Great atmosphere, music. Big guy with beard makes great drinks and super friendly. Prices are decent. Food is supwr good- try the lemon garlic wings and nachos.
The best bar/nightclub in Williamsburg in my opinion. I've tried out a lot of places in the area and this one consistently has a great crowd. They have shuffleboard, arcade games, and food for early in the night and then a DJ and reasonably priced drinks for later. They also stay open til 4 which is great.
This is my favorite place at the moment. First, because you can win free beer tickets if you hit 90+ points on Hoop Fever (I'm proud to say I've achieved quite often). Second, the bartenders are super cool...and give generous pours. Third, the food hits the spot for when you've just downed your fourth pickle back shot. I've never not had a good time here.
Great bar in Williamsburg. Crowded on the weekend. There can be a line to get in. Then you have to put your name on a list to wait for a text message to go downstairs. Downstairs is great! The music is a combination of upbeat classics and 2000s based music. Every late 20s and early 30s people would appreciate it. They have TV's where they were playing the movie Super Bad, which I found funny. The theme of the place was wooden everything with typical odd pieces on the walls that you would find in Brooklyn. The prices were decent relative to other bars and the atmosphere fun. Get there early or you'll be waiting. Hope this helps!
Loved the location, attentive staff, good music, didn't rate the food because kitchen was closed at the time but the drinks were great. Good place to spend with friends or even spend a birthday, like I did :)
It's all about the room downstairs. With games of conenct four, skeet ball, and shuffleboard, it makes a great date spot. I can't understand foebthe life of me why it's so empty om week nghts. The place has so much charm. Love it!
Cool local hangout spot. 2 floors. Friendly competent bartenders. Good mix drinks and bar snacks. Real mozzarella sticks! Pool table and skeeball. Fun night with a 20 something crowd
Paid a visit to Brooklyn while on vacation and came in for some food and to watch the World Cup. Our bartender Ash was awesome, welcoming us and making some food suggestions, vegan BBQ rib sandwich was sooo delicious. We also ordered some spicy pickle backs, they were equally delicious. No lunch time rush here so we got to enjoy some small talk with Ash and a few other customers. Not sure how this place is on the weekends but we had a great experience and would recommend it for lunch anytime! We'll be back next time we're in town!
I immediately got good vibes at Whiskey Annex. The doorman was friendly and the bartenders were cool. We had a ball in the game room, watched some football and had some awesome appetizers. I will definitely stop by again when I'm in NY.
Came here with some friends after my birthday dinner. Sizable whiskey collection, the bartender that night was super friendly and the music was great! They also have arcade games which I didn't get to try out the night of my visit, but this place is definitely worth the hike from Manhattan to Brooklyn, all in all, a sure win.
Fantastic service from the bartender. They have a really great setup in here with a big U bar. A separate room / area with a lot of games. Also has their own whiskey distilled in Kentucky specially for this place. The whiskey was incredibly smooth.
The bartender Heather, was the most professional and friendly person that I have ever met! She was kind enough to find my jacket from the lost and found and she also was extremely professional to make everyone feel comfortable around her. She has got everything that you could ask for!
Very nice and cool place. Diverse music playlist. Better to be open to all types of genre. Wide selection of drinks. Can get very busy on weekends. Sundays seem to be chill
From the moment we set foot here, it was a very cool experience. The sunday night bouncer and bartender were very friendly and helpful, and the food and atmosphere rocked..also everything was very clean. I can't wait to come back.
This is it, Look no further because you’ve found the right one! If you’re looking for a top of the line bar come on down to Whiskey Brooklyn. To start off whiskey and beer for 10$ you can’t beat that also the spicy pickle back was Choice. You can find all sorts of spirits and of course Whiskeys here including Red Breast which most places don’t carry. Now let’s talk about service, Ash is hands down by far on some next level make you feel right at home type of vibe! If you’re ever in the area make sure you stop by and have a drink! Cheers
Celebrated my birthday here with a big party. Great vibe, lots of space, reasonable prices, and the service is great. Joel behind the bar is the man!
One of my favorite places in the area. Music is always good bartenders super nice and drinks affordable. Plenty games to choose from so you won’t get bored. I had one sandwich here and for the bar food it was pretty well
The vibe of this place changes dramatically depending on when you're there. The upstairs has some good bar food and a laid back atmosphere no matter the time. The downstairs, however is my favorite part. They have shuffle boards, pop-a-shot and a couple other games and if you go there early it's not usually crowded. At night the music picks up and it turns into more of a club atmosphere, nit a whole lot of room for dancing, but depending on the crowd it's a great time.
Tuesday night is not the time to go if you like a loud crowded bar. Now if you like reasonable prices, good music, cold beer, yummy wings and the greatest bartender ever imported from Cleveland, Tuesday might be your night. So take your favorite people and enjoy. It is spacious and clean. My first time there, but it certainly won't be my last.Go on Tuesday and tell Bartender Cleveland, Ola sent you. Have fun, I did!!
Went on a Friday night to Saturday morning, the bar downstairs and DJ were great! Great atmosphere, not sure on the food since we ate somewhere else.
The food was REALLY good. I didn't expect much for bar food but it was amazing. This was my first time, I went for a birthday, they reserved a table, something I wouldn't have known had they not been there before. Good drinks, great staff, regulated bathroom. Overall had an AMAZING night. Will definitely go again
This is one of my favorite bars. It is two levels but downstairs is much better. You have to put your name and # on a list to go down but it's worth the wait and you can grab drinks upstairs while you wait. Downstairs is casual with a couple of games scattered throughout the bottom level, a good atmosphere, and decent music.
Great basement bar. We were here from 10pm until about 2am on a Thursday in December and it a great vibe and number of people. The DJ was playing a selection of current and classic pop songs which were maybe a little too loud for chatting but good for dancing. Food was average, but can't complain; served a purpose to fill us up with typical bar food (chicken, pizza, fries etc.). Service was great at the bar and was averagely priced for their beers. Plenty of seating. Also an area for games and photo booth. Shared basin for washing hands. Great bar and recommended for a fun night as a group.
Great neighborhood bar with a respectable list of whiskeys. I was introduced to pickle backs and had a few of the beer and whiskey shot specials. Garron the bartender was absolutely great. Talkative, lively, and made our visit pleasant. Had loaded fries, which were served with slices strips of bacon rather than crumbs. We were there around 8 pm on a weekday, so not much of a crowd.
Everything you want from a big dive bar, games and everything are a little pricey but it’s Greenpoint so I get it. Definitely a solid spot for a quick night cap
Always. A. Great. Time. There's two stories, huge bars, games, places to dance, places to sit, the bathroom system is efficient, the service is quick and friendly, never a cover and the bouncers are pleasant which is something I've learned is quite rare. I've accidentally stayed until closing numerous times simply because I was having so much fun. Go here.
Friendly bartender. Plenty of shuffleboard, which was a lot of fun. Couple arcade games too. Beer selection not that big, but the few they had were good. Very nice atmosphere. Wings and burgers were ok
Solid and fun bar! You walk downstairs to this huge space with lots of TVs, big horseshoe style bar and games! Shuffleboard, skeeball, basketball, big buck hunter- all the great games!!! Fun place and also a chill spot right in the heart of Williamsburg! Bartenders were super chill too. Enjoy!
Always packed but the security and bartenders make you feel right at home. Great space, music, and pours. They even have the best tasting seitan strips which made my vegetarian heart burst.
Not enough time to say all the compliments about this place. Great location, great drinks, not too pricey, great food. Great music especially on weekends. Great place to watch sports games. I saw the Giants playoffs a couple yrs ago. Place was lit.
The Whiskey Brooklyn is a gem that delivers on all fronts, offering a fantastic atmosphere, a remarkable whiskey selection, and truly welcoming service. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The whiskey selection here is nothing short of impressive. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just beginning to explore the world of whiskey, there’s something to suit every palate. The knowledgeable staff are more than happy to guide you through the menu, offering recommendations that enhance the experience and help you savor the best that The Whiskey Brooklyn has to offer. Beyond the drinks, the service truly stands out. The team is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a great experience for every guest. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet drink at the bar or celebrating with a group, you’re made to feel like a valued part of the community. The ambiance adds another layer of charm, blending a cozy, laid-back vibe with the perfect touch of Brooklyn energy. It’s the ideal spot for a casual evening or a special night out. In conclusion, The Whiskey Brooklyn combines an outstanding whiskey selection with top-tier service and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit for whiskey lovers and anyone seeking a great night out. I can’t wait to return for another exceptional experience!
I had a party with all my friends born in December and January, and they treated us with such thoughtfulness. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. When it was time for the birthday cake I brought, they surprised us with sparklers and even threw a whole party for us. It was honestly the best birthday experience I could have imagined at a bar. A huge shoutout to the amazing staff working on Saturday, January 18th, from 8 pm to 12 am — you were phenomenal, and my friends and I can't thank you enough!
This place has the best music! There is a little something for everyone. They have a whiter more relaxed bar upstairs but down stairs is where the fun is!! There are some games to play with friends as well as some arcade games. The DJ is always great and the bar has a great energy. The drinks are very reasonably priced. I never have a bad time when I’m there!
Been coming here for nearly 10 years but specifically wanna give a shoutout to the kind and fun staff. And oh yeah, they’re a certified Seger bar!
Whiskey Brooklyn is the best spot to host a birthday! The staff sets up a table for you with custom decorations and signs. They were super attentive and really helped make my birthday feel special. Around 9:30 or so the DJ came in and played some great early 2000s bops. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Friend loves this bar so he took us. Had a great in the basement playing games and watching football. Wasn’t over crowded and you could always move around and hear who you were talking to.
Really love this place it's been going strong in Williamsburg for a long time. The vibe, service, and food are always good. Staff are super cool, they get crowded but never to the point where you feel packed or can't move. It's definitely been one of my favorite places to go, just wished they opened earlier on certain days but all good, if your around stop in and check it out.
If you’re looking to host a celebration here, I would highly recommend. I just celebrated my birthday here with about 20+ people, and it was one of the best celebrations I’ve had. The staff were super attentive to my party and did some extra things to make it feel like a true celebration. The manager (shoutout to Jorge!), bartenders, and bus staff were all wonderful. I could not recommend this place enough and thank them for making my birthday celebration so fun.
I celebrated my birthday here, and it was the best night ever. They made me 3 amazing poster/banners. I loved it! and the staff was the sweetest ever. I couldn’t be happier, the manager, Joanne was great! They were so attentive and gave me shots! Thank you so much for making my night so special, I will forever recommend this place to my friends if you want to have fun and dance a lot!
Reserved a few tables for my birthday to watch the NCAA championship & it was awesome! Service was great, optimal viewing for the game & great vibes. They also printed out little happy birthday signs & gave me a free shirt - top tier service and perfect place to host. Thanks!!
This place is awesome! I usually don't write reviews, but I had to share my experience. I came here after my bachelorette dinner with a few friends. The staff was very friendly and hooked us up completely. They made my bachelorette night so special! We set up our own little booth area with our own decisions... People loved it, no one judged. Not only was the staff great, but the customers were also very kind. We ended up seeing quite a few other bachelorette parties which made it even more fun. We went on a Friday night, so there was a dj. They have games, food, drinks and friendly New Yorkers... What more can you ask for? 💕😊
Came here because it was reccomended by a friend of mine for the games. I came around 6pm on a Tuesday and there were only a handful of people inside. It was super chill and the bartenders, Tony and Ash really looked out for me. They reccomended good whiskeys for me to sip on and a few other dope bars in the area for me to try. Tuesday was chill but I look forward to coming back on other nights for the dope bartenders and to try a few of the bar games.
This feels like the type of bar I'd always imagined when I was younger. Good food, some games in the back, a few areas to mingle maybe, funny artwork or signs everywhere... the bar was in the dead center which is a great placement, seating isn't too far away so that's great. I went on a quiet night and I know that's not normal but maaan that was also a vibe, it felt personal. I will have to go again and experience this place at its best when everyone can be there.
Great place to get drinks and listen to music. They even have an arcade section and great TVs to watch sports games. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this spot for a hang out. On weekends this place gets packed with great throwbacks.if you want to find a place that has a diverse crowed this is the place. They have a wide selection of liquor and food.
This whiskey bar is a cool place because you kind of get the best of both worlds. Upstairs it's nice and quiet downstairs is more lively with games and a pool table. I Hung out with a friend and had a couple of flights of whiskey. The bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. I would definitely recommend The Whiskey Brooklyn to a friend.
Good bar food & they definitely have a strong in-house well whiskey. Plus, for entertainment they have bunch of video games and boxed shooting B-Ball hoops in the basement. Decent crowd around 4pm on a Saturday.
Such a fun place. Lots of bar games like shuffle board and basketball hoops shooting. Pricing is decent. Place gets pretty packed at night and there is no cellphone service but has free wifi
Very decent price on beers, of course related to that specific area of Brooklyn. It really depends on the day and time you go, The Whiskey Brooklyn could vary from a friendly and chill place to a really crowded and rude spot. On week days, not bad for entertain yourself with a few friends, on the weekends I think it’s better if you go early (before 11pm) otherwise you will find yourself waiting for more than 40 minutes just to get downstairs! Anyways, Enjoy guys!!
Nice place to get together with a small group of friends. A few games to play. Very nice bar set up. Great patronage. Everyone enjoyed singing along to throwback music from the 90s and 2000's
Great music from the early 2000's. If you like Britney, NSYNC, and Backstreet Boys you will be sure to hear a few songs here. It's a good place to drink beer and dance. Plus they have a few arcade games.
It is football season- this place is really fun to watch a game! I wish for a bigger menu sometimes but again- its Football season! Focusing on the game and good beer. Oh- best Pickle-backs to date! Give it a try and then try the spicy pickle back! Woooh!
Never had a bad time here. Will say whatever DJ that was on Saturday of Halloween weekend sucked. He’s not it- Bad transitions and bad song choice. He should look around and see nobody’s dancing next time & change the songs. Too much 70s pop/ and punk pop. One or two mixed in well could be a bop, but he played an hour of pop punk. Also a lot of Taylor swift and bland top 40 radio songs. Just need better options. He played mo bamba and skipped the best part.. y’all know what I’m talking about. That’s easy work, how do you mess that up.
Fast and friendly service, chilly downstairs (maybe too cool). The food seems decent, have only been here a couple of times though. Games like pinball and skee ball also downstairs. This bar has plenty of space, i have yet to see it packed out with people but I haven't been there on a busy Friday or Saturday night.
I normally go here during the week during happy hour. Great bar food, sockets at the bar, and board games at the booths. Then I went on a weekend night. Totally different crowd with great music that was wasted. Go here anyway and be courteous to the staff and security. They put up with a lot of BS.
She’s cute to come sing and dance to pop songs with your friends !! Come later for a more live dance floor. It’s slightly reminiscent of prom dance floor and I don’t know if I mean that in a good or bad way. It’s nice that upstairs is more chill, and then you can dance down below.
The whiskey is a cool spot, good music. Bartenders are good overall nice vibe.
Definitely one of the coolest bars I’ve been to in the last 2 years. The food is not amazing but it’s alright, the games are fun, the people’s vibe is 90s-2000s. The music was good and the atmosphere was amazing, people were just enjoying without any judgement. Only downside is the beers are a bit $$$
Honestly was a great atmosphere. A few of us (mixed crowd) came here to party, and the dance floor got pretty crowded after a few hours, but the vibes remained good. Not much to complain about.
This is a chill place. I came here on a Saturday night and ordered a few whiskey cocktails. I found a seat at the edge of the room and had some good vibes.
Whiskey Brooklyn is the perfect spot for a fun night out with a large group of friends. Upstairs, you'll find a classic sports bar serving solid bar fare, while the downstairs transforms into a lively club on weekend nights. During slower weeknights, the basement offers plenty of games to keep the fun going. Whether you're there for the casual sports vibe or the late-night dance scene, it's always a good time at Whiskey Brooklyn!
Came here for my cousin’s birthday get together. A ton of our friends stopped by and since it’s such a large open space, it was perfect. I LOVED the Spicy Margarita- def must try, plus they have a photo booth(: Bouncers were really cool but the bartender near us was pretty dry/rude.Will be back eventually *hopefully* with better service.
Not too sure about this place. I'm a whiskey girl so I ordered the whiskey lemonade and found the whiskey lacking....it was more lemonade than whiskey. I also ordered the wings with fries, the fries were great! I may have ordered a second helping. The wings were not so great....probably went order it again. I stayed for about an hour and it seemed like there is maybe some dancing on a Friday night. I left while they were removing chairs from the seating areas. All in all...not too sure I will go back.
More of a three dollar sign $$$ bar, especially when surrounded by other much cheaper venues. Plenty of space to hang out with a group and have place to dance. There's even shuffleboard and some arcade games towards the bathroom area. The music was great, but beware of it being extremely loud! Overall, it's an okay place.
Cool neighborhood bar near the brewery. Lots of high top narrow tables for groups. We’ve been there twice over the years. The whiskey selection is much lighter that I remember from our last visit 5-6 years ago.
A bit pricey but not a terrible time. I honestly don't recommend the place if you're just trying to burn time waiting for a show at Brooklyn Bowl... Decent atmosphere and pretty affluent crowd. It's definitely not my gig though, I'm sure it'd suit other people much more closely. Two whisky gingers = 32 bucks
I usually like to give good comments. I've been there several times and I've had a different experience each time, for better or worse. The place is nice and has games, etc. The service I personally received most of the time is a little disrespectful, takes a long time, and the bartender serves without much desire. I don't know if I'll go back there again, but the alcohol is really cheap. It's something that must be noted. A nice place to start the evening.
I gave this place a try again and i like it BUT i ask one of the bartenders if the kitchen was close he told me that they open until 2 am so i was taking a look of the menu for 2 minutes max and then i ask another bartender for the burger and he told me that the kitchen was closed and told him that the other bartender told me that the kitchen was open so he literally went around the bar to “check “ if the kitchen was open and obviously it was. Anyways he didn’t want to take my orders or he was tired I don’t know the others two bartenders seems nice and attentive, I think the way your staff treat as it makes the whole experience at your bar a lot of difference. I got my burger and beer but whoever the manager is they need to check always the service at the bar to make the experience nice.
Went here on Saturday night for a birthday party and was yelled at 3 times. And yes, I shouldn't have thrown a napkin in the air so sorry about that, but I don't think I deserved to have a bartender come around from behind the bar downstairs and scream in my face about how disrespectful I am, especially after spending over $200 and giving a hefty tip. I could understand if I did something REALLY bad or disrespectful, but throwing a napkin in the air...? Pretty much every bar I've ever been to has had people doing that.
List of various reasons I was denied entrance into this establishment: “Your drivers license is expired” “You have a warrant out for your arrest” (I do not) “It’s open to everyone but you” “Everyone in your group can come besides her” (later on when the individual did go home we attempted to go back only to be told the same exact line about another girl in our group) If you do manage to get by the worst pack of bouncers, your experience here is $15 drinks with 90s Hits Pandora station blasting in your ears. One of the worst run bars in the area, would not recommend to my worst enemy
The bouncers here are the worst. I'm not sure when the service at the front door changed but looking 25 does not constitute disrespecting someone. There are plenty of other nice bars in the neighborhood. I highly suggest trying ANY other spot.
Nice looking place but the policy is no drinking if you drove over. Which would be understandable if you're drunk or appear to be. Was looking to eat and have a beer but wouldn't let me have a beer even after driving 40 minutes just to go there. Front door guy was nice about it but then was told I couldn't have a drink after being awkwardly introduced to the bartender downstairs who had to deem whether I could have a drink or not. Another bartender downstairs had attitude issues and asked me to leave after joking with him, so I did. Would not recommend this place at all. Spend your money next door at Brooklyn Brewery before wasting your money with these guys. Bunch of morons working at this place.
If i could rate them a 0 star i definitely would have...this bar is absolutely filthy from their bathrooms to their kitchen and their staff. Also, if you ask to complain to the manager/owner about the service that you received, you will be led to believe that you will be able to speak to them but in actuality you will be threatened and thrown out of the building. I have never experienced anything like this treatment in all the years of visiting these types of establishments. I truly recommend steering clear of this place and visiting any number of others where you will be treated fairly and where they value your patronage.
After a round of 10 horrible drinks, me and my friends decided not to tip for the service. Which ultimately ended up in me and my friend getting blacklisted from the bar for "not acting properly". After which the bouncer did not let me explain myself and referred to me as doggy and told me they don't want my kind there anymore. Being one of my favourite bars I can say that I have had the worst bar experience of my life and would not even want to go back there.
Went there with party of 13 with reservations, but due to the nastiness of the bouncers we didn't even go in. they had an issue with everyone's ID my fiancee hwho is in the military was not allow to use his ID as identification. According to the bouncer his MILITARY wasn't a government issued ID. Then I gave him my driver's permit which is government issue, but he said that I needed a driver's license not a permit. Honestly I think he just did not liked us, because right after a group of three girls walking in and one did not had ID. Overall.. we had fun at another place! there are many great places around!!!
Went there with a large group, having a good time till rude security ruined the night and threw a helpless young man out from our party for falling off his seat. Security was unreasonable and made constant references to how his daddy spoke to him due to some internal insecurity. Owner stood by and watched while it all went down without a peep, Stay away the place sucks.
Bouncer was so rude!!! Wouldn’t take my valid NY ID, kept yelling at me for waiting for my friend inside, and then made me stand in the cold and snow, and continued to yell at me from inside. Have honestly never had a worse experience with a bouncer, genuinely cruel person
I came to this bar many times. Last Saturday I recommended for a birthday party after dinner. We had a group of about 20 all different beliefs and views just staying to ourselves and having fun. I wrote vote Trump on the bottom of my receipt when signing and was kicked out due to them not doing politics let me remind u we spent a ton of money and was are to ourselfs. After being kicked out of course the group came out as well wondering what happened after leaving the security told people what happened stating how we supported Trump remind u the group I was with the majority of people didn’t. They proceeded to call us scrappers and throw stuff at us. I reached out to management see what they will do do to the issue they said they spoke to the bartenders and my party caused a lot more issues then that. Which was completely untrue and they only escorted me out with 3 security guards lmfao. Stating they don’t do politics when they literally advertised the debate. Stop discriminating of all kinds don’t support this place.
The place itself looks nice. The owner was nice. The bartenders were awesome. However, the security was terrible. They are very rude. The security Guard checking ID's had a horrible attitude problem. We were all very nice to him yet he seemed to just have a problem with me. & then Instead of asking me to take my hat off or telling me there's no hats allowed the security Guard actually ripped it off my head when i wasn't looking. I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to touch your customers. Then on top of that it was so crowded & they wouldn't even let you outside to smoke a cigarette. I felt like I was in a prison. Terrible experience. Wouldn't recommend going there until they get better security personnel.
This place is AWFUL! They are extremely racist, we were coming from next door when they wouldn’t let is in because “we were drinking next door” they were initially letting us in until they saw the black guy in our group and then denied us immediately. They probably are fat phobic as well but def racist. Go anywhere else, I’ve also never written a google review but I’ve never experienced something so egregious in my life living in NYC. Go next door to cafe ballerica they are extremely kind and welcoming and create a SAFE environment
Went there with a big group, bouncers were rude and wouldn’t let the last person (the birthday girl nonetheless) in because they thought she was too drunk. It was also pouring and they made everyone stand out in the rain while they checked ids when there’s more than enough room inside to do that. Their demeanor the whole time was just overall nasty. I’ve been here before and liked it but will not be coming back after this terrible experience.
Came here with some friends, my boyfriend tried to place his order online. His order went through, but the bartender was confused and asking how we were able to even order online. My boyfriend showed him his phone, demonstrated the workflow, and showed him the receipt. The bartender proceeded to take his phone, and DELETE THE RECEIPT and act like he hadn’t seen it in order to not have to provide service. Obviously, we just pulled it back up and it forced him to… do his job. Not only was the bartender RUDE, but DUMB. Who doesn’t know about the recently deleted emails folder? Honestly, I wish we just did a chargeback on the card, I regret giving this dishonest establishment any money.
This place is great if you are looking for mediocre cocktails and condescending managers. Their whiskey list is super short so don't expect anything special there. Our bartender was Heather and while she was great there is nothing else great here. After realizing their whiskey list fit on an 11x4 list I should've known what was to come. There's a game room in the back and it quotes if you score 450 on skee ball you get a free draft beer. Low and behold I hit that number. Simultaneously our machine wouldn't stop spitting out balls after we swiped our card. Worried we were getting charged more than the expected $5 the bartender stated we shouldn't use cards and only cash. Great solution! Then I asked for my free draft beer and was given a can instead even after I questioned it. Frustrated with this guys complete lack of respect for customers, I embarrassingly threatened a 1 Star review, here it is, and walked away. Then the, I'm assuming bar manager, Jo Jo, came over to try and make things right. She brought me a draft beer. Gee thanks! Not before some condescending comments like "if giving us a 1 Star will help you sleep at night, go for it", or "there are some people we throw out for bad behavior." And my personal favorite, "you know some of our bartenders are on their 5th day working in a row". Wow didn't know working five days in a row was so difficult. Long story long, avoid this place. They don't deserve to have whiskey in their name and they don't deserve you're business.
I came here with my boyfriend and a group of friends to celebrate a friend’s birthday. At the entrance, the bouncer asked my boyfriend to pour out the water in his bottle. He complied and dumped it out, but some of the water didn’t go far enough, which seemed to upset the bouncer. The bouncer then denied him entry. This felt rude and disproportionate, especially since my boyfriend followed the instructions he was given. As a result, our entire group chose to leave and won’t be returning.
I am someone who works in the industry so I understand the significance of a one star. I am really only writing this so management/owners can see this. Last night, I was here with my partner and a few of her friends. They are young women in their mid 20's. Should not be relevant but unfortunately is. At 3, the upstairs closed and they said that we could go downstairs to finish our 4 60 dollar well drinks (nyc whatever). We were sitting at a booth, when at 320 a staff member said that they were closing in 10 minutes and that they would like for us to finish up. No problem, we got to work. Not even 30 seconds later, a man (I believe he was a bartender but I can't say for sure) wearing all grey began to yell and borderline horass everyone in the bar. Saying that it was time to go, that they were closed, and it was time to leave. It was 321. We were told we could stay until 330. He came over to our area MULTIPLE times and screamed and clapped in my partner and her friends faces. He was a larger man and was making my friends extremlly uncomfortable. The tone in which he was speaking at everyone their was wildy inappropriate and frankly, otherwise should be a fireable offence. It was disgusting behavior. He came over to our table, and slapped it, clapped in our faces, horassing us to leave. Again, I get it. I have been there. But close is 330. While that behavior is never warranted or appropriate, I understand being frustrated once close hits, espipically 15 minutes after. But this was 10 minutes before! We could not even finish our drinks, so I only got to enjoy 40 dollars of our drinks. Regardless, to management, to ownership, you should figure out who did this and get a lock on how you guys go about closing. I gurantee that anyone that was there last night (morning of december 7) will never, ever return. Extremely uncomfortable, no one should talk to anyone like that, especially young women otherwise being compliant.
I absolutely never write reviews. And enjoyed the spot and the wings. Then I walked in an opening slightly behind the downstairs bar to go to the bathroom , didn’t know I couldn’t do that as it’s an open space. Some worker comes up to me yelling at me with a pumped up chest clearly ready to throw some hands, that I’ll be kicked out if I do it again and that only an idiot wouldn’t know that I couldn’t walk being the bar (again it was a clear opening to get to one side to the other with 0 signs, wasn’t really “behind” the bar). Ridiculous attitude for absolutely no reason… when other workers saw me going to apologize to the guy as I said “hey dude I get it, no reason to talk like that” they simple told me to drop it… usually an argument that people use when they know they are being A-wholes. Anyway I tried to be chill and cordial, he were being tight and seemed like he wanted to fight. Think this establishment should reach out to me becuase I’m a chill dude… this guy will for sure get into fights if he hasn’t already.
