Very, very solid everything bagel with a great crispy outside to fluffy inside ratio. Good everything mix. Cheddar jalepeno cream cheese was quite tasty and very jale forward as it should be!
This bagel shop is the best I have come across in NYC so far! The bagels have a chew to them, but they are soft and moist in the middle and are perfectly buttered and salted. They give a great amount of cream cheese (a lot). The staff seem really nice. The place is clean and has a cute style. Also the prices are reasonable. You can get a naked juice for $4 👍🏼
This place was busy when I went. The shop has a modern feel to it. However, that is not to mention that the bagels are not good. They are big, although some of them are formed in a weird shape. It's in a quaint neighborhood, so you can take a walk around to explore the area as well, as you wait for your order, and there is a Trader Joe's nearby. I highly recommend the everything bagel, it costs the same as the other bagels here, but is oh so much better than a plain bagel. It has the right amount of salty sweet balance and I highly recommend you cut it in half and toast it lightly. Unless you're allergic to one of the ingredients of course.
Best bagel shop in nyc!! Store manager is very kind and attentive! Workers always greet me with a smile and know my order. Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone craving a delicious bagel.
I ordered online for pick-up for an event I was hosting. The order was ready on time and the staff was kind and helpful. Amazing bagels and excellent customer service. 10/10
A fresh egg everything bagel with mozzarella, eggs, crispy bacon, and a side of coffee — it was phenomenal. In my opinion, the bagel holds its own against some of the best I’ve had in New York.
I stopped here a couple times because it’s across the way from a friend of mine. I didn’t catch the person’s name at the counter, but he was very kind and very helpful both times I made it here. Most recently, I walked in a few minutes to closing not realizing that was the case and the gentleman whipped up a bagel and coffee for me in seconds and despite me apologizing sixty times, reassured me it was okay. It’s not often I find an a bagel that has me coming back for more, so it was nice to enjoy both visits here. They make a good latte, too. Couldn’t recommend them enough! PS: Some nice sitting space along with a fresh and clean interior!
After a 5-day trip to NY and previously visiting many parts around the world, I want to say hands down this is the BEST food experience I’ve had. Yes, it isn’t an ultra luxurious spot, but it’s everything you would want from a local place: cozy, tasty, CLEAN, and the person that took care of us was super-nice (especially considering NY’s standards lol). Even though we weren’t referred to them by anyone but rather chose them because they were the only ones open, I want to say it’s THE BEST SALMON BAGEL I’ve ever had. What else can you ask for? Thank you!
Abe is the best cashier ever and the bagels are super great and soft, I come here everyday and it never disappoints 😍
Best bagel I’ve ever had. Single handedly changed the trajectory of my life.
Amazing breakfast spot! Yummy bagels, coffee and a must - pizza bagel. They also offer a wide variety of vegan options (not only salads but they have vegan eggs, vegan cheese, whole menu of vegan breakfasts and vegan bagels - I loved it). Also, stuff is really polite and I really do not understand why it is not a super popular place. Highly recommended.
By far the best in NY!! Excellent atmosphere! Great service by the employees. While I was sitting I watched them let an elderly man with a cane come to the front so he didn’t have to stand, on duty cops came right to the cashier instead of having to stand in line. They gave treats and high fives to the little kids. I love that kind of service.
I've been to this place during our visit in Oct 2024. Smith Street Bagels offers a huge variety of sandwiches and bagels. Customers have a large choice of spreads, almost too many to try. All of the ones we chose were very delicious. The place offers seating inside and outside. Therefore, it was super chill to place our order and enjoy the bagels on the bench in front of the store. Our special thanks goes to Monique, working the register. She treated us with such hospitality, patience and kindness. She made us feel really welcome during our stay, just like the entire staff, that is friendly and dedicated to provide the best service and food they can. Thank you very much for making during our trip to NYC so much better. Would love to come back anytime. 10/10
I’ve only ever had these delivered so I haven’t been irl, but I thought people should know how good this place is! Their bagels are excellent and their salmon spread is addictive. Delivery always goes super smoothly. Highly recommend!
They just renovated and reopened, great place, tasty bagels !
my go to bagel in the area. the vegan options are delightful, the bagels are so fluffy you don’t need to toast them. a juice is cheap and fresh - you can have a cheap or splurge breakfast and they bake bagels continuously through the day. theyve been revamping the claim process at the end of ordering (showing your number ticket) which has improved service greatly.
My favorite bagel /deli coffee shop in the city, really really love the coffee hot/cold, I had to Barrow some of it when they were closed for renovation lol, bagel and sandwiches is another amazing story you have a huge variety of selections and definitely they will costume your Weird favorite sandwich. They also have a full salad bar . The staff is very friendly, meet you with a smile and quick talk while you're paying.
Yummy New York bagels! Crisp from the outside and tender from the inside! I got the bagel with cream and it was just so good! We ordered thru phone and just pickes it up on our way. This bagel shop is recommeneded. By the way, they also have some other goodies like donnuts, pan cakes, cookies coffee etc. Crew were very helpful in our order and was very quick. Seating is available.
Back and better than ever! Bagels have been so fluffy and fresh! Thank you
I love bagels and this is one of the very good bagel places around the neighborhood. Their bagels are on a chewier end. Great selections of cream cheese with some interesting ones like truffle mushroom flavor. Ice coffee is good too with tart taste which I prefer with the bagels. Prices are similar to the other bagel shops around. If you like chewy bagel, I highly recommend this place. Also, they have outdoor sitting area which is not the best but it does it’s job.
Great bagels, fast, and affordable. This is my bagel place for years and I love it.
Utterly fantastic bagel. Do you know what its like to try to get a good NY bagel for years of searching, getting dense bread circles. Then I come here and take a bite, light cracks going through the outside, the flavor of that fully cooked seasoning and thin layer of crunch on the outside. Into an actually chewy and soft center. I havent had a bagel like this since frigging 2010. Thank you bagel Gods keep doing what youre doing.
When in the neighborhood it is important to try Smith Street Bagels if you’re in the mood for one! Their everything bagel and the other options are all homemade & very “scrumptious”. I always come in here to get the egg and scallion cream cheese option. Their juices are freshly squeezed and really refreshing too. Staff is moving a thousand bagels a day and STILL provide good customer service and maintain being friendly at best. They do have seats here incase you want to bring a friend or two but i’d be cautious over the weekend because it is packed like crazy in there.
We ordered bagels from here for a breakfast event at SUNY Downstate and Zack was great. He was very friendly and helped me get everything up to the 8th floor. The presentation was lovely and the doctors and medical students all commented on the presentation of the bagels and cream cheese. Everything was delicious. They also liked how everything was pre-sliced. Will definitely order from here again!
First time bagel experience in NYC! Jalapeño cheddar seasonal bagel was flavourful and tasted very well. Not heavy or chewy. Also tried tuna cream cheese which was good! Bagel pizza so much simulated Chicago’s deep dish pizza which I’m not a great fan of. Would go back to Smiths in the future.
We first called Smith Street Bagels from out of town to inquire how to put in an order for delivery. We were told to go onto their website and put in the order the day before delivery. We followed the instructions and placed our order and the time we wanted the order delivered. Once the order was placed and paid for, we received a tracking number. Thrilled to say the order was delivered as requested and the food was fresh and delicious! Thank you Smith Street Bagels!
Its me again with another review of a poppyseed bagel with strawberry spread. Smith st bagel did deliver you freshly baked, soft and crunchy New York style bagel with great tasting spread. But hold on, let’s mention the guys behind the counter. As always, I asked for a little advise, a recommendation on how to order my bagel and the two guys behind the counter not only gave a recommendation but got into a small friendly chat. Gentlemen, you get 5 STARS on top of the 5 stars for this review and a huge THANK YOU for being so friendly. Looks like Smith st bagel offers a huge variety of freshly made bagel and a fridge full of different spreads. I was pleasantly surprised seeing cucumber dill, honey bacon or chipotle flavors just to name few. The shop has some indoor seating and few benches outside. This place certainly becoming a part of the neighborhood.
We are here visiting from NC our hotel recommended you and they were right. The place is clean and has a large selection of spreads and bagels. Your bagels were great and your egg and home fries platter was perfect for two. My husband added a flat bread everything bagel with Suraci with Bacon, cream cheese which was amazing.👍 The service was incredible the young man from jersey with the tattoos on his arms was super friendly and made us feel right at home. Being a restaurant owner ourselves we really look at everything and we are giving you a well deserved 5 Star ⭐️ 👍🥯
Love this place! I placed an order online the night before for multiple platters for 35+ people. I did it for pickup the next morning, and everything was fantastic!!! Everything tastes great and looks amazing. I'm so happy how well it came out, and the people it was for were very happy! Definitely coming back!
Mmm bagely goodness. Looking for some amazing NYC bagels in the hood… you’ve found the spot. The bonus you’ll get is the amazing flavored cream cheese options. Try cucumber dill or apple cinnamon (savory vs sweet). Service is efficient and quick. Apple Pay accepted easily so leave the wallet at home. Seating outside if you want to take it slow (covered and also easy access to the F train if you need to take it on the go.
Great vegan food! The vegan pizza was surprisingly good, generously sized, and at very reasonable price. And the service was prompt and super friendly. Overall a great place for a quick & inexpensive vegan snack or lunch. Much more than I expected from even a good bagel shop! (Update 5/28/2022: I stopped by again yesterday, and the food and service was just as pleasant as last time. I'm sure I'll be back!) (edit: I'm surprised to see all the recent negative reviews after I posted mine. I was there about two months ago and just got around to posting my review today, so maybe something has changed, but my experience was the opposite. It was a pleasant enough experience, and the food so good, that it's been in the back of my mind to leave the review since then, and I definitely plan on going back the next time I'm in the area and need a lunch break.)
This place is delicious. Wide open concept. They have all types of cream cheeses. My friends I and I got the bagel with lox, sausage egg and cheese bagel and the spinach with cheese pastry. All delicious and made fresh. Their coffee as well was really strong. They have plenty of street parking in the front as well
Bae goals @_emmybarr @emmyedits.png remember for your birthday how you wished for a rainbow bagel form NYC so we all flew to NYC - I surprised you - on the coldest weekend of the year and went to @thebagelstore in Brooklyn and stood in negative degree weather for 30+ minutes? Yea, me too. Check out those colors though
came to Smith Street Bagels via a promo. never had a multigrain bagel but I am glad it did: full of hearty bread flavor in bagel form with a firm crust and a nice chew. the bacon-cheddar scallion cream cheese goes well with the multigrain--though the cream cheese only has the faintest hints of bacon. wish it had more full bacon flavor. the cream cheese has more cheddar and scallion notes in it than actual bacon-ness. service is quick. good amount of seating inside and outside in a very clean bright bagel shop.
So glad I love this place again! Lucky to get pumpernickel everything straight out of the oven! Started with one with regular cream cheese then had to have another with JUST Turkey bacon...nothing else. Bussin'!!! Best pumpernickel bagels I know of! Staff definitely do treat delivery workers with respect!!! Love that!
Decent experience overall. Paid about ~$20 for a Truffle Shuffle lox bagel. Felt pricey, but it was a good size – I was able to split it with someone and not feel hungry. The bagel itself was solid, but I wished the truffle cream cheese had a lot more flavor. Definitely get the bagel toasted. It had a nice crunch
Great tasting bagels indeed! Had the everything bagel and it made fresh. They seemed to be very generous with the cream cheese. Accessible to public transportation. Definitely worth my stop. Has a minimum of $5.00 purchase for credit/debit card. They have few tables for use. Service was fast. This place delivers. Will definitely stop by here again❤️.
This place was THE place for Bagels. Unfortunately it’s come down in quality and service over time. They can’t seem to get two things right: 1. Consistency of their bagels (they have fluctuated over the years). I think it started after they bought out Court St.? I don’t know why, but they used to have the best bagels, and I miss it. 2. Getting an order correct. It’s been a while since we’ve received exactly what we ordered (onsite or delivery). There’s a huge disconnect between the servers and cashiers. Process is just broken. Lastly, if you’re looking for quiet/relaxing place, better to take out. Place especially when busy is chaotic and anxiety inducing.
Staff seemed unnecessarily stressed, my home fries, while the style I prefer, were really dry. Omelette had no finesse, just veggies in a half scrambled egg and the bagel was nothing special. Coffee had some grind in it. It was however pretty good price so if you want fast and cheap this might be the spot.
Bagels are good and the staff works hard but it is often very busy. Twice now my order has been forgotten which is very frustrating. Aside from that issue the food is good, but don’t come during the breakfast or lunch rush if you have somewhere you need to be on time.
I've been a customer here several times - as a vegan I have enjoyed that they offer many vegan options. I've always opted for a bagel sandwich and been very happy with the food. This past Saturday I was going to the movies nearby, and popped in because I wanted a bagel - just a bagel, nothing fancy. The sign board with all the menu items under Bagels listed a "BAGEL & FLAVORED VEGAN CREAM CHEESE" with the price of $5.50. I ordered a wheat bagel, toasted extra dark, with scallion vegan cream cheese. Side note, there are only plain and scallion vegan cream cheeses in the case. I was charged $4.95 for a bagel with cream cheese, AND AN EXTRA $1.75 for scallion tofu cream cheese. With tax and tip the total was $8.30 WHAT??!! I didn't even notice the prices until after I had paid. When I explained and questioned nicely that the menu item lists the bagel as $5.50 the cashier said she would check....and came back twice to say she was right. I repeated to her that it wasn't right, that the menu says differently. No one behind the counter would offer help or explanation or agree that THE PRICE ON THE MENU WAS WRONG, or that the Cashier had rung it up incorrectly. It wasn't even so busy that staff couldn't help. On top of all that, the bagel was barely toasted (I asked for extra toasted) and the cream cheese was too much - there was enough to cover three bagels at least. It was inedible. I was thoroughly discouraged and found this to be unacceptable staff behavior, improper preparation of the item I ordered, and unfortunately Smith Street Bagels will have lost a repeat customer.
Update: After coming here weekly for two years, the bagels are 5 stars, the service is 2 stars at best. Be sure to check your bagels on the way out the door, they mess up my order about half the time (not exaggerating). Their ordering system is weird and ineffective. Whoever is available at the bagel counter will take your order while only half paying attention and then scribble something on a post-it. Often they'll wander off and start doing something else while you're in the middle of ordering, and then they'll seem confused when they see you still waiting there. Then you tell the cashier what you ordered, they ring you up, and you join a large mob of people waiting for their orders. There are no names or numbers on the orders, so the cashier apparently has to memorize the order of every person waiting, which is understandably very error prone. Overall I feel bad for the employees, since this is clearly a management problem. Pretty much every restaurant in the world has figured out how to take orders from customers and then get them their food with minimal miscommunication, except for Smith Street Bagels. Their system might work for a small neighborhood shop where everybody knows each other but this place isn't a small neighborhood shop (it's large and often packed), and they don't seem to operate like a small neighborhood shop in any other way (like I said I've been coming here weekly for 2 years and as far as I can tell nobody has ever recognized me). Previous review: Best bagel shop in the area! They also have a lot of vegan options which is nice, tofu cream cheese and vegan chedar slices for sandwiches. If you're in the mood for something sweet the french toast bagel is great. If you want savory the chipotle and jalapeno cheddar cream cheeses are great.
I ordered the B4 sandwich on an egg bagel (steak, egg, caramalized onions, cheese) and it was cool at best. The standout of course was the egg bagel as it was very fresh and has that classic New York bagel taste. The egg bagel alone...I would give 8/10. Not amazing, but definitely not deli/bodega quality. The sandwich altogether I would give a 6/10. The quality was absolutely there and I really liked how my eggs were prepared but the steak and the onions were very bland. I did like how there were vegan cheese options. They advertised for vegan mozzerella but didn't actually have any. They put a very think layer of steak and I could barely find the onions. I would definitely return for a simple bagel but would love to see some effort put into the sandwiches.
First time I went was fine. The bacon egg and cheese wasn’t bad. Second time I got plain bagel with blueberry cream cheese (something I regularly get elsewhere) and the cream cheese was rancid. Horrible.
cashier overcharged me for a bagel after i tried to correct her 4 times, gave up and paid ten dollars for a one bagel with cream cheese. maybe don't have untrained cashiers working the breakfast rush
Good bagels, poor-improperly sliced nova-everything else adequate. Customer service never good-now awful. App doesn’t even work! Prefer paying 2-3x price for smaller bagels at Shelskys. As a small biz owner customer service is critical & they’re nonexistent here like most inadequate restaurants these days.
Do not order delivery or take out from this place. Unfortunately they do not read the actual order. In the span of 30 min, we ordered twice a bagel with eggs and bacon(no cheese in the menu item), and twice got an eggs, bacon with cheese bagel. They really don’t care if you don’t eat cheese, don’t allow noting no cheese in the order either. (Twice ignored also the toasted option)
My bagel was burnt and the cream cheese was melty. I didn’t want a toasted bagel and paid $15 for this off Seamless. When I called to say I wasn’t happy with it, they weren’t able to do anything for me. As I result, I’m making a mental note to go to one of the other 100 bagel places nearby next time.
I want this place to be great because a). I like their bagels and b). they're a local spot. But having ordered from here several times, the order is always messed up. I'm certain it's the cook staff, as I can see the employees taking down my order exactly as specified. In the end the condiments/cheese/bagel/meat/toppings are always missing or incorrect. I really just think there needs to be some quick QA before handing off the order. Otherwise I can only recommend ordering the bagels as is.
Ordered through Uber Eats and waited almost an hour past when the store said my bagels and coffee would arrive. The store disconnected their phone line or had it turned off to calls, neither I nor Uber Eats were able to get through to speak to someone about my order. I like their bagels but can’t recommend ordering delivery from here.
Let me start off by saying that this place isn’t what it used to be. I’ve been a customer for years and i don’t think i’ll be going back anymore. First of all the new manager is rude and snappy. She doesn’t resolve any issues regarding orders she just yells and accuses you of ordering wrong/not knowing how to order instead of just resolving the issue. I work at the school and many of my colleagues who used to frequent the store just don’t want to step foot in the store anymore because of her bad demeanor. Secondly the cashiers are so overwhelmed and have no idea what they’re charging people for. Every time i go there i end up paying a different price which wasn’t the case before. Honestly it just feels like the business does not care whatsoever about their customers which is sad. Me and my colleagues won’t be coming back as long as management remains the same.
Went to order their Sandwich platter they have listed on their menu for $65. Staff didn't know know how many sandwiches are in the plater. After a lot of back and forth, was told that there are 10 sandwiches. Proceed to order 3 platters. All of a sudden, they had to check with the manager. Again, after waiting for a good while was told that the manager doesn't want to give 10 sandwiches but they will check with her again. The manager never came out to resolve the issue. They claim that the menu is for online ordering, which, btw is also a scam, because in the process of ordering, they DOUBLE the advertised price. Very unprofessional and deceiving practices.
the place is good the bad I order my order on the door has my order arrived my says the delivirista you pay the tip in cash I told him I had already put the tip in application. doorhas tells me the tip does not appear here contact doodhas he tells me there is the tip of the delibirista the problem is the owner is working with another company it is called a relay there where they place the order but he is keeping the tips of the deliverista that is illegal
I ordered my food on Uber eats. The meal never showed up, so I tried to call multiple times but no one answered; the call went straight to voicemail. So I cancelled the order , but nearly two hours later it showed using a different service. Next problem, they didn’t deliver my entire order. I paid $23.02 for a sandwich because they forgot the part of my order and there doesn’t seem to be any way to contact any HUMAN to fix the issue. I’m so pissed and frustrated. This has never happened here, but if this the new normal, I’m out!
I asked for a bagel with cream cheese and salmon. I asked for the bagel to be heated. In the end, they gave it to me cold. I asked again. The employee literally yelled at me, saying I should have mentioned that before ordering. In the end, he put the bagel with the salmon into the oven to heat it. How safe is it to heat salted salmon in the oven?
Awful experience. The gluten free bagel, I specifically ordered in a separate bag was mistaken for a regular one. This being served to my chronically ill sister who cannot consume gluten was awful in itself. Then trying to contact the store by e-mail, Instagram and phone has been a nightmare. When I finally reached them and told them about their mistake (expecting an apology and a refund as the least they could do) they told me I should have called them earlier and hung up. So unprofessional!
Avoid. The coffee was bad and I waited 25 min for a bagel with cream cheese. When I unwrapped my bagel there was green stuff smeared across both halves, which I assume means they didn’t clean the knife in between orders, so I tossed it. So many other places to get good bagels in Brooklyn.
DONT GET DELIVERY WITH "SAUCE" I've had smith street bagels before and i loved them so i had them delivered because i had some time before work (working an overnight). They told me it would take 45 minutes - It took them 1 HOUR AND 45!!! I ended up not being able to eat it because i couldn't be late to work! After all of that- my roomate told me they got my order wrong (LOL); they refused to refund (??) or give a discount. Learn from me get it in store.
This morning I placed an order online at 8:53 am and I got my order around9:32 am. Cashier was so rude and I got a wrong order.I ordered for a double chocolate muffin and they gave me a choc chip muffin that’s twice hard (burned or old stock). I’ve already complained last Friday Oct 21 regarding the super hard muffin and here again I received the same thing! This will be the last time and never again I will visit this place ever! It shows in the receipt that I ordered double chocolate muffin not a chocolate chip stone muffin!!!!
Poor customer service, which I could overlook if they got my order correct. when standing at the back of the line where the bagels are being made, no one asked for our order. We went through the line to the cash register and tried to order there and were told we had to go back to where we originally were and order from the people making the bagels… still no one took our order, so eventually the cashier came over and took our order (despite saying she didn’t take orders) after we stood in line again. I ordered a plain bagel with bacon and jalapeño cheddar cream cheese. I received a plain bagel with either bacon or ham (unsure) and what appears to be blueberry cream cheese. Too bad I realized when I was already home and stood in line twice for an incorrect bagel.
Extremely disappointed in our order this morning and would caution others against ordering via Uber Eats. Ordered 7 bagels. Received 5 bagels. One of the bagels is sesame, which we did not ask for. Egg bagels and salt bagels are missing. Restaurant refused to refund for the missing and incorrect items.
Have you ever gone into a place and something tells you to leave? Well...that happened to me today. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel which was really good, however the service was terrible. I stood at the counter ready to order and no one greeted me. I then went to the register to order, said hello, and the man at the register just stared at me like i was dumb. As I proceeded to order he pointed and said order down there....where I was previously standing 😑 I thought maybe he's just not a morning person. But when he went out of his way to cater to a white man that was ahead of me, I knew it was something else. Wish I followed my first instinct....I will not be returning
I placed an online order for a party and would not recommend. After placing the order, I called to confirm — but the store never picks up and voicemail is full. In the order I instructed all bagels be sliced in ALL CAPS, and they arrived without being sliced. Pretty simple instruction. Of course I couldn’t verify it was followed because - they don’t pick up the phone.
Horrible service! Ordered 2 bagels a Gatorade and a Nesquick. Waited over two hours to only receive one bagel. Store doesn’t answer phone. Do not order from this store. Awful! Zero stars across all options.
Do not order uber eats delivery from them. They will not deliver, there phone doesn’t work. NOT UBER FAULT - they are using their own drivers and they are unresponsive, there is no way to get in contact, they are using a cheap AI call tool that will never pass you to the restaurant.
This the second time I have had a problem with the customer service here. My manager ordered a Pizza bagel online. The order wasn’t correct, so I went in myself to fix the issue. To my dismay - they gave me a hard time. I requested a mushroom pizza bagel with additional pepperoni. They charged me $3.58 just for pepperoni which confused me because the pepperoni pizza Bagel itself is $5.58. I felt like that was an outrageous price, and if I would have known ahead of time I wouldn’t have added the pepperoni. When I got the mushroom pizza bagel it didn’t even have that many mushrooms. But the audacity to pretty much charge me for another pizza bagel is insane. I will never show face here again!
Hi, I ordered from you two days in a row. The first order you gave me someone else’s order and I didn’t have time to call and deal with it. Today, you forgot half my order and got the coffee order wrong. I called your number multiple times and was cut off and could not speak with anyone. I will now be leaving negative reviews literally EVERYWHERE, unless someone calls me and makes this right. Thank you. J. Blum
Whoever makes their sandwiches seems to have never made a sandwich before. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel with avocado and tomatoes. They forgot the eggs and just put raw cheese and tomatoes on a bagel and smeared a spoonful of guacamole on it and called it a day. I tried to call and have them fix it but no one answered the phone.
I had a very disappointing experience here. I ordered a lox bagel with vegan cream cheese and a gluten-free bun. The total came out to $23, which is significantly higher than what I’ve paid for a similar order anywhere in Manhattan. I noticed I was charged extra for the gluten-free bun instead of it being a substitution, and when I asked about it, the cashier insisted that “lox is expensive” and that this was the correct price. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was also charged an additional $3 for extra cream cheese that I never requested. Instead of vegan cream cheese, I was given regular cream cheese plus extra — which I cannot consume due to lactose intolerance. Overall, this experience felt misleading and poorly handled. Customers deserve transparent pricing and accurate orders, especially when dietary restrictions are involved. I would recommend double-checking your receipt and order before leaving.
Bagels are great Unfortunately the service is a struggle. I clearly asked the woman behind the counter 3 different times for a dozen bagels - 4 blueberry, 4 rainbow, and the rest everything After confirming this multiple times, she went back and forth with another guy behind the counter When I got my bag I was not confident, so I checked and saw the rainbows and blueberries, so I thought I was fine. Came home and emptied the bag out, they gave me six rainbows, 2 blueberries, and nothing else. How hard is it to order a dozen bagels from a bagel place?
Avoid this place the workers are incompetent. Why have I ordered 10+ times from this place? No idea. 90% of the time the order is wrong, completely wrong with a different item, or something is missing. They just don’t care and they don’t read their tickets. So many other bagel places to order from!
This deli used to be great. Don’t know what has happened recently, but you will be lucky if you receive 1/4 of your GrubHub order correctly. Every single order lately is at least half wrong, missing multiple items completely and/or weird incorrect items added. Then, when you attempt to get some assistance, they have never ONCE answered their phone. There is no voicemail, and their email bounces back as undeliverable. Incredibly incompetent and unprofessional : ( Edit: dear Smith Street bagels Yes, I would like to hear your response but how can I possibly “reach out to you directly” as you requested, when you don’t answer the phone ( it doesn’t even ring. It is just chronically busy like it is broken, and there is not even voicemail apparently??? and your email is nonfunctional ?????
Ordered 2 lox and CC bagels through Uber eats. Order came without lox on either bagel despite being charged $20 per. Tried calling both numbers online without a working line. Walked to the store front which is closed and under construction. So the question is where are the bagels and food coming from?? Very sketchy and questionable. Highly recommend against ever ordering from this untrustworthy establishment.
I purchased French toast. I got 3 slices of French toast, no fruit or anything else. Just French toast. The French toast is dry! Need butter! Not the tastiest! It cost me $9 plus tax. Not worth it! The lady at the counter was nice. However, I was given 1 syrup packet. I had to ask for another. I could have went to my local bodega, which I will do next time and purchased French toast with a protein for $8. Stick with the bagels! Overpriced!
