woon is a wonderfully quaint, casual restaurant that is absolutely perfect for a weeknight dinner out. the service was excellent, the food came out less than five minutes after we sat down, and we were in and out in under thirty minutes while still being extremely well fed and satisfied. the beef noodles were the stand out dish for us, smoky, seasoned, chewy, with tender beef and crunchy greens it was an absolute must-order. highly recommend!
This is an authentic Taiwanese home-style restaurant. I had saved it after seeing it on social media and finally visited on a weekday evening. The interior reflects the owner’s great sense of style—what could have felt like a small space was cleverly designed to feel cozy and inviting. Sunlight streaming through the windows added warmth to the atmosphere, and surprisingly, the air conditioning kept the space cool and comfortable. The food is simple but flavorful. The noodles in the beef fried noodles dish were wonderfully chewy and had a great bite to them—definitely a standout. The fried rice, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. The bun was tasty, but I’d especially recommend the noodles.
To start off, you go to the counter to order and pay before you are seated if there is no tables or come in during rush hour just FYI. The food was amazing to start off with the beef noodles, the steak was tender, and the noodles were flavorful. The wings were some of the freshest and crispiest wings I’ve ever had, add some tableside chili oil to the wings… the fried rice was really solid…. The pork belly boa was by for the best item of the menu we had. The pickled carrots and pickles with the savory and tender pork belly went delicious with the soft bread. I totally recommend this for all four plates, I spent $61 before tip.
design + branding for this restaurant is incredibly cool and the food lives up to the art direction quality !!! beef noodles (while throwing on their spicy home made sauce) had such a perfectly charred authentic flavor to it’s richness and the chewy noodle texture brought it all together. ASMR chewing experience the tofu + cucumber salad had this intriguing acidic balance to it and super firm small cut tofu texture that paired great with the beef noodles in between bites. The pork belly bowl was tender, rich and tasty too !! scallion pancakes with the dipping sauce was yummy, I’m used to a thicker pancake up in the Bay but the crispy thin acted as a chip which I loved. Fair pricing, everything felt so intentional. Recommended !
Was not disappointed by the top rated reviews of Woon, and glad we made the trek over to Filipinotown for a meal here (we walked about an hour from our hotel). The menu is limited but everything we ordered was excellent, including the pork belly rice, beef noodles, five spice chicken wings and ice cream bao (with pandan coconut). Service was friendly and attentive, despite us not giving a tip when we paid cash at the counter when ordering (we tipped at the end of our meal). We're not used to the tipping culture, but this was definitely a meal we were more than happy to tip for. This was our last meal during our stay in LA and so glad it ended on such a satisfying note. Would definitely come back again if we were ever back in LA in the future.
Our friend group supper club chose this spot on a Sunday night and weren’t disappointed. It’s a casual vibe with a nice outdoor patio. You order at the counter but don’t let the line of people deter you from stopping by, because the food comes out incredibly fast. I have to say, everything we tried was complex and savory. They also have organic wines to pair with your meal. Between the five of us, we were able to order multiple entrees and appetizers to share. The prices are very reasonable and it was great to try multiple dishes. I definitely recommend this spot for a date night or if you want to bring your dog because the patio had lots of furry friends. Parking can be tricky since it’s tucked into a neighborhood but worth circling to find a spot!
I was not disappointed! Based on a recommendation I came to this location specifically for the Beef Noodles and Pork Bao. Delicious is an understatement. The noodles are perfection and the beef is tender. It’s all very flavorful. The Bao was huge, which I was not expecting. It’s big enough to be an entree. There’s vegetarian and glutinous free options.
Woon is one of our favorite restaurants on our 4 day trip to LA! The flavors were 100% there, prices of the dishes are very affordable, and the atmosphere of the restaurants is really cute and small. The pork belly bao bun was absolutely juicy. The wings were so hot, crispy, and fresh! The veggie noodles had a great char- wok flavor, noodles were cooked perfectly! Everything was a 10/10! The mama's hot sauce was the best as well! Chefs kiss!
I love Woon!! The beef noodles are my ideal noodle texture and their scallion pancakes are chefs kiss perfection. Cutie vibes and nice seating don’t hurt, and a lovely wine list!
It's one of my family's favorite restaurants. I love homestyle food. You can tell they are real family recipes. The beef chewy noodles are my favorite thing with the pork belly bao buns not far behind. Always order the dumplings. They have beer and a great atmosphere. There is no table service, so it's a very casual feel.
super fast service, friendly waiters. you walk up and place an order, they give you a number and bring the food to you. they had specials: chili oil noodles, pork and veggie dumplings, and a black rice dessert. everything is small portion and they give you plates for sharing. i’d recommend about 2-3 dishes per person. the pork dumplings and chicken wings were by far the best dishes. the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the breading had a good crunch. the chili oil noodles were good, but not enough going on (wish there was veggies or something else mixed in; it’s a lot of noodles by themselves). noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, good chew to them. the tofu bao was too big in my opinion, and too much tofu ratio. i kinda wish the fried chicken was inside the bao 👀 that would be my dream dish! ambience is casual and very cute, great for dinner with a friend or date place. some of the table height were pretty short; kinda hard to sit at if you’re taller. some of the furniture was more form over function (looks very cute but not that comfortable). the merchandise at the front was super cute. whoever is designing the tshirts and packaging is knocking it out of the park!
Woon is a modern Chinese place that serves high quality food at a pretty high price, but definitely worth it. You order at the counter in front and can take a seat or grab it to go. Woon feels very different from any other Chinese restaurant that you will find in America, and that made me worried that it wouldn’t be authentic, but their food was more true to the cuisine than the usual orange chicken, beef and broccoli. We started with the scallion pancakes that came out fast. Theirs were thick and balloony while I prefer mine thin but they were still soft and flaky. It came with a vinegar, soy sauce mix. Then came the beef noodles, which had a good bounce to them. The shiitake mushrooms had a very strong flavor and the beef was high quality. My only issue is that while the beef was high quality, it was still a poor choice in cut, so it had a good amount of marbling but it was still a bit tough. We also ordered a larger helping of their five spice wings. These wings were perfect. True to more traditional Chinese wings, they’re only lightly battered yet still amazingly crispy. They were also perfectly cooked, somehow being juicy and tender with no pink! If you come here you have to get a serving of the wings. Lastly was the pork bao, which came after a while, probably because they had to steam the buns. Inside the buns were braised pork and pickled vegetables. I’m not too sure about the pickled vegetables; they had a sour taste that distracted from the meat. I was worried about dealing with such a big piece of meat sticking out of the bun, but it was no problem because it was super soft.
Most brides would panic at the idea of having their wedding meal somewhere they’d never tried. We decided to wing it. First ever visit to Woon was our wedding dinner. Zero regrets. It came highly recommended, the food looked unreal, and the branding had us instantly. It did not disappoint. The beef noodles are outrageous, the pork belly over rice is a must. We even came back for our one-week anniversary without a second thought. The Woon team were brilliant. They set up a little table outside for us on the sidewalk and were so relaxed about photos. Let us have our quiet, low-key wedding meal under the night sky exactly as we imagined it. Beautiful food, laid-back setting, and honestly more memorable than any formal wedding dinner. Would give it 100 stars. Order everything.
The BEST Chinese food I tried in the USA. It makes me homesick 😭. We didn’t expect to order the “Beef Noodles”. But once we saw other tables, we decided definitely need to order that. Without doubt, the beef noodle is the best. It is so GOOD!!! A must try! We also ordered the Chinese pancake and the dumpling. They are also the best I ever tried in the USA. Give a try and you will fall in love with them. The store is small, but has many outside seats. They have so many different options and dishes. Next time when we visit LA, I definitely will come again. I miss Woon already 😭 The restaurant is dainty and cute!! Love it so much.

Timing & Seating: We visited on a Saturday night at 5:00 PM with a group of four. Surprisingly, we didn't have to wait at all. We grabbed an inside seat, which I recommend to soak in the atmosphere—the restaurant has a really good vibe, modern but cozy. The Food: We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and the food was excellent. Beef Noodles: Flavorful and satisfying—the chewy texture is the highlight. Veggie Noodles: A solid option that holds its own against the meat dishes. Pork Belly over Rice: Rich and comforting. Fried Rice & Baos: Great sides to round out the meal. Logistics: Just a heads-up: parking is street only. It can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood, so be prepared to circle the block or walk a little. Verdict: I definitely recommend Woon. It’s a fantastic spot for casual, high-quality Chinese comfort food without the long wait if you go early!
Parking is difficult, but we came for an early dinner and beat the crowd. Definitely much better eating there than ordering through DoorDash. Loved the charred flavor of the noodles.
This impeccably designed restaurant an ode to his mother features delicious home style Chinese food. You order at the counter and then are given a number where they’ll deliver you some food. This place is great for date night or a friend dinner. And it will appease both vegetarians and carnivores alike. I got the beef noodles which were the perfect texture. Chewy but with just a little bit of give. The scallion pancakes here are perfect

Ordered a rice and a noodle. Both dishes are kind of salty (soy sauce, not salt). My friend and I both had 2-3 glasses of water each. Service is fine. Seating is ok but not very comfortable.
It’s not the Chinese food I expected but food tastes good. I ordered salad, beef roll and tofu bowl. Personally I don’t like the tofu bowl and like others especially salad.

Frice rice was reminiscent of Japanese chahan and wings were crispy, tender, and juicy. Noodles were a little too chewy to the point where it felt undercooked (from someone that loves chewy noodles). Scallion pancake was just plain crispy dough with no flavor or chew. Bean curd was shockingly dry in the cucumber salad. Everything was a little overseasoned (too salty and to sour). Portions felt small but we left satiated and didn’t pay an outragoeus amount of money. Barely anyone there was Asian but the population was largely millenial.
The noodles and gai lan had great flavor. The pork belly on rice did as well; our serving was 90% fat which is good or bad depending on your preference. The scallion pancakes were not good for us, they were so dry and hard that they were tough to even bite through. Also every dish was cold, not even warm, like sitting for 30 minutes level cold. Nice wine and beer selection but wine pours are small, maybe 2 or 3 oz? Fun vibe and friendly people.

I do NOT recommend this restaurant. The beef noodles were horrible. They tasted old. Chicken wings were decent but not the best chicken wings ive had at a chinese restaurant. I would skip this place overall. I gave 3 stars for the service but it is a fast casual restaurant. You order at the front, grab your own drinks, no one will check on you. Not a problem but the food is the issue.
