffles were burnt. However, the fried chicken was the one highlight. They did offer us a 25% discount due to the issues with the meal, which we appreciated, but overall, it wasn’t what I had hoped for.

Hisforeverlove18
Hisforeverlove18

I usually try to keep focused on the positives but occasionally I feel the need to be brutally honest in a review. Something that will always get me to give a poor review is a bad tasting food. I ordered the fried fish with mac and collard greens and I have to say that the only thing that was decent enough to eat was the collard greens. The mac was not hot and it was dry with a funny taste. The fish wasn’t crispy at all. My husband had the fired chicken with mac and his feelings were the same. The fried chicken had no flavor either. I always try to support the black owned businesses in my town because it’s where I come from but not all black own businesses know what they are doing. Aside from the bad tasting food, the ambiance was good and the staff was welcoming.

Genuinely wanted to give this spot another try after a not so pleasant experience the first time of attempting to grab some food and a drink late on a Saturday night.. We figured the BOTTOMLESS MIMOSA BRUNCH has to be the Sunday Albany spot to be at.. There was only one table in before us, maybe 6-8 people, not too large but also not overwhelming to handle. There was 1 person taking the orders, mixing the drinks & serving. 1 other person seen running the food. The mimosas were heavily sugary juice in plastic cups.. at least let the table handle the mixing of the juice and champagne, utilize the small bottles for portion control or let the table buy the whole bottle to handle.. The food arrived in to go containers. I wondered why the food was already in to go containers, first thought it was helping with dishes with short staff, I can understand that. nope, FOOD WAS BEING ORDERED & BROUGHT IN FROM ANOTHER RESTAURANT DOWN THE STREET! Nothing was actually cooked in house. Found out when the order came incorrectly, someone was unable to eat the food that was brought to the table, they had to re enter the order. Due to the sugary juice, my friend could not wait any longer for the food to arrive to eat (1.5 already being there still waiting to eat) left the restaurant to go home. My friends seen the food runner, bringing food from another restaurant I then waited another 15 mins for the manager to come back to remove items off the check we never received. Absolutely not worth it, I have no idea what we even paid almost 200$ for. The manager could give no cares about what was happening, he looked miserable being there himself same with the server, I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t wanna deal with that environment and have to serve people with the constant chirping of the detectors that need batteries changed. The bathrooms were even worse, clogged toilets with no soap paper towels or toilet paper. I think little less hookah smoking and little more working could make this place successful…

I did Too Good To Go, which was supposed to be $18+ worth of food. I got 4 wings, nothing else. Had to wait forever, honestly just stupid. Even with the discount, I paid $2 per wing, which is NOT A DEAL. Just don't put yourself on the app if you don't have anything to give. Every other restaurant loads up a box of food, I've never gotten such a dumb order.

They allow religious head coverings, but not medical. Had issues explaining photosensitivity to the security during an event. They refused to turn the lights down so I reached out to DoH to clear up this obvious non-compliance issue

We had reservations for 12 PM a table of three. The doors were locked at 12 PM and no one came to unlock the doors until about 12:07 PM. By 12:40 PM, the waitress came to take our orders mind you there were only three other tables of guest. It was not packed and took 40 minutes to ask for our orders. Our mimosa was presented in a plastic cup. We asked where the glass says were, and they said they were broken however, we seen one person with a glass and the same mimosa that we ordered. The table next to us received their food, not on plating, but in some aluminum foil to go bowls to done in, it was very tacky and ghetto. Based on Customer Service, and how the drinks and food were presented, we will not be returning. We requested to pay for the drinks and receive our bill and we left and did not order any food due to the lack of customer service opening doors late and the food presentation.
