I luv pelicana. My local Pelicana had closed down, so eating here brings me back to those precious memories of me enjoying their juicy, round pieces of chicken. It was very good and the server was attentive and the food was prepared quickly. Very good, I love fried chicken and this is in my top 5 fried chicken spots.
Located inside the MaDang Mall in Los Angeles Koreatown, Pelicana Chicken is by far the best Korean fried chicken. Pelicana Chicken is a well respected Korean chicken brand that has been around since the 1980s. There are many Korean chicken brands in Los Angeles Koreatown, but Pelicana Chicken is the best. I highly recommend getting the Crispy Chicken half and half with half original and half with the signature sauce (which is sweet and spicy). Parking is free in the parking garage with validation.
Good chicken Pelicana Chicken in Los Angeles is a popular destination for Korean fried chicken enthusiasts. Known for its crispy, flavorful chicken, the restaurant offers a variety of sauces, from classic soy garlic to a spicier kick, catering to different taste preferences. The chicken is double-fried, resulting in a satisfyingly crunchy exterior while remaining juicy inside. The menu also features sides like pickled radish and fries, which complement the chicken well. The ambiance is casual, making it a great spot for a laid-back meal with friends or family. Service is generally efficient, though it can get busy, especially during peak hours, leading to longer wait times. Prices are slightly higher than some fast-food chicken joints, but the quality and flavor justify the cost. Overall, Pelicana Chicken offers a delicious and authentic Korean fried chicken experience in Los Angeles, perfect for those craving something crispy and flavorful.
Came in today to try this spot that I would always pass by omw to Somi somi in k town. Chicken was nice hot juicy and fresh. Amazing service as well!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pelicana – Crispy Korean Fried Chicken & More! 🍗 I recently visited Pelicana inside Madang Courtyard and had such a great experience! I honestly didn’t visit this place in the first place because when they first opened, the reviews were pretty questionable, but the chicken turned out to be exactly how I like it—super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I tried the new Spicy White Crunch (boneless only) and it was perfectly spicy for heat lovers like me! For something milder, I heard that their white crunch is also delicious. Oh and the Honey Soy was a huge hit at our table too. They also have a variety of fun Korean pub-style side dishes—the White Garlic Fries were delicious, but my personal favorite was the Peli Choco Ball—so unique and addictive! The vibe is very much like a Korean pub, chill but fun, and the fact that they have 4-hour validated parking made the whole experience even better. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you want to enjoy some great K-chicken and drinks without worrying about parking.
This Pelicana Korean Chicken spot in Madang Mall is a hidden gem! 🍗 Craved some Korean fried chicken on a Saturday night, and this place did not disappoint. It's a chill spot with K-pop vibes and friendly service. Tried half original, half signature house sauce, and it was MAD 🔥! Cheese balls were alright, but the chicken stole the show—juicy, crispy, and that sauce...the Service was top-notch too. Definitely coming back for more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good vibes at this place. Really good and crispy friend chicken, sauce wasn’t too much and I enjoyed my experience here. I liked the interior design, and they serve coke products which was nice variety. Sides were good. I had cheese balls French fries and the garlic crispy chicken. Great place to share a meal with someone. Not my number one Korean chicken place but definitely up there, I would love to come back here
Our family of 6 came in around 5:30 pm on Sunday. We were seated right away. The servers were super friendly. They gave us a to-go plastic cup and plastic fork for our toddler. One tip for you is to order Crispy! Crispy signature fried chicken: the signature sauce was sweet and had a kick of spiciness. It tasted like the yangnyum chicken I remember from Korea. All fried chicken had a crispy coat outside so that when I bit into it, it made a *crunch* sound. The inside was very warm and the meat was so tender! Crispy honey soy fried chicken: interesting sauce. It's more sweet than salty, meaning there's more of honey. I liked it! It was a different take on fried chicken. Twisted donut: wow! I didn't think I'd like it since I was so full from the chicken but this was darn delicious! It had more of a rice cake (dduk) than your typical donut texture so think of it like mochinut. It was served warm, freshly fried, coated with sugar and cinnamon. Yumz!! A pitcher of Kirin draft beer: fresh and carbonation - very refreshing. We were also served with 2 sides of cabbage salad sprinkled with mayo sauce and pickled radish. When we asked for more salad, the servers gave us more! I'd definitely come back!
Here's the deal with Pelicana Chicken. As someone who's never tried Pelicana, I had ZERO expectations. My girlfriend and I got the Banban crispy chicken and while it was good, it there are definitely better Korean chicken shops in LA. It took a while for the food to come out, but it was definitely crispy and the sauce tasted good, however here's what I would do if I ever came back. I would get a plain fried chicken and order a few different sauces on the side. It gets a bit tiring when you only get one or two flavors so more variety definitely helps. We also went during their soft opening so understandably, their service was a little slow, but I'm sure they'll figure it out with a little bit of time.

super cozy and delicious food! Boneless Chicken was actually boneless style where the chicken is pulled off the bone and not nuggets which made it super juicy and flavorful!
Personally, this was the closest taste to the chicken I had in Korea. The seasoned chicken, in particular, was really delicious. I honestly think Korean chicken is the best. I do plan to try other places as well, but this one really feels like a must-visit spot, so I definitely recommend it!"
Pelicana is well known in Korea for their fried chicken and their Los Angeles location is no different. The restaurant is situated in the Hmart plaza on western and is next to a courtyard offering a nice place to hangout if you want to get your wings and sit outside. The chicken comes either as whole chicken, wings or boneless and there are different sauces to choose from. We opted for the honey soy. They were delicious, piping hot and well flavored. It certainly satisfied my crave for Korean fried chicken. When comparing to other Korean wings though, I think I prefer Kyochon more, specifically for their batter and extra crispiness. These were good but the honey sauce soaked through the batter quickly while the ones at Kyochon seemed to have the honey be part of a hardened glaze around the batter.
So we got here WELL BEFORE closing time at around 8pm (they close at 11pm). It was around 8 of us, and we split ourselves into 2 groups, one of 3 and one of 5, and we'd each get up and order from the cash register and pay there. Despite this, we still go charged the "large group fee" or service fee or whatever it is called 😆. Nevertheless, Eric was a fantastic manager and server, so the ranking is bumped from 3 to 4. The last order of chicken took a whole lot longer to get sent out than usual, so I am assuming some miscommunication happened in the kitchen and they forgot to put it in, but no biggie. Pelicana is incredible in terms of the quality (this is the 3rd location I've visited): the fried chicken is top-notch and truly an option to consider if you are craving some fried chicken.
Korean fried chicken at Pelicana Chicken 😋🍗🍗 I love KFC so much because of how perfectly crispy yet tender the chicken is🤤 🍽️Ordered: 1. Signature fried chicken 2. Soy garlic fried chicken 3. Cheese balls 4. Onion rings 5. Tossed French fries The dishes here were definitely on the sweeter side but they were so indulgent and yummy. The cheese balls had a mochi like texture and it was so satisfying to bite into! The signature flavor of the chicken was my favorite since it was tangy, sweet, and salty. This was a great meal after a wonderful day spent with friends ✨😚
New chicken place in Ktown LA. I got the original fried chicken and the cheese crispy chicken. The original classic was very good. Good, classic Korean yangyeom sauce. The cheese one however was overly salty. Chicken quality seemed good overall. The order was for pick up which was ready in 15-20 min. I liked that the packaging had a hole on top keeping the chicken crispy and not soggy. It comes with a small side radish. Another downside was the price. I think it’s above average price compared to other chicken places in ktown offering the exact same chicken. They have a bar, ample indoor seating and small outdoor seating as well.
I looked up chicken with cheese, and this place popped up. #koreanchickenwings It’s the new and the first location in #LA besides Downey, Artesia, Buena Park, and further east. It’s on the first floor close to Daiso Japan and across from Paris Baguette. We came on Wednesday night around 8 pm, and no reservations were needed, and we got seated right away. We ordered the chicken with cheese called Cheese Buldak. We waited 15-20 mins for the food to come out, and the chicken was great with the cabbage on the sides, making it less salty. The salty level was mild, but after eating the cabbage can tell a bit 6/10 for saltiness. The music was a bit loud, and we barely can talk or heard each other. They have inside seating with plenty of space, a bar, and also outdoor seating. Validation is located in the HMart Madang Plaza and available at Hmart or the restaurant you dine in.
First things first, some practical notes. Pelicana is located on the first floor, in that open court area of Madang. Parking wise, they provide 4 hours worth of validation. Now onto the food. I got the peli lunch box, which is misleading online, because it says chicken, fries, salad, and fried rice for $17. But it’s only chicken and a choice of fries or rice, which is why I think it’s also cheaper at $14. The chicken itself is good, but not anything more special than other places I’ve had in Ktown. These were chicken tendies tho, not wings. Fries were a little limp. Sauce was an extra $2 which is kind of absurd. I was hoping for something more special, but didn’t find the magic. I’ll give it one more chance to try wings/drumsticks next time.
I can’t believe the donut was so much delicious than the normal bakery! The chicken was good, and the portions of the food were just enough for 4 people! I don’t suggest you to order Tokkppoki.. Tokkppoki was too dry and not chewy.

I came here following a Tiktok video. To be honest, the chicken did not satisfy my taste, my experience about Korean chicken before when I tried them in authentic local Korean chicken restaurant. We ordered 2 types of chicken, spicy one & fried one (2 sauces). Both dishes were too much sweet for me, like fried chicken deep in jam. The spicy one was at least a lil bit less sweet. About the fried chicken, the flour outside is thick. Anw, it’s not bad at all.

My friend has never had Korean fried chicken before, and I wanted him to try it, so we came to this place. The taste of the fried chicken is great. We absolutely loved it. My friend said it was the best fried chicken he's ever had. I think he's exaggerating, but it's good—very delicious. Now, you're probably wondering why I'm giving it a 2-star rating. It would have been a 5-star place in my book, but they really messed up in the service category. We ordered on the kiosk, and then we were told that we could not sit inside to eat our chicken because it's for takeout only if we order from the kiosk. We ended up having to find a spot in the courtyard and ate our meal on the concrete floor. It might have been our oversight for not seeing the sign, but it's disheartening and inflexible for a restaurant to refuse to let its customers enjoy their meal inside the restaurant. The place had only one table of customers and had plenty of available tables for us to sit. We even asked if we could sit outside, but they said no. I think they were worried about the tips, which we would have left them some if they let us enjoy our meal there. Later, they saw that I was taking a video, so I think they realized that I'm some sort of reviewer. Shortly after that, one of the staff members came out to the courtyard, gave us some napkins, and apologized. But that was a little too late. We were mostly done at that point. It ruined the experience for my friend's first Korean fried chicken. The atmosphere was average. Nothing notable to mention, except for the few tables they provided for outdoor seating.

Ordered "Ban ban"-half original half sauce. The delivery came right away(only 10min) but As soon as I opened the box, I couldn't believe it. The fried original was so dark, anyone can tell that the frying oil hasn't changed which is gross. The batter was nothing crispy but clumping mass. I sent the picture to my family in Korea and they could not believe that a chicken restaurant had the audacity to put this out for customer. Why risk bad review, potentially lowering profit?!! What you reflects who you are. You represent your ethics thru the product you're selling. DO NOT EAT HERE. THIS IS VERY FAR FROM STANDARD KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN.
Chicken Wings that has Feathers? 🪶 🐔 I can't believe I chow down few wings I ordered last night had feathers on, I am having stomachache along with Diarrhea and fever along. Not only one wing but most of them had feather everywhere! Isn't this Crazy? Been taking Pepto bismol all day! Dont know how they're prepping their food... Not only concerned about food safety but taste got much worst than before!
