I went to arrange a performance I'll be doing Friday Feb. 14th for Valentine's Day and ended up totally enjoying the food, drinks, ambiance and staff 🥂 🍽️ 🍸🍹 Hermant Pathak's cocktails are delicious! I hope to see you all there! +E Recording Artist Singer-Songwriter guitarist - Edwin Vazquez Musica
What a treat of Indian flavors and rare dishes! Go here if you want a bite of real India vs westernized Indian menu. Great service!! They took our feedback on one of dishes so earnestly and appreciated us providing honest feedback and even took it out of our check. They are here to stay and be the best!
We had a great experience overall. The food was really good, especially the appetizers, and the service was excellent. However, the seating arrangement in the extended area was disappointing. The area is slightly slanted, and no effort was made to balance it. Our table and chairs were leaning to one side, making it very uncomfortable to sit. This issue could easily be fixed by adding some adjusters under the table and chairs.
I came here with two friends for some snacks and drinks. I haven’t been to Dhamaka yet…but this does seem like a cheat code for getting some similarly bold flavors in innovative new forms without the struggling of securing that elusive reservation. Everything was excellent (we just ordered apps) but special shout out to the basket chaat and paneer teh pe teh. Also the mango lassi is EXCELLENT. Plus chill ambiance and attentive service.
This place was a 10/10! The food was amazing and came out in a timely manner and the staff really is outstanding! if it's your first time they take their time to explain the menu and are very attentive. Took my friend out to eat for her birthday and she said the food reminded her exactly of home, so glad we stopped by and I will be bringing more friends and family to eat here !
Very good hospitality. We were actually going to another restaurant but happened to walk by Jazba on a busy Saturday night. They really accommodated us well last minute. Service was great. As for food, we had the basket chaat, golpappas for appetizers and sang and paneer for dinner. Golgappas were were ok (think the flavors of the stuffing took over the flavors of the paani), but the rest of the food and presentation were really good.
Really delicious food. Smaller sized portions but it is worth the price! It gets busier later in the evening, so make a reservation if possible.
Spectacular ambiance and fantastic selection of foods from india. Basket chat , galouti kebab and dhabeli are the highly recommended half tickets ( half tickets are appetizer) . For full tickets press club korma and pandi curry is top notch. The spice driven cocktails are great to start with the paan cocktail was outstanding.
Had a fabulous time at dinner with friends. The food, drinks, presentation and service were delightful. Our compliments to the chef for the on-point flavors and spice levels. Compliments to our server for being pleasant and prompt, and bringing us a special little dessert to celebrate our reunion. The chur chur and kulfa desserts were amazing, as was everything else we sampled.
Loved the food! The Pani Puri was interesting, the basket chat was good, but the clear winner was Kadhi and kachoris! Would have bought a full portion of the kadhi if that had been an option. My friends also loved the butter chicken. The drinks were great too! Will revisit.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at "Jazba," a captivating Indian restaurant located in the heart of New York City. Jazba offers a culinary journey through various regions of India, showcasing an exquisite array of flavors and dishes from across the country. At Jazba, authenticity and innovation collide to create a culinary experience like no other. Indulge in the Aminabad ki Galouti Kebab, a centuries-old creation from Awadhi cuisine, served with warqi paratha, inspired by Lucknow's renowned Tunday kebab. Pay tribute to tradition with Aslam’s Butter Chicken, featuring chicken on the bone, spiced butter, and cream, accompanied by delicate roomali roti—an homage to Aslam’s grilled chicken. Don't miss the awesomely thin Roomali rotis, the perfect accompaniment to savor the rich flavors of the kebabs and butter chicken mor almost anything else on the menu. Each dish at Jazba is a journey through India's culinary landscape, where every bite tells a story of tradition, and the vibrant flavors of the subcontinent. What sets Jazba apart is not only its diverse menu but also its creative and delightful Indian-flared cocktails. Each cocktail at Jazba is a unique blend of traditional Indian ingredients and contemporary mixology techniques, offering a refreshing and innovative take on drinks. One standout cocktail I tried was the "Paan" with Rye whiskey, jazba paan nectar, cherry bitters, applewood smoke “inspired by the classic old fashioned with aromatic paan flavoring.” The cocktail menu at Jazba is a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship of Hemant who is a masterful award winding mixologist and the General Manger of the award winning Junoon and now Jazba as well. Hemant is the man behind the drinks, who skillfully blends Indian-inspired ingredients with premium spirits to craft unique and unforgettable drinks here at Jazba and Junoon. With its diverse menu, inviting ambiance, and innovative cocktail selection, Jazba offers a truly unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the vibrant flavors and culture of India. Whether you're indulging in traditional Indian street food dishes or savoring one of their signature cocktails, Jazba is sure to delight your senses and leave you craving for more.
Some of India’s best “street food” recipes on a plate. Amazing! I am glad finally Manhattan is seeing some really good Indian restaurants (outside of Curry Hill). Only a few years ago only Indian spot worth raving about was Junoon. So when we heard that the guys from Junoon opened a new spot, we had to give it a try. The signature mutton dish (for 2) is delicious. And bheja fry was my favorite of the small dishes (“half ticket”) that I tried. Everything was delicious and well presented. Each dish has a story of where it came from that will make you nostalgic if you’re from India. Only complaint is that we were given a table at a distant corner. We went there to celebrate a special occasion and asked for a better table. Wanted to take in the vibe a little. While they were busy, they did have quite a few open tables. But they didn’t care to entertain the request. Service fumbled a few times too. Maybe they were overwhelmed. We were there only 2 days after opening. It’ll probably take some time to run things smoothly. But food was amazing, so giving the service a pass. Will go back again certainly.
The service at Jazba was amazing, it was fast and the employees recommendations were helpful. The food was delicious, for starters we got the Basket Chaat which was my favourite. We also got the empire fried chicken which was also good but wish it was boneless. For main course we got the Atari Paneer, which was also good and had lots of paneer. For the dessert we got Chur Chur, it was okay I wish the pastry was softer. For cocktails we got the Mulethi, which was by far one of the best drinks I’ve had. The stinging vesper cocktail was very strong.
I had such an amazing time at Jazba. The service was great and our server really helped us when it came to ordering. She have great suggestions! Loved the Adrakhi Punch cocktail. The chicken was so fresh and yummy! My only gripe is that the Gol gappe (mint) flavor could have been better. Everything else was perfect! Also, such a lovely space Great for a date night or to take family.
Overall rating: 4.8 Best mango lassi I’ve ever had in NYC. My friends just got whatever they wanted. I was a little butt hurt because the waiter asked my friends where in India they’re from, but didn’t ask me. Sad face. We didn’t drink but the menu is very cool. It’s separated by region and really shows all of the different areas in India. I felt like I was taking a class in the best way. The portions of the food was very small, but good. I prefer the rice and roti over the naan. We ended up having to get 2 of everything to feed us. Get Roti!! Here’s what we ordered for the 3 of us: ASLAM’S BUTTER CHICKEN: 5/5 PANEER TEH PE TEH: 4/5 LOTAN KE CHOLE: 2/5 - do not recommend MURGH MULLAH PAYAZA: 4/5 GOLGAPPA: 5/5 KASHMIRI NADRU KOFTA: 5/5 I recommend giving it a try and trying different foods.
AMAZING!! Galouti Kebab and Butter Chicken weee exceptional. I have had original Galouti kebab in Lucknow and this is the closest it can get to the OG. Also it’s the only place I was able to find roomali roti which I loved. The Paan cocktail I had was good too and the dessert - Kulfa was very tasty. Everything had a lot of complex flavors. The ambience is pretty cool with a lot of colorful paintings on the walls, I’d highly recommend this place.
We were very excited to try out Jazba after hearing about its recent opening in the East Village. The ambiance of the restaurant is really special. The walls are lined with paintings of street food vendors from which Jazba draws inspiration, while the floor to ceiling windows create a grand appearance for the cozy confines of the seating area. The food was incredible, with unique flavors from various regions of India coming through in every dish. The Dabeli and Empire Fried Chicken Half Ticket dishes are MUST HAVES and we loved the Lotan Ke Chole and Green Chili Chicken Full Ticket dishes. You'll want to get extra Paratha and Naan to savor every bite of the curries. Highly, highly recommend getting to Jazba before this trendy, new spot becomes the talk of the town!
In the original Ssam Bar space, this new restaurant from the Junoon team (Chef Akshay) features famous street foods from all over India, all in one place. Extensive menu with generous portions great for sharing. I like how each full ticket / large plate comes with a matching bread. Loved the Aslam butter chicken, pabi puri with 3 different flavors, green chili chicken and goan shrimp omelet. Great cocktails too by Hemant.
Jazba, the vibrant new addition from the creators of Junoon, pays homage to India's bustling street food culture, nestled in East Village. Our feast of Aminabad Ke Galouti, Empire Fried Chicken, Paneer Teh Pe Teh, Kachori Kadhi Bhujje, Lazeez Pasliyan, Murgh Mullah Payaza, Peepaywale Wadi Aloo, and Panch Patte Ka Saag delighted our taste buds with rich, flavorful dishes. The cocktails, especially the Paan and Pipli, added an extra zing to the experience. The service was impeccable, with a friendly and knowledgeable waiter. Jazba promises a memorable dining affair; I hope they sustain these high standards. An absolute recommendation - I'll surely return for more culinary adventures.
Best Galouti Kebabs and Haleem in NYC & NJ! So these two are a must haves here! We also ordered Dahi Bada, GolGappe and Korma, and all of the dishes were great! For desserts we got the Kulfa and it was good! I liked the small portion for Kulfa…but wished they give you a larger portion of Haleem!! Drinks are good, not exceptional but good! But then again, I went there for the food and I was thoroughly impressed!
Visit this lively Indian eatery in New York City's East Village, which is situated at 13th Street on 2nd Ave. Jazba is well-known for its classic recipes that date back more than a century. They have a deep religious and cultural connection and a rich taste. The atmosphere is lovely and distinctive. loved the utensils and their cooking prowess. They have resemblance to the rich legacy of India. Their unique drinks, which draw inspiration from Indian spices, were the menu item that drew my interest. They contain surprising sweet, smoky, and savory components from unique Indian ingredients including Banarasi Paan, Meghalayan peepli pepper, Chikmagalur coffee, and more. Mulethi was the name of the one I tried. made with gin and mulethi (sweetwood and licorice) infusion. It has a sour taste with a net-shaped biscuit on top. The Delhi ki Tikki chaat and paneer teh pe teh were excellent on tiny platters. They have my highest recommendation. For the main course, I tried Kashmiri Nadru Kofta and it became my personal favorite instantly. It was a delicious lotus root dumpling dipped curry prepared in creamy cashew sauce and. Also ordered Peepaywale Wadi Aloo (potato). I ate bread - Lachha Paratha, and Tandoori Roti. Why wait, then? Visit the Jazba Restaurant at 207 2nd Ave, NY 10003.
Although this place was packed all evening, it’s thankfully not hard to get a reservation yet. I was seated immediately despite arriving early and was offered water and a cocktail while I waited. Great service. The food was phenomenal. Some dishes are a bit spicy but in a good way that compliments the dish. I loved everything we got and the presentation. 1 app and 1 entree per person is sufficient. Cocktails and mocktails are also very much worth trying. I also appreciate that each dish has rice or bread that already comes with it.
For a couple of Canadians searching for an interesting and special place to celebrate a big occasion, Jazba did not disappoint. Exceptional service, and a comfortable atmosphere that was made perfect with their delicious food offerings. The two small plates that we started with were exquisitely contrasted with sweetness, heat, texture and balanced flavours. The mains were savoury, spicy and exactly the right amount. Thank you for making our last night in New York so memorable! See you again!
An adorable and quaint restaurant. The staff are super friendly and quick. Love the staff’s outfit. The menu so cool and interesting. Indian food with richness that is super delicious. Cocktails were awesome. We had golgappe with three different water sauces. Haleem made with goat was perfect and flavored. Ended with soul warming chai. Definitely recommended!
The food was simply awesome. The Galuti Kabab and Basket chaat was simply awesome. Would recommend this place anytime. Main dishes and sweets were great! Few drinks were ordered and they were great too!
i loved this restaurant - the food quality and presentation felt like going to a fancy restaurant in india! unlike the other elevated indian restaurants (which i also love) you can always get a table and the prices are very reasonable. definitely order the kachori with kadi, and the malai kofta. the biryani was really good too. i’m telling all my friends about it.
I recently tried Murg Tikka, Haleem, Mutton Biryani, Mutton Curry, and Shahi Tukra, and each dish was packed with incredible flavor. The Murg Tikka was perfectly seasoned, the Haleem was rich and creamy, and the Mutton Biryani and Curry were both aromatic and flavorful. The Shahi Tukra was a sweet, indulgent finish. The only downside was the portion size, which could be a bit larger. Overall, a delicious experience!
Fantastic modern Indian food. Unique dishes from different regions of India. Fried chicken starter is incredible, as is the green chili chicken, the homemade paneer, and the pork curry. Excellent cocktail list, alcoholic and non. Buzzy fun vibes, colorful walls. Reservation a must. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend dining at Jazba for an exceptional culinary experience. My husband and I went there for dinner with our friends. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff. We were served by Mamta who was very knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. We really liked their selection of cocktails. We tried Peepli, Kokum, Paan and Panch Phoran. All the drinks were great but I personally liked Peepli the best. It had a nice tangy flavor that went well with the alcohol. We ordered Basket Chaat and Empire Fried Chicken for appetizers and for main course we got Atrai Panneer, Daal Makhni, and Green Chilli Chicken along with their unique bread selection (appam, lacha parantha and roomali roti). The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of each dish was impeccable. The beautiful utensils added a nice touch of elegance (see pictures I have added). Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and we will definitely visit again.
Love the concept and the execution of this restaurant. Regarding the food: the kachori was amazing; we loved the Aminabad galouti; and the saag was really good as well. The green chilli chicken with appam was also good but so spicy! We will try the Aslam butter chicken next time. The drinks were okay however compared to the excellence of the food. We will certainly come back in a bigger group to try the rest of the menu. Kudos to the team for a fun addition to the NYC dining scene.
They have a good set menu for 2 courses. You don't need to share, but the entire table must do it. I haven't found a similar Indian restaurant that has the unique choice of dishes. The fish tikka (salmon), paratha and kashmir nadru kofta were my favorite with the fragrant tandoori taste and complex cashew curry flavor. Will return.
A wonderful new find in the East Village. Was taken there by a gourmet and foodie who knows his Indian food. Fun atmosphere and great food. Many dishes you don't see on Indian menus in NYC, including treet-food dishes from around northern India. We had a blast. Was also great to reconnect with owner Rajesh Bhardwaj, the pioneering NYC restauranteur, founder of Junoon, Cafe Spice and more. If you've not been here yet, check it out!
Amidst the chatter and the cheer of the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand, dining at Jazba was an absolute joy. We enjoyed puri sabzi, chaat, and the aromatic biryani, ordering more as the match progressed. The galouti kebab, with its exquisite flavors, made our meal a true delight. To top it off, we received complimentary wine and dessert to celebrate India’s win.✨💫 Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed dinner and Jazba. The food seems original and authentic. We got one main, three entrees, two breads and two chutnis and while I didn’t like onion Kachori, it wasn’t bad. The Golgappa was a highlight, fresh and bursting with flavor. Everything was tasty and service was attentive as well. The only thing is that I find the prices a little high for what I view as a casual place.
Creative spin on an array of dishes from Indian eateries. Every bite was delicious and the cocktails were just as good. The prix fixe menu is an outstanding value, and the service was top notch.
One of the best Indian food, very authentic. Back to back dinner, loved the Galouti kebabs, bread rolls, and Golgappas in Appetizers. Biryani, Dal, Baigan Bhaiya and prawn curry all Amazing in mains, lacha parantha was fantastic. Desserts were good, Paan needs some more work but for a Restaurent it was not bad. Kokum cocktail was amazing, little acquired taste for few but I loved it, asked for a lightly sweetened one.
Exceptional appetizers and desserts, great mocktails and cocktails, and good main course items. Prices are a bit high but definitely justifiable. Portions and presentation are good. Would recommend. Our favorites were the Golgappa (our favorite with the three sauces), Kasundi Murg tikka, Paneer Teh pe the, Atari paneer and for dessert both the Kulfa and shahi tukra were great. For mocktails, both the Amrud and Kesar were great. The other cocktails are based on Indian flowers/ spices or local drinks.
I stopped by last minute with my girlfriend, and even though they were about to close, we were able to place a final order. To our surprise, the service was outstanding from start to finish! The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere was just right. The combination of great service, excellent food, and a welcoming vibe truly sets this place apart in the area. I’ll definitely be back with some friends to check out the space!
This place has only been open a couple weeks and with the buzz, I’ve been looking forward to trying it. Managed to score a 10pm table for our party of 6 and the place was still going strong when we arrived. We must’ve ordered half the menu and I have to say most of the dishes were excellent - nicely cooked with great flavors. Among those we had, I’d probably say the green chili chicken was my favorite. The breads were also wonderful as were the cocktails, which were nice Indian spins on classics. I’m always a bit nervous going to a place so soon after opening, but have to say they did a fantastic job!
We had the pleasure of visiting Jazba on our last trip to New York — and what an experience! This is such a cool spot in the East Village. The area isn’t overly touristy, and the place really feels like a local neighborhood gem. Right away, we noticed many guests with an Indian background dining here — always a great sign when it comes to authentic food, and it absolutely delivered. We tried several dishes from the menu, and every one of them was packed with flavor. Combined with some great cocktails and excellent Indian beer, it made for a truly memorable evening. A special shout-out to the Delhi Ki Tikki Chaat — absolutely mind-blowing! If you love Indian cuisine, Jazba is a must-visit.
Jazba New York: A Vibrant Journey into Modern Indian Cuisine Jazba, nestled in New York's East Village, offers a truly exciting and authentic take on Indian cuisine. From the team behind the Michelin-starred Junoon, Jazba distinguishes itself by celebrating the bold, flavorful street food and roadside culinary culture of India, while still delivering a refined dining experience. Our recent visit was particularly special as they were hosting a guest menu from Besharam from the West Coast. This collaboration was a fantastic opportunity to experience a unique blend of flavors, showcasing the dynamism of modern Indian cuisine across different regions. It's a testament to Jazba's commitment to culinary exploration and offering something beyond the ordinary. The connection to Junoon is evident in the impeccable quality and thoughtful presentation of the dishes, yet Jazba maintains its own distinct personality. While Junoon is known for its sophisticated fine dining approach, Jazba embraces a more relaxed, vibrant atmosphere, mirroring the bustling energy of Indian street food culture. The "modern Indian cuisine" at Jazba is a revelation. Dishes are not just flavorful but tell a story, with inspirations drawn from various regions and traditional recipes. From sizzling kebabs to fragrant curries, each plate showcases a depth of flavor and culinary expertise. The menu is smartly divided into "half-ticket" (smaller plates) and "full-ticket" (larger dishes), encouraging diners to explore a range of offerings. Beyond the food, the vibrant decor and lively ambiance add significantly to the experience. Colorful murals and the aroma of spices create a truly immersive environment that transports you to India. The service is attentive and friendly, with staff knowledgeable about the menu and happy to guide diners through the options. In conclusion, Jazba New York is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic yet modern Indian culinary adventure. Its innovative approach to Indian street food, coupled with the management's pedigree from Junoon, and the exciting pop-ups like the Besharam menu, make it a standout destination in the city's diverse dining scene.
If you’re looking for a dining experience that perfectly bridges traditional roots with a modern heartbeat, Jazba in the East Village is a must-visit. This Indian restaurant pays a sophisticated tribute to India’s legendary street food, making it an absolute standout for dinner. To Sip The craft cocktails are a masterclass in balance. I ordered the Mulethi, a gin sour riff with passion fruit and a sweet honeycomb tuile that highlighted the beautiful, earthy aroma of licorice root. My partner chose the Jamun, a vibrant mix of gin, Ume plum, and jamun-berry puree that was incredibly refreshing. To Eat The food is a love letter to Lucknow, featuring flavors that are hard to find elsewhere in NYC: - Basket Chaat: A stunning potato basket filled with sweet potato, papdi, and chickpeas. It’s a crunchy, tangy explosion of flavor. - Aminabad Ki Galouti Kebab: Inspired by the famous Tunday kebabs, these minced mutton kebabs were incredibly buttery and melted instantly. The accompanying warqi paratha was the perfect flaky pairing. The menu also boasts impressive vegetarian options. The Atari Paneer featured tender house-made cheese in a rich tomato masala, while the Kashmiri Nadru Kofta, spiced lotus root dumplings in a velvety cashew sauce, was easily the highlight of our main course. Jazba is a gem that manages to be both upscale and deeply soulful. Whether you're there for the innovative drinks or the regional specialties, it’s a journey worth taking.
Such an underrated & not so explored Restaurant serving India’s regional delicacies with authentic taste. Service was quick too. This has become my always goto now. Pro tip- their playlist is awesome!!
Incredible food and drinks. Forgot to take the before picture but it looked amazing. Service was tops as well. Coming back for sure.
I’ve been meaning to try Jazba for a while and very glad I did… Stopped by on a quiet Thursday evening and sat at the bar. First order was the delicious Juman cocktail, a gin-based drink with plum and jamun-berry puree. It was so good, that I ordered a second one when the entree arrived. For the food, I first tried the Aslam butter chicken from the small plate section. The sauce was fantastic; I could have bathed in it. For my entree, I had the railway mutton curry with tender lamb chunks in a tangy, rich tomato sauce. Also, excellent. The service was very good and I lucked out by coming on a not busy night so the volume was to my liking. A very enjoyable experience. I’ll definitely visit again.
We were originally booked at Junoon, but the reservation was shifted to Jazba because there was a child in our party. This felt surprising, especially as we’ve dined at Semma with our child before, despite it also being fine dining. That said, Jazba turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The staff were kind, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable, which immediately put us at ease. The food was excellent, well-prepared, and full of flavour. Overall, Jazba more than made up for the initial disappointment and saved the day. A warm atmosphere and great food made it an enjoyable dining experience.
Went here as a group of five to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and we had a great time! The cocktail menu is wonderfully unique, with hints of Indian spices, they definitely hit the spot. For appetizers, we ordered several dishes and enjoyed all of them, but the Aminabad ke Galouti stood out with its tender, juicy meat. One item, the Basket Chaat, wasn’t quite right, but the staff kindly replaced it with an even better dish. For mains, the Railway Mutton Curry, Green Chilli Chicken, and Atari Paneer were flavorful, delicious, and were just the right amount of spicy. It’s also one of the rare places that serves Roomali Rotis, and we were so glad we ordered them! Overall, it was an amazing and memorable dining experience — just a tad on the expensive side, but well worth it!
We visited this restaurant as a group and tried several appetizers and main dishes, each one was absolutely delicious, and every dish was better than the last! I’ve been to many Indian restaurants before, but this one is definitely among the best. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the service were all outstanding. Highly recommended! 👌
I love the complexity of Indian food this place is showcasing. It’s delicious but profound, comforting but flavorful. The Galouti kebab literally melted in your mouth, so silky smooth and the spice lingered on your tongue for a lasting taste. It’s crazy good! It’s not the typical Indian food you know in the city, it’s so much more sophisticated, rich and layered. It’s so wonderful to see that restaurants like this enriches the soul of New York dining.
Just had a delicious meal at Jazba. We were there for a milestone bday. Our friends had booked the entire restaurant for a group of 40 friends and family. We loved the cocktails Peepli, Paan, Adraki punch. Appetizers Fav were Surat ke bread rolls, kachori Kadhi Bhujje, Galluti Kebabs. Main Course : absolute fave was Chole Bhatura. Other items were good too. Atari Paneer, Mathura ke Bedmi alu among others. Shahi Tukda, Kheer and kulfi lollipops were yummy. Overall a great time with food, friends and smiling staff.
WOW! What an AMAZING experience at Jazba. The staff, the decor, the drinks (loved the Amrud and Kesar), the apps, mains, the dessert and chai. Everything was out of this world and I can’t wait to come back again soon! Desserts and drinks are the best I’ve ever had, loved the paneer appetizer and the kofta for the main course!
Jazba is our go-to spot whenever we visit New York! This restaurant never disappoints with its delicious curries, especially the chicken, shrimp, and lamb dishes, which are packed with bold flavors and authentic spices. The food always feels fresh, and every dish is cooked to perfection. The drinks menu is equally impressive, with creative cocktails infused with Indian spices that pair beautifully with the food. The ambiance is vibrant and welcoming, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. One thing we truly appreciate about Jazba is its fantastic staff—they are always warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring we have a wonderful dining experience every time. Plus, the restaurant is surprisingly kid-friendly, which makes it a perfect choice for a family meal. Every trip to New York includes a stop at Jazba, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian flavors, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!
Update: Went to Jazba the 2nd time. The Galouti kebabs were THE BEST. Butter chicken wasn’t what we expected - it’s a grilled chicken with butter, not the usual creamy tangy butter chicken. Loved the chur chur for desert. Do not try the Gola, it’s not good. We tried the murgh mullah pyaza, and the press club korma. Both the chicken and lamb were very well cooked - soft and juicy! And the kulfi faluda was pretty good especially because it wasn’t too sweet. The service however had some hiccups. At first we got a different dish, and then the cheque had an item charged with we didn’t order. I’d still come back for the food!
Great food! Loved it. Ordered the infamous galouti kebab. Served as it’s done. Little spicer than expected but again it’s an inspiration for this dish hence no marks deduced. Then ordered the drink called “imli”. A tamarind based drink with cranberry juice, lime and soda. Unusual yet refreshing drink. Must try. Lastly ordered the Railway mutton curry and Rumali roti. Taste was good, balanced flavors. Loved it. Will highly recommend anyone to check this restaurant out for the taste, ambience and of course the drinks!
Had made reservations for the six of us and we were seated right away on our promised time. You are welcomed to a fairly noisy dining room with vibrant colors and good amount of lighting. We ordered a few cocktails which included Pipli ($16) and Paan ($15), with Pipli being the winner! It was a very tasty cocktail and was packed with a good punch. For starters, we got Dabeli - $15 for a single piece definitely hurt and the flavors were nothing extraordinary and Aloo Dum Dahi Bada ($17) which was slightly better. For mains, we ordered Panch Patte Ka Saag ($24), Kerala Style Veg Stew ($23), Green Chili Chicken ($35), Press Club Korma ($36), and Murgh Mullah Payaza ($34). We also ordered Roomali Roti's ($5 each), Wadi Kulcha ($5), and Appam's ($5 each). There was nothing so spectacular about the food and in-line with the newest trend of newer Indian restaurants in the city, where the price to portion value is ridiculous, Jazba does live up to that. Service was perfect though, and food arrived within 20 minutes of ordering. Will we visit again? Probably not, unless we want to fake show off fancy NYC Indian restaurants!
It was a pleasant experience and everything we ordered was delicious (except for dessert). The sauces went very well with all the breads / naans we ordered. The goat curry was my favorite but there wasn’t a lot of meat on the bone. The Paan old fashioned and espresso martinis were very well made and would recommend that for cocktails. The desserts were probably the most disappointing particularly the ice stick thing with food coloring. It didn’t really fit the overall food vibe and tasted terrible too. Would skip that.
This place has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of inconsistencies that resulted in my good but not great score. The appetizers were fantastic- the kachori kadhi bhujje was delicious, the sauce was so tasty my dining companion and I continued dipping our butter naan in the leftovers long after the dish was finished. The Empire fried chicken was nice, the chili mint sauce really made the dish (the chicken was ok without it). However, the coorgi pork was VERY fatty (yes, I know it's pork belly but some fat can be rendered or even cut off before fully cooking) and the meat itself was very firm, seemingly cooked not long enough or at too high a temperature. The railway mutton curry also jad an amazing sauce, but the meat itself was highly underseasoned. Tasting the meat itself without a very thorough swirl in the sauce resulted in disappointment. Service was overall good, with our initial server doing her best in a busy Saturday night service, but with 3 others attending to our table, the previously mentioned inconsistency prevailed- at times we would be asked how our food was immediatly after it was dropped on the table (I haven't tried it yet) or, after our table was cleared from our entrees, it was well over 10 minutes before we saw anyone to check how we were doing, if we wanted dessert, more drinks, or were ready for the check. I really wanted to give this review higher marks as my companion was excited for the concept (born and raised in Pune) and we have had a few amazing experiences at the sister restaurant Junoon. I'll be back in a few months, hopefully overall execution will have improved.
We randomly discovered this restaurant, and to our delight, the food was excellent. Every dish, from appetizers to the main course, was delicious. The cocktails were quite decent too. We began with chicken tikka and galouti kebab as appetizers and enjoyed green chicken and railway goat curry for the main course. Must try : Galouti Kebab
Jazba is a unique spot showcasing the diversity of street food from all across India. The first thing that hits you is the ambiance and the murals of the typical Indian market. The staff were attentive and we were seated promptly. We really wanted to try a good amount of the starters which is easier if you come with a group. The portions were just right for the starters. My recommendation is the Aminabad Ke Galouti which come with an airy yogurt that was tasty. One of the starters though, Surat Ka Bread Roll, came with mint chutney and "spicy tomato sauce" which was 100% from a Maggi tomato sauce bottle. It felt like it was a made lazily. Entrees were delicious, however my gripe with them was how some dishes felt like they were replicatable in terms of ingredients. For example, we got the Murg Makhani and it looked and tasted exactly like Chicken Tikka. Didn't really feel all that unique. Overall this place has great food and is satisfying, but it is quite apparent that they have cut corners with certain menu items which takes away from any authenticity that they are trying to project.
This is great spot in East village and vibes are good. Service phenomenal esp the managers were really nice to everyone . The cocktail menu is awesome esp kaapi (expresso martini) made from Chikkamagaluru Karnataka coffee beans. My friend recommended this place but Food was a bit okayish. Still worth a visit for a vibe and location. $180 for 2 ppl felt a bit high as food was okay. We took the $55 pre fix meal and food . Baigan bartha and lotus kofta was good 👍 . The desserts were alrite Shashi Tukra had excess fennel/saunf.
We were invited to Jazba for lunch. We ordered lamb masala and chicken curry for the main fried chicken, gullati kabab, and basket Chaat with gol gupas for starters . Gullati kabab was ok. The fried chicken was quite delicious . Lamb was good but chicken curry was quite disappointing. In drinks Immli was great but Guava drink was bad 👎. Kulfa again was very disappointing
The food is authentic, I've ordered golgoppa (I lik d the Mango flavor), Tikki chat (it is very good), Amina ad ki galouti (It is good), and goan Prawns curry (Average), Dum Biryani (it is good but the quantity is less) and atlest Shahi ka tukra and kofla which are good as they are not too sweet.
Jazba boldly celebrates India's iconic street foods, recreating the charm of century-old eateries with elevated dishes. The moment we saw the menu, we wanted to try everything. Starters set the tone of the meal, and for the most part, did not disappoint. The Surat ka Bread Roll was crispy on the outside and perfectly spiced inside, definitely one of those bites that make you nod with instant approval. The Kachori Kadhi Bhujje was a nostalgic winner, with the kadhi adding a tangy richness that truly transported me to the streets of India. The only letdown was the Paneer Teh Pe The, bland and forgettable compared to the rest. That said, it wasn’t among their recommended items, so we were not too heartbroken. For the mains, we tried the Atari Paneer and the Kashmiri Nadru Kofta. Both were flavorful and unique in their own ways. The koftas, in particular, intrigued me, I was really looking forward to the dish, but it slightly fell short of expectations. Plus, only three koftas in the plate? Felt like an odd number and a portion that could be a tad more generous (four would have felt complete). The desserts were undeniably the highlight of the evening. The Shahi Tukda was decadent, saffron-soaked bread with silky rabri that just melted in the mouth. And the Kulfa was pure joy. An inventive twist with authentic kulfi and cardamom-laced phirni, easily one of the best desserts I have had in a while. Jazba has energy and color, but the seating and service could use some polishing. A bit more attentiveness and warmth from the staff would elevate the whole experience. The drinks, too, were a hit-and-miss. All in all, Jazba is a flavorful journey worth taking, especially if you are craving bold Indian street eats in a modern setting.
I had a wonderful time at Jazba in NYC! The food was delicious. The staff made the experience even better, though. They were warm, friendly, and super helpful, making sure we felt taken care of the whole time. The atmosphere was great too, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. I’d definitely recommend it if you're craving some delicious Indian food in the city!
Jazba provided a great dining experience overall! The food was delicious, especially the vegetarian dishes (which I mostly ordered). Our friends who ordered non-vegetarian options also raved about their meals. The atmosphere had great vibes, although I felt the portion sizes could have been a bit more generous for the price.
Overall, wasn’t very impressed. While the ambiance was nice, neither the food nor service really hit the bar, and our food took an extraordinarily long amount of time to come out. We started with the Aminabad Galouti, which was nice. After, we tried both the Paneer (main) and Murgh Mulla Pyaza, which were both just okay. Overall, probably a 3 or 3.5/5 at most.
For the starters we ordered surat ke bread rolls (3/5), for main course we ordered kashmiri nadru kofta (3.5/5) with butter naan(4/5) and aslam’s butter chicken (4.5/5) along with peepli (2/5) and amrud drinks(4/5) , for dessert we ordered shahi tukra(3/5)
Utsav Honest Review (UHR: 6/10) Utsav Classics Take (UCT: 7/10) Here’s the detailed review: Dish Reviews: Surat Ki Bread Roll (Stuffed with peas and corn, served with ketchup and green chutney) UHR: 5.5/10 | UCT: 6/10 A decent starter, but the flavors felt too basic to stand out. Delhi Aloo Ki Tikki (Chole stuffed inside for a classic chaat vibe) UHR: 6.5/10 | UCT: 7/10 Good flavors and a solid representation of street food, but not exceptionally unique. Nadru Kofta (Lotus stem dumplings in a rich gravy) UHR: 5.5/10 | UCT: 6/10 The gravy was pleasant but lacked depth due to undercooked onions. Lachha Paratha (Layered Indian flatbread) UHR: 6/10 | UCT: 7/10 Crispy and flaky, pairing nicely with the kofta gravy, but nothing extraordinary. Roomali Roti (Thin and soft Indian flatbread) UHR: 5/10 | UCT: 5.5/10 Chewy and slightly burnt, disappointing for an otherwise classic bread. Drink Pairings: Paan Drink (Whiskey infused with paan flavor) UHR: 7/10 | UCT: 8/10 A refreshing cocktail with unique Indian flavors. A standout drink that pairs well with any dish. Kesar Drink (Orange and mango juice blended with saffron) UHR: 5.5/10 | UCT: 6/10 Mildly flavorful but lacked the complexity and wow factor expected. Full Breakdown: 🌈 Vibe (UCT: 8/10): The lively atmosphere makes for a fun experience, but the noise level can be overwhelming for some. 🎨 Presentation (UCT: 7.5/10): The brass plates and glasses are a nice authentic touch that elevates the dining experience. 🍴 Food Quality (UCT: 6/10): While a few dishes shined, most felt average, with room for improvement in flavor depth and execution. 👃 Aroma (UCT: 6.5/10): The spices are noticeable but not as inviting as expected from Indian cuisine. 🎶 Music & Lighting (UCT: 7/10): Cozy lighting sets the mood, and the upbeat background music matches the vibrant vibe. 🧼 Hygiene (UCT: 7.5/10): The space was clean and well-maintained. 💰 Value for Money (UCT: 6/10): A bit pricey for the quality delivered, especially given the inconsistent food execution. 🍽️ Must-Try Dish: The Paan Drink is the highlight here and not to be missed. ⚠️ Spiciness Level Note: The food here leans more toward mild flavors than traditional Indian spice, so no need to worry about overwhelming heat if you’re hesitant about masala. Final Verdict: This spot delivers a fun, lively atmosphere with creative drinks and decent vegetarian options. However, the food doesn’t quite hit the mark on authenticity or execution, leaving it as more of a casual dining experience rather than a standout destination. Would I return? Maybe, but mostly for the drinks.
The Service was very quick. However, most of the items that we ordered were very average (Atari Paneer, Paneer Teh Pe Teh). The wow factor was missing. Highly recommend the Surat Ka bread Roll and Rumali Roti. You can definitely skip PEEPAYWALE WADI ALOO. Had lot of oil and was not at all delicious. To sum it up - had high expectations of this place, the service was very quick but the taste of most the dishes was not on point.
Service was great and attentive, drinks were creative and delicious, but the food portions were beyond small. Paying $60+ for 5 pieces of chicken and prawns is outrageous and the quality does not justify the lack of quantity. I would love this place if the portions were not so underserved.
Average food at expensive price. Very Salty. We were a big group and ordered multiple items including 3 sea food dishes. The food came to table in 3 minutes. I don't understand how it's possible to make ap quick. We all wondered about how fresh it was cooked or not cooked. The staff and service was good. They were very kind and professional. They listened to my feedback as well. Ordered Bheya Fry (goat brain) it wasn't fully cooked. Fish fry was extremely salty. Railway mutton curry had plenty of bones and less meat. Less quantity as well. But it looked appealing. I am not sure if I will take an effort to go back there.
Jazba is an ambitious restaurant with flashes of real excellence, but it remains a place where intention occasionally outpaces execution. At its best, the kitchen shows a clear understanding of bold Indian flavors and modern presentation; at its weakest, that ambition drifts into inconsistency and restraint where confidence is required. The room sets expectations high. Jazba’s atmosphere is energetic and polished, designed for a contemporary dining crowd that values style as much as substance. Unfortunately, the food does not always rise to that promise. Starters reveal the restaurant’s uneven footing. Some dishes arrive well-seasoned and texturally sound, while others feel overworked or underpowered. Tandoor-driven items show respectable char but sometimes lack depth beyond surface-level spice. Where smoke and marinade should integrate into the protein, flavors occasionally feel layered on top rather than developed through. The main courses are similarly mixed. Curries display competent technique — sauces are smooth, plating is clean — but several lean too heavily on richness without delivering sufficient aromatic complexity. Cream and butter soften the edges where sharper spice definition would elevate the dish. Proteins are generally cooked properly, yet few preparations leave a lasting impression, especially when measured against the restaurant’s pricing and positioning. Rice dishes and breads are serviceable but fail to distinguish themselves. Naan arrives warm but without the blistered char or chew that signals careful tandoor handling. Biryani, a dish that demands discipline and layering, feels assembled rather than composed — satisfying in portion, lacking in perfume and structure.
TLDR: The graph of our dining experience (bear with me here) would be like y = 7.5-x. Started out decent (7.5/10) and then it just got worse and worse. Came here with the gang for Restaurant Week, and it was not great. Sucks too, because I remember coming here when it opened 2 years ago and it was definitely better (tho still not worth the price back then). Apps were decent (gol gappa good but pricey, fish tikka great, paneer and chicken ok) and drink (adraki punch) was good. Laccha paratha was fine, railway mutton curry was forgettable, chicken curry was overcooked, etc. Kulfi pops were just bad (especially the mango one). All-in-all, def not worth what we paid. Also, while I empathize with the waiters who were really trying but were severely shortstaffed for a busy Monday night, our service was also not amazing / the ambiance was meh. Far too many other good Indian options in NYC to return to this one.
I don’t understand the hype of this India Restaurant! Everything’s great atmosphere, location except food ! Mediocre food with Michelin Star Restaurant Pricing, just because its sister restaurant of Junoon doesn’t make it great ! Food from Half Ticket to Full ticket nothing stands out ! Neither the taste nor the quality! If they expect people to pay 18-20$ for a paneer starter, I specially expect quality not chewy rubbery paneer ! All the gravy’s of Full ticket are just buttery. I understand Indian food has oil and butter but when restaurants of this level does this it’s unacceptable and unhealthy ! We pay high price for quality ingredients and not some local stuff! To my shock the gravy of your pattah which is mix of few leafy veg even that was greasy, I mean come on ! Last were desserts you are serving local kulfi in just a nice plate for 21$ ! If you’re Michelin star restaurants sister restaurant there’s little creativity expected atleast in desserts ! The whole concept is to pay homage to India but you can’t be paying homage with high ticket menu items with low quality food! Being a foodie and raw reviewer I think overall this place is mediocre and wrongly hyped ! Whoever is reading this review, if you need to know how soft paneer should go checkout your restaurant Junoon or Bhatti Indian Grill or even a local but great restaurant Cumin and Eat in Secaucus ! Or try Nanak Malai Paneer or Gopi Paneer ! Overall it was a bad experience for me !
Unfortunately I really wanted to like Jazba but left disappointed. Good atmosphere / decor and some of the appetizers were tasty (basket chaat, paneer, golgappa, brain masala). Main entrees were mediocre at best without flavor or spice (chana, saag, naan). Very poor service despite being there when it was not busy and plenty of staff - not attentive, proactive or friendly at all. Also overcharged which they did correct. Will not go back.
The food presentation has changed since last December. The quality has become substandard as well - aappam was stale and goan prawn curry had sand in the curry!!! Unacceptable! Saving grace was the galouti kebab!
- Golgappa - the puri and filling were nice but the pani was pretty mediocre plus it was very cold - Lasooni Saag - was nice but dry, so it was good with their parathas but not with their rice. And the parathas were surprisingly mediocre - Kulfi Duo - mango and pista flavors. The pista tasted really bad and the mango was better in comparison but overall they were still not good. Definitely the worst kulfi I've ever had - Kari-yal cocktail - which was a coconut and curry leaf infused rum cocktail. This was the highlight, it was very innovative and delicious! Given that I had very high expectations from Jazba, I was pretty disappointed with the food. The flavors were mediocre at best.
Never have I ever given 1 star to any restaurant in the US. Except Jazba. Went in to celebrate an occasion but we were severely disappointed. We made a huge mistake of going with the prestige pre fixe menu. The portion sizes are for a toddler. It doesn't justify the cost. Don't fall for this scam. I've been to other set menu restaurants as well. But this was was overpriced. We ordered Galauti Kebab - The only good savoury thing. Although kebab portions were TINY. Fish Tikka- Bland. Mutton Curry - It had only 1 small potato piece and 3 mutton pieces. Mutton was cooked to perfection but curry was average. Goan prawn curry- there only item with good quantity- 4 huge prawns and watery tasteless curry. Naan - looked like roti and was extremely thin. We had to order extra appam. Dal tadka - 1 bowl of rice and small portion of daal tadka. We told the server our concern regarding small quantity of daal. He was kind enough to give us another portion. Desserts kind of saved our meal. Kulfi pops were fantastic especially the pistachio one. They serve the same ones at junoon. Shahi tukra - teeny tiny in size but delicious. Junoon is my favorite restaurant ever. But this sister restaurant was a complete disappointment.
