Came in for lunch and the sushi was delicious at a very reasonable cost. Service was also warm and attentive. The staff were nice and conversational which made for a really pleasant meal with a neighborhood feel. The chu toro with truffle and the wagyu and toro were standouts for me, but every sushi I tried was great! Will definitely add this to my NYC list.

I had a wonderful experience at Sushi by M. Each piece of my omakase meal was delightful but I loved the A5 Wagyu Beef with Uni and Foie Gras the best. $100 for 2 appetizers, 15 pieces, and a hand roll? Yes please! The service was also impeccable. The staff kept giving my table sake shots on the house, which was incredibly nice.

Had a great experience here! The staff was super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The food was fresh and really good. Chef Kenny was amazing, very skilled and friendly, and our waiter Anthony was super cool, helpful, and made great recommendations. You can tell everyone here really cares about the experience. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for quality sushi and great service.

We made a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday and we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! Everyone was so friendly and they took great care of us. We even got an extra piece of sushi and free shots of sake. Excellent deal and the sushi was super fresh and tasty. Would definitely come back!

I have been here 4 times already and the service, food, quality, flavors, temperature of the rice and the balance of the ingredients is all perfection. The quality of the fish they source is easily one of the best, and the way they create the nigiris with each one being so different but eqaully as delicious is crazy. Each sushi chef, the managers the waitstaff make it their mission to make you feel at home and happy with your experience. They are so happy to make sure you are enjoying your meal and make you feel like family. They remember you and are so glad to see you again. They go the extra mile in every sense of the word. I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. I have brought 2 friends already and they have loved it as well. I hear that there have been repeat customers. Highly, highly recommend coming here.

Came here on the first day of our NYC trip. We ordered $100 omakase set and enjoyed it! Seasoning on seafood and its combination of ingredients are not necessarily "authentic Japanese style" but I personally think it tastes pretty good. Once they knew it's my birthday they turned the lights off and sent out a small plate with candles on it. Unforgettable dinner for us.

Super high quality sushi! We came to celebrate my partners birthday. We enjoyed the 10pc Omakase. It was phenomenal. It was a little bit loud so i had trouble hearing what was each piece. I'd definately reserve at the bar instead of table for omakase next time. The hospitality was amazing. They even had a little birthday surpise for my partner without me asking. Will DEFINATELY return.

The sushi quality is so nice! I love the seared anko & aji, that is so creative that I don't eat it anywhere else. The other sushi is very sweet and fresh too. You can see the chef Tim is very passionate about his food. That makes us appreciate the food even more. The service is nice too, they often check how we are doing. The deco & vibe is more on the casual side but the chef make the atmosphere fun! I would recommend to come for a reason price yet high quality omakase!

The boss, Tim, personally made sushi for us 🍣 and showed consideration for the hard work of the staff 🥹 by treating several employees to a meal. It's the first time I've seen this, it's so heartwarming. I absolutely love the little fish and sweet shrimp‼️ They are fresh, sweet, soft, and tender🥹. Also, the chef specials like the Big Mac, Cheeseburger, and the newly introduced piece, Golden Ducky, are a must-try‼️

This is one of my new favorite omakase spots in the city. Not a single piece of fish was chewy. Every piece was so fresh. Love how they start with the less fatter pieces and work their way up. The experience got better and better with every piece. You can tell it was well thought out. It was one of my friends first time having omakase and he fell in love with sushi by m!

My wife and I were celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary, and we came here for dinner. The experience was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and was so nice and talkative with us, wishing us well. The food though? Amazing. The best quality fish, and best preparation of the fish, that I’ve ever experienced. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the city!

This was my first time at Sushi by M. Overall, it wasn’t bad. For $100, I think the ingredients were quite good— including caviar, salmon roe, otoro, bluefin tuna, uni, foie gras, and wagyu beef. My favorite dish was the ebi shrimp — it tasted great and had a really nice smoky aroma. The quality of the fish was good overall. However, I wasn’t very impressed with the rice. The texture and flavor of the rice, as well as the sauce brushed on it, weren’t as rich or well-balanced compared to other places I’ve tried. The atmosphere wasn’t as quiet or intimate as another omakase restaurant I’ve been to. The staff were attentive and friendly, though they spoke quite loudly. I understand that might be part of the restaurant’s style. Overall, I would say it was okay.
