We were looking for a place to blow off steam from our busy week, and we found it! It was busy but inviting. We sat at the bar and were served promptly by Jordan, Embree, and Gerardo. We ate the delicious salmon over rice and zucchini and then sat and enjoyed laughter, singing and music by Groove Anthum. I would definitely recommend it!

We went in for she a long work week from out of town. They had great reviews so we thought we’d give it a try. It did not disappoint! The drinks, appetizer, meal, & service were impeccable! The pecans in the vegetable appetizer really set it off! It was a little more than I was expecting to pay, but so well worth it! We would definitely return.

I’m not from Amarillo, but was in town and needed lunch. This location very clearly exceeded all exceptions. The oysters are world class! I can assure you that you will not find better oysters in a 300 mile radius. The blue points we sampled are as good as ones you’d find at a high end restaurant in a major city on the east coast. If you’re visiting Amarillo, I think this is a ‘must visit’ establishment for a meal.

I can’t say enough good things about The drunken oyster. The overall ambience is stellar and the service was exceptional. My mother and I shared peel &eat shrimp and oysters, and got two entrées with two drinks. Our waiter Allen was so attentive and was one of the best waiters we’ve had in a long time.

We recently moved to Amarillo and the Drunken Oyster is one of our favorites _ We’ve been regulars at D.O. and it's always a must for our Florida family when visiting _ love that they're open late and have live music for special occasions but of course the food and drinks are the stars (especially the chargrilled oysters!) all the staff have been amazing, but our go-to server, Allen always makes it a special event with his highlights of new menu items and cocktails The Drunken Oyster never disappoints!

Started out strong with the 2 Voodoo Queen drinks. Beautiful presentation (see video) and the drink was fruity and fun. I did get a tiny bone in the chicken fried gator, but it was packed with lots of flavor and had a little spice. Husband ordered the Seafood Gumbo and it came in a bread bowl. It wasn't spicy, but was seasoned well. The bread pudding was hands down the BEST bread pudding I have ever had! The bread was crunchy, soft, moist and the butter pecan ice cream with caramel and candied pecans was perfect! The gouda grits were also creamy, buttery and delicious! My cajun boil with the hot ass seasoning was very gritty. I told my waiter, Jessie, who was absolutely fantastic, who told the manager and she took it back to be remade. Unfortunately the next one was also very gritty. I told her it tasted like sand, maybe something wasn't cleaned properly. The head chef was there and in fact the clams were not properly cleaned and still had sand. She was nice enough to take it off our bill and even had one made for me to go. I am grateful they made it right, but also didn't want anyone else to experience that. The seasoning was yummy, just had a little extra seasoning with the sand. Overall, would definitely recommend! The atmosphere was fun, the playlist had a little bit of everything from country to jazz, plenty of seating, delicious drinks, fantastic service delicious food. Will definitely be giving it another try.

Easy five stars, hands down the best spot in town! We needed a place to celebrate a very special occasion and certainly found it, and our server, Autumn, was so kind and generous to make the whole thing perfectly memorable 💕 Hubby and I went on a Thursday evening, had no trouble getting a reservation and plenty of parking out front. The vibe inside was super chill but also nicely refined and polished table settings for a romantic date. We’d gladly come back any night to tip a few back and let loose, or just to try more of the delicious menu options. Portions were generous but not copious and all the dishes came out perfectly cooked and to temperature. The veggie starter was full of fresh grilled green veggies and very lightly salted so as not to take away from the delicious flavors. My entree, the scallop risotto, was worth every penny and very savory. The scallops were just right and the cream sauce was very well balanced. His Cajun fish and chips were, in his words, “unlike any [he’s] ever had before” because it was so moist inside but also crispy and nicely seasoned on the outside . Dessert kinda stole the show, even tho the food was so satisfying. We got the beignets with ice cream and caramel sauce and it was essentially the best churro I’ve ever had (get it). The mousse was light and fluffy and had a nice dark chocolate flavor throughout. The tea was not loose leaf but still tasted good and was well presented, and the Mata Hari absinthe made for a fancy little finish to our magical meal. All in all, I highly recommend trying this place. We’re already planning our next visit with my dad and sister when they arrive in town. Check it out!

We have been going to the Drunken Oyster for a few years now. It was one of our top date night choices. We recently had a bad experience on VDay, and were so disappointed. They made it right though and this speaks to their character, and care for customer experience! At the end of the day, one bad experience doesn’t damage them all. Still recommend. The Drunken Oyster has an excellent atmosphere with a lively, welcoming vibe, and the customer service was truly top notch. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel at home and attentive to our table throughout the night. Unfortunately, the drinks and food did not live up to the same standard. The lobster mac and cheese, which came at a premium price, was especially disappointing. It contained very little lobster, the cheese sauce was overly salty, and it was served with stale bread that seemed undercooked. For the price point, the quality fell far short of expectations. This place shines in energy and service, but if you’re coming primarily for the food and cocktails, you may leave underwhelmed.

I really hate to write this, because we were genuinely excited for a special Valentine’s night out, but our experience at The Drunken Oyster left us feeling more disappointed and let down than anything else. We made our reservation weeks in advance and were never told there would be a special limited Valentine’s menu for $150, with limited options. When we sat down and saw the menu, it immediately felt like a bait and switch with very few choices, no regular menu available, and a fixed price we hadn’t agreed to ahead of time. I don’t mind paying for a special experience, but that needs to be communicated clearly beforehand so we can decide if it’s right for us. Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t come close to making that base $150 feel worth it. Both of our steaks were severely undercooked for how we ordered them, and the overall flavor and quality of the dishes just weren’t there. My wife’s wine was short poured, which sounds small, but in the middle of everything else it added to the feeling that we weren’t getting what we were paying for. We ordered oysters and a couple of drinks that were good, yet shortly after our entrées sat in front of us while we had no cutlery to use, so we just watched our food get cold. The staff seemed stretched thin and a bit erratic, and while I don’t blame our server personally, it felt like the whole restaurant was unprepared for the night. By the time the bill arrived, with the oysters, drinks, and the $150 set menu, it was over $300 with an automatic gratuity already added. I have zero problem tipping well, especially on special occasions where the experience grants it but given how off the entire night felt, from the surprise menu and price, to the undercooked steaks, to the scattered service, it was really disheartening. What was supposed to be a special Valentine’s dinner with my wife ended up feeling more stressful than enjoyable, and we left with the sense that we hadn’t been treated fairly or had our night respected. Overall, the experience tonight left a bad taste in my mouth. For a restaurant that I've rnjoyed several times in the past it’s hard for me to recommend The Drunken Oyster for a special occasion after tonight.

We came in for an early dinner at 5:30. At first we were almost seated right in front of the front door, but asked to be moved away from the drafty door. There were only a few tables already seated, mostly empty restaurant. Our server was sweet but obviously needs a LOT more training. Drinks were good, came on time. We placed our orders for appetizers and entrees at the same time. Appetizers were slow to arrive even though it was still slow. Entrees never came. We flagged down a manager after being here for an hour. Entrees came with the fried items undercooked. Had to ask for a check. I’m sitting here watching my server stand and talk with another server by the bar. We can’t even check out to leave. There was a chain of poor service all evening. We won’t be back. Nothing was comped or discounted, btw. We did not ask for it, but in this case it was definitely warranted. Good food, good drinks, abysmal service.

My daughter invited me to brunch at Drunken Oyster, and I was really excited. However, we sat for over an hour just waiting for our drinks. The entire lunch took about 3.5 hours. We paid for bottomless mimosas but only received three drinks. I ordered the special, which was priced higher than the regular menu items, but it was so salty and dry, that I couldn't eat it. The Waffle was so dry it just disintegrated when touched. As we looked around, we noticed the bartender—who is my daughter's colleague—standing and chatting with other patrons. Young people walked by without offering to take our orders or check if we needed anything. The store manager never stopped by to see if we wanted our empty glasses refilled. One person spoke to the manager, who seemed surprised but still took no action. He did not collect our empty glasses or provide any assistance. Our waiter was fine, so we tipped well; however, I will never return to this restaurant. After we left, we went to Bar 3,​ where the service was great. As a 72-year-old, I find it unacceptable to pay $60 for a bad meal. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

My husband had also booked 4 weeks ahead. The whole experience felt very rushed. Our appetizers came out way before the drinks, which we waited 30 mins for. When we were told that we couldn’t get our steaks cooked like we wanted them and that everyone was getting a medium steak, I was completely blown away. The steaks came out very under cooked and cold. So cold the butter on top didn’t melt! by that time I was done and we asked for our ticket, the waiter charged us the entire meal. Ha Ha! UMMM! NOT happening. The manager TAYLOR did come to us and apologize and took care of the ticket. We were upset because we wanted to have a good evening with good drinks and food. So my husband took a chance and called The Public House, Amarillo, Texas talked to GINA the manager about our experience and they got us in immediately and took great care of us! I give them 10/10 Great service from Andi great experience! We had a wonderful evening and great Valentines 💌 pic shows Surf and Turf. One of the items on the menu. This is what I chose for my entree. My Steak came out Cold with unmelted butter and CHARRED Roasted Brussels!

I hate to do this but we woke up this morning and we’re still outraged from what happened last night. I made a reservation weeks in advance for our Valentine’s date. I’m an over the road truck driver. I drove EMPTY from Houston TX on Friday night just to make it here on time for this reservation. That cost was $300 alone in fuel. I initially thought I could change my reservation, but unfortunately they were booked full till the next day at 8:30 pm. So I opted to cut my losses and make it here for our date. This was not our first time here. The menu was completely changed and limited. I know a pre prepped plate when I see one. The appetizers we ordered were shrimp and oysters. The oysters were stuck to the bed of ice. What does this mean? These plates were pre-made. The oysters were FROZEN. If I wanted to eat a steak I would have stayed home and cooked it myself or gone to an actual steakhouse. This is literally the beef capital of the USA. My wife said her pasta tasted like something bought that you make in a microwave. We were in and out in 40 min. On a normal day we spend $300-$350 on our food and drinks at the Drunken Oyster. If you were trying to make some quick cash you definitely did. But this will be the last time we ever step foot here and everyone I know will hear about this. We are truly heartbroken. We

I can't share my thoughts on the food because we didn't even make it that far into our experience here. We came to try out their brunch one weekend, after reading some good reviews. When we arrived, the hostess was a bit unfriendly and we were seated, notably, away from where everyone else was, slightly in a corner. I don't normally have an issue with that, but as we sat waiting for a server to approach our table, we noticed others being seated in the general area everyone else was AND being approached by servers. Mind you, this was well after we'd been seated and we were still waiting for a server to even take our drink order. After over 10 mins of waiting, I decided it would be best to take our business elsewhere. As we were leaving, the server who we'd seen help 3 other parties before us, was walking to our table and watched with utter shock as we left. Every thing you can do wrong as a restaurant was exhibited by this establishment. Every guest matters. If you can't operate with this concept at the forefront, you will never truly be successful. I hope this business learns to do better.

Heard about this place for some time now and was also recommended by some friends. Decided to have a Valentines dinner with my wife to celebrate the occasion. Service was great and was treated well however the problem began at the fact there was no mention of a limited menu. Anyways what rose suspicion initially is there was no price listed for ANY of the food options. When we did receive our food, needless to say it was disappointing, pasta was overcooked and the chicken was okay at best similar to what you’d get out of pre made food in a warmer. Expected much more in both quality of food and portion size. Then comes the bill, for 4 drinks an appetizer, and entree came out to be 260 dollars? PLUS an automatic 20% gratuity? This is unreal, I expected to pay a little extra which was fine as I have had dinner at other restaurants on Valentine’s Day. However this is absurd granted their normal menu pricing. So to those who also had their dinner tonight how much did you spend this is Amarillo after all not Dallas. They say a first impression always lasts, this one will last for a long time. Do better.

I took a sip of my Hurricane drink yesterday and the server didnt let me exchange it for another without charging me for the first drink and they left it at the table after I asked them to take it away from the small table. The drink was water down and tasted like cherry syrup, which is nothing like the ingredients on the menu. The staff was unfriendly. Other than that the fried oysters and the catfish was good.
